Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

I know what you mean, I think we tend to somehow think about the baby and and count down the time, but never really stop and think what that time actually means, does that make any sense? LOL Not really! I don't know how to explain it... the words "I've got 7/6/5/4/3/2 weeks left" roll off your tounge, but when you actually think I have 14 days left, it does suddenly hit you.

I have started counting down to two weeks over due, that way I have 9 weeks a day left, that sounds nice and safe and not close enough to start panicing yet!!

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 14:35

Juicy, you make the most of the extra scans, there is nothing like the relief to see the baby on the screen, and that is without any history!

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 14:47

juicy - im sure that you'll be fine and as nat said, enjoy the extra scans, they'll make you feel more relaxed being able to see for yourself that the babys ok. is this your first??

nat, you hit the nail on the head. ive been sat here these last few days and thinking "omg...2 weeks left, where has the 9 months gone??" dunno about anyone else, but im almost worried about going out and about more than a 30 min drive away now too.

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 14:48

I have got to pick DS up, will be back after.

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 14:51

no probs, i'll be lurking about

Juicylucythe2nd · 10/10/2006 14:54

Wuzzlefraggle - yes my first. Anxious and excited at the same time. Don't know if I'll ever relax during this whole pg.

Once the 12 weeks come to an end will start worrying about downs etc as I'm 39.

I've always been an optimist, but since my mc, I just feel like all this is out of my control and my DH is now the optimist (as always the ying to my yang - he's normally a born pessimist) LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:03

well Juicy - you have my thoughts with you all the way it must be very difficult trying to keep upbeat about something that you just cant help worrying about. this is my first too, so im not very good at all as far as advice is concerned, but one thing that i will offer as sort of advice is: try not to buy any of those pregnancy magasines...when ever i did by the time i had finished reading them id be convinced that i had everything wrong with me and the baby, and from the tough time you've had already, you dont need to have silly things making you worry even more, unnecessarily.
have you told all your family etc?

Juicylucythe2nd · 10/10/2006 15:07

No, we won't tell anyone until after the 12 week scan.

My nephew died recently so I don't want to tell anyone in case it doesn't work out. Everyone is sad enough at the moment

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:17

oh juicy, im so sorry to hear that you and your family are going through such an upsetting time xox
i really do hope (and im sure it will) that you have a problem free pregnancy and you and your family are in my thoughts. it must be so stressful for you

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:19

Wuzz, I'm not at all worried about going out, I am worried DH is going to be hours away though! He was in Newcastle yesterday, took him over 4 hours to get home...

Juicy, I am sure you have heard it all before, but apparently once you have seen the heartbeat on the scan the chances of a m/c drops quite significantly. Really sorry to hear about your nephew

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:24

but what if your waters brake when your walking around morrisons doing your shopping or something??? stupid i know, but its playing on my mind a bit

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:33

Firstly I'd hope I was in Sainsburys, apparently if you go into labour whilst in there, they give you a years supply of nappies for free!! Secondly, I would get out of there PDQ and never ever ever go back

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:43

are u being serious about the sainsburys thing??? think i'll have to be shopping there from now till birth lol.

i honestly am worried about my waters breaking and being in public lol

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:43

oh god, and im actually sat here working out a possible xmas list

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:47

I am serious, I hadn't heard about it before either, but my mum kindly put me in the picture, only thing is we don't have a Sainsburys for miles!!

I think the stats show that only 1 in 10 womens waters go with a gush, and that waters are rarely the first sign of labour anyway, they normally go with a contraction. I think I would be worried about them going on my carpet!!! LMAO

Juicylucythe2nd · 10/10/2006 15:48

Was reading on the Due in Dec thread and someone was WRAPPING xmas pressies - how organised is that!!!

I have conveniently pushed Xmas RIGHT out of my head!!

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:49

I have officially started shopping today, I had already bought some little stocking filler type things for DS, but I went into Woolworths today and they had those metal scooters with the tiny wheels on offer, I got him a Scooby Doo one (his hero!) for £15, have seen them upwards of £30 elsewhere so had to get it!

melrose · 10/10/2006 15:50

Think you'll find the Sainsburys thing is an urban myth...(was asda when I was pg)

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:51

I love wrapping them all up, I always do it all together, I get DH to take DS off out and I have a nice bottle of wine while I spread over the whole living room with different rolls of wrapping everywhere, bows stuck on my bum and seletape bits stuck on the back of my hand LOL It is almost my favourite bit of Christmas

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 15:52

Oooo, we have an Asda down the road LOL

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:52

im going to have to seriously consider converting to sainsburys lol

juicy, that it organised!! and i thought i was being a bit too advanced by writing out my list lol

so, does anybody have any money saver tips for xmas stuff???

Juicylucythe2nd · 10/10/2006 15:53

NatalieJane - now you're making me feel totally disorganised

Will approach the subject with DH tonight.

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 15:53

ooo, theres an asda about 5 mins car ride from my house...

NatalieJane · 10/10/2006 16:04

I did buy a new christmas CD today as well It is more for DS, it is jingle bells and silent night rather than white christmas and let it snow type songs.

... had to stop myself putting it on when I got back home!! LOL I love Christmas, and I have hardly even thought about it yet this year, unsurprisingly I suppose!

wuzzlefraggle · 10/10/2006 16:07

must admit, im a christmas junkie too lol. i like to play the xmas cd when i wrap presents lol

do u ever set yourself a budget or anything?
