Frizz1986 · 23/12/2013 12:37

My god toby how the hell do you have energy to do all that?

mrsv glad the lie down worked.

quack and fly sorry about the night cramps. I guess our bodies are all starting to get ready for the big day.

Well i think my plug has gone.... Just wiped and there was a nice marble sized blob of what looked like jello. Not massive maybe a the size of a 1p.
I told dh and he wanted to come see. He said it looks a bit like the globs of glue that stay on packets only bigger and wobbly.
I assume that could be what it was anyway.....

Having a lie down now as those damn BHs are coming back again. At least i made it until lunchtime today before they really started.

quackojuliet · 23/12/2013 12:40

Wow frizz your body is definitely gearing up! Make sure you're resting and eating well, getting your energy as you don't know when the real thing will start. As they say, could be hours days or weeks! Gah

TarkaTheOtter · 23/12/2013 12:41

I'm nesting like crazy today. Have just bleached the kitchen grouting. Has made a massive difference. Poor dh had to work today after feeling all festive and holiday-like over the weekend. Looking forward to tomorrow to start Christmas properly!

Anyone else having no signs of labour at all? Just business as usual here, a few bh but otherwise no sign of anything starting. I'm 37 weeks today.

Frizz1986 · 23/12/2013 12:46

tarka my BHs only really kicked off at 37 weeks and am only 37+3 today. Am sure i will still be last to pop regardless of all the gearing up my body seems to be doing.
I am resigned to suffering for the next few weeks!

TarkaTheOtter · 23/12/2013 12:49

Hope you don't have to wait too long frizz! I'm not particularly upset about the lack of labour as I am being induced next Monday anyway and I think I'd quite like to have Christmas first now.

GummiBear74 · 23/12/2013 13:07

tarka, I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and nothing going on whatsoever! Baby hasn't dropped (still have big bum sticking out at the top of my bump and lovely acid reflux), no BH, no plug, no anything.

DH keeps saying to people that it could be any time now, but I think baby has other ideas Grin

Sounds like it's getting exciting for you, though frizz!

Spacefrog35 · 23/12/2013 13:25

Wow! How exciting. Congratulations extra & felix Xmas Grin

Hope everyone else has a couple of days off from the aches & BH's so they can enjoy Christmas Brew

No more babies now until Thursday ok ladies Thanks

Angelesque · 23/12/2013 14:01

Tarka only had signs last few days... Strong BHs, period pains, pains on cervix... LOVELY :) bump has dropped slightly so would guess baby is maybe just starting to engage? Might just be wishful thinking. Am 35 weeks tomorrow

Mythreeknights · 23/12/2013 14:18

Just clocking in to wish another good luck

I have had a lovely morning...midwife home visit to talk about home birth, facial (my first ever! I am an idiot...they are lush and I plan to treat myself more now) collected the turkey, fit butcher told me I have a 'lovely accent' and now eating a scone in a cafe. Ahhhh bliss.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/12/2013 15:42

tarka no signs here either - no extra pregnajuice, the same (painless - sorry ladies!) BHs as I've had before, no more no less, no plug, no blood, no cramps, nothing. Zilch. Although I have been sleeping longer, so waking up needing to pee so badly it's a sharp pressing pain-like need Grin but I think that's my innate laziness - doesn't hurt to pee, so not a UTI, and only going twice a night, which isn't much...

Which of course means I'll be next. Probably in the middle of Christmas dinner don't you dare spoil our delicious goose fat roasties, naughty child Grin

frizz oooooh, might be you next! Sorry your BHs spoilt your weekend with family, but I'm sure you will be able to hug them to your hearts' content next time you see them.

toby Wow, I thought I was productive! I can marzipan the cake if you like - I've practiced on mine and it looks okay. Save you a job? Grin

Weather is VILE - we went to Sainsbos for a few last bits (ended up buying a leg of lamb as it was SO CHEAP) and was practically blown over on the way there. Not v Christmassy, Gods of Weather. Hope everyone travelling is safe and well.

I sent a VERY cross email to EDF this morning - boring tale of them fucking up - but it ended 'Oh, and P.S. I'm due to have a baby on the 3rd Jan. If you haven't sorted this problem by then, you'll have to wait at least six weeks, as I'll be in no mood to talk to you with a newborn in the house- since I've been waiting eight weeks for you to close the account and do your jobs, I assume this won't be any kind of issue?' Grin

fryingpantoface · 23/12/2013 16:41

I cant get over how productive people are!

frizz - best of luck!
another - any news?

I've had a great day. Since leaving the hospital my belly has been painful and had stabby feelings all over it.

i slept until 8 as dh got up with ds. There was some stupid substitutions at asda so i need to go to Asda, but dh said he'd go.

family came over and we spent the day laughing. Went to Frankie and Bennie's for lunch, there was 6 adults and 4 under 4s. It was lovely. Then came back to ours and the children all played together which was sweet to see.

roll on tomorrow!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/12/2013 17:29

frying yeah - but a) we (speaking as a productive one) don't have all the early labour signs you have had and b) I (I know this doesn't apply to, e.g. Toby) don't have any DC either.

Much easier to be productive this way. Grin

Talk to me in about a year - see how productive I am then.

Oh, and online shopping that has stupid substitutions should NOT BE ALLOWED.

enormouse · 23/12/2013 17:48

Hey all, hope your all doing well.

frying your wee one is a trouble maker. But your day sounds lovely.

Feel sorry for the ladies with BHs, cramps and general tiredness. Break out the chocolate and non alcoholic mulled wine is what I say!

toby I wish I had your get up and go. I am shattered after a pretty full on day.

Spent today in town getting last minute things so that's Christmas stuff done as far as it can be. Had to do it without the pram which was fun.

Also rang up mothercare to set up a babyplan to get things I need for Ds2. They were a bit shit tbh. None of their Babyplan team are in, can't I go instore to set one up? Errm...no that's why I've rung up. They don't have any of the things I want anyway. Great. humpty please add them to your justice list for when you're queen.

We're having our family Christmas today as tomorrow at a friend's and Christmas day at dps parents. So I've made our Christmas dinner today - roast ham, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots with braised cabbage. Dp has put on Tim Burton's batman now which is our Christmas tradition. So I'm feeling a little festive if tired.

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 17:59

Just back from being monitored. All is ok. 3/5 engaged which is why I assume movements feel different than previously. I had 2+ ketones even though I'd eaten quite a bit today and hour before I went and my pulse was high. Apparently should eat, drink and relax more. Easier said than done with Christmas, making the house into a house rather than a building site and lots of baby bits I haven't yet sorted!

Bluecarrot · 23/12/2013 18:08

Well, plasterer has been and due to start work in our bedroom and nursery by jan 11th. 5 days after baby due.

On plus side, I don't have to manage stairs (sciatica making it sore) or feel pressured to finish sewing for nursery ( carpal tunnel making me numb/in pain) but I'm a little sad we won't be bringing her home to the gorgeous nursery I had planned.

Then I think of the babies being born in Syria and Philippines and think how lucky this little one is. :(

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/12/2013 18:11

Honestly, you get busy for a couple of days and look what happens!!

Huge congrats to Felix and extra! How exciting, and what beautiful names. Hope you are both basking in the newborn glow.

Frying, another, frizz - hope things are going well for you all - who's going to be next!?

Enormouse your day sounds lovely. We are very festive here too. Have a bottle of m&s non alcohol sparkly grape open and the selection box of biscuits.

Everybody else I hope you're all well and hanging in there.

It's been hectic here the past few days. DD has been off nursery since Thursday, and we've been running around doing last minute bits and bobs, and entertaining her. I took her to see Frozen yesterday and then we popped into waitrose to pick up odds and ends. Spent the afternoon baking biscuits and mince pies, which she iced and decorate with the worlds supply of sprinkles. She slept in till 8.45 this morning so I think we were both exhausted. I had to keep checking on her to make sure she as alive as she's normally a 7am not he nose riser. Of course I could just enjoy the peace and quiet like a normal person! Much more chilled today, mostly watching movies and tidying up.

Tomorrow I have to go collect DH's Christmas present (I bought him a bike) and I'm hoping someone will put it in the car for me. God knows how I'm going to get it out this end. I might just have to throw the boot open come Christmas morning and shout 'tadaaa!' Or something!

No rumblings here, but I suppose I'm only 36w today. A few cramps, dizzy spells etc... Hopefully nothing will happen in the next week or so, so we can relax for Christmas. Plus I've not washed all the wee clothes yet!

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 18:11

blue I doubt ours will be ready either but they don't sleep in there for first 6 months anyway so I wouldn't worry. More time to get it perfect :)

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/12/2013 18:13

Ooh Blue, I have terrible carpal tunnel too. Another delightful thing I never experienced first time round. Don't pressure yourself to do any of those things - the baby won't care either way, and you have the rest of your life to make things 'perfect' Smile

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 18:20

percy I also get the pointy tummy when I sit up and have from pretty early on. I didn't realise it was a bad thing, just thought it was quite funny. Serves me right for doing no exercise oops

Bluecarrot · 23/12/2013 18:21

MrsVBD- it's our bedroom as well as the nursery. We are sleeping in the living room ATM!

Purple - can you take a photo of the bike and put it inside a box to gift it?

I didn't have carpal tunnel last time either. No swelling at all in fact. But this is making me feel v v ill. Got physio and wrist things but they are worse because they make my arm cramp. Not sure if its part of it, but I feel like both my funny bones have been hit and the shooting crampy pains go right to my fat fingers!

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 18:57

blue it's very stressful isn't it! We recently had our room (and nursery) plastered and got to put bed back up which was lovely. Still need to do flooring, skirting and finish painting but its getting there. Think how lovely itl be when it's done

I've got carpel tunnel too but no arm cramps or funny bone pain. Only hands and wrists a bit

Bluecarrot · 23/12/2013 19:35

We are ordering a superking bed in new year ( when we know it can be delivered and be built straight away!) Could have done with it now as struggling to sleep beside DP ATM but no room for it downstairs plus hoping to buy the bedding in the jan sales ( picked and bookmarked some for easy sale shopping) but room will be a white and grey minimalist santuary, with pops of purple in the accessories. Aiming for hotel sleek. Can't wait!

Just dropped a 2l bottle of 7up ( stupid numb hands!) how long til its safe to open do you reckon? Should I put a warning label on it overnight?!

MrsVDB · 23/12/2013 19:38

blue sounds lovely. We've gone for grey too (with 1 wall of pink/ cream wallpaper). Can't wait until its done. Super king sounds great! We only have a king :(

I'd open it v slowly and you should be ok...

fryingpantoface · 23/12/2013 20:12

Blue that sounds lovely! As does yours Mrs!

we have a double, I'm really wishing we had gone for the king, but we'll do that next time, probably in about five years time!

dh made me cry. I was saying how this will be the first Christmas since i was 8 when i haven't got new pjs for Christmas eve. So he got me some. When he showed me them he said "i got this size, not because you are this size, but because you're pregnant and i want you to be comfy". He's a love

enormouse · 23/12/2013 20:17
