Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

So, how did it go Wuzz? What did you get??? (tell me to bugger off if you want, I am just being nosy!!)

HopingCat · 25/08/2006 14:03

Hi everyone. How are we all doing?

Laughalot - it's your scan next week isn't it? Let us know how it goes.

Lucy - how are you? Are you staying out of hospital?

Cori - how are you feeling now that it's so close? Are there people on your thread having babies yet?

Peachy - have you got your scan date through?

Wuzzle - how much baby stuff have you now got?

NJ - I can't wait to finish off our nursery. We've done all we can for now, but I want to put the sheets in the Moses basket and set everything out by the changing table. I don't want it all getting dusty though so will make myself wait.

wuzzlefraggle · 26/08/2006 14:28

hi girlies, HC and Nat, the update on my baby stuff is now as follows:

a load of baby clothes, a moses basket and stand, a baby bath, a boucing seat, a door bouncer, a car seat, one of those baby carrier things that makes u look like a kangaroo (lol) and about 80 nappies. she said that theres more to come in a few weeks too!!! we couldnt believe it!!

(we already have a pram and a cot)

hope that every1 is doing ok

NatalieJane · 27/08/2006 18:52

Wow Wuzz you did well!! It is very exciting isn't it?!!

We have also been shopping this weekend, have so far ordered this Avent thing from Babies R Us, it has an electric steriliser, brest pump, a load of bottles, training beakers, and some other things, all for £40 which I thought was a great bargain!! And we got a bath set (with bath top 'n' tail bowl, flannel, towel, sponge), some sun shades for the car windows, maternity pads, breast pads... LOL OK so I know your not interested at all in them, but we did buy them!! LOL I am in the throws of ordering the travel system, just have to finally decide which one, so many to choose from!

Hope you are all having a good BH weekend, DH is off till Wednesday so won't be around so much till then, so take it easy TC xxx

Coriander73 · 27/08/2006 20:57

Hi Hopingcat...& the rest!

We've had three early babies that came in July would you believe & one that come last week. All appears to be well..

I'm a mixture of apprehension, nerviousness, excitement etc etc. Feeling very fed up now...just want to face & it & have lo in my arms but not before the 4th of Sep!! That's DD's 2nd birthday so past that date don't really care at all! It's also our 4th wedding anniversary on Thursday so it's going to be a busy week one way or another....!!! 4 years married, two of which have been spent being pregnant...! I was looking at the wedding pics the other day (as we moved DD into spare room & came across them...it's amazing how much time you look at them & show everyone after the event but hardly at all now!) & thought how young, slim & quite nice I looked...LBB...Life before babies!!!!!!

NatalieJane · 28/08/2006 08:05

Thought I would put you all of out of your misery, and tell you that we have finally decided on and ordered a travel system! (Sorry for the repeat for anyone on the ante-natel with me!) We have gone for the Quinny Buzz, we would have bought it from a shop in Clevleys yesterday if they'd have had the right colour, but we are glad we didn't, we came home and had a good search around on the internet, and found it at Glasgow Pram Centre, we got the whole package, with the pushchair, carrycot, carseat, all the foot muffs and raincovers, the shopping basket and everything else, it would have been £600 in the shop, but we got it for £485 from the GPC! And with it having the carrycot with it, we won't need to buy a travel cot straight away so it initially saves us that cost as well, although we will need to buy one later on.

Anyway, now we have to wait till the end of the week for it to be delivered (it is free delivery if you spend over £99 from GPC if anyone is interested!!) it is so exciting I can hardly wait! And we think our plasterer can do the nursery (and hall) this weekend coming, so we can finally get the hall finished and then do the nursery so my dining room is in sight of being put back together!! Whooo hoooooooooo!!! God the excitment is going to bring on the labour if I get anymore good news!! LOL

Have a good day everyone! (Although it is absolutely chucking it down here and looks like it isn't give up very easily!) I don't know if we have anything planned, but me and DH have been together 6 years today, so I expect something is on the cards! TC xxx

laughalot · 28/08/2006 12:30

Hi girlies just to let you know its my scan tomorrow please pray that baby has his/her legs open ...............

wuzzlefraggle · 28/08/2006 15:06

Coriander - congratulations for your wedding anniversary! and i hope that your little one has a nice birthday it cant be long for you now

Nat - glad that you have decided on a travel unit lol. and we are getting an Avent breast pump thingy too...do you know if all the avent bottles fit it, or just the 4oz ones that it comes with?

Laughalot - all the best for the scan tomorrow! heres hopring that your baby flashes you LOL!

hope that everyone is doing well...dh and I are still madly decorating the babys room, ahh the joys lol

laughalot · 29/08/2006 12:30

Well I had my scan all is well and im having a little girl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am over the moon one of each her name will be lauren

NatalieJane · 29/08/2006 12:37

Hi girls,

Hope everything is OK Lota

Wuzz I would have thought that the pump would have adaptors for different sized neck bottles, but the 4oz and 9oz wide neck bottles have the same width neck anyway. I wouldn't buy too many of the 4oz bottles, DS was on to the 9oz ones in a matter of weeks.

Pissed off about the travel system now, just after I had finished posting about it yesterday, GPC rang to say they didn't actually have it in stock, but they have taken the payment off my credit card, and surprise surprise they aren't being very quick putting it back, and until they do put it back I can't go and get it from somewhere else But at least we have finally decided that that is the one we want, so only have to wait a little bit more!

DH is still off work, he has completely stripped out the nursery, it is literally bare walls no carpet, no proper ceiling, no skirting boards, no window frames everything is gone ready for the plastering at the weekend, I just can't wait to get all of the babies things up there and see it all together and nice!!

I suppose I should go and get in the shower, I am still mooching about in my PJ's! It's a hard life!! TC xxx

NatalieJane · 29/08/2006 12:39

Wow, talk about timing!! LOL Congratulations Lota!! Do you wanna swap?!!! I would have loved to buy all the pink stuff! LOL

hi ladies, glad to hear that every1 is fine

im off to the midwifes today for another checkup thingy and thursday is my first antenatal class, which to be honest im a little nervous about.

HopingCat · 04/09/2006 10:43

Hi everyone.

One of my friends has had her baby! He was 10lb 15oz. Ouch! He is called Reuben Thomas, and he's lovely. All wrinkled and curled up at the moment, but he's sleeping through the night already and he was only born a week ago!

Congratulations on your girl Lota. I think I secretly want a girl, and DH wants a boy, but neither of us really mind.

Are you still with us Cori? Now that it's 4th Sept are you happy to deliver any time now?

Coriander73 · 04/09/2006 12:49

Hi, I'm still here!!! Had lots of pain & back ache last night & thought oh here we go but all is calm again..which I'm obviously pleased about it being the 4th of Sep & feeling emotional about my daughter being two!!!

Everyone seems to have an opinion...but all believe that it'll be here this week!! As long as it's from the 5th onwards I really don't mind at all (although I'm naturally apprehensive etc just like everyone else re the birth etc but can't wait to meet LO...am so convinced it's a girl but as long as we're both well & healthy come the day I don't mind)

wuzzlefraggle · 04/09/2006 17:01

awww, happy 2nd birthday to your dd cori and from the 5th we'll all be sending your labour vibes lol

well, went to the midwfife, she has to send off my wee coz there was a trace of luco-something in it, just to check for infection. all seems great with the baby which is good, and we have to go back in 2 weeks.
