Currently watching Harry potter in bed with a pineapple and lemonade and a bowl of onion ring crisps...heaven!!

Missvaughan85 · 22/12/2013 21:25

I've swapped from Harry potter, just watching a bit of sex and the city. It never gets old!! Yeh I love stuffing. I have just recently taken to eating it on its own though.
I did a digi this afternoon. 3+ yeh. I keep telling myself that it obviously means that it's progressing. 6 weeks now till scan. Nervous as hell!! And I think my SPD is returning but earlier. Walked around today doing last minute shopping and tonight pelvis was hurting.
I've got a cup of tea. It's one thing u can't give up. The coffee has gone but I'm a tea freak x x

Feelingfatty · 22/12/2013 21:31

Have you switched to decaf miss v? I've found it to be just as good tasting?? Obviously not judging non decaf! I still have non decaf when out and about so people don't suspect!!! Ah I did two digis last week! One Monday 2-3 weeks and one Thursday 3+ GrinGrinGrin made me feel better to!!! I haven't got my scan date yet Hmm was hoping to get it last week! Doctor sent of paperwork Thursday 12th! Not sure when it'll come through!! What date is yours??

Missvaughan85 · 22/12/2013 21:54

No haven't switched to de caf. Didn't last time. I don't drink as much as normal. I do tend to drink more water now. Especially in work. So don't feel guilty. I don't drink alcohol either. Even when not pregnant and I've cut out all the bad foods to eat. So normal tea ain't so bad.
Dr said midwife won't see me till after 12 week scan and haven't had that app through yet. Boo!!! I'll be 12 at end of jan so hoping to see or hear of something before. I have booked an early scan for 8+2 though x x

Feelingfatty · 22/12/2013 22:14

I drink bucket loads of tea which is why I've had to switch! Wouldn't if I could stick to guidelines!! Oh it's the same for me! Don't see midwife until after scan! Strange! Wasn't like that with dd! Hope early scan goes well!!

miserywaterfall · 22/12/2013 23:02

Name! I am the exact same with that feeling of If I Don't Eat Right Now I WILL KILL SOMEONE!! It's like a switch gets flicked and my body goes MUST EEEEAT!

yummiemummieuk · 22/12/2013 23:24

Thanks for the birthday wishes ladies :) it was strange having my 30th away from home :/ but lovely bf made it nice as poss-cake/balloons/cooking etc my first birthday in 14 years not drinking! Lol
My eating is kinda normal ATM but I'm getting really gippy! The house is a tip so need to muster the energy from sonewhere to clean it today although all I feel like doing is sleeping! I'm sooo ready to fly home ATM-think its hormones and Xmas making me feel this way :(
Hope you are all well, Xmas is a challenging time to be pregnant I think haha
Planning on getting some Xmas movies to rent today including home alone!

PinaColadas · 23/12/2013 07:17

Glad you had a good birthday yummymummy I'm glad to hear it's not just my house that's a tip! DH never usually does much cleaning but has started to recently, I think he has realised that I've given up! I just can't be bothered to do anything at all!!

Missvaughan85 · 23/12/2013 08:03

No with dd I saw gp, then midwife was free same time and then I saw her again about a month later. I'd feel reassured if I saw her and she thought everything was ok. Sorry if tmi, I've had cramps this morning as my bowels are playing silly buggers with me!!!

Feelingfatty · 23/12/2013 08:04

Glad you had a great birthday :)

HungryHorace · 23/12/2013 08:51

I wish I felt more consistently pregnant! Not so sick today, just a bit off colour. I'd like regular sickness please. :-)

Glad you enjoyed your birthday, yummie.

Pregnancy = dodgy bowels, doesn't it, MissV?!

Ruggle · 23/12/2013 08:59

Am I the only person who had never heard of the word "gippy" before seeing it on this thread? I'm guessing from the context that it's somewhat unwell...but is it a replacement for the word "sick" now that the youf-of-today use it to mean "really good"? I mean, if I tell my little 20-something friends from a band I know that I'm feeling sick they'll say "Great man!".......
I think I'm just old!

yummiemummieuk · 23/12/2013 09:00

Thanks pina feeling and hungry!
I've got dodgy bowels too missv !!!
Today was a bad day for morning sickness! Blurgh! No actual sick just lots of gipping! On the bus mainly and people wee looking at me. I tried to push out my swollen tummy and eat lots of ginger to show I was pregnant and not suffering from a hangover- I'm not sure it worked! Lol
Hope everyone's good and ready for Xmas? I managed to clean today so bit of food prep Tom (Xmas eve) and then relax :D

yummiemummieuk · 23/12/2013 09:02

Haha ruggle it's where you retch! Not "sick" at all :( x

Ruggle · 23/12/2013 09:03

Oh!

Polkadot1 · 23/12/2013 09:41

Feeling sick sick sick! I had a dream last night that I went to a wedding and they served a sausage casserole which was raw and full of offal! Woke up feeling v v v v sick, and wretched telling DH!

mssleepyhead · 23/12/2013 09:46

Oddly jealous of everyone's sickness! I have none yet, but have read morning sickness = lower chance of miscarriage. I'm just off my food. I normally eat so much, but right now I'm not even f

mssleepyhead · 23/12/2013 09:46

Finishing meals!

(Or messages, apparently. Sorry for the premature posting!)

PinaColadas · 23/12/2013 09:50

Ruggle Ha to me feeling sick is still feeling green, I don't really understand it when people say 'ooh thats sick man' haha.

But yes, gip and gipping is when you retch... Something which i'm doing lots of!

PinaColadas · 23/12/2013 09:52

mssleepyhead It's funny how some people are sick and can't face food, for me food is the cure for my feeling sick. Facing it initially is awful, but once I start it makes me feel much better. I'm usually a real sweet toothed person but I can't get enough savoury food at the moment. That and satsumas!

Ruggle · 23/12/2013 09:59

Where did you hear that mssleepyhead? I had morning sickness with daily vom with my mmc, but very little this time. Occasional bad nausea but mostly very mild or none. My sister had has horrendous sickness that's only just easing at 14 weeks or so and her doc keeps telling her it's a good sign (hormones doing their thing) but I suspect that's just to make it more bearable. I know plenty of people who've had little to no nausea and had several very healthy kids each.

Ruggle · 23/12/2013 10:14

Just found a random article about a study into it....which says morning sickness evolved to protect women against parasites in food, especially meat....and that non-meat-eating societies have low occurrence of morning sickness. Fascinating!

2beornot · 23/12/2013 10:22

Hi all!!!

No symptoms here at all. I was feeling nauseous before so now worrying that's there's something wrong. I think might book a private scan in the new year (will be 10 weeks by then so is it worth it?!!) coz I'm worried!'

lucyfluff · 23/12/2013 10:24

Oh god polka that dream comment almost made me sick!!! I feel awful again this morning, had to make DH go and buy croissants this morning couldnt stomach anything else!!

I heard morning sickness is a sign of a strong pregnancy?! not sure how scientific that is though as all previous Ive never felt this bad and they were fine!!!

We are off bowling in a bit to get out of the house, the weather has been awful here and then tmrw is xmas baking with the boys Smile Smile

Glad you had a fab 30th ukmummie xx

mssleepyhead · 23/12/2013 10:50

read about the morning sickness thing in Expecting Better, the only pregnancy book i've got so far. it was quite a convincing argument, but certainly doesn't mean no sickness=miscarriage.

just back from my first doctor's appointment. booking in appointment with midwife made for 28 january, when if all goes to plan i'll be 10 weeks. peed in a pot and got my pregnancy notes booklet. and that's it. still. exciting. made it feel a bit more official!
