Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Hope you feel better soon Holly Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 12/12/2013 15:22

Ruggle you've helped out my mind at rest as well as rose honey. Thank you for that. I'm officially due af today (14dpo) and not getting any darker so feeling very anxious esp after last months chemical.
Booked mw appt today, not til 23rd Jan!!

DinkyMole · 12/12/2013 15:33

What are you testing with Choccy? ICs? Mine never got darker, not even when I had 2-3 on a digi.

Howly · 12/12/2013 15:59

talulah I was off earlier this term having had an emergency laproscopy and my hod told me I was not indispensable, this made me feel rotten and like I was worth nothing to my dept and school so I'm not feeling guilty... Life will go on and so will school so just say f**k it out loud and look after yourself, it's better than vomiting at school, passing out in front of the kids and having everyone fussing! It's nearly Xmas, the kids are bonkers and not very focused on learning, they will cope without you! Rest and take care of you and your baby and remember your not alone, I'm doing it too!!

So sorry to hear you were admitted Holly I hope your feeling better!

Choccywoccydodah · 12/12/2013 16:29

Dinky I've tested with ics, yesterday a superdrug one (which to be fair has been the stronger one so far) and today a Sainsbury's which was VERY light. Think am going to leave it til Saturday now Smile

NameToBeDecided · 12/12/2013 16:35

Choccy I've found that superdrug own tests are always light anyway. Boots own seem to be the best, they come up quick and strong line even when I only get faint on SD ones.
Not obsessively POAS honest!

NameToBeDecided · 12/12/2013 16:36

Meant to say sainsburys were light for me too!

Ruggle · 12/12/2013 17:11

I've discovered that my OPKs (cheapies) are working as a pregnancy test at the mo. Very very dark line where it usually predicts ovulation. Darker than the usual ovulation line. I haven't tried the IC pregnancy ones, so not sure if they work as well.

Superdrug does stay quite light until 20 or so dpo, and FR got dark around 17dpo (it's now reassuringly way darker than the control line).

I found the ClearBlue test (non-digi) to be the worst one. It starts with a thick pale line and after a while turns into a very thin slightly darker one, and then fades again.

I've been studiously following my progression!

Definitely obsessive......

HungryHorace · 12/12/2013 17:16

I can confirm that OPKs are reassuringly dark too! There's not much dye left for the control line now for me. :-)

My 16 DPO FRER had a much darker test line than control.

I haven't got any IC HPTs to know what they would be doing.

I'm saving my last digi until next week when it should be 3+ as I'm about 5 weeks' pregnant now. W00t...1/8 of the way through! :-)

miserywaterfall · 12/12/2013 18:00

Not a great day here. Funeral this afternoon of a freind's dad and when I got home and went for a pee (TMI incoming) when I wiped it was a bit red. Cue a bit of a freak out from me. Went for a lie down and a cry but trying to calm myself now. Have peed again and saw a few very liight red drops but no more red when wiping. Have some cramping, not sore though, just there but I am thinking the worst. I will obviously wait and see what happens from here as there hasn't been anything other than that wee bit of red.

Can anyone advise me on what to do if the worst should happen? I'm new to this whole thing and not sure what to do at all. I am 6weeks + 1.

Ruggle · 12/12/2013 18:11

miserywaterfall, unfortunately there isn't much you can do.
If the worst were to happen (and fingers crossed it won't!!) there's a very good thread here which I've sadly had to pour my heart out on twice now:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/miscarriage

However, I keep reading that spotting in early pregnancy is quite normal.
Try not to worry!

miserywaterfall · 12/12/2013 18:17

Thank you Ruggle, will take a look over there, just want to be prepared if I need to be. x

Polkadot1 · 12/12/2013 18:40

Just booked my first midwife appt for 27th Dec- seems ages away- but not really! They called me back whilst I was at work, so had to subtly find somewhere private to take the call!

Shakshuka · 12/12/2013 18:43

Hello all

miserywaterfall
You must be so anxious, any bleeding is so scary. Ruggle is quite right that there really is nothing you can do. I've said it already on this thread but I had bleeding with both my dc. Usually it was brown but with #1 it went on for ages and a couple of times I had proper red blood - once it was even heavy like a period. I remember being referred for a scan at about 7 weeks, completely sure we'd lost the pregnancy, and everything was totally fine. Try and take your mind off it as much as possible (I know, almost impossible task but really try and keep busy). I really hope it's all OK

Talulah
Don't feel guilty! You're not well (OK, not ill but you may as well be considering how you feel) and you're entitled to time off.

choccy
My ICs have never turned really dark either. I'm assuming they have saved money on the dye :)

holly
good that you're back and feeling a bit better!

Any news from mrsmusic?

I was chatting with a friend who was supposed to have had a c-section yesterday. She was all prepped and in the OR when the anaesthestist came in and refused to anaesthetise her because she has had a cough for a week! She's been given antibiotics and told to come back in a week. Poor thing was all hyped and ready to go! I ended up blurting out my news to her even though I'd intended to wait :)

Counting down the days until my dr's appointment and hopefully scan on Tuesday. I'm trying to keep emotionally detached from the whole thing, just in case, but if I know all is OK, I think I might start to get excited!

Choccywoccydodah · 12/12/2013 19:25

Misery I'm so sorry you're bleeding, can you call the mw? Or the epu? Normally it you're 6+ weeks they can offer you an early scan.
I had bleeding with ds and all was fine at about 7.5 weeks, I had a scan and saw his little heart beating away. Then last month I had a bleed at cd31 and it turned into full af.
All I can say is call the dr or mw.

Choccywoccydodah · 12/12/2013 19:26

Off to poa ov stick.........

Mabelandrose · 12/12/2013 19:33

I'm going to say hello and then just sneak to the back of the room. I've already had a mmc this year so will just sit silently until I have a 12 week scan. It's going to be a long wait...

miserywaterfall · 12/12/2013 20:03

Thanks Shakshuka, that really helps hearing that.

This might sound weird but it's just the way I feel as if I know that I'm not pregnant anymore... I might just be in shock, hoping so, but can't shake the feeling that yesterday I felt pregnant and today I don't.

I'm going to go to the doctor tomorrow morning in the open surgery, as I only just had my first docs appointment yesterday and he said to come to them in the mean time should anything like this happen. I've probably not even had my details passed on to a midwife or anything yet.
One thing that is worrying me about the tiny bit of bloodis the occasional sharp pain just in my right side. I've had pain there the whole time but wasn't worrying about it til now (after reading about the corpus luteum, etc).

Will see how things go. Am calm now. These things happen for a reason and becoming hysterical isn't going to help my mental health any, so trying to focus and whatever will be, will be.

Thanks for listening to me, it's helped me a lot :) x

chocolocodowninacapulco · 12/12/2013 20:13

Evening all,

Thanks for the welcome.

misery sorry to hear about the bleeding and yes, you should be able to go to the EPU for an early scan.

talulah glad to hear you're getting some relief from the anti-sickness drugs and hope your spotting has stopped now. Not sure about your marmite tea by the way, I've eaten 2 packets of marmite crisps today -oops!

I've become a POAS addict too, bit scared having had 2 mcs, this is my 4th IVF and DE this time, so hopefully things will be different. I made my booking in appointment today for the 10th January and rang the IVF clinic to book my early scan which will be when I'm 9+2! I asked about the flu jab and they said to get it done in about 4 weeks time, but I think I remember reading that some of you had it quite early on?

I am feeling nauseous and the odd cramps, boobs a little sore and a bit dizzy. I'm doing a digi on Saturday as I had a bad experience with them last time so trying not to obsess too much yeah right

37 yrs old, 4+1.

chocolocodowninacapulco · 12/12/2013 20:14

Sorry misery x-post. It sounds like you're doing the right thing getting checked out tomorrow.

Hollyjokes · 12/12/2013 20:15

Oh misery I'm so sorry you're going through this. I just wanted to second what Shak said - bleeding/spotting doesn't necessarily mean the worst. I had spotting and still everything looked fine at my scan yesterday.
You don't need to be booked in with a midwife to visit the EPU. I'm sure if you gave them a call they could advise/reassure you. Hopefully they could even offer you a scan. I hope your doctors appointment tomorrow goes well too x

Hi Mabel, congratulations on your pregnancy. When you are ready to join in give us a shout with your details and I'll add you to the list (this seems to be my job but I kind of like it - I like lists and organisation! Smile)

Has anyone else had funny reactions from the GP's receptionists? I had a good one today - wandered in to say I'd had BFP and needed to fill in the form so the midwife could contact me. I got as far as 'I've had a positive pregnancy test and I need....' when she butted in,
"No you don't. The midwife will contact you!"

I THOUGHT 'Well, she's not psychic, I DO need to let her know I'm pregnant!!' but managed to respond in a more, 'There was a form to fill in last time,' way. Honestly! I only wanted to fill in the bloody form!

Shakshuka · 12/12/2013 20:26

bronya
that's just rude!!!!

EssexGirlLottie · 12/12/2013 20:45

Hi. I'm new here so forgive me if I don't know all the acronyms. Just literally got a BFP on a digital test. It said 2-3wk pg but last AF was early Nov so I guess a doctor would say I was due in Augst?..
Now I am bricking it. Am so lucky to say that we were only trying for a month but just realised I have no idea what is happening! Also, I have no symptoms yet but after looking at the treads, that's not so uncommon. DH doesn't seem to have taken it in yet!
Anyone else just found out?..

travispickles · 12/12/2013 21:02

Hi lottie. I presume your first? Bit of a shocker, mine was like that. You expect to take ages and are pregnant straight away, it's a head wrecker :-). I have had parents evening til gone 7 tonight, such a long day! About to sleep although feel sicker lying down. Just one more week...
