felix glad the scan went well and you got to see bubs again.

sultana i love our wall stickers. Something so simple that completely makes the room.

fly feel free to share on here whenever you need to. Its def a good idea to mention it all to your gp and midwife just so they can offer any help or advice that could be useful.
Its always better to talk about these things to someone. Having been through depression before i know how hard it is to 'try and pull yourself out of it' You need to just get all your thoughts out in the open (we are all here to listen) and get any help if you think you might need it. Don't let yourself sink so far into a downward spiral that you feel its too late to do anything about it. Catch it right at the start.
Thinking of you lots.

Seems to be a lot of sickly ladies again. I feel an offer of hugs or Brew is more appropriate than Cake

I did our fortnight xmas shop today at sainsburys with the FIL nectar points. We spent £70 on crap. Coke, apple juice, cheese, party nibbles...... have no idea how it was so much (seems we have been shopping at aldi for too long now lol) but thankfully the nectar card had £60 on so only paid £10. Then nipped to aldi to get some mince and milk etc as they are way cheaper and then home. Had a nice nap before lunch and then just had a bath ready for my work xmas meal later. Think dh is looking forward to not having to help me out of the bath anymore.
He told me i looked like a giant buddha!

Off to see the hobbit tomorrow as well. We were going to catch the train to manchester (early to miss the xmas market crowds) but have now realised that driving will be better, just in case, as we will at least have hospital bags and i wouldn't have to be sat on the train home if contractions did start (hope not as want to get past xmas)

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 14/12/2013 16:05

Frying I hear ya, too. I seem to have BH all evening long, and have started to wake up in the night with them too. Now were all nearing the end it's all getting a bit tiresome, hey? Although i haven't had to much shit from the 'Jesus you're massive' brigade. Although one of DH's friends did tell me my dress was deceiving the other day! Grin

Frizz I had a load of M&S vouchers from my credit card that I've been saving all year and we just went and did our Christmas big shop. We also spent about the same on crap! But at least I have posh biscuits.

Naturegirl82 · 14/12/2013 16:11

Ah my friend just had a little girl Grin Can't wait to go and see them when they are settled back at home. Smile

fryingpantoface · 14/12/2013 17:30

That's lovely nature :)

fryingpantoface · 14/12/2013 17:41

Yuck, just thrown up again. All I've had all day is four little sausage rolls. The ones you cook from frozen :(

i have no idea what's going on

TobyLerone · 14/12/2013 17:46

Aw, frying :(

I sympathise. You poor thing.

I'm starving now. I'd kill for a sausage roll!

BHs are coming thick and fast. At least every 10 mins or so. Such joy!

BookTart · 14/12/2013 20:00

Thanks to all the poorly people. I hope you all get better soon.

fly, please do talk to us about it when you feel down. It might be worth speaking to your mw as well like toby said, to make sure they can try to help you as early as possible.

Well, it has been a knackering day here. Ikea in the morning, where I covered myself in glory by falling over in the food bit (clutching 4 bottles of Glogg to make it extra classy), then crying because I felt like such a tit. Then the afternoon was spent at my Dad's in Essex with 18 close family members that I haven't seen since I've been pregnant. One of them said how jealous she was when she saw women that get enormous when pregnant like me, because she stayed so tiny throughout Angry. Then a brother-in-law asked DH if we did it on purpose or whether it was an accident Angry. DH calmly said that we're a bit old for such surprises. Rude bastard. Then everyone commented on everything I ate Angry. Nct class tomorrow, so DH is already being a bit stroppy abut having to go.

I am cheering myself up with mini Daim bars and Becks Blue, and planning how to kill all my family.

enormouse · 14/12/2013 20:03

Hugs frying

and to those with crappy BHs Toby and frying

Am shattered today so I'll write again after I've had a lie down and caught up with this thread.

enormouse · 14/12/2013 20:06

book your post made me laugh my head off. What a bunch of numpties! Enjoy your daims and fake booze. I'm on the ikea alcohol free glogg right now.

Felix90 · 14/12/2013 20:16

Frying and Toby hope you're feeling better soon and BH aren't too bad!

Book I hate inconsiderate bastards who make totally inappropriate comments. The amount of times I've been asked 'was it an accident' is unreal! Why don't people think it's rude? Angry Enjoy your Daim bars, you definitely deserve them. They are my ultimate fave!

Also book and enormouse, is the glogg stuff nice? I was going to get some the last time I went to ikea but chickened out. We are going soon to get a new desk and cheapy changing table for the bathroom so I may pick some up for Christmas.

BookTart · 14/12/2013 20:16

I have some alkoholfrei for later enormouse :) I also have the apple flavoured version, which I am hoping will taste of mulled cider but which is probably going to be rank, isn't it?

enormouse · 14/12/2013 20:23

Did you try it in the little sample cups when you were there book? I bought regular alkoholfri glogg but I thought that apple just tasted like apple juice with a bit of cinnamon in it.
I guess you can add some extra spices to it if you felt inclined (or brave)

felix it's quite nice but just not the same as regular mulled wine. I've been having the odd small sip of dps every now and then.
If I wasn't upduffed right now I'd want winterjack (Jack Daniels in spiced apple juice served warm)

Felix90 · 14/12/2013 20:52

I've never had mulled wine so think I'll try it! I've really missed having some honey mead and an amaretto hot chocolate at the German market this year! Also baileys in my coffee on Christmas Day Hmm I'm not even much of a drinker at all but I'd kill for a bottle of Jeremiah Weed root brew! I have to make do with ginger beer instead.

Sultanajo · 14/12/2013 20:58

frying that massively sucks! Poor you throwing up for no apparent reason again and BH!

Toby how are you feeling now apart from the bastard BH?

Felix lovely scan news!

Book your post also made me roll my eyes while chuckling! Seriously people - enough with the stupid numpty comments! Grrrr!

Well I just took my first (and probably last) raspberry leaf capsules. Its huge and it got slightly stuck, meaning I tasted it. Have just burped and tasted it again and its vile! Think I may regret it once in labour, but am gonna take my chances without them....

Didn't need any Gaviscon two days ago and I felt as though bubs had dropped a bit. I was over the moon! Heartburn is back like a little bitch today however and am ridiculously full up after eating bugger all! Uncomfortable.com with regular BH and bubs using my bladder like a squeeze toy!

fryingpantoface · 14/12/2013 21:19

I was feeling similar about the heartburn. Then today it's back like a bitch! I remember it being the same with ds though to be honest.

have spoken with my friends mom, shes a midwife. Apparently throwing up and runny poos are the body's way of clearing you out before the baby comes. Same with bh, only that prepares your cervix. So all isn't lost ladies! Saying that, she could just be being kind as i desperately begged for a stretch and sweep. She turned me down while laughing

TobyLerone · 14/12/2013 21:36

I'm feeling better thanks, sultana. I've had some toast and marmite. Dying to gulp down a whole glass of squash, but I'm forcing myself to sip it slowly.

I actually think the baby is trying to escape out the front of me. It's very painful!

Sorry you've had a bit of crappy day, book. Hope your evening makes up for it.

You could try raspberry leaf tea, sultana? It's actually quite pleasant.

Sultanajo · 14/12/2013 21:43

frying that's very true about v and d before going into labour.... Could well be what's going on.....ekkk!

Toby glad you are feeling better and well done for sipping your squash slowly! I may brew up some raspberry leaf tea, but am not a hot drink drinker, so although I am willing to be proven wrong, I suspect I will take one sip and chuck the rest away....

GummiBear74 · 14/12/2013 21:52

sultana, why not chill the tea then? It's fruity, so it's probably nice cold.

We had our first NCT class today, next all day tomorrow. Really nice bunch of people, but I have the earliest due date, so I guess they'll all be watching Xmas Shock

Just ate most of a Lindt chocolate Santa and feel a bit crap (serves me right). Sympathies to everyone who is having v & d without bringing it on themselves (but very exciting if it's a sign that things are getting started!).

extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 22:04

My little person has just massively shifted and is now transverse straight across the middle of my tummy (it's really obvious - there's a hard head and a hard bum on either side of my belly button and tummy is now soft at top and bottom). At 39 weeks that's a bit of an issue, right..?

TobyLerone · 14/12/2013 22:18

I'm sure it'll move back, extra. Fingers crossed!

Felix90 · 14/12/2013 22:21

Extra hopefully baby will move back! I'm sure there's time.

For the ladies who have 'inserted' evening primrose oil tablets - what do you actually do? Just stick it up as far as you can? I have told OH he's going to have to do it for me and he thinks I'm joking!

TobyLerone · 14/12/2013 22:24

I've told DH he'll be doing it for me, too :o
Yep, you just stick it up as close to your cervix as possible.

Felix90 · 14/12/2013 22:33

This is totally stupid but is your cervix basically at the end of the tunnel? (Yes tunnel is a technical term haha)

fryingpantoface · 14/12/2013 22:37

Yip felix as far as it can go.

i convinced dh to have sex with me. Similar results! Let's see what happens!

Sultanajo · 14/12/2013 22:58

gummi that's a thought.... Will experiment tomorrow.

Good luck to all sticking capsules up their fanjos (and frying good luck to you and your DH!)
