February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

omg Shock just squeezed my boob!!! i have it too!!!

DH was more freaked out than me!

tiny, we have decided on the Baby Jogger City mini. We did want the Uppababy but couldn't justify the price plus we moved and would need to use the bus more/fold more so the BCJM was perfect. Only downsides are the expensive extras. The raincover, foot muff and bumper bar aren't included but its still much cheaper. I haven't heard a bad review yet and we were very impressed when we tested it. We are waiting to buy in January.

Update on colostrum. Left is thick orangey colour as it is when the baby is born but right is still clear fluid. I wonder if that is a result of me having a left sided feeding preference so the left one is more well used. OR could it be why I have a left sided preference because the left side is just better at it or just coincidence.

Had midwife appt today. It was my regular mw. I haven't seen her in this pregnancy but she remembers me. She was so nice, she said I can come for my next appt in 2 weeks!!
I told her I'd tried to measure myself and only got 21cm. She measured me as 25 (at 24+5). Think that means I should leave it to the professionals!!

Thingy the more I look at the baby jogger the more I like it! We’re hoping to test one tonight somewhere. Have you had a push of it yet? I read the handle is fixed height, I'm a bit concerned about Dh who is 6'4!

Boots have got 3 for 2 on baby stuff at the moment, so we could get the pushchair, carrycot and a car seat for £318 which I think is a great deal (plus £48 of points). I hadn’t thought about the extras you mentioned, but we could always pick those up later.

misskatamari · 30/10/2013 15:12

Oh my god - I came in town early so I could look round shops but realised on the way in I was soooo tired I actually just had a nap in my car! Hello third trimester - aren't you fun!

Definitely test it if your DH is that tall tiny. My DP is 5'7 and I'm 5'2 so I had the opposite concerns but it seemed ok for us. The off road version has an adjustable handle but is £100 more expensive and heavier.
We thought it folded really quickly, it was lightweight, had great reviews and was the right price for us.

sunflowered · 30/10/2013 15:22

Colostrum is orange Shock ?!

marzipanned · 30/10/2013 15:27

So I just hiccoughed and remnants of my lunch came up and flew out onto my trousers. I wasn't expecting that one, oh wily pregnancy.

tinypolkadot · 30/10/2013 15:33

I hope you weren't driving at the time misskat!

laura0007 · 30/10/2013 15:35

How the hell are you all squeezing your boobs to make stuff come out? I wouldn't know where to start!

marzipanned · 30/10/2013 15:35

Oh misskat I'm glad it's not just me! Exhausted again like the first trimester. And I'm not officially in the third yet either.

Right, off to yoga, aka having a bit of a stretch, a bit of a nap and a yummy homemade biccie.

Poppy954 · 30/10/2013 16:03

Well sort of yellowy orange sunflowered very thick and not at all milk like.
Laura I'm not recommending you do. Your mw would prob not advise it but if you want to then you need to put a finger and thumb on either side of your nipple then stretch them out then squeeze up and in!
If you do want to express that's the way you can get the milk flowing before you start pumping.

winterflowers · 30/10/2013 16:17

Never thought I would be a little bit sad my boobs don't leak when I squeeze. Plenty of time for that tho and they really haven't grown much yet either.

Also having painful bump, aching round my hips as well. misskatamari your nap sounds lovely. Sp jealous of you teachers on half term :)

sunflowered · 30/10/2013 16:26

Poppy if it's not featured one one born every minute I am completely clueless! I won't be too alarmed now when I start staining my clothes... Still only 23+4 so hope it'll be a few more days yet.

Baby equipment has increased significantly this week - now have cot,.mattress and some sheets. Won't have a clue how to get it to sleep in the cot but it's a start! Gave up bidding on last weekend's local moses basket though when dh spotted the ad didn't state 'non smoking home' and the furniture in the background was sort of brown. Could have been making assumptions but sure there'll be other ebay bargains over the next few weeks.

Poppy954 · 30/10/2013 16:42

Sunflowered don't worry colostrum doesn't usually leak ( I'm sure someone will say otherwise). It's your proper milk that comes in on about the third day after giving birth that comes in full flow. That's when you'll know about it and need breast pads. Also don't worry about thinking you are clueless. You won't be. I'm on number three and still had questions for the mw today that i probably should know. Also every baby is different so even for second and third timers we might not know as much as we think!

Champagne - i have a pretty hot bath every day to no ill effect. I think it's fine so long as it's comfortable - not too hot to make you feel faint etc. Your body is pretty good at regulating its own temperature and your uterine temp won't be affected unless you go really extreme! my bump sticks out above the water line anyway...

Littleen · 30/10/2013 17:24

champagne I would have a hot bath, just not super epic burning skin hot :P But dunno the rules on this really!

Nothing from my boobs at all - had milky stuff coming out of them when squeezed a few years ago as a rare side effect of meds, but so far they have not grown or changed at all since becoming pregnant! Hope I'll be alright to breastfeed anyway though :)

So tired today - little one was non stop moving both day, evening and night yesterday, and still very active today. He must be excited about something! I slept with my hand on my stomach, and he kicked it 3 times in a row, with both feet I think! Funny to feel it on the outside :)

Whoputtheramintheramadamadingd · 30/10/2013 17:25

I think a good measure is that you should be able to get right in without having to inch in bit by bit, in which case it's probably too hot.

I've been having hot baths the whole way through. It's just getting more and more difficult to get out. I wonder how much it would be to install a crane in the bathroom... Or just hire a nice young man to help! Wink

marzipanned · 30/10/2013 18:44

Ooh Poppy following your advice I did get some clear liquid! Previously I was just squeezing my boobs...I don't know what's inside my head these days because it can't possibly be a brain

I agree with whoput - as long as you can get straight in, it's fine. My usual (non pregnancy) baths make me a bit sweaty round the forehead, my pregnancy baths feel great when I'm first in but have to be continually topped up with hot water to keep them feeling good.

laura I just walked in on a plumber in our hotel bathroom, he frightened the life out of me. Will I send him round to yours? Wink
