Just a quickie. Baby Aurelia Joyce born at 1049am. Water birth. Waters went at 9am, at the birth centre at 10am. All over very fast but it did hurt (a lot) 3rd degree tear so transferred to hospital for surgery. Just waiting to go in now.

GummiBear74 · 24/12/2013 14:26

Wow, congratulations frizz! Sounds as though you were actually in labour the whole time Shock

Welcome to the world, little Aurelia, just in time for Christmas. Hope they fix that tear up quickly, then plenty of newborn snuggles!

fryingpantoface · 24/12/2013 14:31

Oh my gosh Frizz! Congratulations!

BookTart · 24/12/2013 14:34

Frizz that's amazing - congratulations! I hope the surgery goes well. What a brilliant Christmas present Xmas Smile

Mythreeknights · 24/12/2013 14:39

Congratulations frizz!!!!! Amazing update

Spacefrog35 · 24/12/2013 14:44

quackojuliet · 24/12/2013 14:45

Oh wow frizz congratulations! Beautiful aurelia!
We are due date buddies so now this is getting real!!
Hope you heal up ok and enjoy lots of christmas newborn cuddles! Wow

enormouse · 24/12/2013 14:48

Oh frizz. How wonderful, a Christmas eve baby. Congratulations.
Hope you're out of surgery soon. Take care xxx. Thanks

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 24/12/2013 14:56

Hurray, congrats Frizz! Another gorgeous girl name! (Seriously everyone who has delivered so far, these are all going on my list!) hope all goes well with the tidy up, and best wishes for a magical Christmas with your newborn.

Enormouse I'm joining your extremely uncomfortable gang. I am officially a giant waddling monster. We just exchanged Christmas Eve gifts - I do Christmas pjs (continuing my excuse not to get dressed!) and bought for DH and DD. DH bless him got some for me too - it's a giant fluffy purple spotty onesie. I actually look like Sully from monsters inc, but purple. I am a monster. Keep getting cramps low down on both sides too, but no sign of any leakages/plug or anything. Just the ever present BH.

Toby be careful in that weather on your drive tonight, and enjoy your Chinese. What I wouldn't give for a proper English Chinese right now! We just had cheese and crackers and mice pies, with Baileys hot chocolates and marshmallows. Just a dash for me. Delicious.

Oh and good old Scott from next door helped me in with the blessed bike, so it's hidden in the back garden as we speak!

Happy Christmas Eve everyone.

enormouse · 24/12/2013 15:15

Ooh only we just did our Christmas eve hamper too. Nothing fancy, just pyjamas and snacks and the world's end dvd for dp and I to watch when ds is in bed. Ds got a robot bath bomb and new toothbrush and has already used them. He smells great now.
I love the sound of your onesie. Sounds very warm.
Please tell us how the bike goes down. I've gotten dp a new messenger bag and I had to wrap it without checking his laptop actually fits in it so I'm a little concerned I may have bought a useless bag.

mythree I think you might win. I can only offer a childish almost sil (age 26) who threw a tantrum because she wanted her parents to buy 4 Christmas trees this year.

sarahleanne · 24/12/2013 15:21

Oh my god massive congrats to frizz haha I thought it sounded like more than BH's! Beautiful name. Well done. Does anyone know what her due date was? Slightly envious here in a way as I'm thinking she may have been early, am I right?

Percypiglet · 24/12/2013 15:21

Congrats Frizz, after your post this morning saying contractions were 4-6 mins apart I thought you'd deliver today. Well done you. Don't forget to moan at your dh for sleeping why you were having contractions last night! A Christmas babe indeed!

TobyLerone · 24/12/2013 15:26

A proper English Chinese :o

Well, purple, if you can get to Herne Bay this evening I'm sure MIL will share!

Congrats, frizz! That's the perfect kind of birth. Well done! You do realise I'll have to cross Aurelia off our list now, though!

Grandad's housework is done, cake is marzipanned (but not iced, gate is fixed (after a fashion) and I've sat down with a tea. Probably an error, but I care not!

Congratulations Frizz and lovely name. Hope the surgery went well and you heal quickly.

BandontheFun · 24/12/2013 16:11

Wow Frizz turns out your pain threshold was way higher than u thought! Congratulations and what a lovely name! :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 24/12/2013 16:15

frizz!!! Congratulations! So glad all the pain wasn't for nothing after all! And beautiful name - how gorgeous is she? On a scale of one to infinity? Grin

Sorry some of you are still so uncomfortable - hope you are next in the queue.

toby cake only needs marzipan, that's the best bit.

only hurrah for Scott, and the purple onesie!

We had visitors this morning, with their 3 year old and 1 year old, both of whom are the most ridiculously attractive children of all time. Had a ball - rubbing cake around the place (faces, hair, carpet), pulling baubles off tree, chewing on a doorstop - I loved it! Can't wait for ours to be old enough to be naughty and get up to mischief!

Oh, and mythree you win on the Family Drama sweepstake. WTAF?!
Although, MrsV, your sister brings you in a very close second. What a bitch.

Mine has now all calmed down and apparently is coming, sans boyfriend.

It's all going to go orribly wrong on the day, isn't it? Grin

Percypiglet · 24/12/2013 16:46

Phew, think I might be ready for Christmas, after prepping all the veg, dusting and hoovering, changing the beds, cleaning the bathrooms and making a yule log (which I suspect is going to taste horrid as think in my pregnancy brain way I actually did it wrong), but hey, it looks good. Knackered now. Sitting down with a cuppa. DH can do everything tomorrow now for our guests, think I earnt it.

Percypiglet · 24/12/2013 17:10

We should add the births to the stats thread.

Toothfairy78 · 24/12/2013 18:05

Evening ' ladies,

Congratulations frizz!!!!! Hope you're all patched up now and enjoying cuddles n some rest.

My family are now here. Brothers helped me gather some holly and ivy, which I arranged badly. We prepared bits for tomorrow's Christmas trifle. Delivered cards to neighbours. So, we're all set for Christmas. Just schlumping.

Get this out of the way and ready head towards our due dates!

Sorry to hear of ridiculous relatives with their histrionics but let's all be good girls and try not to strangle anyone over the next couple of days!!! Even if they are childish and need a slap.

On the home stretch now!

Xxx

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 24/12/2013 18:24

Haha... Enormouse, Minor error on my part. Have just been out to open the box with the bike in it, and realized it is a box full of bike pieces. Not an actual built bike. So, merry Christmas, DH. Build yourself a bike! I'm sure that's exactly what he had in mind for Christmas morning!! Good job I've got bacon and eggs in.

Tooth I feel exactly the same. Once Christmas is done, we're on the home slide. Bring it on!!

Toby I might not make it tonight, but save me a pork ball Grin

Right, we're off to deposit DD's stocking on the end of her bed, and time for bed ourselves. No more babies till at least Boxing Day please ladies - keep 'em in till after the turkey!

Night all.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 24/12/2013 18:26

Oh and Percy, I bought a Yule log today. Sod it - I've made a crumble, I can do no more! I'm sure your home made one will be infinitely superior.

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 18:36

Hey all. Am now in recovery and the clean up went well. Really hoping I'll be able to go home in the morning. Guess they just need to make sure the drugs have worn off and I can pee.
She is adorable and I am so happy that I managed to have the birth I wanted with only gas and air (even though it hurt like hell) Once the head popped out the relief was immense.
Not sure how I look after a baby on here though, nappy changes etc. Guess I can always press the buzzer and someone will come and assist.
Gutted I didn't get to stay at the MLU as dh could've stayed there with me but oh well.

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 18:38

Oh and I was due Jan 10th so born at 37+4

enormouse · 24/12/2013 18:40

Argh Jesus wept. Have to go to a family and neighbours get together thing organised by dps mum. I've just had a bath and all I wanted to do was get into my new pyjamas and watch the snowdog. And get ds to bed early so he won't be too fractious over lunch tomorrow. But no, almost MIL is insistent we come. Apparently no I've been having painful BHs and can't sit or stand for long periods isn't a good enough excuse.

Ah well, it's a meal I don't have to cook.
only I'm sure he won't mind, there's food as an incentive.
percy I was thinking the same thing. Or a new thread for the births possibly?

Angelesque · 24/12/2013 19:06

Congrats Frizz! How exciting - and how amazing you got so far into labour before going into hospital! Beautiful name too - what a perfect Christmas present! X
