February 2014. The cake mix is in the mug, the microwave is on, it's slowly rising and we'll be pinging in three more months!

Sadly my cake mix is rising too much and resulting in a serious muffin top.

Hi Champagne, have you tried to call your MW just for a bit of advice and reassurance?
I'm certainly not qualified to help you here, but I'm guessing that labour would be a little more painful and maybe progress a little quicker?

Sorry you're poorly Sad, definitely try your MW X

winterflowers · 30/10/2013 20:34

Beware Dr Google! Sounds to me like baby being awkward and maybe you picked up a bug? Would jusy keep an eye on how you're doing and get good night's sleep

camwombat · 30/10/2013 20:42

Firstly, step away from Google, no good will come of it.
Try and relax, its probably nothing, just another delight of pregnancy there's loads of them
If you are concerned, either call your midwife or local maternity assessment unit for advice, they won't judge you or mock you for being concerned.
I went into ours last time due to seeing spots and being dizzy at 39 week's, convinced I had preeclampsia, it was all fine.

Sassy20 · 30/10/2013 20:45

Champagne - if in doubt call maternity assessment unit as it'll set your mind at rest. X

laura0007 · 30/10/2013 20:58

Hope you're ok champagne! I'm sure you'll feel better in the morning.

Yes please marzi! Did you even have to ask? Grin

glad to hear you feel better champagne ! :) just have a nice relaxing time and youll be back to normal in a few days, I'm sure!

CubanoHabana · 30/10/2013 23:31

So tired but can't sleep... Normally,by now I have asleep on sofa but still awake... Grr!

Thisisfreakingmeout · 31/10/2013 06:59

I experienced my first legbreaking calf cramp at 5.30. That's a new type of awful.

Lovely DH came whizzing over and did some magic massage to clear it. Then I felt bad I'd woken him but I couldn't help squawking when it first happened!

Julietee · 31/10/2013 08:11

Champagne Hope you're feeling better thismorning! Look after yourself.

Thisis God yeah, they're excruciating. Are you hobbling about this morning? Mine tend to make me limp for a few days after. I really hope labour isn't that intense and painful!

Poppy954 · 31/10/2013 08:20

champagne hope you are feeling better.

Leg cramps - as soon as you feel it coming on pull your toes up towards your knee. You can completely avoid it if you catch it just as it's starting.

CubanoHabana · 31/10/2013 08:34

Gutted... Mamas and papas have 30% off all nursery interiors, yesterday I put all nursery interiors out and threw all packaging away... Could have saved £75 :-(

Thisisfreakingmeout · 31/10/2013 08:34

Sorry Champs, too bleary to see your post. Hope rest sorts you out and you feel better.

Yes, I am limping to work now. It felt like it was going to go a few times but I avoided it so far.

Fear and suspect labour will be a whole different ball game!

EeyoreIsh · 31/10/2013 08:39

champs I hope you're feeling better today. Take it easy!

I left work early yesterday after getting really bad pains in my stomach, I was close to fainting it was so bad. I went to have it checked out and it was just ligament pain, which is a relief. Who knew ligament pain could be quite so painful! I now have co-codomal if needed. I'm blaming the fact I was rushing around yesterday morning, the doc told me to rest.

flu jab later, joy.

misskatamari · 31/10/2013 08:45

I hope you're feeling better today champagne - and that you can get some rest. Being ill when Preggo sucks!

Thisis - eeek to the cramps! So horrid waking up with them! Don't worry - just get listening to the hypno CDs and we'll all be breathing our babies out without gas and air Wink

Eeyore - you're having a rough time of it this week. Glad you've got something to take for the pain now - how are your ribs feeling?

I'm off to the hospital this morning to buy a parking permit thingy that lasts up to a month post birth. They're only a tenner - but the place is only open until 4.30 so lucky I'm off this week and can actually go and get one.

Then hopefully a relaxing day of baking/cooking/crafting. I've borrowed the Lisa Faulkner cook book from the library and there are sooo many yummy recipes in it - hoping to attempt the chilli concarne today which has big bits of meat and chorizo in mmmmm!

lastnightopenedmyeyes · 31/10/2013 08:55

Sorry so many of you are feeling ill. I had my 28 week check yesterday with a different midwife. She really, really hurt me when checking the baby's position. She was so heavy handed. I spent the rest of the day cramping and genuinely feeling like I did with DS after my stretch and sweep at 41 weeks!!

Don't remember having such rough treatment with DS, and hopefully won't have to see this midwife again as she was filling in for my normal one.

marzipanned · 31/10/2013 08:58

champs/eeyore/thisis - hope you are all feeling okay this morning! Pregnancy really can be hideous. Champs do get yourself checked out if you're still feeling horrid today. I hope you've taken today off or at least wfh so you don't have to face that dreadful commute.

misskat I had stomach cramps this morning (nothing serious, just upset tum) so decided to take the opportunity to practice my rainbow relaxation while in pain. Though obviously pain of upset tummy cramps compared to pain of contractions is like a pea next to a mountain! :)

EeyoreIsh · 31/10/2013 09:01

lastnight that doesn't sound pleasant, I hope the pains settle down.

missk ribs are much the same. I asked the doc last night and she said that it was probably swollen between the ribs, it'll months and is worse in winter. so basically pregnancy = pain!

misskatamari · 31/10/2013 09:16

Ugh that's rubbish Eeyore! I hate how everything is just a bloody "pregnancy side effect" Hmm hope you can take it easy today a bit x

Julietee · 31/10/2013 10:56

Lastnight Oh, how horrible. I wonder if she even knows she hurts people?

I've had two breakfasts and am already hungry.

EeyoreIsh · 31/10/2013 10:59

julietee I've just eaten a big slice of cake Blush. I'm sure it's a better painkiller than co-codomal Grin

LovesToBake · 31/10/2013 11:14

lastnight that sounds horrible with the midwife - I would try to see if you can avoid seeing her again. When's your next check?

Julietee I've been on two breakfasts pretty much since my BFP and since the sickness/nausea kicked in - sometimes I've been known to have 3. and that might explain my 1.5 stone weight gain already

Julietee · 31/10/2013 11:22

Loves Uh.. me too!
In my defence, I HAVE to eat when I wake up or I feel sick... then I do eggs when I get to my mum's house (which is where I do my part time computer work). Jeez, I'm going to be a whale by feb.

misskatamari · 31/10/2013 11:40

I thought I was doing quite well at not putting on too much weight that wasn't bump/boobs but I'm definitely getting a bit if a fat face. Can't stop eating tho! Will just have to accept being a bit fat whilst Preggo and lose it after Grin
