Ps sorry for atrocious spelling, stupid phone

Rockchick1984 · 20/11/2013 16:01

Lib as long as you don't have the baby before that then technically you should be ok... They may be funny about it though as its a bit of a grey area. Could you not start may leave on due date and start hols a few days earlier? Depending on your holiday policies you may lose the hols if you don't take them as work don't have to let you carry them over.

FoxMulder · 20/11/2013 16:06

Yeah, I think mat leave starts automatically the day after the baby is born, if you haven't chosen to start it earlier.

FoxMulder · 20/11/2013 16:42

It feels so utterly wrong being at work when it's dark. I don't think it's something I will ever get used to.

Preg yoga tonight...

Blockette · 20/11/2013 17:20

lib I'm glad things kind of got sorted. It's a pain about Monday, but at least the rest of the week is covered.

I have a strange

Blockette · 20/11/2013 17:37

URGE! That word was urge! Finally came to me! ... As you were ...

CookieThief · 20/11/2013 18:45

Blockette, do you look like Gisele Bundchen in your bikini? If not, please spare a thought for the public (and your dignity).

Blockette · 20/11/2013 21:23

Eeeep! Not that big yet, but I think I will stay home!! Thanks for the reality check cookie!

CookieThief · 20/11/2013 22:09

Sweetheart, no need to stay home, just buy a maternity swimsuit.

P.s. Gisele is horribly thin, in my humble opinion Smile

OwlinaTree · 20/11/2013 22:20

lib hope you are feeling a bit better.

I definately look like that in a bikini!! Grin

dizhin79 · 20/11/2013 23:04

Go swimming, who gives a stuff what u look like, I've been going twice weekly 4 ages and only now think I need a new maty cossie or am going hunting for tankini at the weekend, if they still exist! Swimming is so good for u especially later on when ur bigger!

SuperMuddle · 21/11/2013 07:59

Hi all, sorry I've been AWOL for a few days, been feeling a bit pants. Better now, and you lot always cheer me up anyway. Smile

I've been meaning to go swimming since I got pregnant but still haven't got round to it yet! Maybe today will be the day... I have no excuse as the pool is 5 minutes' walk away, it's free for me, and I've been given a maternity swimsuit, which keeps glaring balefully at me for its lack of use. I really don't give a bollocks what I look like, and think bikinis look great on pregnant women anyway. So go blockette!

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 08:13

Shit. You'll be breastfeeding in the pool next Hmm

mrsksays · 21/11/2013 08:26

Morning everyone, day 6 of waking up with snot all over my cheek but seem t have slept better last night so a, venturing back into the real world today.

We have friends over for dinner tonight and are entertaining all weekend. I will be shattered but we are trying to kill multiple birds with one stone and get all the friend commitments out of the way at once so we can chill.

DH had lunch with his sister yesterday and they had a long chat about everyone giving each other space and respecting our different parenting differences and not getting into one upmanship or competition with each other. It needed to be said, hope it actually sinks in. SIL started NCT the other day and hated it - so our decision to not do it is now justified at least!

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 08:41

Mrsk great news oh had a chat with her, what a relief!
I too have woken to a runny nose and developing into a sore throat Sad

Went to the cinema last night, saw Gravity, I had hoped we were going to see Thor, alas no eye candy for me! booooo

FoxMulder · 21/11/2013 08:59

Oh Block you know not to listen to Cookie! Go swimming! So long as your boobs aren't falling out of your bikini or anything.

Regarding mat cozzies: do they stretch longways as well as widthways by any chance? Because I couldn't fit into normal ones before getting preggers. They don't stretch far enough for my long body!

It's Thursday! Yey! 3 day weeks are great!

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 09:00

Mrsk, what a shame your DH actually had to have that chat with a family member Sad

Ooo, Dizhin! Was Gravity ace? I want to see that almost as much as I want to see Cate Blanchett in Blue Jasmine.

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 09:07

cookie I thought it was a pile of steaming shite, but as I said I was hoping for eye candy and not crappy old Sandra bullock, oh and I hate 3d films, I think they just give u a headache!

that's interesting to hear fox I too have a long body so will def try on b4 buying, think tankini best and pants combo may be only option!

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 09:18

Oi! I didn't say she shouldn't go swimming. Swimming is brilliant but if you want to seriously get/stay fit you will need a properly supported swimsuit, not some absurd two-piece that barely covers the nips. However, if you merely wish to pretend you are doing something useful in pregnancy by bobbing around in the shallow end then wear as little material as you fancy.

Diz, how disappointing; the reviews rave about the astonishing special effects and give it five stars!

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 09:19

..mind you, I've never liked watching horse-face Sandra Bullock.

mrsksays · 21/11/2013 09:31

dishin79 & cookiethief He was having lunch with her anyway but conversation went onto that. I'm glad they had the chat - even though I'm the stronger character, I'm feeling a bit hormonal and emotional about it all.

Anyone else feeling utterly overcome with excitement/anticipation for new baby's arrival? Maybe it's because I'm a first timer but I feel like its dominating (In a good way!) my every thought!

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 09:31

tbh I just thought it was very focused on the 3d and the scenes were all really predictable. Oh thought it was good. But I kept getting annoyed with thinking well that's gonna happen cos we've seen that.... surely. Nasa would make sure she could do xyz, why isn't she xxxxx anyway trying not to do any spoilers, go see it on a 241deal as we did and u won't feel so resentful about all the scenes that make u go grrrr

Magpieblue · 21/11/2013 09:33

I thought Gravity was ace. Totally thrilling. I quite like Sandra Bullock anyway, but she was brilliant. diz Clooney not do it for you?

I've been meaning to go swimming too, feel bad I haven't. I wasn't exactly superfit before but I could run 5k comfortably. Can't even walk up stairs easily now.

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 09:34

Yes, MrsK, I am beginning to get greedily excited to meet my little boy or girl. I am so, so happy we didn't find out the sex; the thought of my lovely fella holding the baby up and saying 'It's a boy!' or 'It's a girl!' quite simply gives me goosebumps. His elderly customers are sending rafts of hand-knitted baby clothes home and I am literally melting every time a new item comes through the door. Such kindness and skill from these lovely ladies Smile

Magpieblue · 21/11/2013 09:43

MrsK I'm starting to get excited now, at last. After months of no symptoms with really only scan pictures and a small bump to prove I'm actually pregnant I'm finally starting to feel the baby at 23 weeks.

It also feels like most of the year has been taken up with trying to sell/buy a house (since May!) which has been incredibly stressful but now we're moving in a couple of weeks so I can start thinking about the baby instead of spending most of my energy shouting at solicitors and estate agents. Trying to ignore the fact we're moving into a house with no central heating during what is predicted to be one of the coldest winters since the Ice Age.
