Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Missvaughan85 · 11/12/2013 21:59

I've sneakily just done a clear blue and it's come out 2-3 weeks, only did another digi on Monday, can it really change that much in 3 days??

NameToBeDecided · 11/12/2013 21:59

rose please don't panic. So many of us have drunk before we knew we were pg and things have been fine, I did with my 1st pg and I have a healthy 2 yr old dd now. Try not to worry.

2beornot · 11/12/2013 22:17

Rose, with my first I POAS on the fri and bfn. Went on a hen weekend. POAS mon (AF due sat) and BFP! I was so nervous but no problems at all!!

RoseHoney · 11/12/2013 22:31

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm sure I must've drunk a little before I found out I was pregnant with my other 2 children.
It's the lack of symptoms that's panicking me, also the fact my tests aren't getting darker, they're still faint. Is it every 72 hours the hormones double? Or am I making that up? Confused Lol.

mammabear4 · 12/12/2013 07:25

Hi everyone, can I join this thread?? :)
Congrats to everyone on here and good to see a couple of teachers too! One week til Christmas hols... Don't know if it's being preg or just general fatigue but I'm shattered and so ready for it!
Stats are:
Due date 14th Aug, 24 yrs old, DC #1

FEEdec · 12/12/2013 08:06

Hi please can I join?

I found out yesterday that I'm pregnant but not really sure when I'm due? I had my implant out on the 4th November and we had sex a few days later so I think that's when we conceived? But I haven't actually had a period since before I was pregnant with my son who's just turned 2. I did have some spotting back in July though.

I'm thinking of ringing the midwife today to see if I can have a scan soon to determine how far along I am?

We're very happy about the baby but a little in shock as we really weren't expecting it to happen so soon Smile

FEEdec · 12/12/2013 08:08

Oops forgot my stats
35 yrs old DC#2 ??due early August

talulahbelle · 12/12/2013 09:26

Welcome all newbies!

Well, I took my first dose of Avomine (promethazine teoclate) last night and I have hardly any nausea today. No appetite, but I can think about and eat food too. I'm a bit groggy and drowsy though, so still at home today, hopeful of making it back into work tomorrow. Anyone else here taken/taking the same drug?

FEEdec · 12/12/2013 10:04

No haven't heard of Avomine before - is it for morning sickness?

I haven't felt nauseous at all and thankfully never did with my previous pregnancy so I'm hoping I don't again this time.

In fact I don't really feel any different, I'm a bit tired but then I'm always tired, such is life with a 2 year old who's sleep is still hit and miss. I can't fathom what made me take that test yesterday?! It was on hell of a shock when I got a positive dark line within seconds!!

talulahbelle · 12/12/2013 11:20

It's for nausea but a bit of googling shows loads of people have used it in pregnancy.

Saying that, I've just had some brown/red spotting so now I am on terrified knicker watch, thinking my lack of sickness today isn't down to the drug but rather the pregnancy failing, or that I have killed my baby with one dose of it.

flymo79 · 12/12/2013 11:34

talulah, try not to stress. I just had a really good appointment with the dr, she said that environmental factors are hugely unlikely to affect the baby at this stage, and that includes what we eat and drugs (I asked about cold relief as I have a stinking one right now). She said if something fails in the pregnancy early on it is 99.9% likely to be genetic or some kind of embryonic anomaly. It's highly likely the anti-nausea drugs are just doing their thing!

keep us posted, hope the spotting stops xxxx

flymo79 · 12/12/2013 11:35

dinky how are you feeling? hope you got to see the doc today as well xx

DinkyMole · 12/12/2013 11:53

I'm still off work, the dizziness seems to be starting in the morning now rather than just the afternoon. Doc was a bit useless and patronising but signed me off for a week to rest so I am lying on the sofa watching Phil and Holly Wink

flymo79 · 12/12/2013 12:00

gah, sorry to hear that dinky, hope you get lots of rest though

DinkyMole · 12/12/2013 12:01

Hope you feel better soon too Smile

Howly · 12/12/2013 12:15

Tallulah I took promethazine hydrochloride yesterday and although the nausea abated I was sssooooo dizzy and drowsy, I passed out in the shower and found standing difficult, so I stopped taking it! I feel better today, not been sick and managed to finish washing my hair (that I failed to do yesterday) I'm gonna see how I am over the weekend and try school on Monday!

HungryHorace · 12/12/2013 12:20

Hi to the newbies!

Talulah, try not to worry too much (impossible, I know). Do you have an EPU you can call?

Sorry to everyone feeling grim. I hope you all feel better soon. I only feel rough on waking. Once I've been up a while I may as well not be pregnant! :-/

Ruggle · 12/12/2013 12:21

RoseHoney, how many weeks are you? My first +ves was at 8or9 dpo, and were quite faint for about 7 days, but then by about 18/19 dpo they started to get quite dark, and yesterday at 20dpo even my Superdrug test line was as dark as the control. It can take a bit of time, depending on when you started testing. I'm stopping testing now, except for one CBdigi that I want to use in a few days to check that it says 3+....

Howly · 12/12/2013 13:13

Effects of being pregnant - not being able to watch certain adverts on tv!

  1. Macmillan 'twinkle twinkle little star' advert because it makes me cry
  2. Asda christmas meat advert because the roast beef joint makes me wretch!

Lush!

Hollyjokes · 12/12/2013 14:11

Hi ladies, sorry to hear that so many of you are feeling poorly. I'm home from hospital now after being admitted yesterday for dehydration and feeling very tired and groggy. Luckily DH has taken the day off work and has taken DD out so I can get some rest.

Has Mrsmusic updated yet? Hope you're ok?

Welcome & congrats to the newbies! Can't believe how long our list of August babies is now! Smile

Good to see you back Holly hope you're much better soon.

HungryHorace · 12/12/2013 15:12

I hope mrsmusic is OK.

I've just had my flu jab. In and out in less than a minute!

I'd just like to feel a bit more pregnant now please!

talulahbelle · 12/12/2013 15:15

Woo, holly is back!

I've had a nap and done a bit of house work - touch wood the spotting has stopped again. 4 days until my next scan, the wait is going to be tortuous.

hungry I did call the EPU, but they couldn't get me in before Monday and I'm already booked to be scanned then anyway. I think because it's only spotting and no cramps I am not an emergency.

howly I am so groggy, sleepy and dizzy at times it's awful. I can't decide what is easier to cope with, this or the nausea. I am just taking it a day at a time, still feeling the guilt about being off work, I didn't even set cover today just emailed and asked my HoD to.

RoseHoney · 12/12/2013 15:18

Thanks Ruggle.
I tested Monday on CD24 and got a faint positive, did 2 more that day both even fainter (to be expected cos it wasn't FMU) then tested every morning since, Tuesday and wednesday were also faint and took a minute or two to come up but tested again today (CD 28 and day AF was due) and it is slightly darker and now it's dried it's the same darkness as the control line so I'm guessing all is fine Smile
Just me being a worry pants lol.
