Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

Hello..

This is the third night in a row that I have mildish - to strong BH contractions (esp at 4am) & backache. Totally fed up now...just would like to get on with the task in hand even though it will hurt..!!!! Other than that can't really say life is very exciting at present as all & sundry are just on tenderhooks which is making me worse.....today DH asked whether we're sure about our names??!! I was like..YES, you are not changing them now...nope, sorry but even DD has them off in her little mind...

wuzzlefraggle · 08/09/2006 07:47

how are you this morning cori???

HopingCat · 08/09/2006 09:34

Hi,

I was just wondering, is there anyone else who decided not to find out the sex of their baby? Do you think it makes the waiting worse when you don't know what you are having? I didn't want to know at 20 weeks, but now at almost 32 weeks I feel like I need to know what I've got in there!

Cori - sounds like it could be any day now. I bet you are tempted to stop answering the phone. My friend was due on Wednesday and she spent all day getting up to answer the phone or text messages from relatives and friends asking if she'd had any twinges.

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 10:13

Hello, still here!!! Last night was better..but still feeling heavy & odd! Am so excited & nervous & I just wish we get on with it even though officially not due until next Friday but am well aware the scan put me down as the 9th & the MW keeps telling me I'm measuring 40 weeks now.....aarrrgggghhh.....

DH would like me to start today so he can have the weekend off work!!!!

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 10:16

BTW Hopingcat, I didn't find out the sex either but had a vivid dream last night that I had a 39 week scan & asked as I had to know...!!!! Personally I think it's more exciting NOT to know but respect others' decisions if they chose to find out, even though we never considered it....

HopingCat · 08/09/2006 11:23

Cori It is definitely exciting not knowing. Do you think you know what it is? Some people have strong mother's intution. I keep changing my mind every couple of months.

NatalieJane · 08/09/2006 11:42

Hi Girls

Sorry you are still hanging around Cori, have you tried all of the things to try and start you off?

HC, I knew with my first from day one he was a boy, with this one I didn't have a clue really except that because it has been such a different pregnancy this time that I thought it might have been a girl, but the scan showed a boy!

Wuzz how did the ante-natel go?

I had my diabetes test on Wednesday, they found a trace of sugar in my wee, which she said doesn't have to mean I have GD, but she said if the results are bad then they will ring either today or Monday, so am waiting on tender hooks a bit! It isn't the thought of having GD, because AFAIK it doesn't actually cause any major health problems, it is just the size of the baby that it can effect, which would probably lead to either a CS or induction, which I really really really don't want!

On a brighter note, I am stuck in the house waiting for my reclining glider chair and footstool to arrive I am so excited, I really wanted one with DS but we couldn't afford one then, so now it is really special for me Of course once it arrives, I will be too busy getting sea sick to be on MN!!

Lota how's it going?? Sorry if I've missed anyone!! xxx

Coriander73 · 08/09/2006 11:42

Well, I have been totally convinced for the best part of 7 months that we're having another girl!! Having said that, the last couple of days I've had a few boy vibes but deep down I'll be very surprised if it's not a girl - I was the same with DD....only had a boy vibe into the last week & went out a bought a blue outfit which she never wore!!!!! Cliche, but as long as we're both safe & well that's the most important thing....

laughalot · 08/09/2006 19:07

Hi guys cori sorry to hear your still hanging in there cant wait to find out what you are having. I am so scared they got my scan wrong and it isnt a girl nearly all the girls on my thread are having boys I think there is about 3 of us expecting girls up to yet .

Nat go steady on your new toy when it arrives

Hi wuzzie

lucy5 · 09/09/2006 00:32

Hi all! I haven't found out the sex. I didn't with dd but I knew she was a girl. It just came to me walking down the street one day. I don't know with this one, I have feeling that it could be a boy because my pregnancy has been so different. if I am really honest I would like another girl.

NatalieJane, Let me know how you get on. I am going to the hospital on Monday for another gtt as they found sugar in my wee too!

lota, i don't think scans are wrong very often.

wuzzlefraggle · 09/09/2006 17:09

cori - im still sending you labour vibes...fingers crossed it all starts to kick off soon!

nat - Hope that the results come back ok xox how many weeks are you now?

laughalot - hows u? have you thought of any names for the baby?

hope that everyone else is doing well and that pregnancy is being kind

antenatal wasnt too bad..there were about 40 couples there so they had to split the group in half!! my midwife came to visit me on friday too to sort out my birth plan and she has some how managed to calm me down about the whole birth side of things lol. is anyone else getting a little sick of aching and peeing? lol

take care everyone xox

NatalieJane · 11/09/2006 10:54

Hello girls

My little boy started school for the first time this morning, he found some of his friends from nursery and off he trotted to play with barely a backwards glance at me! I feel... redundant!! I was awake all last night, worried that he wouldn't want me to go, or that he wouldn't like his teacher, or that we'd forgotten something... can't believe I am going to put myself through all of this again with this baby! I must be mad!

I haven't heard anything about the results of the diabetes test yet, they said they'd ring by the end of today if there was anything to worry about, I am pretty confident they will be fine, I think I'd have felt worse if there was something wrong. I hope your's goes well today Lucy

Wuzz, I'm glad the ante-natel class was good, sounds very busy! But there seems to be a bit of a craze at the moment for Oct/Nov/Dec babies, I don't know any of them very well, but there are about 10 of us up at school due around then, and the school is only small - about 100 pupils, and we have 50+ mums to be on the ante-natel thread for November alone!! I am 29+2 today, and am feeling OK about it, I think the panic will really settle in on Saturday, I will be 30 weeks then, and that sounds very scary!! You are 5 weeks ahead of me aren't you?

Lota, the chair is lovely Very easy to fall asleep in though!

Right, I have gone enough for now! TC everyone xxx

HopingCat · 11/09/2006 13:55

Hi,

For those of you having to have the diabetes test, my friend found that the midwife found something in her wee at each appointment and she kept being sent to the hospital for the diabetes test. She now takes her sample from her first wee of the morning and has not had a problem since.

Hope none of you have to have this test again. I've heard it's not nice.

Wuzzle - did you go through your birth plan with the midwife at one of your normal appointments, and was it their suggestion or yours?

NatalieJane · 11/09/2006 16:09

HC the test isn't that bad, I suppose if you don't like needles it wouldn't be nice, but it is pretty straight forward really, the worst bit for me was not being able to eat or drink for 12+ hours, it nearly killed me, not so much the food, but I was so so so thirsty!

wuzzlefraggle · 11/09/2006 16:54

awwwww @ your ds nat
have you heard anything from your results?? and yup, im 5 weeks infront of you, so im 34 weeks

HC - my midwife suggested that its about time we started on the birth plan and she came to my house to do it. it was basically to let me know the ins and outs of it all, let me know my options and for her to get an idea of the sort of thing i wanted and didnt want. the only things that could be taken as a definate were: she needed my permission for an injection in my leg to help with the delivery of the afterbirth, wanted to know if dh would like to cut the cord, and she needed my permission for the baby to have a vitamin k injection (its a routine thing) after its born.

apparently im classed as low risk, so i'll be on the midwifery led unit

cori, anything happening?????

hope everyone else is doing well xox

NatalieJane · 11/09/2006 17:07

I can't believe you only have 6 weeks left Wuzz, I know I have said this more than once, but it only seems like last week we were sat getting the live BFP!!! LOL How are you feeling about it?

No phone call from the hospital today so I am assuming everything was clear They said I will get written confirmation by the end of the week.

DS was fine at school BTW, I think it is the longest I have been away from him in 4 and a half years, it felt so strange walking round town with out him, getting lunch just for me, I even automatically got two cups out of the cupboard for some juice this morning! Don't know how I am going to survive the next couple of months, once the baby is here, I will have something to do again, but until then I am going to be going out my mind with bordom!

wuzzlefraggle · 11/09/2006 17:30

i know, its madness isnt it lol. 6 weeks left, eeek! same with you tho nat, it only seems like the other day that you had your bfp!

im glad that your ds got on well at school, it must take a load off you mind knowing that he's settling in nicely. and hey, not long until your baby arrives to take your mind off of feeling 'put-to-one-side'

by the sounds of it nat, it looks as though alls fine, they would have phoned you like they said otherwise. no news is good news as they say

peachygirl · 11/09/2006 19:14

Hi all, sorry to have missed a bit of chat today. good to hear you are both OK.
Cori hope you are alright!!
Wuzzle I can't believe you only have 6 week left.
Nat. Your little boy is growing up, soon enough you will have lots to do with the new baby and lots of reading etc to do with your DS from school to make you feel included

Hi Peachy!

Yep, am still here!! Have eaten the best part of a whole pineapple today along with popping the old raspberry leaf tablets!! Totally fed up, want to confront the next stage of my life now even though, naturally, I'm anxious about the birth etc, but just want to get on with it & feel lighter!!! Loads of us have popped on the Sep thread already, quite a few before their due dates so it's all quite exciting one way or another

How are you getting on now? When's your 20 weeks scan?

peachygirl · 11/09/2006 19:26

I'm fine.I'm glad you are too. my scan will be in another 3-4 weeks in week 21. It's 17 now. How about long walks and a curry?

OP posts:
lucy5 · 11/09/2006 20:43

Hi all! Spent all day at the hospital today. I don't know how they do the diabetes test in England but I had 4 lots of blood taken with an hour wait between each and the disgusting orange drink to boot.

I also had another scan, which was lovely as the baby was blowing bubbles. I was told I am having a big baby but I don't know if thats by Spanish standards. I am 27 weeks and baby is approx. 1.530 kgs or 3.37 lbs!!!!!!!!!!

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 09:05

peachy - are u going to find out if the babys pink or blue?? lol i was about to suggest a hot curry to cori too

lucy - i hope that all goes well with the tests

im not a happy bunny at the mo...the last bit of my kitchen was meant to be arriving on firday, but it now turns out that it wont be arriving untill the 4th October!! im due on the 24th!! we bought our kitchen back in bloddy april!!! i do not want diy going on with a newborn in the house

NatalieJane · 12/09/2006 09:19

Morning girls

Wuzz, that is awful, I remember when you bought it, it is unbelievable how companies get away with it. Why don't you ring Trading Standards, even if you don't really want to go down that road, at least you can say to the kitchen company if it's not delivered by the 4th that this, this or this will happen, as advised by TS?

Peachy I can't believe you are 17 weeks already, the time is just flying by! And yes, my little boy is growing up, and I am pleased that he has the confidence to go off and not really give me a passing thought, but at the same time, just a little bit sad that he doesn't need me to get him through the day anymore! I am so ready to be a mum again, I don't know how to do anything else!

Lucy the test I had was to fast from 10 o'clock the night before, got to the hospital about 8.45 they tested my early morning wee sample, took the blood, gave me the horrible drink (agree that bit was vile!) sent me home for two and a half hours, then they wanted another wee sample (the one they found a trace of sugar in) and more bloods, then they popped a choccy biscuit in my mouth and sent me packing! So it isn't anywhere near as bad as what you describe!

Cori scrub the oven and then the windows, one or the other normally get's people going! Good luck

Have a good day everyone

wuzzlefraggle · 12/09/2006 09:33

morning nat!
yeah i must admit that im fuming about it. i really want my house sorted before the baby gets here
i think that dh and i are going to have to phone TS. this really is their last chance now. people should be allowed to sell you something that isnt even in stock/made. i think that we should demand that it comes straight from the supplier to us too. they are going to feel my pregnant, hormonal wrath i think
