Oo quacko, maybe it'll be you?

i have been up a few times because of this stinking dihorrea (sp?) it's the worst I've ever had. It just hurts, like pooing water! (sorry!!) and I'm there for ages feeling the need to push but of course nothing happens.

apparently if its that bad i should call the dr. All he will tell me to do is stay hydrated, and i know that already!

still, i would rather get this bug out of the way now. Funnily enough i don't feel sick or anything, in fact aside from that and the general weariness being pregnant i feel pretty good!

choco - I'm sorry you're having such a rough time. When the baby is here what will they do to fix you?

quackojuliet · 25/12/2013 06:34

Still up,managed just 90 mins sleep so far. took a couple of paractemol but not really touching the cramps. Took a bath and they're still here. Fortunately haven't vommed any more though. Think it'll be a tired out christmas at this rate...I'm bouncing on my ball and considering waking dh to rub my back but he's already pissed off with having to wipe up my sick explosion (missed the bucket big time!)

Frizz1986 · 25/12/2013 06:36

Sorry that some of you are suffering again. Hope you get these bugs out of the way quickly.
And sorry you are in more pain choco

Waters were a definite leakage. Went for a big wee after my bath and they kept coming. Then when I got up I was dripping..... Then if I squatted a nice trickle came out. I have to say I knew straight away what it was.

She was 6lbs 5.5 oz so a nice size. Can't believe now that I actually managed to do it as the pain was bad. The contractions become so close that by the time you have gotten over one the next is about to arrive. When I was able to start pushing it hurt and stung a lot but you know things are moving at that point.
I did honestly feel like I was going to split into 2 but the relief when the head went 'pop' was unreal. I would recommend having a feel of babies head when it comes out as it was amazing.
Then it seemed like forever for the next contraction to get the rest of her out. I was very very achy and shivering when I got out of the pool. But it's true what they say.... I remember that it hurt like hell but can't actually remember how bad it felt. And I have the most beautiful little girl next to me now.
She fed nicely in the night so am hopeful that I will be able to breastfeed.

Merry Xmas ladies!!

fryingpantoface · 25/12/2013 08:12

Quacko - maybe get checked out?

friss - eek how lovely!

Sultanajo · 25/12/2013 09:10

Oh no ladies. That sounds rough all round! choco really hope the pain eased a bit and quack hope you manage to keep water down soon.

Aw frizz that's just awesome! You totally deserve such a fab first nice with your little star!

Hope everyone has a fab Christmas!

lovelilies · 25/12/2013 09:22

Merry Christmas everyone! Grin
Just wanted to check in, congrats to all the new mummies and daddies! I'm having lots of BHs (?) today, distracted by presents though dd is chuffed Santa came, still a believer at 8!
My mum's in her way over then we're going to a posh hotel for lunch at 1.30.
Hope everyone has a lovely day Xmas Smile

fryingpantoface · 25/12/2013 09:31

Love- how sweet your daughter still believes!

I'm having bhs, but ignoring them where possible. Dh and ds are eating pigs in blankets and I'm refusing to offer to cook breakfast.

i made dinner yesterday, dh peeled veg, that was his contribution, then i cleaned the kitchen, filled and unloaded the dishwasher twice, so it's his turn.

BookTart · 25/12/2013 09:36

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all have a great day Xmas Smile

Angelesque · 25/12/2013 09:49

Merry Christmas everyone! A good day so far...

Also, think I just had the very first bit of the plug come out... No blood and not much so am guessing it's just things shifting about a bit and prepping. Am only 35+1 so hoping it'll be a few weeks before things get going quite yet!

T - 4 till turkey time... Enjoy your day everyone xx

quackojuliet · 25/12/2013 11:50

Managed some more sleep but then the pains came back. Last few days they've just been in the night. Terrible diarrhea too (sorry tmi)
Just trying to distract myself, if this is real labour its a very slow stop-start.

fryingpantoface · 25/12/2013 12:14

Oh quacko that's rubbish, but i know how you feel!

as dh wont go for a hike today I've talked him into a walk to the park, about 20mins away, then I'm going to play on the swings

TarkaTheOtter · 25/12/2013 13:43

Merry Christmas! Having a pre-lunch nap with dd as she was exhausted and only way to get her down in a strange house - what a shame I'm missing all the hard work Grin.

I saw the midwife yesterday and she isn't sure I'll make it to my induction on Monday as the baby is very low and 3/5 engaged which is apparently quite a lot for a 2nd pregnancy. No other signs but I've completely forgotten what contractions feel like especially at the beginning though.

Felix90 · 25/12/2013 15:44

Wow congrats frizz! Water birth with just gas and air?! That's amazing. Enjoy Christmas with your new baby Smile

Just popped on to see how everyone is. Hope you're all having a great day. I'm having a lovely relaxing day with OH and Sylvie and just waiting on dinner to finish off as I'm starving!!

Really struggling with sleep at the moment. I've worked out I've slept about 14 hours in total since I went in to hospital on Friday morning. She feeds and sleeps well through the day but it's a nightmare at night as she wants to feed constantly, and is very windy and won't settle at all. I've managed to get about 40 mins sleep each night with her on my chest and that's it. It's amazing how little sleep I can function on though! Need to get in to the habit of sleeping in the day when she does. Breastfeeding is really painful, but I've had a few midwives check her latch who have said its fine and it's just that she's sucking so hard and bruising my nipples Sad going to persevere though as I know it should get better once my milk comes in properly.

Hope things start moving for everyone else soon. I'm off to drink lots of brews! BrewBrewBrew

fryingpantoface · 25/12/2013 16:10

Wow tarka brilliant news! Here's hoping!

felix - sounds tiring, but well done!

enormouse · 25/12/2013 18:41

Hi all. Just popping in to wish everyone a merry Christmas. Hope you and your families are all well. Xmas Grin

GoshAnneGorilla · 25/12/2013 18:47

Hi, I hope you don't mind a new face, I've been meaning to join this thread for ages.

Dd2 is due on the 11th and I am so uncomfortable! I feel like I have got a permanent stitch under my left boob!

Baby is still high, I'm hoping she drops soon.

Hope you're all having a lovely Xmas day.

Angelesque · 25/12/2013 19:09

Welcome Gorilla and Merry Christmas! Not long to go for you now...

fryingpantoface · 25/12/2013 19:13

Welcome gorilla just jump on in. We me, often overshare!

MrsVDB · 25/12/2013 19:30

Happy Christmas everyone :) had a small measured out by paranoid me! wine today. First drink in 8 months and although it was lovely dont think ill bother with the glass I was going to have on New Year's Eve. Such a shock as I'm usually a big drinker (not in the alcoholic sense!)

Sultanajo · 25/12/2013 20:15

Aw Felix well done persevering and managing on little sleep.

Hope everyone has managed to have a good Christmas! Had a lovely day here - couldn't have gone better. Hurray! Although bubs has been quieter than usual but I have been more distracted than usual so potentially just haven't noticed all his wriggles.... I will NOT get paranoid!!!

AnotherStitchInTime · 25/12/2013 20:25

Merry Christmas everyone :)

Huge congratulations to frizz on the birth of Aurelia, such a lovely name Thanks

choco big , I hope the morphine at home will see you through xx

Welcome gorilla

Sorry everyone else, I will catch up soon enough, but have been a bit out of it lately.

So Mason Oliver arrived at 9.57am on Monday weighing 2.9kg. I was awake when he was delivered and got to see him, but then due to complications with my placenta they moved to do a hysterectomy and I asked to be put under general anaesthetic. Mason went with DH and I finally came out of theatre at 1pm with no uterus and a repaired minor bladder injury having lost 7 pints of blood. I am now in high dependency, Mason is doing really well and solely breastfeeding from me. They are excellent here, I cannot fault the care. Oh and the gynacologist who came to see my after delivery who had scrubbed in while passing to help repair my bladder, turned out to be Alan Farthing the Queen's own gynacologist who delivered Prince George!

I hope you have now enjoyed your Christmas dinner and are lounging about watching Christmas telly. I am only eating small bits of porridge as my bowel has yet to work properly, but I am hoping by tomorrow to be enjoying some Christmas fayre.

MrsGSR · 25/12/2013 20:31

I hope everyone's had a good day, and those with aches and pains and infections are feeling better.

We've had a great day with closer family, tomorrow we're off to see cousins and aunts and uncles :)

TobyLerone · 25/12/2013 20:33

Oh, well done, another! That sounds like a struggle, but you got there in the end. Congratulations on the safe delivery of Mason. I hope you're feeling much better very soon.

OP posts:
MrsGSR · 25/12/2013 20:36

Congratulations another! I hope you're off high dependency soon.

Mythreeknights · 25/12/2013 20:38

another that sounds pretty serious, did you know a hysterectomy might have been an outcome from your placenta praevia? I really hope you are ok, that's major surgery. Huge congratulations on the safe arrival of Mason though, you are a trooper. You and choco deserve massive gold medals.

Happy chrimbo to everyone
