Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

Yes Wuzz, it is a practise contraction, the uterus and all the muscles are getting ready for the big push, you are lucky, from what I gather a lot of first timers don't get them, or don't get them strong enough to feel them.

peachygirl · 10/10/2006 17:34

so far so good. The baby is moving, I've not had MS really just bits of nausea. I have some bad nights and often walke early but at the moment I can cope with that I think I've been very lucky.
I'm sorry I have to go. Dh needs picking up at the station!
Nice to have caught you both. we can talk christmas more another time!

only 9 days ago, but i feel pg this time, i remember when we was trying all together, lol

thank you lucy great to be here

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:40

Trace it is so good to see you back here I don't want to jinx anything, but, you sound so much more positive this time When is your due date?

Sorry Wuzz I had to go after a while, DH was home and we needed to get to Tesco. The nightly contractions started half way round, by the time we got to the checkout even the check lad (must have been no more than 16) was asking if I was OK! How do you explain to a 16 year old boy that although I am 'shuffling' (as DH put it) round like I have just got off a horse, and I am sweating buckets, and I can hardly breathe because of the pain, and I am trying to very discretely hold things in that shouldn't be held in public, that once the contraction is over, I am fine and there is nothing worry about?!! If I hadn't have been so embarressed already I would have added in a bit of noise or something to really wind him up, poor thing, looked like he was going to faint!! LOL But as it was, no waters broke so no free nappies for me this week!!

Can't believe I could have up to nine more weeks of the contractions though, they are not much fun! (Apart from when it is in Tesco with a young lad shitting himself!! Cruel bugger aren't I?!!!)

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 09:48

Oh and Wuzz, poeple on my AN thread are now talking about the freebies if your waters break in a store, some have said it is all 'big stores', and another has come up with Boots so far... perhaps it is just heresay?!

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:01

i remember us all trying together well Trace i was a lost little MNer newbie and pussycat invited me to join the Jan thread, ahhh memories lol

nat, so there are a few shops that will give freebies if you "pop in their shop" (LOL!!!)
And LMAO at you shitting up the poor lad in tesco. this is sounding like waaay too much fun, im going to have to brave the fear and go shopping i think

well, i kept getting those nasty tightenings all evening and night yesterday

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:18

Apparently, if you get in a warm bath and the BH subside then you are ok, if they carry on, or get stronger, you should start timing them!

Stange question, do you ever hear any noises coming from the baby?

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:23

i'll have a bath later then i think...so far its not happened today, but over this last few weeks come to think of it, this has been happening, just no where near as much as it was yesterday

what sort of noises do you mean? i dont think that ive heard anything...

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:28

They aren't anything to worry about, as I said, they just help to get the right muscles in shape. Most people say you do just know when they turn into real contractions, but I didn't get BH at all with my first, and I was induced so I didn't start as you would do normally, so I don't have any experience of it.

The noise is like a clicking sound, you know when your knees click or something? But, it isn't me clicking, I can be led still, baby moves I hear the click and then nothing, it is a really quiet noise, you wouldn't hear it is the telly or radio was on, it doesn't happen everytime he is moving, but it does only happen when he is moving if you know what I mean?

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:35

right, well ive never heard any clicking, but i'll ask the ladies on my antenatal thread and see if any of them have any experience of it. can your dh hear it when it happens too?

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:38

I don't know, it only started last night, just the once, and I didn't think anything of it, but it has happened three times today, obviously DH is at work. He would have to be sat with me in silence and waiting a long time to hear it I think. It is ever so quiet, for anyone else to hear it they would have to be waiting for it I think.

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:39

I have started a thread, but only had one reply, and that was to ask how old the baby is (???!!)

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:42

i have put a post on my antenatal thread to see what they say and see if any of them have had a similar experience...

to ask how old the baby is???? lol, you should say that shes minus 6 to 9 weeks lol. i think the other poster prob thought u meant a born baby or something by the sounds (lol)

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:47

Thanks Wuzz, I am a bit stumped on it, I'm not worried, he is moving about fine and I feel fine, just really curious as to what it is!

Had another reply asking if the baby has learnt morse code LMAO!

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:50

lmao!! i'll have a looky at your other thread now...

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 12:54

Air bubbles in the fluid sounds like the most likely I think, but it really isn't a popping noise, much more of a clicking sound.

wuzzlefraggle · 11/10/2006 12:57

maybe ask your midwife when you decide to go see her. 2 of the ladies on my thread have answered, but neither of them have had it or have any ideas what it could be. i enlightened them on the air bubbles in the amnioic fluid thing and told them that thats the only explination given so far.

NatalieJane · 11/10/2006 13:06

I still like the morse code thing, I think I must have the brainiest baby going!! LOL

I have been on MN since about 9.10 this morning when I got back from dropping DS off, my bum is flat, my back is aching, I need to get some lunch and I think I really should get on with some tidying up and if I feel like it, I might even make a start on my hospital bag, will give me something else to do other than MN for a bit if nothing else!

So, I will probably catch you a bit later on, I said I would email wannaBe today as well, so will have to make it back to the pc at some point! TC Wuzz xxx
