Will this do? I bet someone's beat me to it now!

Moomin you making him choose between her and you or telling him to get out because you're not putting up with this behaviour anymore doesn't mean you're going to lose him! If he loves you and realises how serious you are, he won't let this come between you and he'll wise up pronto.

If you'd done something and he told you to go, you'd instantly regret it and try your hardest to put things right again, wouldn't you? So will he.

SharpLily · 18/11/2013 18:13

I tend to find hypothetically turning the tables is a quite effective way of making my point - ask him if he'd be happy if you were the one being given affectionate nicknames by a rather too interested 'friend'. This usually focuses their attention appropriately Smile.

Wonderful news Squiffie! :)

I had my consultant appt today, they didn't know why I'd been referred either, quelle surprise...... Anyhoo, they assumed it was because of DSs early arrival at 36wks, so we went through what happened, he said it won't have been due to GBStrep, but they'll book me in for an extra scan at 32wks to check growth is on track.
They might test me for GBS then, but if not said there's no reason why I shouldn't go for a home birth again if I make it past 37wks.

Shattered now, DH is finally home from a long wkend away with his old school mates and I'm off to bed ASAP!

bluestone85 · 18/11/2013 18:45

Hehe little sounds like we have stubborn ones. It's funny as they were wiggling around so much :) x

bluestone85 · 18/11/2013 18:46

*so much last time

mumof2aimingfor4 · 18/11/2013 18:53

blue we both have same due date. Mine was changed by two days at scan. Secretly hoping baby is one day late and arrives on my birthday so I can ignore my birthday forever more! Unfortunately my babies come early.

randdom · 18/11/2013 19:12

Did anyone else find that their sickness got worse again in week 12? It had seemed to be getting better but the last 3days has been worse again. I was just wondering if that was normal.

On the positive side I have just had a nice warm (though not as hot as I like) bath and then my lovely husband had cone in from work with the apple juice and the gherkins I have been craving and has given my feet a good rub! I do love him!

bluestone85 · 18/11/2013 19:14

mum nice to know someone else is due at the same time. My due date was moved forward by 6 days. I'm hoping I'm slightly late as one of my best friends wedding may be on the 25th and I don't really want to miss it lol x

loopylou52 · 18/11/2013 20:07

moomin for what it's worth I agree with sharp's advice. I don't think men do the natural empathy thing too well so forcing him to think about how he'd feel if the situation was reversed may help him to understand. I think it also helps to figure out if it's just because they haven't thought about it or if there is a difference in what each of you considers acceptable.

loopylou52 · 18/11/2013 20:09

wow, random, gerkins?! That's like a proper pregnancy craving! I don't think I specifically got worse again at 12 weeks and I definitely didn't have it as bad as you have but since feeling generally better I have had odd days of feeling sick again, often when I'm tired or have over-done things. Take care Thanks

snoozysleeper · 18/11/2013 20:11

longtailed I'm pleased your consultant appt went well Smile

moomin I'm glad you've spoken to your OH and he has got her to remove the wall post as a result. Who cares if she is huffy? It's probably manipulative behaviour on her part - did you issue an ultimatum? If you don't feel comfortable doing that, sharplily's post is good advice about turning the tables round. Hope he comes to his senses soon!

Squiffie · 18/11/2013 20:51

Totally o/t but an old mate from school is releasing a Christmas song - it's annoyingly catchy like a 'proper' Christmas song...

The 48ks - Happy Christmas Day (CHRISTMAS SINGLE 2013) via @youtube

I kinda like it so wanted to share! If you get chance to have a listen please share it if you like it. Smile

Hendricks · 18/11/2013 20:57

Had my nuchal test results back - apparently "fetusone" is low risk for Down's (they didn't give me any odds in the letter), so that's one less concern.

Went out to a concert on Saturday night. Good night, but woke up on Sunday feeling hungover to hell Confused. I wouldn't mind but I was in bed by midnight and didn't have a drink (other than my Blackadder style extra strong "gin" (soda and lime))

Bump has suddenly sprouted properly - I used to be able to hide it in the morning. Although I can hide most of the time in hoodies; hiding it at bootcamp whilst in lycra or on a posh night out involving a posh frock is going to be nigh on impossible now. With that in mind we told the DC that they would have a little brother or sister next summer. I wish I'd recorded their reaction as they were so completely nonplussed by the whole idea. Grin TBF they are only (just) 3 and coming up for 5, so I don't think time has any meaning for them. What's happening the next day is the big news of the day for them!

Still going to keep it from the wider world for now - especially as MIL will alert the whole of Wales and the west of Scotland as soon as she hears anything.

moominleigh94 · 18/11/2013 21:21

snoozy it wasn't so much an ultimatum as I sent him a lot of messages (I was stuck in a lecture when I first confronted him about it) asking what the fuck she thought she was doing, giving him a nickname, and why he hadn't told her off when no-one else was allowed to call her that, who did she think she is etc etc Grin

So now he knows, never mess with a pregnant moomin Grin

snoozysleeper · 18/11/2013 22:02

Aha good for you moomin Grin hopefully no more of that then!

hendricks great news re your Nuchal scan ! Lycra would be disastrous for me too , although I think the bump hiding is working out pretty well for me ATM. Probably not for much longer though!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 19/11/2013 06:57

I have completely embraced my bump now that we had our scan. Its not mahussive but I look 4 months rather than 13 weeks (3rd baby and crap stomach muscles!) Anyone that knows me has kids and have straight away said, "Ooh another one coming, or when are you due?" Ive never had anyone ask if any of mine were planned though. I find that a very odd question and extremely intrusive.

SharpLily · 19/11/2013 07:43

OK, I've had something playing on my mind since my midwife told me I've got abs like a 'steel plate'. Now in theory I appreciate this is something to be proud of, but it didn't sound like a compliment and I must have watched too much Embarrassing Bodies... You see I've heard about women whose stomach muscles have 'separated' during pregnancy, allowing bits of stomach and hernias and other gory stuff to pop out from between them Sad. I'm freaking out a bit that if my stomach muscles don't have any 'give' in them then this is likely to happen to me Shock. Does anyone know anything about this problem?

thistlelicker · 19/11/2013 08:18

Still no bumpy for me as I remarkably fat!

LittleBairn · 19/11/2013 10:00

sharp I wouldn't worry about your taunt stomach the baby is going to stretch them a fair bit before birth. Separation of the stomach muscles aren't uncommon (never heard of guts spilling out that must have been an bad case) but it can be fixed. Just try remember anything regarding birth and pregnacy is always the worst case scenario they ignore the 99% where it doesn't happen.

So just had a call from the hospital I need to have my scan on Friday moved to the other hospital. This is the hospital were we confirmed DS had died and were all the drama took place. I went back for the post Mortum but not at maternity and even then I was a wreck.

I need to have this scan its an important anomaly check of the Sac I find scans tense experiences usually but I'm not sure about being back on that maternity unit.

bluestone85 · 19/11/2013 10:04

Aww bless you little sounds like anyone in your position wouldn't want to go back to that hospital. Thanks Cake

I have no bump yet... its still fat. Though my trousers are definitely getting tighter!

I added the scan pic from yesterday of upside down baby, if you want to take a look.

13 + 3 today going by scan yesterday :)

thistlelicker · 19/11/2013 10:11

Thanks Little Bairn xxx

Squiffie · 19/11/2013 11:15

Hugs little can't be easy Thanks X x

Jenologist · 19/11/2013 11:17

littlebairn that sounds tough. No brilliant ideas from me, just sympathy.

moomin glad you're standing up for yourself, don't let it be blamed on your hormones, sounds like you have a right to be annoyed.

Am 14 weeks today, which is exciting, starting to feel real. Had first belly pat (from SIL who can just get away with it) and first person who asked if it was planned (colleague). Gritting my teeth and smiling through it at the moment.

Off to try and put scan pic on profile. ...

rebeccax2 · 19/11/2013 11:40

14 weeks today! No real signs of belly, and feeling decidedly unpregnant but definitely more hungry than usual. (3 x breakfasts this morning, and counting!).

On set for a shoot for Christmas today. Very cute watching elves running around. Santa just in make up right now. I love my job today as I'm just sitting here on my computer and eating all the food.
