Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

No my mum, although christened, isn't religious in any shape or form, DH's mum is at best a part time Johova's Witness (basically, it is the thing she hides behind when ever it is Christmas or someones birthday so she doesn't have to fork out a penny, although she is very good at accepting gifts from others!! ....Another time for that moan I think!!)

They have both just let us get on with it, in every area of his life. DS isn't christened and the baby won't be either, but DS does go to a R.C. school (because it is a good school, and the closest) and so he is only just starting to learn about God, and Jesus and everything else. He finds it very confusing I think, we have always told him Bob the Builder builds things (!!!), now they are telling him God does...

At the end of the day the baby is your child, it is your job to bring her up the way you want to, and as long as she is happy, healthy, well looked after and loved, then it is no one elses business, and don't be scared of telling them that, else you will forever be bringing your child/ren up to meet other peoples criteria.

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 10:38

very very well said nat. yeah, i did end up having to put her straight quite bluntly. Its all dealt with now, but it was just something that got on my nerves lol.

sorry i left so abruptly by the way. ive had a very busy weekend. my kitchen is done!!!!! wooooohooooo!!
in fairness to dh, he's done a lovely job...all i have to do now is work out how to use the new oven lol

today ive decided that im going to do a massive living room re-arranging/clean up type thing and to do the last little bit of labour bag packing.

woke up this morning and my stomache just feels totally different. it feels much heavier and like theres loads of pressure. oh god, this post is turning into a rambler lol

how is and where is everyone??????

HopingCat · 09/10/2006 11:51

Hello! I've not forgotten about this thread, but I've not managed to get on mn for about a week. I'm frantically trying to finish everything off at work before going on maternity leave. Due date is getting scarily close! I'm sure you feel this even more than me Wuzzle!

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 12:27

hi HC!! yeah, 2 weeks left and im bricking it lol.
your not far behind me tho!

HopingCat · 09/10/2006 13:16

When did your bump start to drop Wuzz? I need a bit of breathing space! I've got mw tomorrow but I haven't noticed things getting lower so don't expect her to say LO is engaging yet.

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 14:24

what u mean when did it start to drop? im confused.lol
ooo, good luck with the midwife! last time i saw mine she told me that the babys 3/5 engaged

how many weeks left have u got now?

NatalieJane · 09/10/2006 15:56

Whooooo hooooooooooooooo!! The kitchen is done!!! Great news!!! (Bit of advice, never quite manage to get around to learning how to work the oven, DH will soon learn!! )

I think what HC means by the baby dropping, is when it 'drops' down into the pelvis (starts to engage) I actually didn't notice with my first when my bump dropped, but I have this time, my actual bump seemed to get smaller, only a little bit and for a few days, I found it easier to breathe, heart burn eased (but is now back and making up for it!!) and when I walk or lie down I can actually feel the babies head in my pelvis.

I am feeling a bit yuk today, but other than that all is still well

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 16:29

hahaha! yeah, i must admit that I've been deliberatly not reading the manuel (its a bloddy complicated oven) and letting dh take charge

oooh right, well im defiantly aware of the baby because of the amount of pressure that seems to be on my pelvis and it all generally feels a lot heavier.oh, and the mw said that the head is 3/5 engaged

hope that you feel better soon nat!

peachygirl · 09/10/2006 17:16

Hi everyone.
I had my 20 week scan today (i'm week 21 though) and everything is going well, BUT baby had it's bottom down so we couldn't find out what it was. I'm a bit disapointed but really pleased everything is growing properly. It's funny but we have been saying this would happen all along!
wuzz I'm so pleased to hear your kitchen is done How long did that take!!??

OP posts:
NatalieJane · 09/10/2006 17:26

LOL Wuzz, that's my girl Why don't you accidently 'forget' where you put the instructions... pregnancy brain and all that....?!!! (You've gotta make the most of it while you can, you won't get away with blaming it all on pregnancy brain for much longer!!!)

Peachy, how is it going? How are you feeling? It is a shame about your scan, but as you say the main thing is that you know baby is doing great, and besides, the sex will be a lovely surprise on the day

peachygirl · 09/10/2006 17:37

Hi natalie jane, I'm feeling really well. The baby is moving too which I am really enjoying. I can't stop long as I have to get DH from the station and we are having people viewing our house too

OP posts:
Coriander73 · 09/10/2006 18:44

Peachy, I think it's best not to know!!! You'll have a wonderful surprise on the day...& hey, they can get it wrong you know ...So guys, what names are you all thinking of for your soon to arrive lo's??!!

BTW...I am so broody, it's just ridiculous..I was never like this with DD. DH has said to not even go there...he doesn't want anymore & as soon as he can he wants the snip..

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 21:12

hi peachy, good to hear from you! its taken 6 months in all unfortunatly, but the main thing is that i have it now and that alls sorted (with 2 weeks to spare lol). glad to hear that your lo is doing well!!

nat, that sounds like a plan to me lol "sorry love, i thought the manual was in the draw...ahh damn, you'll have to sort out the tea by the looks for tonight"

cori, hows little jack? me and dh have decided on Anna we have been set on that name now since i was about 4 months

i wonder where laughalot is?? shes not posted for ages!

wuzzlefraggle · 09/10/2006 21:15

just re-read your post cori, is there anyway that you can talk your dh out of getting the snip or something?

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 09:22

Morning all, had some fairly strong contractions again last night, don't know if I should be worried that he is starting to make his move already (I am 33+4 today), excited that he is at least getting ready, or just bloody miserable because this could go on for potentially another 9 weeks! And some of you will remember I haven't seen a midwife since I was 17 weeks, and I really want to hold off going until I am about 36 weeks, I really don't want to start the backwards and forwards to the doctors every couple of weeks yet, but then at the same time, I don't even know where I should go, or who I should ring if I do go into labour. Managed to scare DH though LOL It isn't the first time I have had proper contractions, but it is the first time they had been quite strong (strong enough for me not to be able to hide them) whilst he was here LOL He didn't know what to do with himself!! LOL

Peachy, hope the viewing went well
Cori, don't let your DH do anything rash, tell him to leave it a couple of years and if he still feels the same then, then you can think about it again then. I hope things are settling with the new baby, and that you are making a quick recovery.
Wuzz, put the instructions though the shredder, no one will ever know!!

laughalot · 10/10/2006 12:25

Hi wuzz im here still around been poorly with a cold and also sorting out all laurens stuff ready for her arrival im 26 weeks now, not long for you though.

ooo, congrats! when did you get your bfp??

oh, and ladies, TRACE IS PREGNANT!!! check the pregnancy boards

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 13:04

damn, should have read the thread better b4 i posted lol.

nat - when are u going to make and appointment with the midwife? so you've not got any notes or anything???

laughalot - good to hear from you, hope that the cold has gone. ive just recovered from mine (stayed with me for about 2 weeks in all) 26 weeks!! god, it really has flown

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 13:42

Lota, great to hear from you!! 26 weeks??? it has gone so quickly!! And organized is one word I wouldn't use to describe us at the moment! By my scan date, EDD is the 29th Nov, so I will probably still be very pregnant on the 28th!!

Congratulations to Juicy And welcome to the thread

Wuzz, I am trying to wait till I am 36 weeks (2 and a half weeks away) before starting all of the palava with the midwife. I do have my notes... they just aren't quite as erm... filled in as other peoples!! I have seen the midwife, once for the booking in appointment, and then once at 17 weeks, also had blood pressure taken when I had that diabetes test which is on my notes, if I go at 36 weeks I might just get away with not having to go again until I go into labour! - Wishfull thinking? Probably...

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 13:44

Oh and Wuzz, sorry, I did mean to point you in Trace's direction last week. But thanks for letting us know!!!

...and do you remember a few weeks ago I said I had put an Eminem CD on and the baby went mad? Another song of his has just been on the radio and he went mad again, he is obviously going to be the most f*ed up kid ever!! LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 14:04

LOL nat!!! it still seems to be aerosmith with this lo. shes got a thing for steve tylers voice me thinks

its unbelievable how quickly all of this is happening isnt it? i really should do the finishing touches with my labour bag..im not being as organised as i should be

im really pleased for trace, fingers crossed she joins the thread

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 14:17

Phroawwwww, it isn't his lyrics I'd be interested in..... LOL

I have sort of packed my bag, I haven't got everything in it yet, but as I have bought things I have just sort of chucked them in, will go through it all and find what else I need and spilt the packs of stuff (i.e. I don't think I'll be needing all 400 breast pads in hospital!! )

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 14:28

LMAO nat!!!

yeah, ive got some things in the bag already, i just need to work out what else needs to go in and pack it tidily. eventhough i know how long ive got left, it seems to have all of a sudden crept up on me iyswim

Juicylucythe2nd · 10/10/2006 14:31

Wow, you're all so far gone. Only hope I get to go all the way this time

Got my BFP about 2 1/2 weeks ago. 7 weeks today!!
Had a scan at the EPU last week coz was panicky, but sac perfect and it had a heartbeat, so feeling a bit more positive. Will have to wait and see.

I think Trace got her BFP just after me, so she's probably waiting before coming over.

She's probably a bit anxious, like I was / am!
