Hello everyone,

I'm a bit superstitious about being here, and I might only be here for a couple of weeks...

I am 4 wks tomorrow, but can't think about an edd yet. This is a rough guestimate as I mc'd 4 weeks ago and have got knocked up without an af in between.

I am a rmc risk following last mc, as had 2 previous mcs, I have an rmc referral next week (which will be interesting) but already feel that to stand any chances of having a baby I've just got to keep getting back on the horse. I'm 41 and the ticking is loud!

Not telling anyone this time round (immediate family knew last time) so having mn is an absolute god send.

On the plus, I feel as sick as a pig, already, which is a good sign for me!

LadyGoneGaga · 13/11/2013 15:15

Welcome Tanny. I've hanging out here AND the June thread because due right at the end of June. But it's really lovely that you're back so soon. Really hope this is a sticky one and good that you have a RMC referral next week. The sickness is defo a good sign!

lemonpoppyseed · 13/11/2013 15:34

My short-lived panic is over. They were calling to let me know everything was fine, and that my paperwork is in the system!! The doctor's office has never called like this before - they usually only call when there is a problem. Anyway, feeling MUCH better this morning (although if anyone comes near me with a cup of coffee I will not be happy. The smell is making me feel a bit wobbly this morning...Brew)

LemonLovely · 13/11/2013 16:23

Lemonpoppyseed: phew, that’s good news!

tannyLoo72: welcome! Second LadyGoneGaga’s comments!

Pearlsaplenty: thanks, am planning to ring the Whittington and speak to them, just to get my ducks in a row. DH are I are going to go ahead with the first appointment in Whipps and have scan there, and hopefully that will give us an indication of confidence, or lack of. You’re right when you say my current gp must only have a whipps midwives clinic: she said as they were linked to Whipps, I could choose another hospital, but in doing so cut myself off from the surgery if pregnancy-related problems arise. We figure complications are more likely towards the start, so we’ll stay with Whipps for now, and can always change late. The articles from August following the watchdog report totally freaked me out though. (Do a google and you’ll see why!)

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday: Yes, must be quite close! I’m Walthamstow-based.

In terms of general update, am 5+4 today, and still no major symptoms. Getting period-like cramping, and have tender boobs, but that’s about it. Not really ‘feeling’ pregnant yet!

turnwest · 13/11/2013 16:41

Anyone else so bloated you already look like you have a little bump?

turnwest · 13/11/2013 16:45

lemon apart from my horrid bloating I have no symptoms at all.

Incapinka · 13/11/2013 16:57

So pleased all well with Lemon. And fingers crossed for everyone else too.

I've booked an appointment to see a doctor tomorrow as I just feel horrible mentally and I really shouldn't be. I was fine after DC1 was born but since then novembers have been bad months. Found out 2 years ago that my DF was having an affair so had a very upset DM and then last year she was diagnosed with terminal cancer. Have spoken to her today and she has insisted that i book an appointment to speak to someone. I think the discovery of being pregnant (which was wanted) has been the proverbial straw that has broken the camels back. I have hardly stopped crying since I found out which is so unlike me. Not really sure why I am writing this but can't share it in RL yet. Feeling like a bad person.

Littleangel21 · 13/11/2013 17:04

Incapinka, I am so sorry to hear you're feeling like this. I've had anxiety in the past and wondered in the last few weeks if that was coming back. There is a lot of hormones affecting us just now. And it's good you are speaking to your GP, they will help.

I wish you loads of luck, I'm sure it'll all be ok xx

Incapinka · 13/11/2013 17:08

Thanks so much littleangel. So kind of you to respond. It's so horrible at the moment as anything sets me off crying which makes me feel even worse especially when crying in front of my gorgeous DC. He doesn't deserve this mess of a mummy! Just hope the Dr comes up with something

Littleangel21 · 13/11/2013 17:31

I don't think you should be so hard on yourself. Sound as though you've had a lot of your plate.

It'll be ok

Xx

BringOn2014 · 13/11/2013 17:48

Hello all, I had a bfp this morning Grin Called gps and they got me in to see the midwife today, I was surprised it was so soon. Midwife has got me at 4+4 but I think I may possibly further along as only had a one day 'period' in october and had pregnancy symptoms since during october. Midwife says I just have to wait for a scan to see but for now EDD of 22nd July. This is DC 3 for me, got 2 DDs already.

If anyone is missing from the list just comment with your date and I'll update it!

Will catch up properly later this evening, hope everyone is ok today!!!

AuntieMaggie · 13/11/2013 18:44

Really hungry today and cold - I'm usually a warm person but my hands are so cold and I'm finding it hard to warm up. I keep going to say things to people like 'I usually have cheese for dessert but I can't now' and other things that would let it slip. My belly is big anyway so hard to tell about the bloating and my upper stomach is bloated because I've had to stop my esomeprazole :( in fact with my pcos I looked more pregnant than this when I ovulated!

englishteacher78 · 13/11/2013 18:52

Still finding it weird how we have such a different experience already with someone people getting seen straight away and then others of us having to wait a long time. I was really hoping for an appointment this week - just glad I managed to talk my way into a Monday appointment rather than the first offered Thursday!
What criteria are there for getting an early scan on the NHS?

jaykay987 · 13/11/2013 19:22

tanny congratulations. So good to see to here again. FX it's a sticky bean!

english it's does vary hugely - it's mad isn't it?! My booking in isnt for another week and a half - it seems to be taking forever to come round! I'll only be a few days off 8weeks, but gp thinks Ill be closer to ten. That's such a long time for them to make us wait!
I think early scan criteria vary everywhere. Most people seem to get if they have had previous problems, or have a scare (bleeding or something equally as scarey). Have a look at your private options - some are not much more than £50 (unfortunately not for me as Im in the south). I loved mine and am so glad I had it. Made it feel more real.

isarah I might see you at frimley! Im booked in there Smile

englishteacher78 · 13/11/2013 19:25

I'm in the south too :( £95 here. Although my mum has said that if my scan appointment is after Christmas she might give it to us as a joint Christmas present.

RicStar · 13/11/2013 19:28

Can I put tentative toe on the bus edd 9 july? I have one dd 18 mths & one m/c @10weeks am v.paranoid esp as not feeling at all pregnant & scan is not until post xmas (30 dec).

turnwest · 13/11/2013 19:32

bringon yeah someone else going for a third, I thought it was just me but there are a few others on here too going for number three. It's made feel much better, I m not bonkers after all.

incapinka sounds like you ve been through a horrible time, I m so sorry, don't feel bad about crying in front of your son, it sounds like you re doing your best and that's all anyone can do. Xx

RicStar · 13/11/2013 19:34

also considering a private scan @ around 10 weeks. its pricey but not sure i can face stress of xmas @ inlaws without.

Sparky321 · 13/11/2013 20:34

Lemon so glad you phone call was nothing to worry about.

Incapinka, I really hope your dr appointment goes well tomorrow my dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer when I pregnant with my 2nd, the dr was brilliant in listening sorting out a 2 week sick note and was really supportive . I have my fingers crossed that things work out well for you.

I got my 2nd blood results today they have increased by 68% midwife wanted anything over 63% so as long as scan goes well on 25 she said I can be discharged from the epu :)

coco808 · 13/11/2013 20:53

so glad it was all good from the doctors lemon

I have also booked an early scan for £99 at 8 weeks +. The midwife is not seeing me till week 9. It is strange that there is no standard national guideline. It is even stranger that no hospital/clinic does private pregnancy scans in this town so I am having to travel an hour...

So...had to eat some more gherkins secretly in the staff toilets today. Is it bad that I am starting to take guilty pleasure in it lol

SmallOlympianBear · 13/11/2013 21:25

Hey Tanny, hope things go well for you this time. I've also had repeat miscarriages. I had a referral and the specialist recommended progesterone pessaries (nice) during the first trimester. The is some evidence to suggest that it can help women who've had RMCs. Don't know if it was coincidence but I went on to have our daughter. Maybe worth an ask?

ismarah · 13/11/2013 23:12

Jaykay same day too! How funny!

GP was in no way interested this morning - partly understandable as this clinic wants you to self-refer to the midwife. But partly, he wasn't interested because he confused me with someone else and thought I'd already had loads of kids. Sigh.

I should really have a MW appt in the next twi weeks but I honestly don't have the time, which sounds awful. But MA reasons.

Trying to snack healthily, which is really helped by having completely gone off sugar as it makes me feel even more queasy. Not very good at it though.

And whoever it was that said about bloating making you look pregnant already: hells. Yes. All my trousers do ia make me feel worse as they cut into my stomach such a good look. Seriously considering picking up some mat leggings or something already, in the hope that it would help...which seems extreme at 6+4..

BlueC2 · 14/11/2013 02:38

Moan alert! DS1 (17mo) seems to have decided this week would be a good one to start waking in the night again Hmm so it's 2.30am and half an hour ago I couldn't sleep so crept downstairs to get a snack to see if that would help-stupid creaky floorboards and little man stirs (normally sleeps so heavy even my going into his room wouldn't wake him). He's been awake crying since. I tried to settle him-no good- now DH trying to settle him but he has to be up for work in a few hours-at least I work from home so can have a bit slower day! Just gets me worried about the nights with 2 DC!! Am sure it'll be fine most of the time but it's gonna be a shock o the system!

So tired just wish I could sleep-even without DS1 up I was struggling-hate pregnancy insomnia especially when mixed with nausea!

Sorry for the moan ladies will catch up properly in the morning when I'm supposed to be working
