Yippee just ordered my pram and new car seat Smile. Managed to get the shop to price match for the green and they had the car seat and base on offer (cheaper than I had originally bought) so managed to get it for only £16 more. And I have had £75 of vouchers to use for the shop for the last 6 months so put that towards it as well, so have ended up spending far less cash than if I had stuck with the red. Very happy. Now just have to wait 4 weeks for it to be delivered!! Grin

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 01/11/2013 14:07

Afternoon, ladies!

book MASSIVE CONGRATS! That is awesome, how lovely and romantic. Ah, this thread has everything now - weddings and babies. My life is complete Grin

another sorry you're still having a rubbish old time of it, you poor love. What do you have for entertainment? Can we find amusing YouTube videos for you? Do you have a tablet?

Day off today, thank CHRIST. I was at the end of my tether yesterday. I think I'd never really calmed down from that feeling when DH was in hospital, in surgery, and I was on my own in the flat, convinced he was going to die and I was going to be left all alone .
So much better for a lie in and good breakfast.
DH has v sweetly made a scale plan of our new house, with furniture to scale, on Powerpoint, so I can have fun rearranging the furniture and seeing what else we can cram in need.

space I meant to ask - which day is the funeral next week? I want to be sending good vibes on the right day. How are you?

MrsVDB · 01/11/2013 14:34

humpty what a great idea my afternoon at work is now sorted we are turning our spare bedroom into baby room so have to fit in day bed, 4 door wardbrobe, chest of drawers, cotbed, baby wardbrobe and baby chest with changer on. The room is only 3.3m x 3.4m with windows taking up a whole wall, chimney breast and fireplace on another and 2 doors on another! Think I need to plan!

Sultanajo · 01/11/2013 14:54

MrsG I LOVE Harry Potter! What a fab way to spend a few nights! I feel inspired to start my mat leave doing something like that now! Woop woop!

Frizz well done with the kitchen and the curry! Was soooo glad the whopper at the spa didn't smell - that would have been AWFUL! I was walking behind my mate in a super market once and let one rip in an empty aisle, just as she decided to turn around and head back up the aisle because she had forgotten something! She has NEVER let me live that one down!!! Grin

Bless ya Humpty. I don't think sometimes you realise how worried and stressed you have actually been and suddenly it all gets too much! Great you have a day off and also have a powerpoint to play with!

Have made my list of the things we still need to get baby wise. Plus I have added the words "hospital bag stuff" but haven't actually decided what is needed yet. Am 32 weeks today so things are starting to feel really quite real all of a sudden! Ekkkk!

Spacefrog35 · 01/11/2013 15:50

Hope things are going ok another thinking of you Thanks

Bless you humpty it's on Thursday. We just met the guy who is going to do the service for us. He's lovely which is a massive relief. He's a padre which makes me feel really comfortable as he's practical. I was absurdly worried we were going to end up with someone earnest & wet which wouldn't really have suited me. An army vicar is much more my Brew. He's also absolutely ok with not wearing his dog collar so MIL won't have a clue he's a 'proper' vicar Grin

Hope everyone else is doing ok & is making sure none of those left over sweeties from last night don't go to waste Wink

Spacefrog35 · 01/11/2013 15:53

Oh dear. Why does this place not have an edit button Blush.

Apologies for a non bold humpty & an excessive amount of double negatives. Hopefully you can figure out what I meant Blush

MrsGSR · 01/11/2013 16:00

Will be thinking of you Thursday space. I hope it all goes well.
I've made a good start on the Halloween sweets :) DH has just taken them off me or I 'wont eat my tea'. I think he's practicing for being a dad!

Spacefrog35 · 01/11/2013 16:21

Lol @ MrmrsG that's too funny, bless him Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 01/11/2013 16:47

space I don't mind being non-bold - I think in real life I am more than bold bolshy enough to make up for it!

Thursday - will be thinking of you then. Glad the padre is practical and not floppy-hand-shake type (I'm thinking of the Eddie Izzard sketch about the CofE?), so much easier to deal with. Do you have music? Have you chosen what you'll have? I don't want to pry, but am genuinely interested, if it's not intrusive.

MrsG do you have to eat all your main course to be allowed pudding as well? Grin

Powerpoint thingy is AMAZING. Do it, ladies. You just have to do the maths of how the measurements scale down (ours were divide by 10, multiply by 4, for example), then you use the 'Size and Position' menu when right-clicking on a shape you've drawn, to make sure the furniture is to scale too. We've decided to make a different bedroom the main one on the basis of what can actually fit in on this plan!

sultana I think that's exactly what it was. Yesterday I felt I couldn't get through the day. Today I feel so much lighter, helped by a snotty cry all over DH last night and him reassuring me that he's still around.

Spacefrog35 · 01/11/2013 17:17

Not prying at all. It's really nice to be able to talk to people about it. I sort of feel like I shouldn't be 'burdening' people with constantly talking about it, which is sort of difficult as I don't really have anything else to talk about at the moment!

We're going to have 3 pieces of music. Haven't decided on the 'entrance' piece yet. The piece in the middle is going to be Hendrix's Little Wing. When Idris had all his tubes and stuff in they had to put little splints on his arms that he used to flap about. He looked like he was off to compete in a Birdman event so DH used to sing little wing to him. The 'leaving' piece will be Hootie & the Blowfish - Hold My Hand. Idris loved holding hands with us & it's one of my favourite songs. Also it's quite uplifting & I want people to leave feeling happy if that's at all possible.

We've also bought loads of those little bubble wands you get as wedding favours. He liked blowing spit bubbles (gross I know) & it used to make us giggle so we want everyone to blow bubbles for him. Hopefully it will make people smile. You can't be sad & blow bubbles!

Weirdly I'm kind of looking forward to it. Also it will be nice to have him settled & be able to go and visit him. I've really struggled with not being able to go & 'see' him. I think once I've got a place to go then that bit will become easier.

Sorry seem to have written a small essay Blush

Mac2014 · 01/11/2013 18:06

Toothfairy78 · 01/11/2013 18:14

Hi all,

Well I was gonna gripe about how shit a time I've had at work and how miserable and tired I felt this evening but then I saw sultana's fart story and I'm happy again!

book are you gonna tell us all about your wedding then!

I'm off to read all your posts properly now...see you in a bit!

MrsGSR · 01/11/2013 18:14

Aww, space that does sound perfect. I love the idea of blowing bubbles. I have a pack of bubbles left over from looking after our nephew, I'll blow some on Thursday and think of Idris, if you don't think it's intrusive. Feel free to talk about it as much as you like x

I didn't manage to finish my tea, but DH still gave me a mini milky way :) He's hidden the others though :(

Percypiglet · 01/11/2013 18:30

Sultana you made me laugh so much with the fart confession. My bump was jiggling around so much from laughing, think baby wondered what was happening.

Space glad you are feeling positive about the funeral and have it all planned out. Completely get your need to have somewhere to go to "see" Idris. Will be thinking of you on Thursday.

Thank goodness it is Friday, I am flipping knackered..........Got Monday off so long weekend to look forward to. Am pram, cotbed and bedding ordering tomorrow for baby and chest of drawer ordering for us, bit of a spend up but am making the most of the various sales on at the mo!

Enjoy the wkend all.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 01/11/2013 18:37

space that sounds absolutely perfect to me. Love the music choices and the bubbles are fab! Totally appropriate way to remember Idris. I think wanting people to leave uplifted is a great idea, and something my Mum has said she wants from her funeral, so I totally get where you're coming from.

Also, having somewhere to visit - that makes perfect sense to me. It's a bit up in the air now, isn't it? I guess you must want to talk to him, and think of him, but without a particular place to do it, it's a bit hard. In the same way as when you were pregnant with him, you probably directed any chat/strokes to your bump. I get it.

As Mac said, do talk about it - I think we all get it. And I know I like thinking I might be able to help a tiny weeny bit by listening/reading. Plus, you're one of us, and we all talk about whatever we want to, them's the rules, no? Grin Is there anything else we can do to help? Hire you an anti-MIL bodyguard, p'raps? Grin

Toothfairy78 · 01/11/2013 19:22

another sorry to hear you're hanging around in hospital. You're in the best place and FX they fix you and LO up soon.

space really glad to hear funeral is planned. Sounds like it'll be beautiful and totally apt.

And awwww to mrfrizz for painting the nursery. You both had a tough time and that's such a lovely thing to do.

Right, if sultana's farts haven't been enough to cheer you up or you'd like to test your pelvic floor then this is for you:

Sultanajo · 01/11/2013 19:26

space your plans have just made me bawl because it sounds so unbelievably perfect! It will be an amazing day and having somewhere to visit afterwards will be really helpful. Will be very much thinking of you on Thursday! Grin

BookTart · 01/11/2013 19:29

space that sounds absolutely lovely and totally appropriate.

How's it going another? Hope you aren't too bored.

Honestly not much to tell about wedding tooth - it took 20 minutes, we only had 4 guests (3 parents and 1 brother), I wore black, he wore jeans and army boots, there was no music or anything, then we all went to the pub for lunch. It was excellent!

My bump has been really uncomfortable today. It keeps going hard for an hour or so at a time (so not BH I don't think). I think it is because her back is to the front of the bump so it feels harder, but I don't know. Anyone else get this?

GummiBear74 · 01/11/2013 20:18

Thanks for the autocorrects, tooth! The one about chicken vaginas made me laugh so much I cried, and then blood started pouring out of my nose Shock

Is anyone else getting loads of nosebleeds?

space, I've found your story so moving, your strength and dignity are amazing. The funeral plans sound perfect.

MrsGSR · 01/11/2013 21:14

tooth I'm getting weird looks from DH for sniggering at that link!

gummi I haven't had any actual nose bleeds, but (TMI) I have noticed blood on the tissue after blowing my nose a few times, which hasn't happened before.

DH has bought us tickets to a fireworks display tomorrow night, I'm really excited and hoping the weather improves!

enjoyingscience · 01/11/2013 21:31

space you really are amazing. What a perfect send off for your lovely boy. I'll blow bubbles for you on Thursday too xx

Frizz1986 · 01/11/2013 21:54

space the funeral sounds just right. It will be a lovely way to remember Idris and i think the bubbles sound like a wonderful idea
Never feel like you cant share anything you want to, its exactly what this group is for, we are all here for each other, no matter what.
Ill be thinking of you on thursday.

book i have had the hard feeling a lot in my bump. I think it is bubs leaning to the front and its v uncomfortable. My bump has felt really heavy today, i think the 3rd tri is really hitting me.

So dh finished touching up the nursery today and i came home to find it all finished, cleaned and hoovered and the cot built. I cried again!

Have just booked me and dh an xmas treat......the hobbit at manchester imax! Cant wait and we can go round the xmas market afterwards and stuff our face with treats. I will be 36 weeks so itll be hard going and its the day after my work xmas meal (but i wont stay late) so ill be tired but then itll be my last week at work so hopefully i wont be doing real work! Have booked aisle seats so i can escape to pee lots.

sarahleanne · 01/11/2013 22:52
