extracrunchy · 01/12/2013 00:27

Well done Alyssa!! Hope you're getting some sleep and little one's feeding well. So pleased for you Smile

Whisper GET ON IT!!

Alyssa1978 · 01/12/2013 01:38

He's got some hiccups and they must hurt as he's screaming after each one bless him.
Getting no sleep as on the noisiest ward ever and midwives putting the lights on all the time Sad baby across the way screaming all the time lol.

Lleyton is only on the boobs for about 5 minutes them he's not interested. Must be tired after the diamorphine so I'm bracing for when the hunger kicks in on day 2/3.

WhisperMen · 01/12/2013 01:40

I am awake againSad Making a cup of peppermint tea and shivering on the sofa occasionally whimpering in pain. I don't want to be in labour, how do I make it stop?

ooh poor little man alyssa hope his hiccups go soon and you manage to get some sleep.

Featherbag · 01/12/2013 02:06

Congratulations Alyssa!!! So pleased it all went relatively smoothly in the end!

froubylou · 01/12/2013 03:03

Wow alyssa massive congratulations hun!

Whisper hope you are ok?

Alyssa1978 · 01/12/2013 03:40

whisper Hun you can't make labour stop.
I hope you are ok sweetie.

Thank you to everyone for your kind wishes over it all, I'm do glad the pregnancy/birth bit is over now though.

13loki · 01/12/2013 04:27

Congratulations Alyssa. Whisper, labour will stop when you get that baby out.

Waiting for Älfi to do a little more poo before I xhange her. Hub is cleaning today so we can have some people over for coffee. I might let DD bake a cake.

itsliz · 01/12/2013 06:08

Oh congratulations, Alyssa! So, so glad to hear you finally got there in the end! And what a lovely name Smile
Hope everything settles down on the ward soon so you can get some rest.

Whisper that all sounds promising! Hope everything's going ok? Keep an eye on everything and let us know how you get on.

Right then ladies... It's officially December!!! Which means it's time to uncross those legs and get on with having the rest of these babies!
Wonder who the first person will be to have their little one this month?! Grin

violetbean · 01/12/2013 07:31

Congrats Alyssa! Great news and lovely name!

I am so uncomfortable, lying in bed with pillows as normal but everything aches! No sign of anything yet though, reckon I may be one of the late December ones, sigh. Have a stupid cold and cough as well. Woe is me! Sad

Whisper, hope you're ok. Thanks

WhisperMen · 01/12/2013 07:49

I got some sleep in the end and tge pains seem to have died down. not helpful as I'm going away until Monday evening this afternoon so I need to know if anything is happening or not Confused Confused Confused

kchapper5 · 01/12/2013 08:47

Congratulations alyssa so glad he's finally here :) how does ds1 feel about sharing his birthday?
whisper I hope baby holds off for you until Monday.
violet I'm convinced I'll be the last one on here so I'll keep you company towards the end :)
I'm off today to the rescue centre we got SDog from, they are having a bit of an open day and doing pet portraits so I'm hoping to get a nice one done and get him home before he gets too wound up by all the other dogs. Fingers crossed
Hope everyone else has a nice sunday

extracrunchy · 01/12/2013 09:39

Whisper is there an out of hours service you can pop into to check if you're dilating or anything? A bath would slow things down a tiny bit but if you're really in labour there's not a lot you can do! Hope you're ok. It always seems to happen like that - my mum said book a last minute getaway and I'll be sure to start getting contractions Confused

BetterWithCheese · 01/12/2013 10:33

Hooray Alyssa!! Well done and it's a gorgeous name.

Whisper very frustrating and unnerving. Try to relax as much as you can hopefully things'll ramp up or die down soon.

I was 2/5 engaged on Thursday but baby feels even lower over past two days. I get sort of spasms in the pubic region if I move in certain ways. I'm not due until Christmas Eve though, so pretty sure all it means is 3+ weeks of being VERY uncomfortable as opposed to the moderate discomfort of the past few weeks Smile. Violet and kchapper glad you'll be here to keep me company.

WhisperMen · 01/12/2013 10:39

Well the pain hasn't gone away after paracetamol and I have been sick. Sad Phoned the midwife to ask about going away and get her advice and she said to go. Baby will come when it wants to and as long as I am near a hospital it doesn't really matter where that hospital is. Likely hood of baby coming any time soon is slim anyway. I just know I am not going to be very good company as I've had very little sleep and am in pain.

Alyssa1978 · 01/12/2013 10:42

kchapper thankfully too young to understand at the moment about his birthday phew.

Lleyton not feeding but ds2 was like that due to the diamorphine but they talking about not letting me out until he does, hopefully they will as I need to do ds1 bday party very late as it is Sad

whisper how you feeling now?

mumoftwoboysS · 01/12/2013 11:06

Congratulations alyssa you must be exhausted-hope you get some sleep. How many hours was your labour in the end? It must have felt like forever but you've been rewarded with a beautiful baby!!

Gannetgob · 01/12/2013 11:37

Congratulations alyssa.

Whisper, hope you are alright!

I think I might have had a sign. I just came to get dressed (lazy girl) and my knickers are pretty wet. I usually wear a panty liner but I didn't put one on when I changed my knicks this morning. I'm not really sure what to do. I've put a clean pair on. Should I put a panty liner in to see if it gets wet? Surely I would be able to see/feel wet better if I don't put a liner in?

I'm a bit sad that I've probably just wet myself a bit. I had only been to the loo about half an hour before though. I didn't feel any dribbles or anything, so I just don't know. Hmm.

Stom91 · 01/12/2013 11:54

gannet did you get my inbox?

Mogz · 01/12/2013 12:02

Aww Whisper, any chance of catching a few z's whilst you travel? Make sure you check the near by hospitals on a map before you get there.
I've also been sick and had an awful nights sleep, no more pain than usual (hips/back) but whole of bump feeling continuously tight which is making my bowels and stomach rather awful. Do have some slight cramping at the mo but it really is very very slight.
