sinks no more bleeding thankfully. Can't wait until the 18th to see if all is ok.

People have told me that a pram is the only thing worth spending big money on, and to get the best you can afford. Dunno if that helps at all.

dor lovely, how are you today? Sorry you felt so shitty yesterday. Learning to live without your mum is going to be a long process I think. And I could kick The Mister's arse hard for you, I was furious on your behalf. You've had a child and lost a parent in such a short time, two massive life changes, and he's acting like a whiny spoiled brat instead of supporting you? What a dick. (Sorry, but he has no right to speak to you like that.)

faify I'll bear that in mind, thank you.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 06/12/2013 20:51

I dunno sinks, we only spent £400 and I'm really happy with ours. It depends what you need. Mine is crap for off roading but that's only been a problem once in nearly 8 months. You may also find a lightweight pushchair is easier when baybee is a bit older. Have you tested them out? I luff mine because it's so easy to put up and down and goes in my (tiny) boot easily. So it depends what you're getting it for. I know some travel systems are more expensive than others but I don't go Ooh a Phil and Ted's, they're rich!. MSB had a theory that people who own Quinnys are miserable! Every time he sees one he points out their faces Hmm

winks I'll see if I can think of anything else. Feel free to PM me here or on t'other place.

evilgiraffe · 06/12/2013 21:07

Wht have you got, faif?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 06/12/2013 22:06

Babystyle oyster. It was between that and the Graco evo in our budget.

FriendofDorothy · 06/12/2013 23:02

We spent about £350 on our buggy and bought a Baby Jogger City Elite - it's a proper offroader though.

SinkyMalinks · 06/12/2013 23:20

Shall think. Ghj has "banned" adding anymore to the short list (and long list!) of 2. And it has to have a black frame...

I think he's a bit overwhelmed!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 07/12/2013 07:58

Morning PESH! Just caught up and I want to squash Dor and kick the mister into shape! So sorry about it all. Hè needs to man up, you need him to take up his part with grace! Grrr! And you are doing fab!

As to prams I am still blissfully unaware :) the money is a little scary! SB has been making spreadsheets w our finances for the next few years...

On other news my boobs are now a full F cup! It ain't surprising they hurt...

JethroTull · 07/12/2013 18:41

Sinks I bloody love our bugaboo. I think it was worth the £££. We got ours from a wholesale place so was a bit cheaper. Where abouts in the country are you?

SinkyMalinks · 07/12/2013 19:23

Manchester Jeff. I am so tempted.. Met someone today who got her pram as an ex demo from mothercare for £75!!

I didn't mention my possible choice!

FriendofDorothy · 07/12/2013 19:30

The Mister has been awesome today!

I also had flowers delivered from a friend and a present from someone at Mumsnet - several lush kids books. I presume that it was from that award thing. No idea really.

SinkyMalinks · 07/12/2013 19:46

Glad to hear it dor

Perhaps he's a good un after all... Wink

FrankelInFoal · 08/12/2013 08:58

How's everyone doing today? We're off to buy nursery furniture today - eek! We've finally settled on which set we want, from Babies R Us, so have decided we need to bite the bullet and get on with it. Reality is kicking in - if you take out the 10 days I've got off over Christmas (lucky us that they close the office), I've only got 6 weeks left at work Confused

Noks how are you doing? Is that hospital bag packed and nursery painted?!

Finally I think The Little Mister is feeling better. I reckon the antibiotics are kicking in. This morning he demolished breakfast as opposed to lobbing it at the cat. For the last week his diet seems to have mainly consisted of chocolate, fromage frais and boob juice.

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/12/2013 11:29

I'm back from my jolly, at work, and delighted that HWCA's 'utter arsehole' phase (started last night) seems to have been fairly short lived. He even said sorry - most unusual.

Just 3 more hours at work and an hour at the in-laws then I can stick some washing on and sit in my PJs...

And if anyone is thinking about visiting Berlin, I highly recommend it. It seems very baybee friendly too.

MyNameIsWinkly · 08/12/2013 11:34

Glad The Little Mister is doing better dor, and i'm pleased your cat didn't have to dodge any missiles today :)

Eek frank, buying nursery furniture means its Real! Hope the shopping goes smoothly.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 08/12/2013 14:56

Hurrah for better behaviour of your misters bug and small, dor! Glad you got cheery mail as well!

Wow, time is flying, frank! And furniture buying is excessively real!

Today we mainly cooked for the week: soup and stew, and had an invasion of nephews! Too knackered to go swimming afterwards...

evilgiraffe · 08/12/2013 16:52

Ooo, buying furniture definitely makes it all real! Hope the shopping trip was successful :)

HOTB has been fiddling with his bikes, and I have been writing Christmas cards. Next task: put up the tree!

FrankelInFoal · 08/12/2013 16:55

Furniture bought. Cot assembled and HWHNN is in the process of putting together the chest of drawers Shock

We went for this set. The theory being it will last Turnip until she is about 5 years old, or until another smaller person comes along .

I'm trying to concentrate on writing a protocol assignment for my degree research project, which is due to be handed in a week tomorrow, but I'm lacking motivation of every kind!

That place is near Nottingham Sinks - Stork Talk. Might be worth a google? Their website is shit but they have every kind of baby item known to man! And cheaper because they don't have a fancy shop, just an outlet on an industrial estate.

Frank the nursery kit is luffly. It makes it all a bit real once the cot is up!!

I feel ill. Have been in bed since 5pm. Am dreading tomorrow when SSG goes to work. Praying that MiniJeff does not get whatever I have.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 09/12/2013 07:19

Morning hags!

How are you feeling today jeff? Hope things are a bit better, and that you cope with today okay.

My phone makes a hash of everything I type, but I was just expressing happiness at things being a bit better your end, dor.

I just want to say a massive good luck to the scan-twins of today. draf and kat I hope it is a wonderful experience with a bouncy baby for both of you.

I did some exercise on Saturday, approximately the first time in four months. I ache and have great issues sitting down and getting up...

FriendofDorothy · 09/12/2013 09:03

I have two days off and I am going to spend most of it baking Christmassy things. It is just going to be nice to have a bit of time as The Little Mister is at the childminder. I think this is the first child-free/work-free day I have had since Mum died.

MyNameIsWinkly · 09/12/2013 09:09

Ouch driz!

Very best of luck kat and draf, I will be hoping and praying that all is well today.

How are you feeling jeffers? Hopefully MiniJeff won't pick anything up.

frank you actually assembled the cot? Shock Eeek! I do love the furniture set. I would love a nice wardrobe like that but we have ugly, awkwardly placed fitted ones.

norks any progress on the painting?

faith are you feeling any better? How's poor faithlet's hurty mouth? Teething is an awful business. Obviously I don't remember my first teeth coming but I very clearly remember my wisdom teeth coming, ouch. I wanted an adult teething ring then.

I think I overdid things at the weekend, I have a horrible cough and my lungs hurt. I was very wheezy this morning, hooray for whoever invented ventolin! I've been kicked out of the office and sent home, so going for a snooze now.

MyNameIsWinkly · 09/12/2013 09:10

Cross posted with dor - a day of Christmassy baking sounds lovely, what will you be making for me ? How are you feeling today?

FrankelInFoal · 09/12/2013 09:37

Enjoy your baking Dor. My BF has arranged 1 day a week where her PFB goes to spend the day at MILs. She then spends the day either baking or skinning on the sofa watching DVDs!

Good luck for today's scans.

We haven't heard from Ginfox for a while, hope all is ok.

I say we assembled the cot, but HWHNN did most of it: I supervised watched Grin

Sounds like a lovely day dor

Good luck to the scannees today for behaving babies (not hiding in your pelvis like this one does- couch assisted headstands are not fun.

Well. My app tells me I have 99 days till my due date. I'm overly excited to be in double figures and also more than slightly terrified

Pram I think is sorted. GHJ dad works in a leisure centre/gym (at the coffee shop- he's no retirement fitness guru!). He's spoken to parents there and therefore they've put aside £1000 for the pram! Shock And apparently this is explicitly for the pram, not to be spread around other stuff. So they are buying the uber, blacked out, suped up pram GHJ has been lusting after!

(There is a bit of a back story that I won't bore you with here, that explains a bit why they're so generous - I'm trying to assuage some of my guilt with that)
