PMSL skittletits I'm actually lolling!!

Toothfairy78 · 02/11/2013 09:14

Eep, gummi nosebleeds?

A few weeks back I had the odd bit of blood if I blew my nose. But only tiny spots.

wa wa skittletits! LOL!

Right, i think a spot of breakfast is in order. Then, off shopping for a keepsake book for friend who is retiring this month, costco shop for cake ingredients ( it's my birthday this week and colleagues need cake) and maybe a few bits for my hospital bag. I've already got the disposable bits all prepacked through some bounty offer, soooooo convenient!

Have a good day kittens!

Thanks frizz, sorry you're having a hard time too, but it is less of a worry when someone else has the same thing :)

gummi, I haven't had proper nosebleeds but Ive had the same as tooth every bloody day since about 8 weeks. It is rank.

Porridge scoffed, I'm off for a day out by the sea somewhere before it starts raining again. Hope you all have lovely Saturdays!

flyawayblue · 02/11/2013 09:57

another Hope the MRI went well and you have done answers.

space I am welling up at your plans, it sounds beautiful and a lovely way to remember Idris. Will be thinking of you all on Thursday.

I get the hard bump to and it does seem to be when she has her back to the front of my tommy if that makes sense. Also get the outs inside kicks when she's like that. At the moment she's sideways and keeps kicking me down by my lest hip - very odd.

I think the nose bleeds are due to the increased blood volume and I've had a few little ones. Midwives didn't seem concerned but mine weren't bad.

Still so tired all the time, going to try and find the energy to exercise as I hope it will make things better.

Frizz1986 · 02/11/2013 10:40

So i have purchased my nightie for the hospital bag and am about to get some more bits in an attempt to complete it.
How do u all know how ur babies are lying? I can't tell at all and only know it's moved when my belly goes hard in one area but I never know how it's moved. I've even prodded the bump and can't feel anything in there!

Sultanajo · 02/11/2013 10:54

Morning ladies! frizz I only know how bubs is lying because I had a scan a couple of weeks back and the mw had a feel this week (which really hurt btw!)

Well got up early today, washed my hair, tidied the house, made a healthy breakfast and now feel as though I could go back to bed! Blush Just waiting for a package with my first bits of xmas shopping to arrive, then off food shopping - joy! Wink

GummiBear74 · 02/11/2013 10:59

frizz, I've been wondering the same! I only know that mine's head down because I had a scan last week. I think she may have a great career as a contortionist ahead of her, though, judging from where I can feel movement!

Mostly I've just been getting the blood in the tissue thing too, but laughing too hard, crying, or throwing up (how to make morning sickness even more fun) can set off a proper nose bleed. I think it's normal, so I haven't been worried.

MrsGSR · 02/11/2013 12:21

I also have no idea which way baby is. The top of my bump is usually bigger than the bottom but the bottom is bigger now. No idea what that means!

Bless MrFrizz! That's so sweet!

AnotherStitchInTime · 02/11/2013 14:07

Hey all, still no MRI, bored. GTT clear though so no diabetes :)

Space the funeral plans sound lovely and very fitting. Thinking of you all x

I find the harder bigger lump is generally the head, the more wriggly smaller lump is the bottom/hip. You can also tell a little by where the baby kicks. If the kicking is in the middle to upper part it generally means head down. If kicking is towards your cervix, breech position likely

MrsGSR · 02/11/2013 14:13

another great the the GTT is clear, I hope you don't have to long to wait for the MRI.

I think baby is punching me as well as kicking, but the stronger ones are at the top so hopefully that means she's head down. I could see my whole stomach moving yesterday, DH thought it was really weird!

I hope everyone's having a good weekend so far :)

BookTart · 02/11/2013 15:08

frizz I have NO idea, and neither does my midwife. My last scan said she was breech, but both midwives swear her head has been down for weeks! I don't really get any kicks (I assume she's kicking inwards), just occasional squiggly movements and sudden urges to wee, which I guess means something is pressing on my bladder!

Had a lovely day today by the sea in Rye and Dymchurch. Only when I pulled into my road did I realise that we should have been at ante-natal class all day. Shitshitshitshit. The midwife is going to kill me isn't she? I'm booked onto NCT as well, but that isn't until 35/36 weeks so let's hope she doesn't arrive early!

Good news on the GTT another, have some Cake while you wait for the MRI!

Toothfairy78 · 02/11/2013 17:20

Hello!

Good news the GTT is clear another! Hopefully they'll scan you soon. Sounds rubbish being stuck all day waiting and worrying. Xxx

I think ToothJr has been head down the entire time. The doctor showed me how she felt for the head this week. She said it was hard to tell on some women if they have a fair bit of muscle which means you need to press firmly so maybe frizz and book you still have good tummy muscles!

Today was a success, got 2 nighties a couple sizes too big, buy one get one half price at M&S. Did look at Mamas & Papas but nothing short sleeved and wasn't going to pay £28 for a nightie that'd be worn only a few times.

Also got other bits I was looking for but the big success was finding Reading now has a Five Guys in the Oracle! Perfect opportunity to placate/bribe DH for dragging him out. We had cheeseburgers and shared a regular fries. DH was very very happy! We decided if was the best thing since Mission Burrito and DH LOVES Mission Burrito!

Oops book! Did u get that cold sweat feeling?

another boo hiss for no mri, but great u got the all clear on the GTT! Grin

Sultanajo · 02/11/2013 17:45

Mmmmm! Robinsons Apple Squash with ice! Lush! Grin Grin Grin

Tried to get DH to look at nappies today but he thinks its too early. However, did get some Fairy non-bio so I can wash all the baby clothes we now have. Almost also invested in Comfort Pure softener, but then got paranoid about giving bubs a rash if his skin is super sensitive so decided against it....

Frizz1986 · 02/11/2013 18:26

tooth I got nighties today too. I got some mega cheapos from primark so I have them ready to get gooped on in hospital! Also got some non underwired bras from m&s and a million maternity pads from mothercare.
My hospital bags are now half packed and the rest of the stuff is in the wash. Just need to pack going home clothes (I'll go in pjs if i have to), toiletries and nursing bras (which u aren't supposed to get yet) I even have £ coins ready for the car park.
It's so silly that in 1 day my hospital bag is practically done! Feeling much better now about it.

Have even washed the cover for the chair my sister loaned us for the nursery and the cover on the bouncer seat thing. Nursery is looking nice and tomorrow I just need to clean up the pram, car seat and baby bath.

Sultanajo · 02/11/2013 18:41

frizz I am itching to get on with bits like you have. I may make a start next weekend and primark cheap nighties and large pants are top of the list! Grin

Angelesque · 02/11/2013 19:39

FINALLY getting on with sorting stuff. Crib bought today, ordering travel system tomorrow. Bootees, hats and scratch mittens purchased - also now have a complete outfit for baby (including fleecy suit with #ears) - feeling much better. Still faaaar behind you lot but slowly catching up!

Hospital bag is the next thing on the list!!!

Naturegirl82 · 02/11/2013 19:48

I've almost finished my maternity bag as well. Just need to find an old nighty to give birth in. Bought myself new pjs with easy boob access and baggy bottoms today. Got changing bag and all my toiletries as well I think. So good day. But the bugger parked next to me had scratched my brand new car when I got back to it (someone else had left a note on my car to tell me!) so I've left a note on their car asking them to call otherwise I'll go through insurance. Got photos of damage to mine and their car and evidence they were parked next to me so bit of a downer.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 02/11/2013 21:58

another yay for the no GD, boo for the no MRI.

book ooooooops. Oh well - they must have had baby brainers before, right? Grin

Anyone still need a cot? We just bought this one - £61.50, gets great Which reviews, full price £130 odd. Also £10 off with a Vouchercodes code (£10 off £50 first spend), and 4.5% cashback through Quidco - works out to under £50!!

I'm so chuffed - my DM found the deal for us, so wanted to pass it on.

I also ordered our new kettle, toaster and microwave today, using JL vouchers from our wedding.

Might treat myself to a nice overnight bag for hospital bag in celebration, methinks.

Frizz1986 · 02/11/2013 23:08

humpty i have also been purchasing today. After getting my mat pads etc i have just gone and bought a changing mat, muslin cloths, a baby sleeping bag, a baby blanket, car sun visors, baby bath thermometer and some fitted sheets for the moses basket all for £45 off ebay.

I have also pigged out on so much Chinese that i feel so unbelievably uncomfortable!! Big mistake!

GummiBear74 · 03/11/2013 08:07

Now we all seem to be shopping like mad, in case you're interested, Mothercare have a breast feeding kit thing including electric breast pump and storage containers, reduced from £150 to £100. Considering that they also have 15% off if you spend £100 online, this seems to be a bit of a bargain. I think the pump sells for about £100 on its own!
I figured that I'll be able to make some money back on ebay if I can't use it for some reason, and I've already taken the nipple cream and breast pads out for my hospital bag. Smile

Bluecarrot · 03/11/2013 08:30

Who was it that couldn't use lanolin? Have a look into virgin coconut oil as an alternative for nipple cream. I've seen it mentioned a few times now.

I'm pretty much packed except for my last minute things. But I'd better not go into labour anytime soon as DP has helpfully buried my bag under other stuff as we cleared our bedroom. ( currently sleeping in the living room while our room is redone... Not just talking a bit if wallpaper here. The ceilings and walls are being pulled down, insulation added and it all plastered. Actually wondering if it'll be done before baby comes!) I'm not allowed in it as possible lead in the old paint, not to mention goodness knows what in the roof space.

So I spent this week buying stuff for the nursery. Looking forward to getting started with the sewing for it next week. Everything will be from scratch as DP chose colours that people just don't mass-produce nursery bedding in!

This week though ill be buying in for our bedroom and getting my dd psyched up for the transfer test ( 1st of 3 happens next Saturday here in NI- not sure what happens in rest of uk) She is expected to pass and get into the excellent grammar school down the road, just worried she will get too anxious on the day and flop! Though I may be more anxious than her...

Percypiglet · 03/11/2013 09:45

Hello fellow shoppers! We have also been spending. Finally, after much deliberation, ordered our pram, cotbed and changing unit yesterday - taking advantage of the various sales.... Also went to our friend's house last night for dinner and they loaned us their moses basket and stand. The house is looking suspiciously like a baby might arrive in the next few months now!

Enjoy your Sundays one and all.

GummiBear74 · 03/11/2013 10:29

So our nursery furniture arrived about 10 days ago. Since then, I've been frantically painting myself and everything around me the nursery, in the hope that one day we'll actually be able to get it all out of the boxes and assemble it. Like blue, we've had some major DIY projects going on and had to completely strip, replaster and decorate two other rooms before we could even think about starting on the nursery!

Can I please ask a question to you experienced mums out there? So far, I've been really good and bought just a couple of vests and sleep suits in each of the smallest sizes. But now I've seen some sleep suits that I don't need, but really want. What's the smallest size that I can safely buy excess clothes in? I've got some in 3-6 months and they look HUGE, so could I be sure that baby will get at least a few weeks use out of 0-3 month ones?

Naturegirl82 · 03/11/2013 10:52

Well I'm in an odd state this morning. Had friends up this weekend so house is spic and span and they just left so not too sure what to do with my day! Not had this problem for a while! Need to do some work on a paper but other than that the day is mine to do as I please Grin
