Mrsoverreaction · 28/10/2013 12:18

Thanks all! It's lovely that other people are due so close to me Smile We don't know what we're having- love the surprise. I must admit I haven't read ALL the many threads that started many moons ago but have read this one to get a heads up on what people are experiencing. Remember going into the mau to have a trace put on the heartbeat with DD and worrying that I was being a nuisance but leaving feeling v re-assured by the lovely, calm mws so I understand what people are going through. Having loads of movement with this one so if it slowed down / stopped I'd be straight in there getting checked out!

Mrsoverreaction · 28/10/2013 12:22

The only things I am struggling with at the mo are feeling pretty pathetic (when DD wants carrying, getting DH to do nearly everything) and bad reflux. One thing I would be interested to hear about though is people who already have a toddler and how they are coping. We are experiencing quite a stroppy, grumpy phase with plenty of tantrums and am getting mildly terrfified that she may still be going through it when no2 arrives (or that she'll regress as I've heard happens, unsurprisingly).

Mrsoverreaction · 28/10/2013 12:24

Whisper- you poor thing! 2mile walk there and back! I would really struggle with that. No buses obs? Are you able to go and have a rest now? I've had a very lazy morning so far and am torn between feeling lazy and feeling entitled Wink No such thing as a 32wk appt for me though- is this because it's your first?

Mrsoverreaction · 28/10/2013 12:25

How do I "tag" people???

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 12:29

whisper I would say have a bath but with what happened last time maybe avoid that lol
Paracetamol?

When I went to the hospital the other night they were so busy but so reassuring and didn't mind one bit. Even dp was surprised at how nice they were. Think that put him at ease abit too (he hates hospitals)

Dtd last night after about 4 months (sorry tmi) must have been the storm as dp had banned me lol it was so nice to feel close to him again though if that makes sense? Though after I did have a horrible thought that labour would start lol nothing yet though which is good!

MrsShrubs · 28/10/2013 12:29

Welcome mrsoverreaction Flowers

So so excited, I've just spoken to work and after southeastern rail being awful last week and again today the commute is just getting to me so I've asked if I can bring everything forward by a week and leave on 15th November (annual leave for over a week and then my maternity leave will kick in) and they said yes! So excited to only have a couple of weeks left now Smile

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 12:30

To make it bold do name but no spaces xx

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 12:32

Yay mrsshrubs that not long at all can't believe it's the end of October already!!

Mrsoverreaction · 28/10/2013 12:41

That's impressive Stom! Last time we dtd I felt crap and nauseous for the whole next day so can't see it happening again Wink Very good news Shrub, get resting! I stop on 15th Nov but already dropped a shift so winding down gradually thankfully.

Chelsealady · 28/10/2013 12:41

I just keep telling myself its only 1 full month left...(if my little lady doesn't decide she wants to be a 2014 baby)! Cant believe it its gone so fast!!

WhisperMen · 28/10/2013 12:55

nope no busses sadly overreaction I have to walk everywhere anyway as we are too skint to afford busses. I didn't know 32 week appointments weren't a standard though. I guess it's just the way it's run in my city.

MildredH · 28/10/2013 12:57

Welcome overreaction..

Whisper- how about some paracetamol, hot chocolate and snuggle down with a wheat bag/ hot water bottle to see if you can nap..

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 13:01

Mines a 33 week one whisper. I think they're less frequent if you've already had a baby x

Haha yea it was nice overreaction lol I feel ok today just tired and rather lazy. Only just had a shower lol.

Dp was moanin about all the lie in I've been having. I told him I'm making the most of them before dd gets here! He then agreed and told me to enjoy them haha

MildredH · 28/10/2013 13:02

I think 32 weeks might be first timers only.. I was seen around then- next one next week supposed to be 36 weeks.

Slightly anxious about them feeling for position at 36wk- midwife def not convinced gizmo was head down last time and a midwife friend had a feel yesterday and said was unstable lie- first off oblique then transverse Blush. I know I would refuse an ECV so it mean a section.

I must actually start getting on with things- err pack bag (!!), nursery.. Got 4.5 weeks til EDD..

13loki · 28/10/2013 13:04

hi Mrsoverraction getting prepared is over rated. I'm due Decmber 1st and haven't even started the hospital bag yet. Well, I think I found a few outfits for the baby last night while sorting out the clothes we shoved in no order into vacuum bags when we moved.

Dried apricots are definately the way forward, I will take them as a snack to hospital, too

mumoftwoboysS · 28/10/2013 13:12

Hello Mrsoverreaction I have the same due date as you! But I'm on my third Smile I must be mad
I also haven't got my hospital bag ready or anything!

How old is your toddler? Ds2 is 2 1/2 and just potty trained so I'm a bit worried about regression and jealousy issues but at least he has his brother to play with. We had major jealousy issues with ds1 when #2 came along but every child is different so you may be lucky!

Talking about dtd, every time we try I find it a bit painful and the next day worse (due to the varicose veins I have in undesirable places!) I feel sorry for DH tho, they just don't get how sometimes it's hard to get in the mood when you have indigestion, aches and pains and baby doing the cancan in your uterus. Passion killer? Just a tad!!

DH keeps saying to me I don't need him for sex anymore now I've got the babies I wanted- lol!

Alyssa1978 · 28/10/2013 13:54

dtd we never really stopped Blush but I still can't resist him lol don't tell him that though, I guess it is hard to find the right ahem position but don't worry stom it hasn't started my labour yet lol.

Welcome mrsoverreaction this is my third ds1 is 3 in November and ds2 turned one in July but ds1 was fine with ds2 not really too jealous but he's had the terrible twos this time around but I think he would've had that regardless. He is really clingy lately but he's always been mummy's boy Grin
I think ds2 is going to be very jealous when this baby arrives.

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 13:54

I'm considering myself very lucky no varicose veins! My stretch marks have started to appear. Sex has always hurt for me so kinda used to it. Just felt abit sore after and today my lower tummy hurts bit I think that's cos I used muscles I hadn't used for a while!! Haha
But i didn't care about the sex so much it was just nice to be close to dp again. I was surprised he asked lol usually it's a no no and it's too weird for him.

He had a really lovely day doing nothing just watching films and he was really chatting with bump and playing with bump etc it was so nice to see usually he's not bothered.
I think the scared the other night made it abit more real for him. X

meandbumpy · 28/10/2013 14:10

TMI - Oh Alyssa I have the opposite problem! The doctor gave me 3 weeks worth of laxatives that had only just started to take affect when they ran out last week and now I feel like I'm back to square one. It's so frustrating, when I eat it takes ages to persuade the food to stay in my stomach then when it's finally convinced it won't bloody well come out again at the other end!! Woke myself up retching lastnight as I'd gone to bed without leaving long enough for my food to settle, my system has well and truly lost the plot, lol Confused

Welcome Mrsoverreaction Haven't got nearly enough ready either and we're also moving house when I'm 36 weeks so don't worry we're all in the same boat! [snile]

Hope you manage a nap whisper

We've been managing to dtd a reasonable amount but it's definitely not passion central. I get mega BH afterwards though and it's starting to make me paranoid. This is definitely TMI but.....dp is a boobs kind of guy and the other day whilst he was enjoying himself in that area I mentioned that sooner or later he could be doing that and some milk could come out! He looked so horrified I thought I'd put him off for life!! Grin Sorry for being gross!

Stom91 · 28/10/2013 14:15

Sorry meandbumpy but that's last bit made me
Laugh lol. My dp keeps asking when my milk wil start coming out. He says he wants to try some! Hmm weirdo!

I'm also moving when I'm 38 weeks! It's cutting it too fine for my liking but that's the earliest date they would
Give us!

I'm due 21st but dp has the 14 in his head and I can't get the 9th dec out of mine so we shall see The 9th is 2 days after the move!! It's just a feeling I've got!

meandbumpy · 28/10/2013 14:21

Haha, I don't see what's wrong with trying it, got to be more natural than drinking a cow's milk? Thought it was only considerate of me to warn him that it could happen though, lol

LadyMedea · 28/10/2013 14:57

We attempted dtd on Sunday night, first time in ages as unlike all the books say I've had no sex drive and very weirdly my clitoris no longer seemed to feel connected to anything Confused. Well it seems to have reconnected now but couldn't master the right positions so gave up and did other stuff instead. I really miss missionary position as I like to be cuddled.

Really enjoyed my pregnancy massage so booked another for ten days time. I highly recommend them!

Bump is definitely head down but keeps swinging round to back to back - naughty! So I'm spending a lot if time sitting upright or meaning over an exercise ball so I doesn't get the idea that it can stay there!

ahh all this talk of dtd... we haven't done it in a few months. he's scared of 'poking' the baby's head. especially now that she's head down. it's nonsense, he knows it, but hey that's life.

hi overreaction. i'm due the day before you and i have nothing ready. found a few clothes, but i dont even really know what i need to be honest. I think i'll play it by ear. it's nice here that you don't really need to pack an elaborate hospital bag because they give you everything you need (you pay through the nose though so I guess it's fair - even with insurance, this delivery will cost us something like $4000).

lisbapalea · 28/10/2013 15:07

Welcome mrsoverreaction! I am also due dc#2 (don't know the gender) on 22nd Dec! Although I am aiming for an elcs so if the dr's "allow" that, then my due date is more likely to be around 16th Dec.

My DD is 3.5 and is generally pretty good and excited by the new arrival but I am sure she will regress a bit when the time comes.

I had to pick her up early from preschool today as she was sick - in fact she projectile vomited over one of her friends (poor friend!!). So I am spending the next couple of days trying to avoid her lurgy germs, and also enjoying lots of cbeebies!

Very impressed by the talk of dtd - have to say we've been rubbish and not really done it since the bfp; I am totally not interested and was the same when pg with DD. Poor dh, but he's being very understanding!

Alyssa1978 · 28/10/2013 15:28

Lol stom dp had a squeeze the other day and decided himself he would try it lol said it tasted sweet Hmm

meand I get the bh too, gotten used to them now lol.

Lol rose tell him if he wants to park his car in the garage then it's fine as the baby is safely tucked up in the house Smile
