Glad you're doing okay chelsea and taking

Can't believe how many people are in the very beginnings of baby arriving!! Be so interesting to see how many of us actually end up with December babies at this rate.

Big hugs to anyone not feeling great.

Got my last week at work starting tomorrow, can't wait to have some time off to finish getting things ready

mumoftwoboysS · 10/11/2013 12:55

Yeah alyssa big prodding down there but maybe it's his/her head! Also get smaller tickles which I'm sure are little hands!

I had bad heartburn with both my DC's and both had lots of hair! This one, not so much so I'll be interested to see if there's less hair!

DH has finished the ceiling so I can start the walls soon! Anyone recommend a nice off white for walls? Not cream but a warmer white than pure white- and preferAbly a cheap own brand Smile I'm doing one wall turquoise to add a splash of colour.

nom if you read this, what did you recommend for flat nipples and bf? So far back on the old thread I'll never find it! Was it breast shells? Need to start getting stuff for my hosp bag this week!!

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 14:17

Omg what a day....extremely hormonal to to it off.
Both kids going on rediculous all day I'm actually craving a cigarette for the first time in around a year.
Even baking a double batch of ginger snaps didnt stop them from twisting.

Cleaning the kitchen my nesting seems to have kicked back in but I can't Hoover as dp didn't charge up the dyson after hoovering his car Angry

froubylou · 10/11/2013 14:24

I think I have a head down in my pelvis too. And had a elbow or something in my ribs earlier which was very uncomfortable.

Been looking for a changing bag today. Have come to the conclusion that they are a rip off and going to use a bag I already have!

it's huge like a flight bag with 3 main compartments and then plenty of pockets and stuff. Made of really soft, tan leather and I love it but stopped using it when I started working from home.

It's heavy but I won't notice on front of pram.

If I get the free boots change bag I can nick the mat out of there.

Can always get one later on if I need to I suppose. Just need to empty it out and give it a bit of a wipe down and it will be good to go. Will be good as it can double as a handbag too.

Feel a bit rubbish today. Fed up and irratated. Grrrrr.

Stom91 · 10/11/2013 14:26

mum what's about ivory. Mum and dad have it in their lounge. They got it from the range. (It was called ivory anyway)

Stom91 · 10/11/2013 14:30

frouby I got this one. I've used the big one as my hospital bag and the little one for baby. I've managed to get everything I need in them too :)

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 14:31

frouby "Just need to empty it out and give it a bit of a wipe down and it will be good to go" I read this as need to empty it out and give it a bottle of wine. I wondered why a bag needed a drink. Grin

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 15:31

Great bargain there stom I was going to buy it but I got the last one from mothercare and I think dp would go ape if I bought another one when I'm the same as frouby I think it just needs a wash down and it'll be ok.
Must not buy it, must not buy it lol Smile

itsliz · 10/11/2013 15:47

Little one has FINALLY got the hiccups! Or at least I think that's what I felt earlier - it was rhythmic, almost like a slow heartbeat, and lasted for about 10-15 mins? Either way, very cute Smile

Chelsea I hope you're ok? You're doing so, so well considering how much you've got to contend with at the moment, so stay strong and as everyone else has said, just remember that no matter how frustrating it is, you're in the best place for now.

Taking Once again, a huge congratulations! So glad to hear you're all home safe and sound now and enjoying lots of newborn snuggles Smile You'll have to keep us all updated with how you're getting on.

I've been the same with caffeine as you Whisper - Couldn't start my day without a coffee before I got pregnant but in the first trimester I just went off of tea and coffee completely! I got awful headaches then and still have no idea whether they were pregnancy-related or just alcohol/ caffeine withdrawal symptoms Grin
I can manage the odd cup now and again but at the moment I'd rather cut it out completely rather than have to worry about limiting my intake.

Having said that, DP and I did take a slow stroll down to Starbucks this morning as the weather was nice and bump seemed to enjoy my orange mocha and shortbread almost as much as I did Grin
That's the most productive thing we've managed to do all weekend actually, so after reading about you lot painting and moving bricks and all sorts, I feel like I need to get a move on...!

WhisperMen · 10/11/2013 16:11

that sounds like hiccupd liz how cute. mine gets them all the time, poor thing.

MrsEllsmore · 10/11/2013 16:51

So I'm normally a bit of a lurker on this thread (I read it but never post anything myself!) but today I just don't really know what to do with myself. I've only got 1 more week left at work and have a busy weekend next weekend so I just probably just enjoy sitting doing nothing but I don't want to get into the habit of just sitting in front of the tv as it will drive me mad to do that for 4 weeks of mat leave before dc makes their appearance. I've baked some cakes to take to work but that's the only productive thing I've done all day. hmmmm...

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 17:11

Welcome mrsellsmore

I really wish now I'd stayed at work longer, I swear it was less stressful than running after a 1yr old and a 2yr old who I am sure have deliberately been the worse behaved ever today.
They had an hour sleep earlier but have caused mayhem since waking up, how I've managed to clean downstairs is beyond me although they let out high pitched screams the entire time the Hoover was on Hmm
All I've done today is complain Blush
Off to put the little darlings in the bath now.

froubylou · 10/11/2013 17:16

Hello mrsellmore. I go from being wonder woman to wondering if I will ever get off the sofa!

Stom I keep looking at that one lol. If I was going to buy one and I still might it would either be that one or a giraffe one I saw that was similar. Just had the other one out and it really is lovely. But heavier than what I remembered so not sure again.

Have seen some nice pram blankets and stuff on amazon too and need some nappies and wipes and lanisoh and muslins so might do a big order next
Week and sneak it in.

If I decide to use my other bag my dsis is pg so could give her the new one.

Whispers I could really do with a nice glass of wine lol. I must admit I have been having the odd can of lager over the last couple of weeks. They have been lovely and baby seb seems to like them too lol.

mumoftwoboysS · 10/11/2013 17:27

Ooh wine. I'm not a big boozer (no, really!) but god do I miss my wine. I'm more of 1-2 glasses of wine 3-4 times a week person and I sooo miss it. Also like a beer now and then. Had a sip of DH's last night and it tasted good! Have had the odd half glass of wine but somehow the enjoyment is taken out a bit- perhaps it's not being able to fill the glass up or have another Grin and then there's breast feeding once baby is here....not sure how much I can have then! God I sound so selfish and shallow-lol!

MrsEllsmore · 10/11/2013 17:33

oops just went to get a glass of squash and the kitchen looked like an explosion in an icing sugar factory... clearly I decorated the cakes then shut the kitchen door and forgot about the mess. DP has been lovely today and made sure he cooked dinner before he went to watch the football so I can just reheat it if I get hungry before he gets back... not likely as of course I have been sampling my cakes Smile but it means I would feel guilty about leaving it to him... time to leave the sofa! frouby I got the free changing bag from boots and its tiny, will be ok if you are only going out for an hour or so but not an all day trip anywhere.

Stom91 · 10/11/2013 17:36

Welcome mrsellmore
frouby it was a bargain they have other colours. Mine is brown. It's really good for the price. And once dd is here I can choose between the big bag and the small one. :)

mum I think wine is fine when bf. I saw that as long as you are bf while you are drunk or paraletic it's fine lol. But I'd double check on the nhs website or something.

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 18:01

mum occasional drinking is fine, they say 1-2 units once or twice a week
While breast feeding as small amounts pass into the milk making it smell different apparently which can affect babies feeding etc.

It takes around 2 hours for a unit of alcohol to clear our blood stream. So while I think one bottle of blue wkd or a glass of wine will be fine but anymore and I would express enough to last until its cleared your system.
You're not shallow Hun, I can't wait until I can have a drink again.

stom I so so so want that bag lol. Mine is just a dark charcoal colour and I want need a new one Hmm

Stom91 · 10/11/2013 18:23

alyssa treat yourself :) lol. They do red and blue I think too

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 18:35

Aww I've just had a look and I LOVE the blue one stom I may have to blame you to dp if whenI cave lol

Stom91 · 10/11/2013 19:21

Hahaha! That's fine it'll be worth it lol z

LadyMedea · 10/11/2013 19:32

Advice from the breastfeeding counsellor was to drink your glass of wine whilst breastfeeding... Then by the time they are hungry again it will have cleared your system. We all liked that idea at the class.

I looked at the research about caffeine and it's really inconclusive. You have to really be going some (multiple times the recommended limit) to make an impact. That said I've barely touched coffee since being pregnant as I haven't fancied it.

I'm in day three of gastroenteritis hell... No actual puking today but just feel so rough. Went in for checks on Friday and all good so this is just a bug. Bonus of being on omeprazole for heartburn is that vomit is no longer acidic... Much more pleasant. Always look on the bright side of life!

Alyssa1978 · 10/11/2013 19:53

Ah I like that lady never thought of doing that lol.

Ok stom its a deal.....you made me do it Grin

mumoftwoboysS · 10/11/2013 20:02

I like that idea of drinking wine whilst bf too- then baby is happy getting milk and mummy is happy too! perhaps not for the first 4-5 feeds of the day tho Wink

sorry to hear you're not well lady how rubbish. It's bad enough dealing with all the usual pregnancy aches and pains without having a dodgy gut too. Fingers crossed it clears up soon. I'm crossing my fingers that I avoid all the usual winter bugs before baby comes- then I'll be worried about baby getting them! I hate winter for that reason! (but do love the snow, cosy fires etc!)

MrsEllsmore · 10/11/2013 20:26

I've got a bf session with my nct course next week, I am so asking about wine but drinking at the same time as feeding does seem to make sense!
