Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

I haven't even called about a doctors appointment yet - that all seems a bit "real". I'm 12dpo today with a 14 day LP so I might leave it a week..

Hollyjokes · 20/11/2013 10:10

I phoned early in case there was a waiting list for appointments with Christmas holidays coming up, but they gave me an appointment for when I'll be 7 weeks! Do any of you know if we are allowed to take other children to MW booking in and first scan? DH will be coming with me so we would have to get childcare otherwise, but we don't want to tell anyone else yet!

If it makes any difference, DD can't walk yet so she would be sitting on DH's lap throughout.

A definite sicky yuk feeling for me this morning, but more cramps too which is scary. Probably connected to my increasingly dodgy guts.
TMI but I am also thinking I am starting with an attack of thrush. Anyone know if I can take anything?

I find by 11am and if I force myself to eat I feel better but it's hard, all I want to do is sleep.

talulahbelle · 20/11/2013 11:02

Oh, my first doctors appointment is Monday. I'm going to try and get an early scan after my ectopic in Feb, and if they won't refer me I will pay for a private one.

DinkyMole · 20/11/2013 11:04

That's usually fine. I took DS1 when I was expecting DS2. Perhaps I'll ring the doctors later. It really hasn't sunk in!

TheBookofRuth · 20/11/2013 12:14

I wasn't going to bother with a doctors appointment, was just going to self-refer to the midwifery service when I'm a bit further along. My last pregnancy was classed as high-risk for a number of fairly spurious reasons, resulting in my being poked and prodded by various medical professionals on an all too frequent basis, so I want to put that off for as long as possible.

Hollyjokes · 20/11/2013 12:18

Great, thanks Dinky. DD will definitely be coming along to the booking appointment and I will take her the scan too then I think.

Talulah I think they should definitely offer you an early scan. How many weeks would you be when you have it?

Ruth I self referred to the midwives too. I did call the GP surgery first and the receptionist told me that I didn't need to see the GP unless I wasn't keeping the baby?!

I'd speak to a doctor about thrush medication. I think you can have external but not internal stuff. Live natural yoghurt on a tampon should work.

eeyore2911 · 20/11/2013 13:11

Can I join in? I'm probably due about 27th July Smile I'm 33 and have 2 DS so outnumbered in my house! I'm a nurse and haven't phoned Drs or anything yet but maybe I should as we are off to Italy on Tuesday yay!!Grin

baggyoldcow · 20/11/2013 13:45

Welcome eeyore!

Holly, just a warning, when I took DD in (aged about 18m) to a scan she went NUTS. Husband had to take her out and all I could hear for the rest of the scan was her screaming out in the corridor. I think it was seeing me prone with the prodding, big screens etc. that did it!

Hollyjokes · 20/11/2013 15:22

Hi eeyore, welcome and congrats! Jealous of your trip to Italy, I would love a holiday right now!

Baggy, DD will be around 10 and a half months when I have my scan. I would be gutted if she started shouting and DH had to leave the room with her. Maybe I'll leave her with my mum, I'm sure I'll have told her by then. She's definitely going to have to come with us to the booking appointment though.

eeyore2911 · 20/11/2013 15:49

Thanks for the welcome Smile I hadn't thought about taking DS to scan... He'll have to I suppose, he's 19 months and usually quite er... Inquisitive... Shock

eeyore2911 · 20/11/2013 15:50

And we couldn't not go on hols... £14.99 each way and I do love a bargain!!! Thanks

baggyoldcow · 20/11/2013 18:10

Yes, holly, it was really awful! I couldn't concentrate on what the sonographer was saying at all. In retrospect it was quite funny actually as I had this scan in Germany and being Germanic everyone at the clinic was very stiff and shocked by my baby screaming the place down! She was 14m I've now worked out. So yes, I'd think twice about it if I were you (and you eeyore), they might get very upset.

£14.99 each way???

DinkyMole · 20/11/2013 18:18

Oh dear baggy! I think my son would have been about 20 months or so and he quite liked it. We took him to the 3d one too.

Gosh I am EXHAUSTED. I'm actually that tired that my legs are shaking when I stand up Shock dinner bath and bed I think!
Tempted to test with a digi in the morning but I'll still only be 13dpo and I don't want to waste it.

eeyore2911 · 20/11/2013 18:33

Maybe I'll see if I can farm DS out somewhere! And yep £14.99 each way East Mids to Venice Shock

Babymamatobe · 20/11/2013 19:53

Hey everyone, been posted missing lately!! I'm 33 and this is number 1 for us.

Excitement is going into overdrive now! Hope you're all well x

Hollyjokes · 20/11/2013 20:22

What a bargain eeyore! ShockSmile

Dinky I am exhausted too. I've had a really busy day today and I'm now slumped on the sofa watching masterchef - the kitchen is a state but I can't be bothered to care!

Babymama I'm so excited too! Can't believe that I'm not even quite 5wks yet. I need to step away from the double pram google searches before I drive myself crazy! Grin

Same holly!! Time is going so slowly!!!

Allypallyjelly · 21/11/2013 07:09

Hi everyone,
Sorry for being MiA. No morning sickness but headache and diarrhoea ! Did a cb digital and it's showing 2-3 weeks so I guess I'm on the right track (?!). I think I'll leave it til next week before referring to midwife led unit at uch (instead of whittington).

Fingers crossed it will all go ok for us xxx

baggyoldcow · 21/11/2013 08:06

Morning Ally, I'll add you in a mo. UCH is great, my sister had her babies there!

I had at least 8 hours sleep last night (minor pee-break at 3, but got back to sleep pretty quickly) - but I feel absolutely shattered this morning. Skipped swimming which is a bit naughty, but I just didn't have the energy.

Am now really trying to resist going to the canteen and buying something BAD like a sausage roll to help me along with the morning.

Hi 2be! Congratulations and welcome Smile

Baggy I'm exhausted too. Got about 7 and a half hours sleep and it was nowhere near enough. I'm like a walking zombie at the moment!

I'm off for a haircut later and hoping that the hair dye smells dong make me feel too sick. I can't remember the advice on hair dye during pregnancy - is it ok after the first trimester? Or is it a complete no no?
