Hello!

So I'm actually due around 27th July but I went two weeks overdue with my first so I'm pretty sure this will be an August baby Smile

Is there anyone else who is newly pregnant and would like to join me?

Morning. Wow! The nausea has really set in now. I know it's not as bad as actually being sick, but it's pretty constant now.

This may out me, but I work for the nhs as a finance professional. I love my job!!!

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 08:42

Ooh, you can't beat a good spreadsheet!

And I'm on about 4 secret Facebook groups from last time and this time with my conception friends. It's nice to share photos of scans and then babies. :-)

Hollyjokes · 06/12/2013 08:55

I don't really want to say what I do just yet, I'm scared of outing myself before I tell work what's going on!

I'm part of a secret FB group too from my last pregnancy. It's great because we can talk openly without having all the details all over the internet for anyone to see! I don't mind setting one up if people are interested?

Booking in appointment in an hour, why am I nervous?!

I was a City solicitor but have been a SAHM since dd was born. Like the sound of a secret fb group! I'm on lots of private nappy-related fb groups as I run a cloth nappy library so am on fb waaaay too much. Ha that would totally out me to anyone who knew me Grin

Hollyjokes · 06/12/2013 09:17

Hehe! Well I'll tell you what, when I get back from my booking appointment in a bit I will set up the group so anyone who wants to join if you pm me your email address or real name then I will add you to the secret group Smile

Of course, this thread will still be running too so don't feel like you have to join the FB group if you don't want to! Smile

morning ladies, very interesting hearing what you all do! I work in a university. not sure when to tell work people. I don't diet but get a feeling I may need to after this, will be huge with all the biccies I'm eating, telling myself it's ok to treat myself every now and then (i.e. four times a day)! Am also a runner, travis what's the deal with running and PG, how long can we keep going? read something scary about body temperature...

flymo79 · 06/12/2013 09:44

also, wah, I'm not on facey-b so will stick here and hope I don't end up alone!

funnyfish2 · 06/12/2013 09:50

Thanks for all the messages of support! Had a good night's sleep and woke up in better mood. Had quite a bit more brownish pink discharge, more than just spotting but at least no cramps today. Will try to stay positive. And calm.... Right.

On a different note entirely, I teach South African history and the news Nelson Mandela died really floored me. Not sure what the country, or the world, will look like without him.Rest in peace, Tata Madiba.

flymo79 · 06/12/2013 10:28

funnyfish glad you are feeling bit more calm, really hope it's all ok. Hope your cold is better today. I had a little cry about Mandela in the car on the way to work, very moving tributes on the radio. The world is certainly a better place thanks to his tireless work, we can only hope others will follow where he has trod.

Nulanoo · 06/12/2013 11:05

Hello everyone :) we got our bfp almost 2 weeks ago so I'm approx 6 weeks now and due august! I feel dreadful and I'm off work sick today not sure if it's baby related or something else. X

isitnearlyteatime · 06/12/2013 11:12

hi everyone - Im a law student - a rather old one at that but I guess its never too old to learn or at least that's my saying!

do hope you are feeling better funnyfish - fingers crossed for you

I was very upset by the news about mandella - the tributes were very moving - he was inspirational in every way

no sickness today but am not hungry at all in the slightest so it will be a struggle to force anything down even biscuits which is saying something!

isitnearlyteatime · 06/12/2013 11:14

welcome and congrats nulanoo :)
Im due in august too and am very excited :)

Hollyjokes · 06/12/2013 12:28

Welcome and congrats nulanoo!

Flymo you could start an FB account for the purpose of joining the group! Grin I'm going to start it in a moment so anyone else who wants to join send me a pm.

I just had my booking appointment! I was worried about my bmi but my constant vomiting has brought it down from 32 to 30.8 so with me being only borderline above 30 I just got a bit of a talking to about healthy eating in pregnancy and that was it! I got my notes, booked into system, bloods done and 12wk scan arranged. It's all very real now! Grin

Hi Nulanoo! Welcome :-)

I'm sitting on the sofa scoffing biscuits. Not because I feel sick, just because I'm starving!

I've just walked a few miles with DD, but I'm not going to keep my weight under control if I then stuff my face. Hmmm!

AF would've been due today and I'm quite crampy, so feeling a bit nervous and definitely on knicker watch.

Holly, I can't wait for my booking in appt. It'll feel real then. When's your scan?

Funny, I hope things continue to improve for you today. How are you doing now?

2beornot · 06/12/2013 13:39

Holly - we haven't told anyone yet, and I'm so paranoid so I'll pm you once I've had a happy 12 week scan! And that's good news on the BMI! I managed to get docs to use my BMI from May so not too bad.

talulahbelle · 06/12/2013 15:29

I am trying to stick with healthy snacks to avoid weight gain, low GI to help keep my blood glucose constant too. So porridge, oak cakes, dried fruit. To be fair I've not had any sickness, just nausea occasionally and not really fancying anything.

I like the idea of a Facebook group, holly I've PMd you.

Ruggle · 06/12/2013 15:39

Starting to feel a bit excited. I'm 4+2 today, and been testing faint+ve on FRERs for the last 5 days...but today was a darker line. I can't stop staring at it!

isitnearlyteatime · 06/12/2013 15:40

hi Holly - Im the same as 2beornot as in I haven't told anyone yet so if its ok I'll pm you once Ive hopefully had a happy 12 week scan too - fingers crossed this goes well - Im absolutely petrified already

hope everyone is ok this afternoon

Is anyone else at just over 5 weeks and not experiencing sore boobs whatsoever?? - mine have had no aches or pains and feel exactly the same :( I only wanted reassurance as it seems like lots have this early pg symptom apart from me
hopefully I won't be the only one without sore boobs!

I feel a bit like you talulah - I haven't had any sickness but am not really liking any food + my appetite seems to have gone a bit apart from a craving today for tomatoes - very bizarre :)

isitnearlyteatime · 06/12/2013 15:41

exciting ruggle - that's what happened with me - very very faint for a few days and then a bit darker - very exciting!

Hollyjokes · 06/12/2013 15:51

Isit & 2be - of course, just come join us when you're ready! Hopefully your first posts in the group will be scan pictures of your little babies Smile It's a secret group so none of your family/friends on FB will know you're a member!

Isit I haven't got sore boobs either, they're still exactly the same in every way in fact!

OP posts:
flymo79 · 06/12/2013 15:56

isit - i get very sore boobs before af for at least a week - do you normally? I think the hormones obviously affect everyone differently, I sometimes get horrendous hangovers for little reason (ie after only one glass of wine) when on af too, so am thinking my bod doesn't really cope well with the hormones. I can't say for sure, but this might have something to do with what to expect by way of how your body responds to PG hormones...

isitnearlyteatime · 06/12/2013 16:08

thanks Holly - yes that would be really lovely - I'll keep my fingers crossed for that - I would definitely like to join you all then - due to my previous mcs Im being extra cautious as last time I told everyone then it ended very sadly so now Im just going one day at a time - but that is my goal to come and join you all after the 12 week scan - I would v much like that :)

pleased to hear you haven't got sore boobs Holly as I was feeling like I was the only one and wondering why they weren't responding in that way! Do hope the sickness is getting better for you Holly - lots of sympathy for you as I know how horrible that is - really hope it improves for you

thanks flymo - I do get sore and achy boobs just before AF wh is making me wonder what is going on as it is a standard monthly thing for me and they also get a bit bigger just before af and now nothing - mmmm can't work it out - just so long as its all healthy with the pg I dont mind its just all these lack of symptoms like no sickness and no sore boobs is starting to get me panicky and really worried :( just want the reassurance that its all ok! Pg is turning me ever so slightly bananas!

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 16:10

Ruggle, I'm 4+2 too and am saving my last FRER til Sunday when I'm hoping it'll be darker!

I am steadily getting through my OPKs as well as I just love to POAS! :-)

With DD my boobs were sore from before OV and then for quite a while into the pregnancy. This time, no sore boobs but they're increasing at an alarming rate!

I hadn't made it back into my pre-pregnancy bras due to my ribs not going back to how they were yet, so I could end up with some large bras later on. :-)

Hollyjokes · 06/12/2013 17:40

Thanks isit - the midwife today couldn't believe that my GP was so touchy about prescribing meds for me. I went to get my prescription this morning and it still wasn't ready Confused but I was assured it would be done this afternoon so my husband should be collecting it for me any time now. I'm hoping by this evening I'll have some lovely anti sickness meds in my system, just hope they work! I've heard that the earlier you start on the meds the better, so fingers crossed!

Try not to worry about symptoms/lack of isit, as flymo said - we all react to pregnancy hormones differently. Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones who doesn't suffer Smile

Do you know what, my boobs didn't grow much throughout my entire pregnancy with DD! I needed bras with a bigger back size but my cup size stayed the same! Weirdly, my back size never went back down to my pre-pg size, so I dread to think what size bras I'll be in this time!

Hello! Can I join you ladies? Had a BFP yesterday, I'm 5 weeks tomorrow, DD works out as 9th August. Very excited but just trying to get by day by day I think, until the 12 week scan!
