Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Morning all! A mixed morning here...I had an appalling sleepless night (I've gone from immensely sleepy fatigue to wide-awake insomnia) BUT I had a scan this morning to cheer me up.
The bubs measured 7+4 and they were both clearly visible with BOOM BOOM heartbeats pumping away. However common reproduction may be it remains the most incredible thing.
SO, ruggle, I'm a big fan of scans. I had some bleeding at 4-5 weeks and had a scan at 5.5 - it was extremely reassuring to see the sacs even though there were no heartbeats yet, and to get the measurements and know that everything looked fine. If I had been waiting until today for the first scan I would have been a wreck by now. Of course because I live in Kenya I have no NHS and can only get private scans but they aren't too expensive - about £30 a go, but if the option's available to you I would grab it!

PinaColadas · 10/12/2013 07:34

I'm the same about christmas, wish it would hurry up and go away! My MC baby was due at christmas which is difficult but this new hope is definitely going to make it easier.
Feeling a big dodgy this morning, hope everyone else is ok.
I've still been POAS, only cheap ones and twice since first test I did, I figure why not when I can buy 3 for 99p, it soothes me to do them ha.

Have a good day ladies x

PinaColadas · 10/12/2013 07:36

X posts there baggy that's fab news I bet it was an amazing feeling to see your twins! I would definitely snap their hands off at £30 a go!

baggyoldcow · 10/12/2013 08:36

Thanks pina, and yes, I must say that what I lack in options such as Harmony tests I more than make up for by popping in for regular scans!

TwerkingNineToFive · 10/12/2013 08:36

Okay I have a definite symptom I'd completely forgotten about from last time. Crazy dreams!
Last night I dreamt I was tony sopranos wife and I tried to get him 'whacked', only for him to find out and come after me destroying our mansion (that we also rented to people as a holiday home). I escaped by jumping over the front gate?!?

flymo79 · 10/12/2013 09:03

science!!! welcome! and congratulations! I'm so pleased to see you here. everything crossed for you, hoping you have a very healthy pregnancy

ScienceGeekGirl · 10/12/2013 09:13

Hello flymo. Nice to have you join me! Heehee it's nice to have familiar names from the conception buses. Well I think I have my first symptoms (although not told DH as he keeps saying too early to get anything). Everything smells. Not feeling sick from it but I can tell you traveling on the train some ppl need to wash more regularly lol

funkymonk · 10/12/2013 09:32

Congrats baggy! Lovely news!

Welcome Science. I remember you from the buses though after my mc in july I wasn't a frequent poster. Im 31 will be 32 before baby arrives and we conceived cycle 12. Mc cycle was cycle 8 so that took time also!

Got repeat scan tomorrow morning. Last weeks early scan was due to a lot of brown cm. Baby was measuring 5+2 rather than my dates of 6+3 which I know to be correct give or take a day or so. Have now been having brown cm for 9 days. Eased off yesterday. Very nervous about scan tomorrow and just hoping it has shown some growth. Should be 7+2 by my dates!

2beornot · 10/12/2013 09:51

Piña - my mc baby would be due around Christmas (27th) so looking forward to that being over. I can't wait til I can enjoy this pregnancy.

Twerking - I'd forgotten about the crazy pg dreams too! Well until the other night when I was playing international rugby for England and took a photo of a friend with jonny wilkinson

Hollyjokes · 10/12/2013 10:10

Yay baggy! Your scan news made me smile when I read about it on the FB group this morning and it's just made me smile again Smile

Twerking I have the crazy sense of smell too - a EVERYTHING smells horrible!

Good luck for tomorrow funky, keeping everything crossed for you that everything will be ok x

Welcome to Rose & Science Smile

Congrats Science Smile I remember you from the November bus. Looks like your doctor was wrong Smile

Nothing much to report here. Still nauseous and lightheaded. On a count down to my early scan - 6 days to go Grin

Hollyjokes · 10/12/2013 10:12

Oh wait, I just saw that it was Science who mentioned that everything smells, not Twerking! But yes to the mental dreams too Twerking! Grin

2beornot · 10/12/2013 10:21

My poor DH is getting a complex because I keep telling him his breath smells!! It never does normally so I'm sure it's a just the pg!!

baggyoldcow · 10/12/2013 10:22

agh, funky I missed the news about your last scan...sorry to hear you are worried. Fingers and toes crossed all goes well tomorrow. x

Hollyjokes · 10/12/2013 10:34

2be - yes! During my last pregnancy I used to put a pillow between mine & DH's faces at night because I thought his breath smelt horrible. It miraculously disappeared once I'd given birth though!

OP posts:
Hollyjokes · 10/12/2013 10:36

Oh, another thing! Is anyone else suffering with restless legs at night? I can't keep the bloody things still! I can't remember having this symptom so early last time!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 10/12/2013 10:49

Ah, yes, crazy dreams. Weird how I discount that as a symptom when it actually is. That's always how I know I'm pregnant right from implantation. That and disgusting night sweats. It's so bloody grim. :-/

And 2be, thank you for saying that about your DH's breath. I'm having that problem too. Last time he smelled awful generally to me. So far this time it's just his breath. I had wondered what was going on!

Holly, I had that problem with my legs last time. Nothing this time yet. Have you tried eating bananas?

I've got quite a bit of ligament stretching going on today. Ouchy.

Welcome to any newbies I've missed and yay to exciting scan news! :-)

flymo79 · 10/12/2013 11:54

hey gals, got a weird one for you, how do you sleep? I mean in what position? I always sleep on my tummy and have been finding it so hard trying not to, I start off on my side and always end up waking up on my tum. I'm wondering how long I can do this before I start causing any harm? My boobs are painful too which makes it quite an uncomfortable night, but I know as soon as I drop off I end up rolling on to my front. Anyway, have been waking in the night really panicked that I'm squishing the bean...!

DinkyMole · 10/12/2013 12:27

I sleep on my tummy. It will become uncomfortable for you to do it before it's dangerous, don't worry Smile

PinaColadas · 10/12/2013 12:30

I sleep on my side spooning a pillow haha! I've read the best side to sleep on later on is your left so trying to train myself now! Never been able to sleep on my tummy because of my bbs!

Hollyjokes · 10/12/2013 12:41

I will try bananas, thanks Hungry. It's driving me nuts! If I can keep a banana down that is! After all my raving that I felt loads better I'm having an awful day today sickness wise. I feel really sorry for my DD as she's cooped up in the house playing with her toys on her own while I lie on the sofa feeling sorry for myself Hmm

OP posts:
baggyoldcow · 10/12/2013 12:59

I'm having restless legs / restless everything now too holly. It's already a bit uncomfortable for me lying on my tummy so I do a half-way house between tummy and side. It lasts about five minutes and then I switch sides, fidget, get up to pee, lie on tum again, decide it's uncomfortable, roll onto other side, block smelly husband breath with pillow (yes, me too!), count 20,000 sheep, roll onto back, try to pin legs down under husband's legs, get up to pee, etc. etc. until dawn. And so on for the next 8 months.

ScienceGeekGirl · 10/12/2013 13:02

Hello dinky, hate to think it but the doctor being so negative about me getting pregnant might have helped as I basically didn't try last month (only DTD 3 times). I'd convinced myself it was impossible that I didn't feel as much pressure. Who knows if this made any difference but just so pleased to have two lines on a pregnancy test finally (15dpo today and both lines are about the same shade yay).

Had a small amount of light brown spotting this morning which freaked me out but it seems to have stopped so hoping all is ok. Really was tiny too so fingers crossed

Oh and how do bananas help restless legs. Don't have this but just wondered

PinaColadas · 10/12/2013 13:02

I just snorted out loud in the office at that last post baggy hahaha

Shakshuka · 10/12/2013 13:18

Thinking of you funky Let us know how it goes tomorrow.
