zunnam · 08/11/2013 18:18

Thanks jaykay987! Ive had cramps like this since i found out 2 weeks ago but I don't know if its because i'm focusing so much on what's going on! I think i'll be crazy by the 9 months! Wink xxx

zunnam · 08/11/2013 18:19

Sorry forgot to add- hopefully it is just normal stretching and growing pains you're feeling too [hugs]

Pearlsaplenty · 08/11/2013 18:50

Welcome to all newcomers :)

Fantastic news on the scan jaykay especially exciting to see a heart beat so early :)

I'm quite nervous at the moment, my scan the other day (scan because of bleed) was good re size +heart beat but did show a worrying sized clot that puts me at increased risk of m/c especially towards the time when the placenta is forming. So it looks like extra scans and drs appointments in the coming weeks which I'm not looking forward too and also I'm meant to be taking it as easy as possible as well, so we shall see how that goes Confused I'm just over 6 weeks now.

On the brighter side of things, at least I'm not feeling too bad, a little nausea but that is all :)

jaykay987 · 08/11/2013 19:08

Ahhh...pearl. That must be stressful. But it's good they've noticed it early so you will get the monitoring and attention you need.

ItsAlwaysBetterOnHoliday · 08/11/2013 19:25

Good news on the scans jaykay and pearl and on work ipsum.

Thanks for the Maternity Allowance info, Lady - really helpful.

Zunnam - I also have had slight cramps too on and off for over a week.

It's all a bit of a worrying time, this early pregnancy malarkey, isn't it? I'm a bit worried now as today is the day AF was absolutely due (my cycles are anything from 25-28 days, today's cd29), and I've had brown spotting on and off all day. It's fairly light so I'm hoping it's OK - a breakthrough bleed I guess as I think it'd be too late to be implantation.

I have a GP's appointment on Tue so I'll wait and see. Beginning to wish I'd stuck to my actual plan of not testing until today, I think I'd feel a bit better about it.

Going to eat a pizza, watch a film and not think about anything pregnancy related! Fingers crossed for everyone else. Have a good weekend! x

LadyGoneGaga · 08/11/2013 19:30

Could well be implantation - implantation isn't a one day process. It takes weeks whilst the placenta is forming and so you often see spotting in that time which is classed as implantation. Try and not worry, it is hard though.

Boboli · 08/11/2013 20:34

re tips for the nausea, I have loads of them!
When you're pregnant, your body can't regulate your blood sugar as well - the key is to keep blood sugar up which means eating little and often. You might notice that you feel ill when your stomach is beginning to get empty - don't let it get empty.
Grapes are great and so is flat 7 up. Also crackers, rich tea biscuits - Doc told me 7 up is as good as a drip. (flatness helps if tummy upset). Ginger biscuits didn't do it for me - in fact, the thought of them makes me want to be sick!!

Hopefully, no-one gets hyperemesis but the thing is not to let the sickness get out of hand and shout up to your GP if you can't keep anything down. I'm afraid reactions from GPs vary about this - my GPs with pregnancy 1 and 2 basically told me to get on with it (if I was well enough to get to the surgery, I was well enough to cope - 1 week later, I was in hospital on a drip). My current GP has been brilliant though.

jbiscuits · 08/11/2013 22:05

thanks for the tips! Will have to add going to Sainsburys in my list of things to do tomorrow then, as we have neither grapes or any form of fizzy drinks in the house.

PigsInParis · 09/11/2013 11:35

May I join this thread? Got a BFP 1st Nov, due 9th July.

Think Im about 5/6 weeks and horrendous morning sickness has just kicked in. Am definitely going to try Bobolis tips.

This will be DC3 and DH is over the moon - Im still getting used to it, having had mcs before.

Good luck to all those who have had scans already and heard heartbeats. I forgot how lovely that feeling was.

PigsInParis · 09/11/2013 11:36

jaykay - I keep having period type cramps too - had them in previous pregnancies and its just your uterus doing its thing. Can be uncomfortable and worrying, but it is completely normal.

LadyGoneGaga · 09/11/2013 11:52

Welcome, Pigs. I'm on DC3 as well. Exciting but the thought of 3 is also a little scary! I will be glad when I've had my scan on Monday to know there is definitely only 1 in there!

MrsB2013 · 09/11/2013 12:04

Morning everyone!!

Jaykay that's great news! It does explain why it took so long for you bfp to show! Did you book for the Harmony test while you were there? It's a pain they don't do it on a Saturday!

Congratulations to all the new bfp's!! Choccy I just saw your news on the Nov bus thread!! Get a FRER and a Digital test!!

jaykay987 · 09/11/2013 12:17

Hi choccy!!!!GrinGrinGrinGrin

Yes mrsb. All booked in. Really hoping its ok - as the results day and nuchal scan are........Christmas eve!!!

MrsB2013 · 09/11/2013 13:58

Fx it goes well and everything is ok! I'm still trying to convince DH we should have it, I know its expensive but I am such a worrier and would prefer to have the definite high/low risk you get, rather than the nhs results of 1:whatever number, which I've read can be confusing based on the blood result!

Choccywoccydodah · 09/11/2013 14:08

Hi Jaykay!!!!!! Sooooo excited to be here with you!!! GrinGrin
I haven't read back yet so not sure what's going on yet.

Choccywoccydodah · 09/11/2013 14:17

Hi ladies, not sure if any of you know, but if you've been taking b6 do you stop when you get a bfp?

SmallOlympianBear · 09/11/2013 14:20

Lady thanks for adding me. Spot on, it is the 11th!

Congrats to all for BFPs and to the early scanners. Pearls, will you be able to take it a like bit easy do you think, or is that completely unrealistic? At least they'll be looking out for you now.

I was wondering where my symptoms were, but then this morning I was run over by tiredness. Luckily BabyBear is napping so I get to lie down for a few mins, hurray.

ismarah · 09/11/2013 14:21

B6 throughout, I think..

Jaykay - congrats on scan and heartbeat! How awesome to hear it already! Looks like we're both due on the 5th, too..

My bit of spotting yesterday was just that and hasn't repeated, thankfully. Size of a blueberry now, apparently. Those are bigger than peas, aren't they?

Welcome all new BFPs!

BlueC2 · 09/11/2013 16:30

Afternoon all...well the all consuming tiredness has hit...oh how I had forgotten just how it feels and this time I have ds1 to keep an eye on too...who is also conveniently ill with a stomach bug! So hoping DH and I don't get it...DH prone to them and only just over a nasty bout of hand foot and mouth that ds1 kindly brought home for us!! Popped to the docs to register my pregnancy on Thursday and hopefully have been referred for an early scan due to previous mc...though doc not very with it so think I will ring next week and see if the receptionist can shed any light on whether the letter got sent!

Congrats to all those early scanners and to the new joiners too! Early preg is so exciting, nerve racking and exhausting all at the same time!

englishteacher78 · 09/11/2013 16:41

Hey, got my bfp yesterday and calculator says 14th July so I guess this is the place for me.

Is anyone else as crazy and neurotic as me at the moment? I don't have morning sickness yet and that is panicking me. But my DS is 9 and I genuinely can't remember how I felt. I'm not sure I knew this early (5w+4) I'm just so so scared. I mean we've been trying eight years and this is the first positive in all that time. I'm so so happy and excited and the love I have already is huge. But at the same time I'm crazy scared because no one gets everything they want. This baby is so desperately wanted. I'm driving myself crazy. Have booked a baby bond scan for 7 weeks. I'm just so afraid there will be nothing there. Just re-read that and I sound completely neurotic !
