February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Awww timpani that's rubbish about not seeing midwife. Heart burn sucks too. I've got a prescription from the docs for ranitidine (or whatever it's called) and it's my saviour at the moment! It's what's in Zantac and other supermarket brand indigestion tablets and I would definitely recommend it

Sassy20 · 22/10/2013 21:41

Honest opinions please - am I being unreasonable? We've got to drive two hours to go out for lunch on Sunday for mil's bday. I requested to my dh that we aim to eat no later than 12.30 as start to feel nauseous when eat too late particularly after a two hour journey! He then said I was being selfish and could eat at half one and was just being obstructive. Is it an unreasonable request when the table hasn't even been booked yet? He always seems to put his bloody mother ahead of our family which pisses me off! Confused

Littlestgirlguide · 22/10/2013 21:43

I have got 30 working days left.
Had my mid-year appraisal today. Manager was like 'there's a few things which need improving, but that's ok, you've got three months before you go off to work on those'. Er, actually, no...

EeyoreIsh · 22/10/2013 21:47

sassy I don't think you're being unreasonable. I've asked family dinners to be bought forward to a normal time so I don't get sick. failing that, I just eat a sandwich at my normal lunch time and then just eat less at the meal.

sunflowered · 22/10/2013 21:50

I just got a cardboard cup to pee in and pour fron. The midwife had to point out that bit of kit isn't reusable "just in case"...

Timpani my heartburn was so bad this evening I had to go to bed for a couple of hours. Like something was punching my insides and then trying to dissolve me. Hope you've managed to find some relief.

I think I've had some kind of hormone surge over the last couple of days - back to sudden overwhelming fatigue, super sore boobs, muscles ache after really minimal exercise, and extreme tears/rage/happiness cycles. Plus I'm being booted in the bladder again. So much for a blooming second trimester.

Sassy20 · 22/10/2013 21:50

Thanks Eeyorish. I didn't think it was that unreasonable a request personally. I think it's probably just that dh and I clash whenever his dreaded mother is mentioned so any discussion around that topic ends in a disagreement of some sort! Might take a sandwich and then eat nothing at the meal just to prove a point!!! Wink

sunflowered · 22/10/2013 21:54

Sassy I think you're being pretty reasonable. Surely you'll all enjoy the lunch more if you're not sitting there feeling ill?

PoopPoooDeDooo · 22/10/2013 22:13

I think you should be crafty helpful and book the table yourself Sassy Grin

PoopPoooDeDooo · 22/10/2013 22:17

I think I'm having the same surge Sunflowered...OMG the rage Blush Also have a strange uneasy/anxious feeling Confused Its very odd! Oh well 88 days till DD and only 32 working days (finish just before Christmas) I think that the Rage my also stop in 32 days as it appears to be mostly directed at one individualBlush

Poppy954 · 23/10/2013 07:12

Eyeore you can ask for a pot as soon as you get there and 'produce' a sample before you see m/w.

How come I've still got 62 work days?!

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 23/10/2013 07:17

Tried a different yoga class last night and it was brilliant. Decidedly less 'wanky' than the other one and not a whiff of nag champa to be had. The teacher is also a doula so it's a yoga and antenatal class rolled into one with some lovely ladies there who I shall be hopefully hijacking as friends.
25 week midwife appt at 9am. Must remember to book tours of the local mlu options today too so I can make my decision...

Sassy20 · 23/10/2013 07:23

Poop - I would but his annoying uncle will beat me to it as he just has to take charge of everything - don't think I'm hiding my dislike of the il's much but they are a pretty self centred bunch!

laura0007 · 23/10/2013 07:25

I've still got 73 work days poppy! And 103 until baby is due!

Sassy20 · 23/10/2013 07:28

Just added it up and I've got 21 days left till I finish work. I do work part time and am adding a load of leave in front of mat leave! Grin

Shropshiremummy2B · 23/10/2013 07:29

42 days left at work
100 days left of pregnancy
1,268 stone it feels like I've put on
754 stone actually put on
1 big fat gastro pub meal eaten last night
Amazingly 0 indigestion
2 days until my holiday

GTT all went fine, thank you. I heard nada so let's assume I'm ok! Hence the gastro pub celebratory meal.

See you on Facebook for bump day.

AND DON'T FORGET YOUR PELVIC FLOOR!

115 go EDD for me Laura. It doesn't seems to be going down very fast does it? Not that we're counting or anything.

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 23/10/2013 07:42

Lovely - just got annual leave and maternity leave confirmed. Don't start ML until 2 weeks after my due date but I have 4 weeks of annual leave accrued from 2014. Taking 2 over Christmas, going back in January and carrying 3 over to tack on beginning of Mat leave to prolong 'normal' pay. So will actually be off from 2 weeks before EDD. Not given a return date yet but am aiming for 10-12 weeks off in total... Get in.

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 23/10/2013 07:44

You off anywhere nice Shropshire?

Thisisfreakingmeout · 23/10/2013 08:02

whoputtheram I will have a real pickle dealing with my 2014 leave and my HR told me my ML couldn't start later than due date as birth automatically triggers it. So the latest I could put would be edd, and if she's early it will zip forward.

Are they making things up to make my life tricky??

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 23/10/2013 08:06

I don't actually know freaking - though if she says birth automatically triggers it, who's to say you will give birth on your EDD?! Can you maybe tack the leave on the end instead? Our company lacks any sort of HR department so we're all just agreein to what seems reasonable! Generally would have thought companies would want one to stay as long as possible rather than being forced to leave early to use up annual leave...

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 23/10/2013 08:17

Ok from reading I think birth does automatically trigger it but this has nothing to do with your EDD. So say you are due 7th feb, you can legitimately put leave to start 14th feb an have 2 weeks annual leave booked from 1st feb but if you give birth 4th feb then mat leave is brought forward and starts 4th feb. The annual leave you didn't get to have then gets tacked in the end if you all agree... I think that's right! Remember that they don't have to approve your annual leave dates though so thy might be their way round it...

LittlePandaBear · 23/10/2013 08:45

Wow, this new thread is moving quickly, just been trying to catch up!

I like the idea of counting no. work days left. I worked mine out as 29 which doesn't sound like many, but then I only work 3 days a week and have about 12 days holiday before I finish, and then am taking another 3 weeks of paid leave before mat leave kicks in. Can't wait.

I also get the wee pots to pour into the proper sample pots - who knew Stockport was so advanced? A friend's dog is poorly at the moment and she's had to get a doggy wee sample which I imagine is more traumatic than collecting your own!

My bump seems to be growing loads by the day now, I will have to post a pic for bump day as I've only done one at 17 weeks and it's loads bigger now! I forget though when I'm trying to squeeze past people on the train, I turn to the side and my bump hits them instead of my hips.

Sassy - I think maybe as it's your MIL's birthday you should go for the meal at the time that suits her, but definitely have a snack before you go to keep you going! When baby is here and you go out for lunch, baby will need to eat earlier so you'll have plenty of opportunity to dictate lunch appointments. My in laws would eat lunch at 2/3pm but if we're with DD we've trained them to meet by 12 so that DD at least gets some food in front of her by 12.30! Kids just can't space out meals! We've booked Christmas Day lunch out for the first time ever, they wanted me to book the meal for 2pmish but luckily the restaurant only do one sitting from 12.30 :) If we had it at MIL's house as normal we'd be lucky to sit down for 3pm!

Poppy954 · 23/10/2013 09:17

Whoput / thisis I've never heard of ML starting any time after EDD. I think it must be because you haven't got a HR dept whoput and it must be a special arrangement. Usually the last date it can start is the EDD and will trigger earlier if you are off sick with anything pregnancy related in the four weeks before EDD or if you give birth.

poppy I have 60 working days left so you're not alone!

shropshire yay for ok test results, enjoy your pub meal and holiday

I'm sure champagne as our resident HR guru will be along at somepoint to confirm but I think that ML has to start as soon as you give birth so any annual leave you had planned to take will be given to you at the end of your leave.

I am going to be hopefully confirming mine with my line manager/HR this week. Hoping to start ML official on 3rd Feb when I'll be 38wks but take 1 wk annual leave beforehand so last day in the office will be at 36+5.

Loving the bump day pics already so far today.
