Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

I know how you both feel lol! I'm fine at work etc but if everyone is out boozing I'll be all Hmm and when I say no to alcohol the game will be up as I'm usually a beer monster!!!! Xmas do not till 14th so I'll think of something!
And Baggy, try not to worry, with DS2 I had light bleeding almost every day from weeks 5-7 and everything was fine Grin

Plumviolet · 22/11/2013 20:27

Hello there!

Tentatively prodding toe into the water....

Got my second line this morning and all going well due August 2nd.

Freaking out a bit as my first bfp line was barely there on Thursday evening (IC) and my second (clearblue) this morning with fmu was not much different. I've got a digi for tomorrow morning so hoping that I'll get a big fat positive spelled out for me.

Oh yeah, I have two dd's - 2 and (just)4 and I'm 36.

TheBookofRuth · 22/11/2013 20:47

Welcome Plumviolet.

So get what you mean about pregnancy antisocialness, I am turning down invitations right and left, partly because I just can't be arsed, but also because it's so out of character for me not to drink that everyone would guess straightaway. That's what happened with DD - and then because they'd all known from the start, my friends then complained that I'd had the world's longest pregnancy.

Have been out tonight for a meal with DH (my mum has got DD for the night) but we just went to a local pub and are already back and in our pjs, ready to cuddle up on the sofa. It's a good job I'm not sticking religiously to the food guidelines though, or I'd be going very hungry - the menu was very shellfish, blue cheese and pâté heavy!

Plumviolet · 22/11/2013 20:58

Thanks Ruth! That sounds heavenly, I'm tucked up in bed under a duvet and a huge sheepskin and I am bloody freezing! I know it's cold outside and I'm in edinburgh, but seriously?! I don't remember this with the last pregnancys.

... Is anybody else cold?

Babymamatobe · 22/11/2013 22:17

I've been feeling the cold Plum! Thought it was just me!! Lol

Allypallyjelly · 23/11/2013 00:08

Welcome plum!!
Yes me too always super cold whenever preg!

Eminybob · 23/11/2013 07:45

Had a couple of feint lines so still testing every day here too! Very tentatively adding my name as had MMC back in May.
Periods have been a bit irregular but if I count a 28 day cycle due date should be 2nd August. Eeeek finger and toes crossed for all of us.

Eminybob · 23/11/2013 07:46

Ps this will be number 1 and I'm 33 Smile

Allypallyjelly · 23/11/2013 08:18

Welcome eminy!! I'm sure the lines will get darker soon!!

funkymonk · 23/11/2013 09:00

Congrats eminy and plum!

Sorry for your loss eminy.

Disappointed as got 1-2 still on digital. Lmp has me at 5+1 though I think I'm 4+4 based on ovulation. Both however should get me a 2-3. Worried.

Plumviolet · 23/11/2013 09:04

Did the digi this morning and... Computer says yes!!

Pregnant 1-2 weeks. So exciting. Feeling some twinges in my right ovary area when I move quickly, like sharp muscle stretches and I am hoping that is normal, and that's the side where the egg was released from and not an ectopic pregnancy, paranoia at work!

All in all though, I am so so so tired, achey legs, sporadic nausea, tingly nipples, fridge scanning but nothing I fancy, heavy feeling in uterus, thirsty. All so quickly, I know it's my third kid but it never stops being magical - it's nuts.

I am terribly impatient so I have got to get my head in the zone for a long wait. Want it to be august already!

We are hosting Christmas for the first time in our house this year and we have 10 adults coming and five kids, what the feck am I going to do?

Babymamatobe · 23/11/2013 09:18

For any ladies in Scotland interested in an early scan, ABC4D are doing 50% off viability scans costing only £42.50!! Have clinics in Motherwell, Ayr and Edinburgh!!

I'm booked for 21st December!!

eeyore2911 · 23/11/2013 10:29

Oh I wish they did the scans cheaper near me!! £100 BabyBond and that seems so steep!! Hmm

talulahbelle · 23/11/2013 10:38

5 weeks today, and the first time in over a week I didn't POAS first thing Blush
I still don't feel pregnant, although the sore boobs, bloating, tiredness/lethargy and slight waves of nausea seem to indicate something if going on. I still don't quite believe it though.
Doctor's appointment Monday after work, hopefully I'll be able to get an early scan booked in then.

plum We are hosting Xmas too this year - luckily only 6 of us and DH is doing the cooking. I plan to recline on the sofa and relax. Hopefully and all being well we are going to announce the pregnancy on Xmas day to my relatives.

funky Those digital tests are notoriously unreliable. I prefer the ICs so I can watch the line getting darker.

babymama and eeyore both of your prices seem expensive to me - It's £120 + £10 for a memory stick with pictures at the private early scan place near me. Expensive.

eminy Congrats! I'm 33 and pregnant with my 1st too. It's so exciting :)

ally and ruth DH has been briefed when buying me drinks, I ask for a vodka and soda (or whatever) and he brings it to me but without any alcohol. Luckily I'm not a beer drinker, and the summer Pimms and spritzer season has passed.

2beornot · 23/11/2013 10:42

Morning ladies!

No symptoms here!! But then neither of my two previous pregnancies has any. Except maybe a bit of nausea. Hoping no sickness this time either as have lots of Christmas meals booked.

Decided not to have a viability scan after all. I don't think it would reassure really and would not want to be reassured if the worst then happened. So long wait til 12 weeks!!!

Hollyjokes · 23/11/2013 11:32

Morning ladies and welcome to eminy and plum Smile

I'm freezing too! Really shocked because I've been pregnant over the winter before (albeit heavily pregnant then) and I was absolutely boiling even when there was snow on the ground! I'm dreading being a huge sweaty hippo in June/July though! ShockGrin

We are going to my mums for Xmas dinner, so glad as I doubt I'd have the energy to play host. Those who are doing it themselves - are you planning on telling any family/friends before then? If so then I'm sure you'll get lots of offers of help so you don't have to do too much.

So I dragged myself off the sofa and went out last night! It was quite a good night, although I was getting a bit fed up towards the end when everyone was quite drunk and I was sober and tired Blush We have now told DH's best friend as he was standing near me at the bar when one of the girls insisted I did some shots with her and I needed rescuing! He won't blab to anyone though. I got one glass of wine which I sipped at now and again to make it look like I was drinking and got DH to buy me diet cokes but told people I was drinking vodka! It was harder than I thought to hide it all as I normally like to let my hair down on nights out. I think I just about got away with it but it was tough!

Oh god I hope this "hormones" thing doesn't last the entire 9 months. I am horrible! Angry and sad and angry and sad. For no reason!
//throws self dramatically onto a bed, sobbing.

ShoesBagsDresses · 23/11/2013 20:20

Hi all, I'm also on the July thread but as I'm due around 27th July (and went 2 weeks over with my 1st) I'm pretty sure this one will be an early august baby.

I haven't had any symptoms other then sore boobs. Last time sickness kicked in about 7-8 weeks so I have a few weeks left if I get it this time round too.

I hear you all with regards to disguising not drinking at the Christmas parties. I got so drunk last year, and have been merry at a few work do's through out the year so pretty sure someone will twig if I don't drink as it's not like me at all! Not sure how to cover if up!
I still haven't even had a drs app yet so probably won't be getting a scan till the new year! Sob! Hope all those looking to get early scans get something before Christmas
SBD

Babymamatobe · 24/11/2013 07:08

Well decided to do a CB Digi this morning and it seems we've progressed to 3+ weeks!

Hope you're all well !

baggyoldcow · 24/11/2013 07:42

Hi all,
just a little update - no brown gunk yesterday but a little this morning. Still hanging in there and trying to be optimistic! It's not happened in any of my other pregnancies, that's the problem.
Have doc's appt tomorrow...let's see what happens.

Hollyjokes · 24/11/2013 09:27

Hi SBD Smile

Baby that's great! I did an IC last night and got an instant line as dark as the control line! Smile

Baggy I hope your doctors app goes well and that the doctor is able to give you some reassurance.

I had a bad night with DD last night so I'm totally knackered today and feel very nauseous too. I seem to feel sicker when I'm more tired. Really hoping I get to have a nap at some point today!

OP posts:
funkymonk · 24/11/2013 10:33

Hope all goes well baggy. I'm sure it will.

Good news baby and holly, though now I am more worried as digital gave me 1-2 still yesterday and internet test stick lines coming up quickly but not as dark as test line. I know all women have variable hcg levels but I can't help but worry. Have been TTC for 12months with a mc at 8 months and I've convinced myself that I'm never going to have a successful pregnancy.

Babymamatobe · 24/11/2013 11:07

Aw try not to worry Funky, I think I'm 5 weeks today and your dates are similar to mine, so maybe try another digi in a day or so?

I deliberately waited till today to use my digi as I'm exactly 3 weeks past ovulation today. Wow that ovulation day seems so long ago now!!! Can't wait for my scan on 21st Dec!

As long as everything is ok, I think we're going to have to tell the family at Xmas dinner, a couple of them already suspect so not drinking is just going to make it all the more obvious!!

Great news Holly, just wish we could fast forward till we'd all had our 12 week scans and knew our little beans were ok!

Hollyjokes · 24/11/2013 11:29

Oh funky, try not to worry. Maybe implantation happened a little later than you think and that's why the tests haven't caught up yet. I completely understand why you're worried though, with your history. I really hope that this is it for you. Are you going to have an early reassurance scan or wait until 12wks?

I know baby, it's going so slowly isn't it?! I'm trying to wait until Christmas to tell family and friends too but it's so hard! I'm not telling work until January hopefully! Hopefully we'll all be so busy getting ready for Christmas that the next few weeks will speed up a bit. I'm desperate to see my baby on a scan!

Thanks baby and holly. If I go by last period then I'm due 25th july but based on when I got a positive opk its 28th july presuming I implanted soon after. Implantation couldn't have been much later as I had a positive test by 10dpo. Hmmm. What will be will be I guess!

I have a scan booked for 11th Dec. I had just started investigations at fertility clinic and they offer viability scans to all their patients on the NHS which is good.

Telling family at Christmas time is a lovely idea.
Especially over Xmas dinner. At in laws this year so planning on telling then either Xmas eve or Xmas day and telling my family when we are there weekend before Xmas! all being well of course!
