Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I don't seem to be able to get excited!! I think it's cos Christmas is here first and I kind of gave myself a leave everything till after Christmas rule. I am loving the change in movements tho. It looks like a wave machine at times!

I'm slowly thinking I'm not going to be going back to work. Everyone. Absolutely everyone is telling me I'm stupid to keep trying to carry on. I'll get full sick pay till 4 weeks before my edd and my mat leave was going to start then anyway. I also need to make a decision before the end of the month cos I don't want it to seem like I'm going off just in time for Christmas!!

Hope everyone else is feeling better and that tho heart monitoring doesn't show anything up.

FoxMulder · 21/11/2013 09:57

Literally melting eh Cookie??! Tut tut, I expected better of you Grin

I should do a bit more swimming but I get bored after a few lengths. And I only have a makeshift bikini. It's a cropped top and a pair of underpants that DH doesn't want because they're too tight. I am the scum of the earth.

I'm still thinking about my new bathroom and have not yet turned my mind to the baby. I did unexpectedly enjoy getting some things for him/her at the nearly new sale at the weekend though.

mrsksays · 21/11/2013 10:00

Cookie yes it's the boy/girl moment that I'm so looking forward to as well. Not one moment regret of not finding out the sex. Some people seem to be mildly irritated by it though - have you found that?

Even referring to "it" (which I don't really do - we say "baby" ) hasn't stopped me bonding, I love the little mystery thing growing inside me!

FoxMulder · 21/11/2013 10:01

I'm with everyone else, lumpy. If I were you I would take the sick leave.

mrsksays · 21/11/2013 10:02

I just froze my gym membership as I was barely managing to fit once a week swimming in which wasn't justifying the membership fee. I can swim in council pools for free but there aren't too many near me. Ill have to do some YouTube preggy workouts or just go on some nice walks or out on my bike while I still can.

FoxMulder · 21/11/2013 10:03

mrskay I'm finding people are increasingly convinced that I know the sex but am not telling them. It's a bit weird.

Rockchick1984 · 21/11/2013 10:09

Lumpy I was signed off for most of my pregnancy last time, I kept getting sick notes for 2 weeks at a time until my area manager (was refusing to deal directly with my manager by this point - long story!) pointed out that if I thought I may be signed off long term it was actually easier for them as they could arrange proper cover rather than just trying to "make do" as they were with short notes. You need to put yourself and baby first, you're going to be off for up to a year anyway, a few more weeks won't make a difference to work but will be huge for you!

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 11:24

cookie noooo clooney doesn't do it for me, bit slimy!
fox same here, we've not found out the sex, any time u refer to 'it' as he or she everyone immediately says ooooh u said he/she u know don't u??? Nope we don't, I'm looking forwards to Oh saying it's a x or x, as long as he hasn't passed out that is!!

Regarding the swimming, I go with a pal and we swim and chat the whole time, so prob not going Olympic speeds but still feels good! I just got membership by saying I worked for the. civil service, didn't have to show payslips!! Grin £16 a month woop!! otherwise it's £4.80 a time

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 11:25

that £4.80 is not including the 20p they swipe for the lockers too!

Cassiopeia01 · 21/11/2013 11:35

You ladies have inspired me to get a swimming costume and get my arse to the swimming pool. Course, the bruises on my legs from where I have to inject the insulin aren't overly attractive but neither is the rest of my body!

Had a meeting yesterday with a team member who has been off sick for some months and she looked so terrible and got so emotional that I cried with her. Which would have been fine were it not for the lady from hr and a male colleague who looked at me like I was slightly mental. I really hope it doesn't happen again. I have spent many years building up a reputation as a very assertive no bullshit kind of lady that I can't help but feel I am undermining my authority by blubbing! Fucking hormones!!

Re colds, so far I have managed to avoid them. Had my flu jab a month ago too. Anyone who has a cold is told to stay well away from me!!

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 11:39

Gawd I'm so hungry today have had toast, massive bowl of museli, must keep eating.... think it may be mini cheddars, cup o tea and Crunch cream biscuit time!

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 11:41

sorry posted too soon. cass I know what u mean, I never get colds, take sick days, cry, etc... until I got pregnant that is!

lumpylumps · 21/11/2013 12:37

I'm not much help when I'm there anyway! I'm stuck in the office. Can't go out on visits!

I'm going to the hairdressers in a bit. I usually get a friend to do it. Haven't actually had a "proper" cut and blow dry for about 7 years!!! I'm a bit excited! Tempted to go short again!

Pantomime · 21/11/2013 13:17

Cassiopeia01

Stay strong, hormones are stupid.

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 13:24

Yes, FoxtrotEchoWanky, I literally melted, like the evil queen at the end of Wizard Of Oz when someone chucks a bucket of water over her.

MrsK, no-one can quite believe I have had the self-discipline to not find out the sex. I actually think that finding out is rather bizarre.

I'm not swimming due to the cost, but I work out with kettle bells every other day and can still get up from a cross-legged position on the floor without using my hands

FoxMulder · 21/11/2013 13:33

CookieThief · 21/11/2013 14:21

Oooooo! My niece has asked me to pose for her portrait photography in January at her university. I said yes! What a fantastic late-pregnancy memento

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 14:25

U could ask Gisele to borrow a bikini!
lol seriously, that's a lovely idea and what a memento!

mrsksays · 21/11/2013 14:34

CookieThief Exactly, I think a lot of people think we secretly know and aren't saying

I'm going for a scan next week and I'm actually a little bit worried about accidentally finding out. It's an ultrasound training day for doctors that we volunteered for just as a way of having another little peek inside without paying for a private scan.

Blockette · 21/11/2013 15:10

magpie me too, I wasn't fit, but could do a 27 min 5k. That's why I think I want to do something! and everything I want to do, I'm not allowed advised not too.

Think I will just have to buy a proper costume, maybe that will also give me the shift to go!

Not seen gravity, but DH has and loved it.

Ah cookie that sounds amazing!

mrsk my mum accidentally found out with my brother, make sure from the start that they know you don't want to know the sex, every new person you see - tell them! - good luck!

Rockchick1984 · 21/11/2013 15:27

Cookie do the Demi!!! I didn't get any pictures when I was pregnant last time (think I've got a grand total of 2 photos of me pregnant) and really regret it, so I'm getting some professional ones done this time. Won't be putting them up around the house or anything, but just want them to look back on. I don't want boring white background type things though, so have found someone who will take pics of me, DH and DS playing in the snow together, then some of me to show off the bump :)

MummyPig24 · 21/11/2013 16:03

Dh is convinced that the sonographer said "she". For what it's worth I do think baby is a girl but I don't think the sonographer said it!

I've got a blocked nose and sore throat. I'm exhausted and I really want to go to bed after I barely slept last night. However, life goes on and dinner needs cooking!

BakingEating · 21/11/2013 16:06

cookie Mrsk I secretly know what we're having but won't tell anyone. Bwahahaha it's all part of my evil plan to take over the world!

BakingEating · 21/11/2013 16:11

Just kidding, I know what we're having because it's on the scan: it's a baby

Meanwhile, my first unauthorised bump pat happened at the weekend. It was vey sweet, my friend's 7yo dd gave me a hug to say goodbye and then patted the bump and said 'bye bye baby'.

Also, the ladies in the cafe next to work have been suggesting names for me: Maximillian for a boy and Corinna for a girl. One of them suggested Josephine or Joanna but then laughed like Dr Evil when she told me how they'd be pronounced here (Yosephine and Yoanna)

dizhin79 · 21/11/2013 16:15

mummy me too, sore throat, runny nose and starving hungry all day Sad gave up working today when I closed my eyes for 5mins, that turned into 2 hours, oops! still feel tired, sneezy and hungry
