Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MarlenaGru · 20/12/2013 06:40

I have my work Christmas party tonight and I just can't be bothered when I look fat in all dresses and have to watch all my colleagues get drunk. At least my dad is fetching me afterwards. A perk of having them live with us for a while!

MarlenaGru · 20/12/2013 06:42

super even if you do get to the shops only newlook and h&m seem to do maternity in store these days. The rest are online only. I have one pair of trousers until my order from 2 weeks ago finally arrives (thanks yodel) and I have a few tops that will drown me for a few more months.

Stretchy dresses are my friend at the moment, except that as I seem to be getting fatter they are looking a lot less flattering.

Bumblebeesmum · 20/12/2013 07:34

I thought baby genitals look the same on boys & girls till about 16 weeks? I could be wrong ??

Bumblebeesmum · 20/12/2013 07:45

I am wrong - apparently early identification has been known at 12-14 weeks with 80% success rate compared to 98% at 20 (80 is pretty good to me!) & usually any wrong are boys. That's incredible - if I'd known I'd have watched closer!

For those in places where they won't tell you gender & you can't afford a private scan - apparently most will give you a picture of genital area if you ask for you to go away & determine

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 20/12/2013 07:57

Eww. I've been up since 5, about 4 hours of sleep, the room keeps spinning and I don't know whether I'll throw up or pass out. DH is just about to leave for work but I've had to ask him to take a half day and come back to take me to my GP appointment as I don't trust myself to drive up there alone.

Thought it was getting better!

Bumblebeesmum · 20/12/2013 08:07

Sorry Bee :(

Redcliff · 20/12/2013 08:17

Oh bee - that sounds awful. Hope your drs appointment goes ok.

Super - thanks for your kind words . Antibiotics have kicked in a little bit so have decided to go into work . I feel you on the clothes front - I am really struggling to find a decent pair of work trousers . I tried next online but had none in my size, aos only had ones with stripes down the side and by that point the sofa was calling me. Stretchy dresses with mat tights at least make me look pregnant rather than fat .

cjbk1 · 20/12/2013 08:25

with the exception of emergency rota on 31st am I'm off from yesterday until the 6th as I only do mon-wed Wink
the only problem is my 'colleague' will upset me all the more after I've had a break from her and forgotten how bad she is Confused unprofessional bullying harridan
and I'm so busy; for example today it's christtingle service early pick up and rainbows family party and tomorrow it's eyebrows optician and cake decorating class!!
I'm trying to avoid maternity clothes as long as poss....

ohcluttergotme · 20/12/2013 08:40

Morning lovey ladies.
Hope everyone surviving the madness of the build up to Christmas especially if you already have children as it's quite crazy!
Funeral yesterday was sad but over 300 people there so think that must of been some comfort to his family.
Wishing everyone well today and hope all the pregnancy hormones not too difficult with all the children's things! Smile

SleepyNess · 20/12/2013 09:05

I'm actually quite Ok with clothes. Have loads of dresses, some if them taken in just below boobs (can't remember the correct name for this cut) and they hug my bump rather nicely. Skirts are also good though I never zip them up properly - no one can see the zip with longish tops.

Morning all. Last workday before holiday!!!!

Riblet · 20/12/2013 10:04

Good to know there's someone else having twins Molly. We found out at the 12wk scan and it was a total shock as there are none in the family and no indication that there was more than one (worse symptoms etc). It's a bit daunting since this is my first pregnancy but we're both really excited - I always wanted twins but never thought I'd have them! How do you feel about it? Most people have said "ooh, you'll have your hands full, life will never be the same again", which whilst true is not exactly a revelation! I have generally gone along with it but I think from now on I'll just humour them by smiling graciously, saying I'm not worried and it will all be fine Wink

I wish I could eat satsumas and drink orange juice as I love it but the heartburn just won't allow it- even with bland food and lots of gaviscon it's really bad atm. Have a previous history of stomach ulcers so definitely need to get to docs before xmas to get some of the harder stuff, otherwise the food (best part of xmas IMO) won't be much fun!

Hope you're feeling better Redcliff, Bee and anyone else who's poorly.

Even though bump is starting to come up a bit my tummy still looks like flab rather than babies because it is . This week have abandoned the jeans (oh, the relief!) and moved into leggings or jeggings and long jumpers. Not maternity but just in a bigger size, which looks ok at the moment as skims everything and they still have growth room. I got mine from Matalan and if I have time, might have another look in there tomorrow and get a few more. They have decent longish tops as well for about £8, again just got 2 sizes bigger. They do have a maternity section but I'm leaving that til a bit later.

Last day at work today, woop woop! Grin

Lmf679 · 20/12/2013 11:30

For those of you struggling with clothes I found loads on ASOS and they have a sale on at the min. I also found Gap were good for basics but they are only online for maternity wear. I had a little look in H&M and New Look and selection was very poor. Haven't ventured into Topshop yet but that's next on my list.

jaykay987 · 20/12/2013 11:37

Next was best for me for jeans and trousers.

Just had a call from fmc. My harmony results are delayed and won't be ready by Tuesday. I asked if they had failed, and she said no. Just that it would take more time. Hate limbo!

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 20/12/2013 11:46

I've had more sleep! I feel almost like a human being. Xmas Grin

jaykay Grr, that's annoying - at least (small comfort) you'll get them before Christmas.

I have two maternity jeans, though one still needs to be hemmed - I have long legs but it's clearly made for some sort of plus-size model who's 6' 3''. They're more comfy now that my bump is bigger and fits better into the elastic - I have a lot of long jumpers and a few pintuck shirts that should fit over the bump for a good while to come, and I have a stash of leggings and 4 skater dresses.

So that should do me until the last trimester, when I might have to get a maternity dress and jumper...

jaykay987 · 20/12/2013 11:57

no bee that's what is annoying. we were due to get the results Tuesday (christmas eve) now they are estimating 31st. Grrrrrr

InTheBEEwitchedWinter · 20/12/2013 11:59

Oh feck, I must've read that wrong, I thought you were getting them on Tuesday, sorry!

That is really annoying!!!

panicmechanic · 20/12/2013 12:40

Oh no JayKay that is annoying!

Lady sorry you are also in the same situ as me. FMC were really good and have given me good subsequent advice. I know you wouldn't have an amnio/cvs but the guy that invented the cvs owns FMC - thought you might find this reassuring

I have a consultant appointment today snd they have cancelled the cvs for today

LadyGoneGaga · 20/12/2013 12:58

That's interesting, panic. I think he also invented the nuchal scan so it will be interesting to see what risk factor they come up with from just the nuchal as they are repeating it there. All my measurements looked good, they are purely going off the hormone results so will have to see.

How come your CVS is cancelled? Are you rescheduling? My plan is that if Harmony comes back high risk I will go to amnio as should be 15 weeks by then and it is marginally lower risk than CVS. But hoping it won't come to that. Good luck with your consultant appointment.

Have you had your nuchal results back yet, Jaykay? They rang me with mine due to it being bad news and only took 5 days. Annoying you won't gte Harmony pre-Xmas though. I'm betting mine will take ages with it being over Christmas but really hope they fasttrack them a bit if they can as they already know it's high risk. Will see what they say.

Had my work Xmas do last night. Always "interesting" stone cold sober Hmm

jaykay987 · 20/12/2013 13:09

I've had my nhs nuchal scan. Measurement is 2.5mm but the combined results will only be back 6th jan. They didn't say anything, but Dr Google says that's higher than expected.

I have fmc nuchal scan on Christmas Eve. I asked today and she said they should fast track my combined bloods so they can give me a "score". My understanding is they don't normal give this to you - they just give you the harmony results. But as I won't have them, they should be able to give me something.

I'm not sure how much control they have over the speed of the US clinic. But you should definitely ask.

SleepyNess · 20/12/2013 13:26

Jay, I was told by the sonographer that the risk is higher if measurement is above 2.5. Don't worry too much, there are two more factors to take in!

Liquidambar · 20/12/2013 13:33

jaykay my nuchal value was 2.1 and my results came back as low risk. the sonographer said she wouldn't be worry with any values lower than 3 and that values on its own don't mean much. Hope this can reassure you a bit more.

This is my first day of Christmas break. Saw my gp this morning because my tummy has been really sore. I know pregnancy doesn't do any good to my IBS. Anyone else with ibs problems??? Gp was very good and will try yo refer me to the gastro team.

LadyGoneGaga · 20/12/2013 13:36

Well, it's good you'll get the FMC nuchal results on Christmas eve, Jaykay. I will be at the FMC the day before you! My sonographer also said that under 3 is classed as normal. Waiting is so hard Sad.

panicmechanic · 20/12/2013 13:50

Hi JayKay, FMC gave me both results (combined and harmony). My NHS measurement was 1.6 and I came back high risk when all combined so don't worry as its a collective result not just a measurement. Btw my consultant said they dont worry about measurements until over 3. Hope that helps! I am still sitting in hospital waiting to see the fetal expert as my consultant referred me after my sesdion. As time is of the essence re cvs we are having to decide today what to do. Also seeing if I can have whatever treatment they are suggesting after my DH and DD get back after Xmas.

coldofhands · 20/12/2013 13:50

I've had my scan! and the baby waved! I'm so relieved and slightly disbelieving that there's actually a baby in there, I'm in a bit of a daze now. I'm 2 weeks behind my original EDD - so now 11th July not 29th June which explains why I still feel like rubbish. I've got to go back for the screening scan in Jan but am so excited to have seen him/ her Grin

jaykay987 · 20/12/2013 14:18
