Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 15:27

I am back if anyone is around? Can't stay away for long, I might miss something!! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 17:26

hi nat, all the ladies on my thread are intrigued by the clicking thing. one of them has just said that she had it too, so im just waiting for a reply to see if she got any explinations from the midwife or anything. Another poster just suggested that maybe its the baby hiccuping as thats a type of clicky feeling (dont worry, i have explained that its a clicking noise you can hear)

NatalieJane · 12/10/2006 09:14

Morning

Someone on that thread I started has come up the explanation of the baby sucking the back of his hand, and when he looses the suction it 'clicks' (try it on the back of your hand and you will know what I mean!!) It makes sense, and also explains why he gets hiccups upwards of three times a day (he had hiccups 8 times in 24 hours that I was aware of the other day!!!)

Either way, the most important thing of course is that it isn't anything to worry about!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/10/2006 14:04

hiya nat, hey that is a good explinatlion!! i'll let the girls on the october antenatal thread know now lol.
hope that alls well with everyone. i had a shite nights sleep last night. i only managed to get an hour tops so today im like a zombie.

got my last midwife's appointment on monday and have decided to go shopping and have lunch with a friend on tuesday to get anything that i havnt got already for the baby

Coriander73 · 12/10/2006 20:33

Hey,

Wuzz, Anna is a lovely name

Just to say I'm keeping a close eye on you all...sending lots of happy postive pg & birth vibes to you all...can't wait for someone (looks like you Wuzz no?) to join me on the other side so to speak..

We're doing OK..started expressing as from yday so DH can give Jack the 10-11pm feed which allows me to try & get 4 straight hours in....Gosh, how life changes eh? I'm normally an 8hour a night girl so to actually feel estatic when I get 3-4 hours without interruption is great!!!! - not that I want to daunt any of you first timers!!!!

x

wuzzlefraggle · 12/10/2006 21:05

hi Cori! Glad you like the name took us ages to agree on one

lol, fingers crossed its me next, although, i would appreciate it if the baby waited until after tuesday

good to hear that the feeding is going well with baby jack and that your dh is coming in handy with it lol

how old is the baby now??

NatalieJane · 13/10/2006 09:46

Hello

Lovely to hear from you Cori, as ever, sounds like you have all settled down and are getting into a good routine

Wuzz, DH heard the clicking sound last night, which I am glad about because I don't think he quite believed me!! I think he thought it must have been me, or at least my body, making the noise, but he heard for himself last night!

And my news of the day is, I think I have had a show. I don't know for sure because I was induced last time, I didn't have any natural signs of labour starting, but from what I have read about and have just asked the girls on my AN thread, it seems like it could well be. I am getting annoyed really, I am totally convinced this baby isn't coming until December, and yet I still have to put up with all of the uncomfortable bits for weeks and weeks! The contractions are starting to really piss me off, I can't concentrate on anything when they are happening, I get into bed and can't sleep because of them, or because I am thinking about it all... I want to chill out for a bit!!! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 10:59

wow nat, so do you think that birth could be sooner than expected?? what was your show like?? im not too sure what im meant to be looking out for lol

those bh ive been having were a little worse yesterday. more frequent and were quite uncomfortable too.

as from now, im going to do all in my power to get this baby on the move, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 11:08

Hello

I am not even going to blush as I explain it, have done way too much of that on my AN thread!! LOL

It started as very light green snot like stinginess when I wiped (LMAO OK I am still -ing!!) and then got a bit thicker but still stringy, and had a bit of old blood in it as well.

I started a thread on the Childbirth area, asking what the chances of complications for the baby are at 34 weeks, and had a good response.

I don't think anything is really getting going, I think it is just my body getting ready for it all - I hope!! LOL I will be very pleased when it is all over, I had to get int he bath last night to help ease the pain of the contractions, and then hardly slept because they were still grumbling all night, only now they have started to fizzle out a bit, I really don't want to spend the next 6 weeks in the bath at midnight!

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 11:09

Meant to say, they all say sex is the best thing by far to get it moving... Have fun

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 11:24

cheers nat...how long did you have the stringy snotty stuff (lol, that sounds damn funny) for before the blood?

well, must admit, me and dh did get a little, ahem, frisky last night which seemed to make the bh thingies a little more frequent and annoying but as of yet thats it. ironic isnt it, the thing that gets you up the duff is the thing that could possible help end it

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 11:33

I think I had the first stringy snotty stuff on Wednesday, but I didn't think much of it, it was one little bit, wasn't sure if it was actually DH's...erm... deposit.... urgh yuk I know that is gross!! But then yesterday morning there was a bit more, and each time I went for a wee and wiped there was a bit more, until yesterday afternoon when there was a bit of blood in one lot of it, it is still coming out but not everytime, and no more blood.

Someone on the AN thread said that you can loose parts of the plug and that it replaces itself inside, so it seems if you had it all at once, then you really have lost it, but if it just comes out in bits it is very possible to not be a sign of labour starting.

I am also getting lots of discharge, I can actually feel it coming out as I walk or whatever, and my boobs are leaking like mad, but I expect that is because of the contractions.

I can't decide what I want more, to go into labour and get it all over with, or not go yet because although it seems the baby would on the whole be fine, it would be better to carry on for a bit longer yet, but then the thought of contractions as bad as they were last night, every night for another 6-8 weeks puts me back to wanting to go into labour now!!

Sorry to go on.

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 11:40

nat it sounds like ive been getting similar to you then, coz ive been getting a hell of a lot of discharge lastely and ive had some stringy snotty like stuff too, although no blood. id say ive been egtting this for the last 2 or 3 weeks

i can understand how you feel nat. it must be one of those catch 22 type feelings where on the one hand theres x, but on the other theres y. and you can talk to me about it as much as you like, so dont be silly. thats what im here for

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 11:46

Thanks Wuzz

I get the feeling these next few weeks are going to be tough! I have had to push DH out the front door to get him to go to work this morning, he didn't want to go incase things did happen, but he can't stay off work for the next 6+ weeks, but then since I finally got him to go, all I want is for him to come back home incase it does get going LOL It is silly because on one hand I am convinced this baby is going to be a December baby, and I am convinced that everything that is happening now is just my body getting ready, but then on the other hand, it really could be any minute...

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 11:54

no problem at all

yeah i get what u mean. are you getting contractions today too? its not nice just not knowing is it?
my dh decided to go and do some over time today too, and eventhough i like the quiet of my own company, i didnt really want him to go, silly aint it.

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 12:01

Well, after I got out of the bath in the early hours the pain of them had eased a bit and they just sort of rumbled on a bit like period pain all night and this morning, but in the last hour or so they have started to fizzle out a bit. Who knows, I might get a few hours rest before they start again tonight! LOL

I wish my mum was back from Turkey already, my sister, who is my best friend, I daren't ring her because she will just completely flap and try and get me to go to the hospital, DH is normally very good in these sort of situations, and keeps me calm through them, but even he has lost the plot now, I know my mum would be able to calm us all down! She has been through it five time for a start! But, she has another week yet of sunning herself... I am hoping beyond all hope that DH gets himself back together by the time he gets home else it is going to be a very long weekend!!

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 12:12

it sounds like they are very tiring for you nat. how are u sleeping? the midwife told me that a bath can sway contrctions...if they are just bh type thing then it can ease and fizzle them out, but if they are the real deal, get your ass thinking about hospital jobbies, then a bath will help them progress.
do u get period pain type feelings in the bottom of your stomache too?

i hope your mums having a nice time in turkey. im sure as soon as you speak to her when shes home, she'll ehlp calm you and dh down a bit...its a week today thats shes back is it?

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 12:23

Well I was awake most of the night, partly because although the pain had gotten a bit better, I was still getting the tightenings which I find really uncomfortable when I am led down, and also because I was stupidly really worried incase my waters went because I haven't put the bed mats on to protect the mattress LOL It seems ridiculous thinking back on it now, I wasn't worried that they might go, just that they might have ruined my mattress!!

The bath did ease the pain a bit, but didn't stop the contractions, I get BH durring the day and I can handle them, but at night it is real contractions, if they would keep getting stronger and more and more regular, the labour would start.

Most of the period type pain I get is right at the very bottom of my belly, deep inside, almost at the pubic bone but much deeper, and sometimes depending on my position I can feel it in my back a bit, I never thought I would say this, but it is better in my back, I can rub it and it feels better, but when it is in my belly I can't rub anywhere that would make it better!

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 12:40

god, they sound pretty uncomfortable!! have you got one of those gym ball thingies?? aparently they can help with discomfort.

i really do wish i could be of more help with all this and give proper advice

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 12:44

I have got one of those gym ball things, but it has one of those football types pumps to pump it up and I broke the pin thing that you need to use, and haven't gotten round to buying another pin thing yet! I am actually finding it easier to sit on a hard chair (I am sat on a dining chair at the moment) it is keeping my back straighter and the pressure the baby is putting on my bum is sort of being conter balanced as I push back LOL God I don't think I am ever going to be able to return to MN again after this is all over, with everyone knowing what my body is up to day and night!!

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 13:04

lol nat! with all the talk of fanjos and bum sex on mumsnet, your just blending in with everyone

im going to get one of those gym balls on tuesday i think...

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:10

Oh, I have missed the bum sex - not that I'm that dissapointed about that, just so we are clear!! LOL I don't think I could think of anything less apealing right now! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 13:12

lol, there were a few hysterical threads on it a while back, had me almost in tears. so do you think that you and dh will be having any more children after this one?

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:16

No, I don't think we will have another, I did um and ah about it for a while, but I think this will be it for us. Mind you, we said we probably wouldn't have another when I was PG with DS, so who knows?! It would take a lot for us to have another though, we would have to move house for a start!

How about you? Is no.2 on the horizon already?
