Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
extracrunchy · 14/12/2013 22:59

And make sure your hands are really clean before you stick them up there Grin

MrsVDB · 14/12/2013 23:10

Sorry for everyone feeling miserable

I quite like the ikea mulled wine too, worth a try

I've also been quite sickly last few days, either after I eat I need to go to the loo sharpish or random sick hours later. Haven't had dinner for last 2 nights as not been hungry which is unlike me!!

Had my all day nhs antenatal class today which I found really useful. Also went to primark on the search for the allusive button down nightie and perfect dressing gown but no luck :( got some toileteries bags so the inside of my hospital bag will be more organised now (when I finish packing it). Also got some more house stuff done and coving going up in baby/spare room tomorrow so getting there :) all in all a good day

MrsGSR · 14/12/2013 23:50

Very impressed with all the productive days people have had! I've wrapped some presents and that's it.

I have no idea which way baby is, she was 1/5th engaged but I'm feeling loads of low down kicks now so I'm worried she's flipped around. I'm completely clueless though!

flyawayblue · 15/12/2013 00:02

Thanks everyone and sorry for posting and running, spent a while talking to DH then went out for a bit. Have a gp appointment on Tuesday and will discuss with them. Feel a bit silly sometimes and wonder if it's just because I aways feel sick but your all right that it's best to talk.

Love the sound of the stickers in the nursery and impressed with all the mammoth shopping trips :)

extracrunchy · 15/12/2013 00:05

MrsG could be hands?

Now DS has temp 103 and is miserable Sad not our night!

extracrunchy · 15/12/2013 00:46

AND I just lost my plug. What is going on?!?

Percypiglet · 15/12/2013 05:07

Hi extra hope all is okay?! Things moving?

Frizz1986 · 15/12/2013 07:53

mrsg could def be hands. I always get punches in the bladder. I only know they are punches as my scan showed head is def down and am pretty sure baby is that flexible to be kicking it lol. Not sure how i would tell if baby moved from this position though as its felt the same the whole way through. Just hoping that at next mw on 27th dec (dead on 38 weeks) baby is starting to engage or something.

extra ooooo how exciting. Am positively excited waiting for someones baby to arrive.
Want mine to hold off at least til friday (am 37 weeks then) but as the family come up next weekend it would be nice to not be in labour while they are visiting. No real signs for me yet though.
Lots of BH but way less than the other week. Squishy bowel movements every morning (sorry tmi) and extra cm but no plug yet and no drop of bump. Although mine has always been low so not sure if i would see it. Assume i would feel it though if it starts to feel like a bowling ball between your legs (apparently)

Ladies hope u enjoy shoving stuff up you Smile sounds so exciting. Oh the joys of pregnancy. Love how chilled and blasé i now am about any part of my body and all bodily functions. I fear that even if the MD at work asked I would happily tell him lol.

Work xmas meal was nice last night. I asked for an extra bread roll and the man gave me 2. Looking forward to hearing how drunk they all got once i had left.
Text dh at 1030 to come get me at 11 (he told me to text) At 11 i went and waited near reception and text him where i was.....cue text back saying ive only just got your first message, i was on the toilet. Stood around for 15 mins while he drove to get me lol.
My friend who does wedding photography and had a baby last year has offered to take some free photos once baby arrives as long as she can use them on her website which is really nice.

Off to the hobbit today!! Excited! Hope the imax doesnt terrify baby though!

MrsVDB · 15/12/2013 07:54

Lost plug?? Is that the first of the thread?? Good luck :)

MrsVDB · 15/12/2013 07:59

frizz jealous of the photos. I want some of those newborn ones where the baby looks like they're resting their head on their hands but all mega pricey. Saw a cute one with baby resting on rugby ball and dh is rugby player so thought that would be perfect. Did gcse photography and was quite good but nothing since but bought a really fancy camera while we were in Singapore (as much cheaper) couple of months ago and going to try and take lots of baby photos myself

extracrunchy · 15/12/2013 08:01

Weeeellll might still be weeks for me? I think there's quite a lot of variation in when things happen post plug. But still!! Feels like progress Grin

Baby still transverse this morning though, which is a bit scary.

DS has a less alarming temp though and lay in till 7.40!!!

TarkaTheOtter · 15/12/2013 08:02

I think "love tunnel" is the technical term felix Grin

That's very exciting news extra!!

curly is today induction day? Hope it all goes well!

extracrunchy · 15/12/2013 08:12

Ooh good luck Curly Smile

Angelesque · 15/12/2013 08:15

Extra aaaahhh exciting about plug!!!! Ooh hopefully Baby E will be here soon!

MrsVDB am hoping to book a newborn shoot but a midweek one where the photographer is training up their assistant - she's offered a really good deal, about a third of the normal price.

Baby's new favourite thing is chilling out with one foot completely stuck out of the top left of my bump - not uncomfortable but keep imagining him just kicking back, hands behind head and just relaxing like he's in a hammock! DH loves poking the foot and getting a kick back :)

Frizz1986 · 15/12/2013 08:29

Oh yes curly sending lots of luck.

Lol angel what an image!

mrsv i think my friend might be thinking of adding baby photography to her wedding photography business that she started last year. She decided not to return to work after mat leave and is really hoping to make a go of the photography and since having her son she has taken some amazing shots of him so i guess if she can add it to what she offers it could open up some more business for her. And of course i am happy to help Smile

extra if you are still worried about bubs position later just give the midwife a call to ask if its anything to be worried about. Loads of babies must flip around all the time. One of the girls at work felt hers do a massive somersault to get into position right before her contractions started so baby prob knows what its doing!
Quite how you tell its bum and head is beyond me. Consultant told me how you know but i still cant feel a thing when i press on my tum. Just feels like a big balloon of water!

love tunnel lol Xmas Grin

Naturegirl82 · 15/12/2013 08:38

Good luck today curly.

frizz do you think baby may have been head down this whole time which is why you can't feel a difference? Mine's been head down since 20 weeks and hasn't moved.

extra how exciting, at least things are moving in the right direction

Good luck today curly. Hope it all works and goes smoothly today. It is freaking me out a little you may have a baby soon as we were due the same day!

mrsv I am amazed and very jealous of how much you and your dh get done on your house at the weekends. How do you do it??? I don't seem to have the time to do anything on ours at the moment Sad

I am on a massive mission to get my house sorted today. Got a bit sad yesterday that it's still such a state after a week of sorting. Dh was out again last night but didn't drink much so he could help me today bless him, so fingers crossed it will start to look half decent by the end of the day. I just want it all sorted so I can give it a thorough clean and then I can start on the fun bit of sorting baby's room. Smile

Oh and I didn't finish packing my hospital bags yesterday. How many sleepsuits and vests do you need for a week? I'm also confused on size as I have some newborn up to 9lbs and others up to 10lbs so packing a mixture as keep being told baby has long limbs and I'm worried the smaller size won't fit, and my sister's baby's were all nearly 9lbers! Shock So preparing myself for a chunky baby just in case.

Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday

Naturegirl82 · 15/12/2013 08:49

Haha just realised I wished you luck twice in that last message curly. I clearly really meant it Grin I've a memory like a sieve at the moment!

fryingpantoface · 15/12/2013 08:51

Good luck Curly!

Mrs - i lost my plug a couple of weeks ago, then i think it regenerated, so lost more.

painful, as in waking me up, bhs last night. Dicky tummy today. Pregnancy is so glam!

TobyLerone · 15/12/2013 08:59

Good luck, curly!

Exciting progress, extra :o
Now get walking/bouncing/floor-scrubbing and get that baby in the right position!

Glad you had a nice night, frizz, even if you did have to wait around for your chauffeur to collect you!

Glad you've got a GP appointment, fly :)

Today it's town and B&Q for bedroom-decorating supplies. And my house is a tip, so maybe I'll do something about that.

TobyLerone · 15/12/2013 09:00

It's got to be soon, frying!

Sultanajo · 15/12/2013 09:35

curly good luck today!

frying its all sounding promising!

extra definite step in the right direction!

nature I too have packed a range of sizes....its so confusing but I am suddenly starting to stress less about that sort of thing (after spending hours stressing about it already!)

Dreamt last night I had the baby and it was really small, but all my fears about everything just went and I was super chilled, even when I realised he was too small to stay put in his car seat, so I had to cuddle him while DH drove us to kiddicare to get a smaller size.... Weird!

Today we are actually going to kiddicare to get someone to check the car seat with the bases as we are still a little concerned about the wobble factor, although I compared it to my mates the other day and it seemed similar. Then tidy the house, help DH with his tax return, put the Xmas tree up and then DHs mate is coming over in the evening.. Plus get a cheap gym ball from Argos. What I would actually like to do today is veg on the sofa under a snuggly duvet...

Frizz1986 · 15/12/2013 10:25

nature I think it's quite possible that it's been head down the whole time as it has been since midwife started to feel for position from 28 weeks. It was in what I call the 'face plant' position on our scan at 20 weeks though.

I love my gym ball. Really comfy when I sit and rock and bounce on it. It's just nice to be sat but still be able to move when u feel and ache etc.

flyawayblue · 15/12/2013 10:29

Good luck today curly let us know how it goes.

extra I'd call the mw as they were quite concerned that baby fly was transverse at the last appointment, something about not being optimal for labour. I have a scan on Friday to check as I think they just like to know.

MrsGSR · 15/12/2013 10:37

Good luck curly!

Hope your DS feels better today extra, and baby flips around!

I hoping it is punches, but they seem very strong! Might see if the midwife can give me some tips on working out where she is on Wednesday.

enjoyingscience · 15/12/2013 11:10

good luck curly! Hope everything goes well today Flowers

Losing plug might be a good sign extra, enjoy all the bouncing to get baby turned back around :)

We're in chaos here - we've got so much stuff! We're getting the removal people to pack, but a lot of the stuff in the kitchen is grotty and we have far too many clothes - lots of tip runs planned for today.
