fryingpantoface · 24/12/2013 02:54

Frizz - could you go into hospital? Have you called them?

choco - poor thing! When is your induction date again?

i have a raging case of runny poos (sorry) it's really bad. As no one else in my family has them, i think it's either a) pregnancy related, wonderful, or b) a result of all the broken nights sleep I've had recently. Either way, not much can be done about it.

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 03:30

frying they can be a sign of labour starting as body does a clear out (so I have read)

Managed to do some walking on the spot along with some stretches on all 4s whilst chanting 'I can do this' to myself and I went without a painful contraction for 40mins.
Now as soon as I lie down to get some sleep they are returning. Am just so exhausted. Am going to call the mw in the morning to get some advice. There has to be something someone can do to stop it. I can't walk on the spot indefinitely.

chocoloulou34 · 24/12/2013 03:33

frizz hope theyve settled down now.
frying I had runny poo's all night b4 I went into labour with dd. Apparently quite common and your body is having a clear out before u give birth. Was an awful night at the time though so hope ur asleep now and feeling better.
Thanks for kind wishes ladies. Induction on 3rd. Have only had hours sleep so far. Pain bad and storm here is crazy. All over my facebook my friends all seem to be awake and reporting that half my town has been blown away. Sounds bad out there. Ohhhh wish I could sleep x

chocoloulou34 · 24/12/2013 03:36

Lol snap on the info there frizz.
u poor thing with the bh. Never had any so no idea what its like in comparison to real thing but sound v similar and not at all fun. Yes u cant go on like this. Dont our bodies realise xmas is here!!

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 03:58

choco sorry you are struggling to rest with your pains. I can hear the wind howling outside and I am not even in one of the warning zones so god knows what it's like elsewhere.

Really not looking forward to Xmas at the moment. It is now 4 hours into Xmas eve and it sucks. I know none of this will matter once baby arrives but can't we all have a break to enjoy the festivities.

Still can't settle to sleep as the BHs keep coming. Got Xmas day at the PIL too and I have no idea how the hell I am going to cope with that. Grrrr. Dh keeps saying that he is sure they will go away soon but after 4 days I am really not holding out much hope. Really hoping that mucous plug going today might mean it's soon (even though I know it can be weeks, I hope I am one of the lucky ones)

sarahleanne · 24/12/2013 04:18

choco you poor thing. I seriously do feel for you.about is going to be a breeze for you after all that you've been through!

frizz braxton hicks are not normally painful, especially with a first baby so I'm thinking maybe more is going on for you than you think :) especially as you have lost your plug too. I am no midwife but bh normally are just uncomfortable . Do you have any pain in your back? I've heard some women's contractions never become regular too. How any weeks are you now? Oooh exciting.

sarahleanne · 24/12/2013 04:20

Labour=about, according to my phone

Sultanajo · 24/12/2013 04:47

choco omg! Just horrendous! Great they can let you go home with oral meds, but seriously! Huge pain relieving hugs!!!

frying ekkk.... You could well be having a clear out before bubs makes an appearance! Not fun, but hopefully all worth it!

frizz I also didn't think BH should be painful. Mine are just fecking uncomfortable and wearing me out cos they are keeping me awake, but they aren't making me moan out loud. Definitely call for advice, especially because you have lost your plug! I would be tempted to call sooner rather than later....

OK, for all those BH sufferers who also have heartburn:

Oh Braxton Hicks
You keep me awake
You get right on my tits
Any chance of a break?

Heartburn you suck
In such a big way
Just do one already
And make my feckin day!

DH is snoring
Oblivious to my plight
If I don't get my beauty sleep
I will look like total shite!

Off to pee again
For the millionth time tonight
Soon it will be morning
And starting to get light!

It will all be worth it
Once our babes are in our arms
We can all get through this
Keep calm, relax, keep calm!!!!

TobyLerone · 24/12/2013 04:58

:o sultana
Very creative for just before 5am!

Sorry you're suffering, frying & frizz :(

loulou, you poor thing! Glad you could come home though.

I'm done with this weather now.

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 24/12/2013 05:39

Humpty - brilliant idea! Will be leaving a trail of bows from the front door to the boot. Unless I can badger Scott from next door to just lift it for me. Oh and PS: sister = fruitcake. She has previous. Tell her to do one.

Frizz and Choco - Urgh. Hope things settle down soon for you both. It's awful to be in pain like that and to not be able to much about it.

Hope everyone is managing to get some rest, I'm sending at least another hours worth of sleepy vibes back that way.

I'm trying to convince dd to get dressed so we can go and pick up this bloody bike and do the fresh food shop. At this rate at least one of us may still be in our Jim jams for the trip.

Sultanajo · 24/12/2013 05:48

Toby I do all my best work on very little sleep, which bodes well for when bubs arrives I guess!

Still frickin awake - just two sodding hours before I have to get up for the midwife. I just knew tonight would be shite for sleep! DH still snoring happily next to me!

Am now really hungry and thirsty too but determined to try and fall asleep, even for just half an hour, although bubs wriggling and kicking now will make it even more challenging!

Its so weird to think its Xmas eve today!!!

MrsVDB · 24/12/2013 06:45

Hope your ok choco sounds awful

frizz sounds like early labour to me,although first baby here so I'm no expert

Dh has just read texts on my phone from my evil sister earlier this week being nasty and one of the things she said was she wished I married on old boyfriend (from about 8 years ago!) instead. Completely random comment and just her attempt to upset me (which didn't work as its so ridiculous). Now Xmas tension is going to be even worse :( I'd said to my mum we wouldn't say anything (well all be staying there tonight and tomorrow) but dh is fuming. Great

fryingpantoface · 24/12/2013 07:21

Bloody hell mrs your sister isn't very nice!

frizz - i feel awful for you. I have my fingers tightly crossed that the baby is born soon. You need a break!

Sultana - love the poem!

good luck purple with the shopping today!

I've actually slept v well last night. I only woke up once, when i posted, but was asleep again about ten mins later. Ds woke up about 10 mins ago but I've convinced him it's still bed time.

Christmas eve is my favourite day of the year. Today we have our Christmas dinner, watch movies together and generally relax. Usually we would go on a hike but dh is refusing to go on one while I'm heavily pregnant.

later on my mil and fil will be coming for Christmas dinner and we'll exchange gifts, they will leave and we'll get bathed and bedded and watch a movie with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

tomorrow will be just us three and we are going to have a lazy breakfast, open presents, go for a walk, and just have the best day off from work you can imagine as dh is back in work on boxing day.

although ds and dh are asleep, I've gotten so excited about Christmas eve that i can't get back to sleep!

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 07:38

Yay I somehow fell asleep for about 2 hours. Have woken to more pains but not as bad as last night.

sultana that's very creative of you

sarah and mrsv heres hoping it's more but I wonder if I am just being a wimp. Not so good with pain (why am I having a baby and why am I determined to not have pain relief either)
No pain from my back but sometimes it seems to start in my bum and then work towards my fanjo.

only it's Xmas eve therefore pj's are considered proper clothing!

mrsv boo poop to evil sisters!

frying Yay for getting back to sleep and your Xmas eve and day sound wonderful. When I still lived at home we used to do a special Xmas eve with a buffet tea and we got to open non Santa gifts. I'll do it with my family eventually but atm me and dh are only buying each other 1 gift (budget) so saving that for tomorrow.

enormouse · 24/12/2013 08:08

Good morning ladies.

frizz glad to hear things have settled.

frying love Christmas eve too. I was planning on going for a walk but it's blowing a huge gale right now. May just content myself with staying in front of the fire and watching films.

Mrs your sister sounds a right cow (forgive the language please, couldn't think of a more diplomatic way of saying that)

Sultana - the poem is great.

only pyjamas are practically obligatory. I'm counting down the hours till I can get my new ones. I'm sure your DP is going to love his gift btw.

toby where in the country are you?

choco at least there's news on the induction front. Stay in bed and try to relax. Obvs were all behind you. Xmas Smile

tarka I did panic but I've doublechecked (and got dp to check) but the ergo is sold by ergo through Amazon and validated by them so it is legit afaik. If not then Amazon are under obligation to sort it/offer a refund

Dp has bought me tea and jam doughnuts in bed and were watching how I met your mother before ds wakes up. Feel a little spoiled.

MrsVDB · 24/12/2013 10:40

enormouse sounds lovely :)

frying have a lovely Christmas Eve, sounds brilliant!

I've been out shopping already today, got my birthing ball (£5 in argos) and my present from dh and printed photos for frames that I got as presents. Now need to pack and tidy/ clean house. Too tired already!

fryingpantoface · 24/12/2013 10:46

It's snowing!

GummiBear74 · 24/12/2013 10:48

What? Where?

quackojuliet · 24/12/2013 10:58

frying are you up north?

frizz really feel for you, think the only solution is to do bugger all in the day if you're not sleeping well. I also find that I can just about drop off but am woken an hour later by either periody pain or tightenings which the baby protests about so am kept awake uncomfortable or in mild pain.
Hope you are being looked after, same for choco you poor love with those bastard stones.
Happy xmas eve! I'm really not feeling xmassy this year, just gona be a lovely lazy couple of days with dh.

fryingpantoface · 24/12/2013 11:42

I'm in Bolton, near Manchester.

it's stopped now and gone all sunny, but it was lovely

Sultanajo · 24/12/2013 11:59

Glad you managed a couple of hours sleep frizz.

Just had midwife appointment but on the labour ward at the hospital this time! Cue a knackered Sultana freaking out completely! Made it feel very very real!!! Bubs is fully engaged. They have booked me in for a sweep next Tuesday if no signs of bubs coming by himself and will induce me by 8th Jan which is 12 days overdue....

Really want bubs to come this Friday on his due date as DH will then have a week off with us before he goes back to work.

Plus am getting really fecking uncomfortable now!

enormouse · 24/12/2013 12:13

I second you on the uncomfortableness sultana.
I managed to stagger to the corner shop and to my eyebrow waxing appointment. I can't move now. My hips and back are aching and I'm having what feel like BHs. Also feeling a little damp. Am hoping it's just preggo juice.

TobyLerone · 24/12/2013 12:50

I'm in Kent, enormouse.

My gate has completely blown down. I've got too much to do today to fix it, but I think I'm going to have to do something with it. It's hanging right off the hinges!

Marzipanning the cake in a minute, then got to go to grandad's to do his housework/change his bed, then probably fix the gate, ice the cake and go to MIL's this eve for Chinese. It means driving 45 mins away to the coast, so I hope the wind stays off.

I fell asleep again after being awake at 5am for an hour or so. Woke up at 10.13, and had to leap out of bed because I had to see the nurse at 10.30! Made it, though!
Then went to the cinema to buy a voucher for my friend's DD, delivered friend's DCs' presents to her, visited an elderly neighbour for an hour or so, and I've just had breakfast :o

Hope you're all having a much less manic Christmas eve!

Sultanajo · 24/12/2013 13:44

enormouse I feel your pain!!!

Toby seriously! You are properly superwoman!!!

Our neighbours fence is about to blow over! So thankful its not ours....we only recently fixed ours....

Mythreeknights · 24/12/2013 14:10

toby you are just amazing...can you rest or have some 'me time' yourself at all??

To all suffering with pre labour, bear with it as it sounds like your are all close.

To all those with tricky relatives, does it make you feel any better to know my 67 yr old dad has moved t the Dominican Republic where he has got himself an 18 yr old girlfriend, and he is building a house for her!!!!! Wtf. I see him about once a year...
