Hello - has everyone switched to the wine & cheese thread? Am I on the old thread?

dreamydowler · 23/07/2006 09:37

good morning all Ive just looked at the weather report for cheshire for next 5 days and it is going to be 36c by thursday again thats it!!! Im leaving the country or im going to find the coolest part of this country and go there until baby is born and house is decorated. Going to see if my costume still fits and head for nearest open swimming pool as our local pool is shut due to technical difficulties the day just gets better!!!

muminaquandary · 23/07/2006 09:46

aaaargh more heat

I have been a wimp and as I have work to finish am getting extra childcare next week Mon-Weds because I can't face the thought of being hot and breathless and unable to keep DS entertained properly ....

dressedupnowheretogo · 23/07/2006 11:38

its really hot and balmy here just chucked it down again

dreamydowler · 23/07/2006 12:27

still hot and sunny here wished it would rain

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 12:53

it's dull and breezy here never in my life thought i'd be hapy to say that!

think i did myself serious damage yesterday, i can barely walk and i had meant to finish all my cleaning today so i'd be nice and sorted, grrr.

dreamydowler · 23/07/2006 12:56

are you ok pink? you take it easy today you can always finish cleaning tomorrow

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 12:59

bl*#dy hips are gone i know the cleaning can wait, was just really loking forward to getting all the major stuff done so all i have to do between now and baby is keep stuff tidy.

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 13:00

hows your decorating going?

dreamydowler · 23/07/2006 13:13

getting me down its going so slowly kitchen still only half finished and the rest of the house looks like a bomb has hit it ive been cleaning the cooker this morning everything seems filthy I was sick for about 18 weeks in this pregnancy so everything has just built up cant wait to get new lino down in kitchen Im hoping that will make a difference the I have 2 girls in the smallest room at the moment 2 boys in a larger room and the other 2 girls in third room we need to put the three eldest girls in the room the boys are in at the moment which means packing everything up sorting decluttering and repainting each room luckily my eldest is on holiday and then off to uni so most of her stuff is packed already my 3 yr old daughters room is already decorated but new babys stuff needs putting in when my other daughter moves out of there. she also drew all over hall walls a few weeks ago so that all needs repainting as does bathroom and toilet so still a long way to go and only 5 weeks left if I go to my dates getting very stressed we tried to start earlier but heat and our new business has slowed us down dp out on a job today

dreamydowler · 23/07/2006 13:19

I think some of us ladies are in serious danger of becoming obsessed with cleaning and decorating I know what you mean though I just want to be organised so I can concentrate on getting into a routine with baby

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 13:28

not to mention that the last thing i need right after having baby is my mom telling what a tip the place was and that she did the cleaning and moved everything around (shes coming down to mind dd when i'm in labour).

eenywifemum · 23/07/2006 13:46

dreamy and Pink I am with you on the stressing over cleaning!

Pink i hope you are ok! Take it really easy.

I am so sore. I know I said Alex has bruised my ribs but he is focusing on this one area on my right side to assault for the last 24 hours and it hurts so bad now. I couldnt even sleep last night because not only do I have to get up to pee a million times but he just would not stop pressing out really hard and kicking on that spot, even if I change positions. Ask Sal I have actually screamed out in pain from it! I dont get how a tiny baby can hurt me that badly.

I wanted to let you all know this little gem I picked up yesterday - I asked a friend who just had a baby if I needed to pack barrier cream in my hospital bag (no was the answer) and she said the one thing she really couldnt do without in her labor was a washcloth (face flannel) to bite down on while she was pushing!! She said she didnt know how she would have got through the pushing stage without one!

So I am packing 3 flannels, one for my face, one to bite down on and one for my bits.

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 14:07

thats not a bad idea actually, hadn't even thought of biting on something.

eeny, my dd and this baby both attacked my ribs in exactly the same way, have also been in screaming pain from it and the only words of comfort i can offer are that it disappears as soon as baby comes out, instantly!

eenywifemum · 23/07/2006 14:14

Pink I know I have never gone through labor before but when she said that flannel thing I just thought it made perfect sense and am willing to bet I will use the hell out of it!

And I'm sorry but I am so glad mine isnt the only violent baby! When I have screamed in pain I have felt like a freak because surely I think I must just be a big wuss! It's nice to hear I'm not the only one.

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 14:21

friend of mine was telling me that when she was pregnant with her dd she was in boots one day and the baby kicked her so hard she hit the floor with a scream! the whole shop thought she'd gone into labour and she had to explain that it was just the baby kicking . we're not the only ones!

sarahlou1uk · 23/07/2006 14:44

Hi everyone. Can sympathise with the kicking bit. When I was pregnant with ds, during the later stages of pregnancy, he would headbutt me down below so hard that I would double up and instinctively clutch my bits! Not to mention the fact that I made a noise like one of those women tennis players at Wimbledon this year! Didn't want to go shopping in the end due to the enormous amount of people I had coming up to me asking if I was ok. Not had this yet from dd but she isn't head down, grrrrrr.

sarahlou1uk · 23/07/2006 18:18

Is there only sad old me around this afternoon? Is everyone enjoying the sun? It's gone hot again here and I DON'T LIKE IT!! Why didn't I plan this pregnancy more so that it would be winter time when I was this big???????

dressedupnowheretogo · 23/07/2006 19:08

hi im feeling very fuzzy and zoned out today also my hands are all blotchy and i keep falling asleep and bump has been solid all day

not sure whats going on

thanks girls for last night really enjoyed myself

glad everyone is well

pink sit down and put your feet up

eenywifemum · 23/07/2006 21:17

I have been screaming again tonight in pain so again, I'm glad to hear I am not the only one! I am so shocked at the reality of being pregnant and a kicking baby. Pregnancy is NOT romantic! I thought I would love it and I really dont although I am so so SO happy we are having a baby I could happily skip the whole nine months and just get on with the baby stuff.

Booby how are you feeling? It's probably the heat!! Hope you feel better soon! Last night was fun!

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 21:20

my house is clean

can't move but my house is clean!

you ok booby, sounds like your suffering from the heat a bit maybe? do get the mw to check you over if your still feeling funny tomorrow babe

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 21:21

eeny, i used always think i'd love being pregnant too but the reality is far differant. can't stand it, dp has to keep chanting 'it's the last time you'll have to do it babe' at me when i'm in bits.

eenywifemum · 23/07/2006 21:28

Pink you shouldnt have been doing more housework!!! NAUGHTY YOU! We all ordered you to rest today!

I find it so refreshing to hear other women admit to not liking being pregnant. Like I said I thought I would just float around in a warm fuzzy feeling for 9 months and instead its like this never ending... um... unpleasant thing. It's a means to an end, the end being getting my beautiful baby boy who I love tremendously. Sal does the same thing, he is always saying 'Never again, just get through this then never again'

I just saw booby started a thread in pregnancy I think - booby I hope you are ok. Call your MW to put your mind at rest one way or another!

PinkTulips · 23/07/2006 21:32

it's dp's turn to get up with missy in the morning so i get to enjoy my lie in without worrying about having to clean when i get up. besides it was making me itchy looking at it all needing to be done

are ye still ahving the hot weather over there? it's all cool and breezy here all day... fabulous

eenywifemum · 23/07/2006 21:35

ooh dont I am so ! its very hot still - ok today is a LITTLE better but still not comfortable. At all. Anyway I am glad for you that its getting better! One less pregnant lady suffering!

It's good you can have a lie in tomorrow. Take full advantage of it and dont lift a finger!

We've had such a lovely lazy weekend, last night we watched Serenity and today we watched War of the Worlds - totally traumatised me! But basically we have just laid around together and not done much! Bliss! How has your weekend been besides straining yourself cleaning?
