Very much regretting staying up so late now!

MrsVDB · 04/11/2013 07:17

So over last week, my boobs have started leaking if I squeeze them , I got 5 stretch marks after having no new ones so far, I think I've got a bum grape and my temporary fat finger wedding ring has turned my finger green! Pregnancy is so glam!

Sultanajo · 04/11/2013 07:31

MrsV arghhhh! The joys of the third trimester eh? I haven't ventured back round there with a mirror recently, but am in constipation hell currently so I can't imagine it's pretty!!! Wink

Two weeks left of frickin work and counting! Can't actually believe it! Have realised that will mean only 6 weeks until due once I leave work which feels quite real and scary! This cold rainy weather makes me feel wussy rather than brave and empowered! Have to venture out to the post office a bit later and even THAT seems like a massive task right now! Mind you, have only just got up, so probably still half asleep!!!

Toothfairy78 · 04/11/2013 07:34

Bah! Is it Monday morning already?

Lucky I'm taking an auditor round today otherwise I'd be sat on my own all day as boss is on hols and my other neighbour is now on mat leave.

First NCT class tonight!

Happy Monday folks!

Good luck tonight Tooth. Hope you have a lovely group!

My friend was telling me about "padsicles" for soothing your bits after giving birth. She used them and swore by them. I have googled them and found numerous links. Here is just one: Padsicles

TobyLerone · 04/11/2013 08:11

Ugh, what a horrible morning! Raining, windy and I'm sooooo tired!

I have to find an electrician today because one of the circuits in my kitchen has just completely stopped working. It couldn't possibly be the one which runs the non-essential stuff like the tumble dryer and microwave. It's the one which runs the washing machine, fridge and cooker Hmm

Have lovely days, all!

Frizz1986 · 04/11/2013 08:15

Omg there is frost outside!! Noooooooo. I am so not ready for pregnancy and frost yet!

Have fun at NCT tooth I thought i was going to find it really uncomfortable being in a group of strangers but it took a surprisingly small amount of time for everyone to relax with each other.

sultana so jealous of your mat leave. I still have 7 weeks to go and have started freaking out as my boss is off in 2 weeks along with one of the girls on my desk. My boss has said that its ok as her work can be left, but i know what will happen. I can leave a majority of her stuff but she'll still want me dealing with her emails and queries etc and sorting the petty cash and all the ad hoc extras. I am going to have to be strong and say something as am not prepared to risk the stress this close to baby time.

Sultanajo · 04/11/2013 09:24

Toby that sounds about right!!! Of course it would affect all the MAJOR items you use regularly.... Grrrr! Hope you find a good un quickly!

Frizz I agree - be strong! (Much easier said than done as I can't seem to take my own advice) but try not to let them start running you into the ground at this late stage!

Mythreeknights · 04/11/2013 10:40

Morning all! Stunning here in Scotland and our heating is finally on!! Whoopie (although I was slightly Hmm when the plumber said most of the radiators had been turned firmly off with a spanner...'d' H trying to cut costs...)

sultanajo BRILLIANT blog about the padsicles - I had such a sore fanjo after both DS1 and 2 that I cried each time I went to the loo for a week after both births. I will definitely be preparing some witch hazel and aloe padsicles ASAP. Thank you for sharing. xx

Naturegirl82 · 04/11/2013 11:02

Will look into padsicles later Smile

Started packing hospital bags last night. How many nappies are you all packing? I'm anticipating having to stay in a while as little one will most likely need to see a paediatrition and have some tests done. Mine come in packs of 37 so have just shoved one pack in for now. That will be plenty right?? I'm assuming that is fine for a few days and if we stay in longer dh can bring in extra, or is it complete overkill??

Also, those that had the GTT done at the hospital did you take the whole morning off work for the appointment?

MrsGSR · 04/11/2013 11:50

Hope you get your kitchen sorted soon Toby!

I'm also dreading frost, my mum bought snow chains for her shoes a few winters back, I might invest in some!

MrsVDB · 04/11/2013 11:56

nature I've got my gtt test on Thursday and I'm working from home for the day but have planned a 1hr call at 10 which will hopefully be in the waiting time

I'm only 29w so haven't even thought about hospital bag yet (although I have decided I'm getting one of those big bags from primark to hold it all in)

Can't remember who else had a transverse baby but it seems they do move. At my scan last week baby was head down although think he's moved again! midwife also said not to worry until 36w

Frizz1986 · 04/11/2013 12:51

nature I have done the same as you with nappies and just shoved a whole pack in. I think ours are some pampers freebies that come as 27.
I thought about just taking some but they are so compact in the pack that if I opened it and took some out it would probably end up taking more space.
Uhoh toby its always the circuits and plugs you need isn't it. Hope its an easy fix.

MrsVDB · 04/11/2013 12:53

Baby gap has 30%+10% off today :) if anyone wants the voucher pm me your email address and ill forward it on

Naturegirl82 · 04/11/2013 13:01

mrsvdb I've pm'd you but not sure if I've done it right!

Bluecarrot · 04/11/2013 13:33

Two of the December ladies have already given birth! Eek! ;)

MrsVDB · 04/11/2013 13:49

nature I've forwarded it on. It works on sale stuff too. and gap do loads of stuff with ears

blue eek were they really early or late nov/ early dec due? Still bloody scary though

BookTart · 04/11/2013 13:54

blue I saw that when I was spying on their thread yesterday - scary times! I will be keeping my legs firmly crossed until after Christmas! I wasn't going to pack my hospital bags for another month, so perhaps I'll get a move on with that just in case...

I've made a rookie maternity wear error today, and the top of my jeans barely meets the bottom of my jumper. I look like Winnie the Pooh with my tummy hanging out Blush

Is anyone else getting a bubbly feeling in their bump? There isn't any air in there is there, so I have no idea what it is but it is freaking me out slightly along with everything else that is freaking me out

Bluecarrot · 04/11/2013 14:06

One was 35 weeks and the other I couldn't see a date but was 5 days earlier than second girl... Which means she must have been 34-35 weeks... ?

Picked up cot bed yesterday ( was lent to a friend) but I think after 11 years of daily use, its done. I'd like a white one anyway and at £60 for the ikea gulliver, I've cashed in all my cashback payments and PayPal account so I can get the cot and mattress soon.

Rest of fabric for nursery just arrived so its in washing machine and will sew this afternoon... After a nap...

TobyLerone · 04/11/2013 14:13

Yy book, I'm not a fan of the 'bubbles', either.

BookTart · 04/11/2013 16:35

toby I saw a comment online somewhere that suggested the bubbles are the babies hands touching the wall of the uterus. This has squicked me out even more - she's trying to claw her way out Shock!

What fabric have you gone for blue? I'm having trouble finding curtaining fabric that I like.

TobyLerone · 04/11/2013 16:43

Ugh! I had a dream a month or so ago that the baby stuck a finger out through my belly. Just one finger.

enjoyingscience · 04/11/2013 16:44

book I spend a huge amount of time looking like winnie the pooh. I think everything's fine, but that's because I can't see under my bump, and that's where it all sticks out! Ah well.

Sultanajo · 04/11/2013 17:48

Omg! Dec threaders popping already! Ekkkk!

Had a really sharp pain at the top of my bump half an hour ago - when I pressed it to try and relieve it, it made it worse. Moving made it worse also. Touch wood it has now gone. Really odd. Of course I jumped straight on google and immediately regretted it!

Just about to head off to aqua natal with an NCT buddy. Its in the hospital pool so at least if I get more pains I will be in the right place to get checked out! Hmm

Its too frickin cold to go out - would have wimped out if I hadnt been going with someone else.....

Naturegirl82 · 04/11/2013 17:58

Just realised next week I have a scan with the consultant, whopping cough vaccination with the nurse, 31 week midwife check-up and repeat GTT! Work are going to be thrilled with all the time off I'll need!
