Morning all. I'm feeling very pg now. Baby wriggling and kicking about all night. Hope it isn't awake all night once it's born!

Enjoying it but am so tired!! Need to rest more but not easy coming up to Christmas. I've got DH's Xmas party this Friday, then another Xmas party on Sat, so can't see me getting much of a rest this weekend!!

I did get a maternity dress to wear from mamas and papas. Luckily they were doing 20% off!

this is it. I'm hoping they are not serving aubergines for the meal tho!!

liberuna · 03/12/2013 08:21

Oops mrsk baby brain alert!

block hope you ok . Don't stay away too long And pm us if you need a chat.

fox gpod point. We're running out of how many of these we can go to.

Ex gf - she's a bit weird anyway. And me and OH have had words in the past about her behaviour. He always has conversations with her on loud speaker for my sake even though I've told him its not necessary. She didn't say "i love you" in a Marilyn Monroe way but definitely was not a platonic version either. OH just said bye and hang up. Im guessing he didn't hear or ignored it.

Im thinking I might just leave it. No point having a row about something she's done. But I am keeping an eye on it as she's currently having problems with her own boyfriend.

Hope today is better for everyone! 33 days till Xmas!

Rockchick1984 · 03/12/2013 08:34

Lib she sounds like a weirdo, but the fact that he puts his phone on loudspeaker without you asking him to shows you have nothing to worry about - he obviously knows she's a bit odd too!

Block talk to you soon when you're ready to come back Thanks

Owl dress looks gorgeous!

Lumpy are you feeling better for being signed off? I think you did the right thing, it's just not worth risking yours and baby's health!

Soooooo tired today, despite getting over 8 hours sleep!! Didn't even wake up for a wee, very unusual for me!

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 09:11

Morning all. I just had a shower at work (due to my bathroom refurb at home). It was weird. And I was so hot trying to get dressed afterwards that I got all sweaty again. It sort of defeated the purpose.

I haven't decided what I'm wearing for work's do on Saturday! I like the idea of a dress but I think I might feel a bit weird in it. I don't wear dresses. And I don't really want to buy one for a one-off. Anyway, I've probably left it too late now anyway.

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 09:37

Also I really need to get a Christmas present for my 3 year old niece in Australia. Last posting day is Friday I think. I have no idea what girly 3 year olds like. My sister said to just get 'something small' due to the postage costs. I went to the toyshop yesterday and it was full of pink crap! I have no idea what variety of pink crap she likes, I've not seen her since she was a baby. Anyway, it needs to be light rather than small per say. Any ideas?

Rockchick1984 · 03/12/2013 10:29

Fox would it be cheaper to order something from amazon and have it shipped directly to Australia rather than buying something and posting it yourself? I don't think the weight affects your delivery charge so would give u a few more options.

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 10:44

Don't think so Rock I tried a few things on Amazon and the delivery charges were crazy!

Rockchick1984 · 03/12/2013 10:50

Ah, ok... My DS is nearly 3 and a friend who is posting his present has got him a jigsaw, he is just really starting to get into them and its easy to package and unlikely to get damaged in the post. Or anything Disney would probably go down well?

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 11:24

Thanks Rock. I feel like I'm taking a total stab in the dark with this. Apparently she does like all that princess/fairy/dressing up/ballet stuff (which is weird, because me & my sister are not like that atall). I'll have a look at Jigsaws. I know she likes Pepa Pig & something called Ben & Holly's little kingdom.

Ugh, this is why I don't do Christmas presents! Smile

BadlyWrittenPoem · 03/12/2013 11:27

I had a MW appointment this morning and was pleased to discover that they are changing the MWs around so I'll be getting a different one. I'm really hoping that the next one has greater knowledge and competence than the current one. Annoyingly I forgot to ask for my MATB1 so I've had to phone and leave a message for her to do one and leave it at the surgery to be collected.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 03/12/2013 11:28

Fox, would a little stationery set be any good? Maybe pencil, ruler, rubber, sharpener and some sheets of pretty stickers.

lumpylumps · 03/12/2013 11:59

Just took my sick note into work. Good job I know the parental leave policy cos one of the case managers who's standing in while my boss is away told me my mat leave would have to start at 29 weeks if I'm off sick!! It doesn't, it's 36 weeks. She told me to check cos things change. I'm right so ner!! It wouldn't make a difference anyway!! I'd still be off!! I'm not making it up!!!

Postable pressie? How about something crafty?? The works or wilkos do nice bits.

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 12:11

More good ideas! Thanks folks.

Good on you for sticking up for yourself lumpy! Can't believe they told you the wrong thing. That's so bad.

FoxMulder · 03/12/2013 13:58

So, I've had a talk with my boss about when I want to go on leave & how long I'll be. He asked if I wanted to come back afterwards, so I said yes, but he didn't ask if I wanted to come back full time still and I didn't say anything about wanting to go part time. Do you think I should, or will it make me look uncommitted? Is this something you talk about nearer the time?

HotCrossPun · 03/12/2013 15:07

Feel like I haven't been on here in ages!

I had a really busy Friday/Saturday/Sunday where I was on my feet for 12 hours a day selling my products at a trade fair.

My feet and ankles got so swollen and painful, I could barely walk by about 1pm each day. By the time I got home on the final day of the show I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I have literally never felt this exhausted in my whole life. I slept for 14 hours that night, and then 12 hours last night and I finally feel human again.

So major hats off to those of you who are still commuting and working away from home full time. I went from feeling totally fine and un-pregnant to an exhausted, tearful mess in the space of 3 days. Grin

lumpylumps · 03/12/2013 16:17

Ignore that!!

BionicEar · 03/12/2013 19:51

Hello!

Feels like ages since I pop my head through the door here! Grin

Am definitely getting bigger as people are starting to notice that I am pregnant. I no longer can wear any of my coats, but have been lent a bigger one by a lovely friend which I hope will last until baby pops out and tummy goes down to a normal size. Thou will be wishful thinking on both of those fronts I reckon! Grin

This baby when it does move, seems to like doing weird moves that makes me go "OUCH!!

Work been a bit crap this week, but hey ho only have tomorrow morning to get through and then can shut down until next week.

Got my implant upgrade on Thurs which I am looking forward to. Just hoping I'll adjust to the new settings quickly, and it doesn't give me headaches.

Anyway going to go as the sprogs are on their way down after their bath which I left DH to supervised.

IceNoSlice · 03/12/2013 20:27

Lumpy well done for asserting yourself - if they'd had their way you would have missed out on 7 weeks of mat pay! That's about £900!!!

BWP, I had a mw appointment today and also forgot to collect my matb1. It hasn't even occurred to me until now. Rubbish! Thanks for the reminder.

PainAuxRaisins · 03/12/2013 20:34

Crikey hotcross that would have finished me off! You've done amazingly well to last 3 days at a trade show - put your feet up now for the rest of this trimester! I popped to get lunch at work today and climbed one solitary flight of stairs back to my office then had to have a 15 minute powernap (well, head rest/eyes closed on my desk) before I could summon enough energy to eat it! How pathetic is that?? I'm finding work is only ok so long as I don't have to move from my seat Grin (lazy)

MacD75 · 03/12/2013 22:19

Yes mrsksays I'm definitely feeling very pregnant now. My bump seems to have exploded in the past few weeks, gettings socks & shoes on is a massive pain, every morning I'm stiff as a board and after a day in work I'm wiped out! 14 weeks to go, at times it feels like ages and at other times like it'll be over in 5 minutes!

Anyone know how I get on the facebook page?

BionicEar · 03/12/2013 22:34

MacD75 and um... gone blank on name of whoever else was asking (sorry!) to get on Facebook page you need to PM Lyra your Facebook username and she will add you to the group.

liberuna · 04/12/2013 05:47

lumpy glad that was resolved easily enough. Hate it when they don't know what they're talking about. Ladies take a lesson, read up and never take their first answer.

hot Really impressive. Im commuting but have sit down job so can spend the day recovering from fighting London transport. Was it a successful 3 days?

badly hopefully you'll have better luck with next mw. If not can you request one?

bionic oooh that must be exciting for new cock plant.
May I recommend a maternity jacket? My mum got a cheap one from eBay. Will serve for winter for growing bump and for next year when im carrying baby around too.

fox I'd leave my options open work wise. You might want to work part time or not at all. As long as you give them enough notice you'll be fine. Factors to consider and you should check HR or staff handboo. Is How long are you telling them you want off? And are you being paid over SMP? As you may have to pay them back if you don't go back to work.

FoxMulder · 04/12/2013 09:35

Morning all. I only woke up at 8am this morning! I start work at 8am! (I feel like most of my posts start in this vein). Then I had to get a shower when I got to work. It is very weird talking to your boss when you've just got out the shower (and got dressed, obv!!)

I'm still managing to squeeze into my coats - just. After that I will be moving in to one of DH's. The arms on ladies' coats tend to be too short for me anyway.

lib thanks for the advice. I'll keep quiet on my plans once I return to work for now then. I've told them I want a year off (but that I might be back sooner). Not being paid over SMP. I don't have a staff handbook, although my contract refers to one a few times! Anyway, I did ask my boss and definitely nothing over SMP.

Got a MW appointment myself this afternoon.

liberuna · 04/12/2013 09:44

fox if so then you're fine. You'll have 39 weeks paid. The first 6 weeks at 90% pay, the remaining at std SMP.Anything over is unpaid. Id ask around for staff handbook just to be sure. That will tell you if there is anything above std notice period you need to give.

My morning wasn't much better. Woke up at 5am for no reason. Then fell asleep at 7 when I had to get up. Now running late to work.
