frying frankie and bennies sounds delish. Substitutions to shopping should not be allowed. They always switch it with something random. Nice that dh went and sorted it tho.

enormouse sounds like a very productive day to me. Sucks that mothercare didn't have the things you wanted though. What a lovely family Xmas tho. It's so nice to have a family tradition.

mrsv glad the monitoring went well and nice to know that baby is engaged. Explains the slow down in movements too.

only sounds like you have been v festive. Not sure how you'll sort the bike either.

blue and mrsv the rooms sound lovely and am sure they will look fab once they are finished. blue maybe open it slowly over a sink just in case!

Well I have continued to lose lumps of mucous plug through the rest of today and BHs have majorly ramped up this afternoon/evening too. Much more painful than yesterday but as they still haven't settled into a god damn pattern (last 30mins they have been between 4-8mins apart) I know it's not the real thing. This worries me slightly as not only do I just want them to stop or be the real thing, I know that the real thing will be more painful and I am not enjoying these ones at all.
Felt good this morning as they didn't seem to be happening much but am now feeling all sucky again.

BuntCadger · 23/12/2013 20:34

I have an ergo and its fab Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/12/2013 20:48

enormouse Mothercare are added to the shit list, along with John Lewis, and a few others I can't remember right this minute, but who are definitely going to get it.

MrsV glad all is well and you're home safe. Sitting down and resting is hard, eh? I've just spent the evening putting all my non-maternity clothes and spare sheets etc into vacuseal bags and putting them under the bed, and nesting suitcases, to put on top of wardrobes, making the spare room habitable for guests. Now I need to royal ice my christmas cake and put up decorations in the dining room. I have the energy now, so may as well use it - it'll be gone again soon!

blue sounds miserable - hope the buggers hurry the feck up and get it done. Bad sleep is the work of Satan, and you need your sk bed (we had one in our flat, they are lushness). Oh, and carpal tunnel can do one, and all.

only leave it in the boot. Put a bow on the boot and one on the car keys and put them in a box to give him. It'll be like a treasure hunt and make me chortle at the idea.

frizz sorry you're suffering again, have you spoken to the mws again?

Family drama of Christmas in Humpty House Episode One

DSis (30, going on 15), has phoned DM to say she now won't be coming down with DM to ours on Xmas Day. The reason being that her boyfriend of six weeks her one, her only, the love of her life will end up being on his own if she doesn't see him.

This is the same DSis who insisted we invite her previous boyfriend the one, the only, the love of her life to our wedding, despite him only having been her boyfriend for about 8 weeks. We did, we also paid for him and her to stay over (she was skint, thought we were being nice) and got no thank you, not even a wedding card (let's not mention wedding present) from either of them. He went on to defraud her of over £2K because of his gambling habit (had her card details, the stupid cow) and dump her.

Previous to that, her boyfriend before that one, the one, the only, the one she was going to marry was an illegal immigrant who beat her and landed her in hospital.

The one a few back from him used to lock her in the house when he went to work, and take the car, so she was stranded in the middle of the countryside. Oh, and hit her.

I'm putting all this lovely detail so's you can understand why I'm a tiny bit wary of her boyfriends.
She's now said she wants him invited here, or she's not coming. Oh, and he has family here in the UK (he's Polish) but they have arranged things so they can't see him.

Hmm

WIBU to tell her to get to the far side of fuck and stay there?

Grin

And it's not even Christmas Eve yet

fryingpantoface · 23/12/2013 21:06

Humpty - I'd go with "it's a shame we wont see you on the day, but let's get together in town on blah blah day"

i wouldn't back down. He could be a right weirdo!

Mythreeknights · 23/12/2013 21:09

humpty having dealt with a manipulative mother most of my life, my advice would be to tell your sister 'no ring no bring' I.e. not welcome unless they are engaged...I used this with my bro last Xmas when wary of his new girlfriend (whilst still married to his wife, separated but not divorced). He understood. My mother also throws toys out of her pram and so far I have picked them all up patiently, but now I'm very much 'oh just fuck off' and goodness I feel better for it.

Mythreeknights · 23/12/2013 21:11

At more Xmas family dramas?? Would love to hear about families more insane than mine Grin

Mythreeknights · 23/12/2013 21:12

That was supposed to read 'any' not 'at' stupid predictive text

TarkaTheOtter · 23/12/2013 21:25

I love my ergo but I'd be a bit wary about that discount. I've heard of people receiving fake ethos from amazon on parenting forums before.

Toothfairy78 · 23/12/2013 21:30

Stop press guys,

freddie my old housemate, lovely pal n due date(ish) buddy in Oz has just had her son Alexander 7lb4oz 2 hours ago!

Really chuffed for her! ToothJr seems to be excited too, but has been told to stay put despite the curry dinner!

fryingpantoface · 23/12/2013 21:33

How lovely!

TobyLerone · 23/12/2013 21:33

I think frying has the right of it, humpty. What an awkward situation.

Don't be envious of my so-called get up and go. It's got up and gone :o
I have wrapped all the presents, but that was about it.

The cake never got marzipanned, which means I'll have to do it first thing tomorrow and ice it later in the afternoon, which is Bad.

Going to Sainsbury's in a bit. So that'll be nice Hmm

As for labour signs, none here. The baby's head isn't engaged, BHs are the same as ever (slightly painful and making me need to wee!), my pelvis is killing me and I'd be happy to have the thread's Christmas baby but it ain't gonna happen!

Hope today went well, another.

sarahleanne · 23/12/2013 21:35

any news from another?

frizz I have joined you in the bh's club!

toby where the bloody hell do you get your energy from.

so my lovelies, went to the bloody hospital AGAIN to have bp checked. Still borderline high so not fussed about that. They put me on the monitor and bang I start contracting 3 in 10 minutes regularly, babies heart rate drops at every contraction, midwife panicks and grabs registrar who then decides I have to be monitored for hours.6 in total! Eventually get a good enough trace once the contractions die down and I was allowed home.
DH panicked and was saying he will email his boss and tell him he needs to get off the rig but I told him to wait s contractions were not painful but reaching 50% on the machine.
The midwife was desperate to do an internal the whole time but I refused as when I had one with DD my waters broke straight after and I did not want that to happen whilst DH is bloody light years away Confused. Not gunna lie though, I so want to know if I'm even a teeny tiny bit dilated now, stupid DH's pissin' job. I actually think she would of given me a sneaky sweep aswell the way she was talking about it, bollocks!

BandontheFun · 23/12/2013 21:36

Percy I have a triangle belly as well. Didn't realise it was something to worry about. Will have to watch how I'm getting up now.

Humpty I have the opposite problem with one of my brothers he has been with his girlfriend for over 10 years. They stay like 15min away so distance is not even any excuse. I have met her less than a handful of times. My wedding and my dads funeral! Which means trying to get a Christmas present for her is a major pain in the ass. He just keeps her away from us no idea why...we are a lovely bunch...not scary at all! :) my other SIL is lovely its a shame really..I mean she is gonna be the baby's aunt.

Frizz1986 · 23/12/2013 21:42

humpty i agree with the others. Say it's a pity that you wont be seeing her for Xmas.

Haven't called the mws again as I don't think they are bothered at this point unless they are regular or my waters go. As I am over 37 weeks they aren't really concerned what happens yet. I am also not sure if I am just being a wimp as I suck at pain so the rest of you could be having the same as me but it not be painful at all.

tooth thats so nice.

toby at this point I would also be very happy with an Xmas baby even though before it was my worst nightmare, now I just want it to be over and baby to be out. God knows how painful I am going to find the real thing if I am being a wimp over BHs.

sarahleanne · 23/12/2013 21:43

oh shit I have the triangle belly too, argh I hate baby bellies I am NOT looking forward to the saggy belly bit after babies born haha Blush

Sultanajo · 23/12/2013 21:49

Oh blimey humpty! I too would gloss over the fact she said she wants to bring him. The track record would really worry me! She will get over it. 6 weeks FFS is frickin no time at all!

Loving your email to EDF! When we moved in the previous owners had used them and trying to get a final bill was an absolute nightmare! Dragged on for months!

frizz poor you! You are really going through it! Hope you get some sleep tonight...

Well my little monkey is being super active today, after having a pretty quiet one yesterday. If he isn't kicking and wriggling I am having BHs! It was interesting earlier trying to pee while being punched in the bladder and cervix at the same time. Its very reassuring to feel so much movement but its also been quite painful. Bless his little cottons!

Got midwife first thing tomorrow at the hospital. We may need a boat to get there though at this rate as our road looks like a river! Have not known rain like it for ages! Picked up my car from the garage and when I got home and got out of the car I was instantly soaked, as though I had got into the shower with my clothes on!!! Crazy!!

Really hoping the rain holds off tomorrow until we are back home....

Hope everyone is ok and staying safe and warm indoors....

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 22:03

humpty I have family dramas too! My sister is a bit like yours. Got engaged the week of my wedding to a boyfriend of 6 months as it would be nice to celebrate both things with all the family... Umm no its my wedding! Unsurprisingly they split. Now she's pregnant with number 3 (dad unclear) and apparently was due 6 weeks after me, now date has miraculously changed to 3 weeks after me and wouldn't surprise me if she pops hers out the same day as mine. She's also very dramatic and keeps calling the ambulance for migraines even though they keep saying she's fine. Waiting for the Christmas Day dramas now. Yawn

quackojuliet · 23/12/2013 22:05

Ditto to staying indoors and warm, sounds like armageddon out there.

I've felt very weird today. Espec this evening - very tired and hungry every 5 minutes, almost like dreadful first tri.
Went to sleep at 8pm but woke up at 9ish with periody pains so have taken paracetmol and hoping they eff off.

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 22:06

Also my tummy is literally splitting! Huge red stretch marks that have flecks of blood in them! Ouch!

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 22:07

sarah sounds like it could be soon for you. How long does it take your dh to get home? Maybe if he could leave soon?

sarahleanne · 23/12/2013 22:21

mrsv he's out in the north sea and the last flight was today until the 27th Hmm.He's not supposed to be coming back until a few days before i'm due so I'm hoping baby stays put. I am also in complete denial I will be early because my other 2 were induced Grin
ohh the dreaded stretch marks, don't worry they will fade Smile

Angelesque · 23/12/2013 22:39

Re: stretch marks - I got my first this week. Using that Mum and Me stretch mark applicator thing like mad...

quacko sounds like your body is banking sleep and food in prep for the big day! Exciting!

chocoloulou34 · 23/12/2013 23:31

Hello ladies. Been to my 2nd home again 2day. Yep hospital. Took a rly sudden bad turn last night from completely nowhere as was feeling so much better but woke up in agony. Managed about an hour before oh rang hospital where they told me to get in asap. Went in and had to have morphine as pain in kidney was back as well as the bladder pain. Never had both at same time and horrendous doesn't quite cover it. Lots of blood in wee and they certain stones trying to pass or break up. I didnt wanna be in hospital over xmas so they have given me oral morphine to take at home to get me thru til induction date. Not ideal taking such strong drugs but only gonna take it if im desperate which atm I am but hoping it will ease up again. So thats been my crappy day. Hope ur all well and will have a good read thru in mornk g when im more with it. Can see ive missed no baby news 2day. Maybe 2moro :)

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/12/2013 23:58

frying, mythree, toby, frizz, sultana - excellent. That's enough people saying the same thing that I will be all calm and 'oh, that's a shame' about it, and ignore calm my frantic DM down if I can but essentially just carry on as usual.
MrsV she sounds identical to mine - are you me? Younger sister? I hope hers pops out the day after you so that all the fuss is about you and her plan backfires
I, too, am waiting for the Christmas Day dramas... Aren't we lucky?

MrsV and angel I had one of those my body is splitting open stretchmarks. On my BOOB.
Ta for that. Hmm

tooth yay - how cool! MOAR babies!

sarahl - stay inside until 27th, babysarah. Hope you feel okay now.

toby heh, marzipanning and icing IN ONE DAY? You rebel.

band your brother sounds a bit antisocial...

quacko go with it - I think (hippy alert) at this stage you body knows what it needs. No point trying to make it do things it can't. In my case, I can't live without opening the Quality Street, so that's what I'm going to do...

Oh choco you poor poor love. You really are having the shittest time of it. Hope the stupid bloody pain goes away soon, and that you get the best Christmas pressies from Santa to make up for all this suffering.

Right. Cake is iced, washing is done (third load today), clothes are all put away, raspberry tea is drunk, I'm for bedfordshire.
Happy Very Nearly Christmas Eve ladies!

Frizz1986 · 24/12/2013 01:49

So still awake with contractions every 3-6 mins so still not regular therefore not real ones. God this is awful.
Think dh has managed to fall asleep through the moans I am making. I hope he manages to get some rest as I don't think I will tonight.
