Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

i think that me and dh will probably have another, but not for a good 5 years-ish, its something we'll have to play by ear i think.

do you know what...for some reason im bloddy obsessed with xmas already!!

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:29

LOL I had been up until yesterday! Someone started a thread about black christmas trees the other day, and at first I thought how awful they sounded, but then I was thinking about and I think I actually quite like the sound of it, with just some plain white fairy lights or blue ones, wish we had the sort of house you would have to have to pull it off!!

We are off to Argos to get some shelves and the curtain pole for the babies room after, DS is asking if he can have an Argos book so he can make his list for Chirstmas, might take our minds off other things for a bit!

And I saw a christmas card making kit thing the other day in town, I nearly got it, thinking it would give me something to do whilst DS is at school, but I didn't, I can't be bothered if the truth be told!! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 13:33

black xmas tree eh?

me and dh tend to stick to the green tree with gold and red decoration and white lights.
the woman that lives next door to my sister in law actually has her decorations up already!!!!!! they have been up for like a week!!!

i dont seem to be able to stop making bloddy lists for gifts and doing net research lol

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:37

We will always have a green one whilst the boys are young, I do quite like the idea of a black one, as I said though, you would have to have a certain type of house - well an 'apartment space' would probably describe it better, to pull it off!

I have had a small-ish white one before in the hall, that was nice, but the cat decided she didn't like it very much and kept trying to pull the lights off it for some reason, the ones on the green tree in the living room didn't bother though....!

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 13:45

yeah i get what u mean about having a certain type of house for a black tree.

do you still have a cat? we have 2 and im getting a bit bloddy sick of people asking if we are going to get rid of them because we are having a baby

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:51

Yes she is still here, although if she jumps onto the babies gym thing again I might cut her paws off!!

I don't think we will have any problems with her and the baby, obviously apart from making sure she doesn't go near him while he is asleep, we are not too worried about thing else. She isn't allowed upstairs anyway, only because she goes under DS's bed and starts pulling on the base thing (for some reason, she never does it anywhere else except her scratchy post thing and under his bed!) The way we see it, they are going to be living together for a long time to come yet so the baby might as well get used to her being around! Obviously any sign s of a real allergy would cock that theory up, but we aren't going to get rid of her 'just in case'

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 13:54

Right I am going to get some lunch ready, DH is home now - I can relax for a bit!!

Have a good weekend if I don't catch you again TC xxx

wuzzlefraggle · 14/10/2006 14:11

for some reason, loads of people have seemed to think that we would automatically get rid of the cats. obv they have been told errr, no lol.

have a nice lunch nat, and i'll catch up with you soon...hope that the contraction thingies subside xx

NatalieJane · 14/10/2006 18:38

I think as long as you use a bit of common sense, babies and any pets can go together. I have found our cat likes to sit on my lap, but absolutely hates to be anyhere near my bump (She jumped over the other side of the room when her tail brushed against it last week!), she literally purches on the end of my knees LOL I think it is because I am warmer, and I think she will be more put out that her warm resting place has gone than anything to do with there being a baby here!

The contractions went away all together, and are now back again, I think I had better accept that I am going to spend my evenings breathing funny and getting DH to rub my back from now onwards! Oh well, it could be worse I suppose!

And you inspired me to buy another birthing ball today (as I knew I would never get round to buying to another pump!) except this one I have bought is another one that needs the same type of football pump pin thing... so now I have two gym balls and still no pump! LOL

NatalieJane · 16/10/2006 09:24

Hello everyone

Wuzz, have you had that baby yet?

I am still getting contractions every night, and then being left with rumbling period type pain in the mornings, which goes in the afternoon, just in time for the contractions to come back in the evening! I am so tired now, I have been awake most of the night since the show on Friday, so I have had about 10 hours sleep since Thursday, feels like the baby is here already! Seriously, if this does carry on for much longer, I am going to be in no fit shape to labour in!

How is everyone else doing?

wuzzlefraggle · 16/10/2006 12:17

hiya nat!

nope, no baby yet and i didnt get to have my hot curry on saturday, so im having my hot curry tonight

we're getting thunder and lightening here!! i love thunder and lightening woohoo and now is raining too im a happy wuzz today lol

still getting the contractions eh?, maybe you should think about getting an appointment with the midwife nat, see what she thinks?

NatalieJane · 16/10/2006 14:30

I have made an appointment for tomorrow Wuzz (Sorry meant to say this morning!) the babies movements have really slowed down over the weekend, although he is still moving, and getting hiccups loads of times in a day so I know he is OK, but today he has slowed down even more, was putting it down to him being that much bigger and just running out of room as they do at this stage, but probably because of the contractions and the show (which I have lost more of today, with some blood) I have got a niggling worry now, I think if I am awake again all tonight I am going to be a bloody nervous wreck by tomorrow!

Anyway, enough about me, just how hot is this curry going to be? And how soon after the birth can your DH let us all know how it went?!!!! Are you still getting the BH?

NatalieJane · 16/10/2006 14:33

Meant to say, me and DS love the thunder and lightening, we had a storm when he was at school last Monday I think it was, I was really worried about him, I was thinking all of the girls would be running around screaming, and DS being a sensitive little soul would be petrified by it all, but when I went to pick him up, his teacher had given him a house point for being so brave and getting the other kids to look out for the rainbow at the end! (Where we live up, nearly 95% of storms ends in a big rainbow, and that is how I used to get him to sit and watch with me! )

wuzzlefraggle · 17/10/2006 10:20

aaaah, well done your ds! thats so cute!

well, the curry was a pretty hot madras which i did enjoy, i must admit
seem to still be getting period pain type felings in the bottom of my stomache. i told the midwife about it which she says is a good sign and that the baby is low down too. she doesnt want to see me again now untill im a weeks over my due date.

hope that your mw appointment goes well today nat and that they can shed a little light on whats going on in there. Im sure you'll be fine. did you get a good nights sleep?

Im off out later today with a mate to get one of those gym balls, raspberry leaf tea, more mat pads, nipple pads etc.

NatalieJane · 17/10/2006 10:31

No I was awake most of the night again, I think I got about an hour and a half all in all. I am just waiting for the taxi to take me to the midwives Wuzz, so I can't stay, just wanted to say enjoy your day shopping, and sounds all good from your midwife

I will let you know whats gone on as soon as I can TC xxx

wuzzlefraggle · 17/10/2006 10:43

ok nat, well i hope all is fine at the midwifes. you take it easy and be sure to let me know how it went. TC and chat to you later xx

NatalieJane · 17/10/2006 11:41

Hiya

I am back, BP is fine, wee is fine, bump measuring 35 weeks so is fine, babies heart rate is fine

She said she didn't like the sound of what I was describing to her about the contractions, she said I could either go straight to the hospital now where they would check if my cervix was showing any sign of labour but that because I haven't got the contractions now (except BH which don't count apparently), any check would probably be worthless, or I can see the consultant tomorrow, so I have an appointment with him tomorrow at 11.00, not sure exactly what he is going to do but he must be able to do something, or else they wouldn't have sent me to him! She said if the contractions become as strong and as regular as last night again tonight then I was to phone the hospital straight away and get down there, forgot to mention to you, I had about 40 minutes of very strong ones every 3-4 minutes, I was just about to agree to go to the hospital with DH and they started backing off to the usual 8-10 minutes, so we didn't go.

But now, I have lost my control over it all, this time last week everything was fine, I wasn't going to even think about seeing anyone until 36 weeks, now I have to see him tomorrow, the midwife in 2 weeks and every week after that, and I hate the 'everybody else has more say than I do' feeling it gives me!

wuzzlefraggle · 17/10/2006 11:46

hiya nat, so glad to hear that alls well with you and the baby. i bet its helped put your mind at ease (and your dh's)

i understand what u mean about feeling like every1 else is taking over...not nice is it? well its annoying anyway and makes you feel out of control

i cant stop as my friend will be here anytime from half past 12 and i need to go and start getting myself ready (ive been saying that to myself for about the last hour lol)
If i dont chat to you b4, good luck with the consultant appointment, and again, be sure to let me know how it goes. TC and take it easy xox

NatalieJane · 17/10/2006 11:51

I will do, don't shop too hard - or at least make sure you take regular breaks to sit and have a cuppa!!

TC xxx

laughalot · 17/10/2006 11:54

Now where is the happy nj that I know ? Dont be hard on yourself nat remember that all this is being done to have a healthy happy baby in the end you would never forgive yourself if you ignored midwifes/consultants advice and then you put yourself and george at risk or even worse delivering at home after all the hard work you have put into your house recently . I know its really hard sometimes when we want these pg to go our way but it someimes is out of our hands dont be to down I still love ya...

laughalot · 17/10/2006 11:56

Wuzz you should be at home having sex eating curry and pineapple and drinking rasberry tea its all a myth non worked for me.

NatalieJane · 17/10/2006 12:24

Lota, happy NJ is playing out with sleepy NJ I think! Once sleepy NJ comes back, I am sure happy NJ will to....

OK so now I am also off my bloody rocker as well as everythign else!! It must be you, I was fine until you showed up!!

No, seriously, how's it going?

laughalot · 18/10/2006 12:23

Nat I seem to have that effect on everyone ,how has it gone at the hospital ? Im fine anyway 27 weeks and counting im getting really big now my dad said the other day I look like iv swallowed a football, its a pain in bed at night turning trying to get comfy but hay ho. Do you ever hear from jenswish ? It seems like ages ago we were on our little thread.

NatalieJane · 18/10/2006 14:08

27 weeks!! I can't believe how quickly the time is passing, Wuzz has got only 6 days to her EDD (by my reckoning anyway!) I can remember absolutely everything about when she got her BFP! Even chunks of the actual conversation!

I eventualy got to see the consultant at about 12.30 (appointment was at 11!! ) She did the exact same checks as the midwife did yesterday and gave me a f*ing prescription for some pain killers...

We got home, got in the front door and I just burst into tears I honestly cannot do this for another possible 8 weeks.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/10/2006 14:22

nat - so they didnt actually tell you what was going on at the conslatants??? (id have been fuming too, being made to wait an hour and a half extra!) try and keep your chin up (easier said than done, i know, it must be horribly frustrating for you)

laughalot - good to hear from you! this all seems to be flying by so quickly!

Trace - hows things going? just wanted to check that alls fine and that you are doing well

I want the baby out! 6 days left to my due date (your right nat ) and i want her out NOW lol. ooh, and those gym balls are great
