I meant are you local to her, not friends, you said that haha.

Tired any?? Very!!! Zzzz

Smitten1981 · 14/10/2013 16:42

Good luck Flyer. How exciting that you get to meet your baby tomorrow!

thethreeblondies · 14/10/2013 16:43

Agree flyer focus on the positive, you get to meet ur baby tomorrow!!! Well done on recognising the issue straight away and getting yourself seen, oh but what about your storage box u were going to collect?! Good luck for tomorrow, look forward to seeing the pic! xx

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/10/2013 16:47

Very good luck tomorrow flyer. Sorry it was not just a pile. A bit of a shock for you it being so sudden (although of course it could have been any day now, but you know what I mean). Will be thinking about you tomorrow. You get to meet your baby! Thanks

Yes Tarlia, she was the TA in the other year one class to me last year and we get on well. She is moving house but will be a short car drive away, so a ready made mummy friend, yay! Smile

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 17:06

Good luck tomorrow Flyer I hope DP leaves his laptop tonight so he can help you mentally prepare. And of course, totally understandable that you wouldn't suddenly want to start sharing your medical history with everyone. At least there are plenty of c section experts on here to ask questions to in the middle of the night! I seem to remember peppermint capsules being important? Smile xx

claphammama · 14/10/2013 17:08

good luck for tomorrow dear flyer! How exciting for you. Nothing you can do or could have done to change it so hope you manage to focus on the positives and look forward to meeting baby flyer so soon now! My money is still on a little boy Smile. Will be thinking of you xx

Just back from Guy & St Thomas - went to collect DS's dad after his colonoscopy. Was a bit weird being there today, didn't expect to go there these days for reasons other than giving birth. And weird to think that I may be back there as soon as tonight... They took biopsy and we have to wait for the results but the good thing is that they didn't think it looked bad enough to hospitalise him so he is back home and I have childcare if I go into labour.

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 17:09

Yeah indeed feminist, I'm off to get peppermint capsules and Arnica I believe as well.

DP seems stressed since I arrived home. He is acting all strange and quite frankly getting on my nerves a little.

Sanjifair · 14/10/2013 17:10

Good luck tomorrow Flyer. Another 13 ther leaving the bus! Aargh, I knew it'd be just me left at the end! Though tucking is still hanging in there I believe! Sorry to hear about the circumstances, though lucky you noticed what was going on.

Congratulations MrsH and hope all is going well for feminist and nat.

I've had a sofa day today. Knackered after a busy weekend, though DH seems to think its my body preparing for labour. Hah, I wish.

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 17:31

For those that have had c sections some advice on what to pack clothing wise? I guess big baggy clothes are best? Also they said 2-5 days in hospital what is the norm if all goes to plan?
Thanks

whistlingdixie · 14/10/2013 17:33

Thanks for the update Feminist, so glad to hear MoN and Eliana are doing well :-)

And so much for my earlier post, I am now officially SWIL. Waters went this afternoon, contractions are now 12 - 15 mins apart.

Fx for those struggling with BF - I had heard it's the hardest thing post labour. Hang in there Brew

Good luck for tomorrow Flyer. And Flowers to those SC, SFW & SWIL.

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 17:34

Good Luck whistling.

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 17:40

Wow Whistling good luck! I'm taking great comfort in this nothing to something stuff- you hadn't had any signs earlier?

I'm glad things are looking as good as they can do at this point Clapham, fx results come back ok. From a practical perspective, must be a relief that you don't have to worry about who will be taking care of DS Smile

chickieno1 · 14/10/2013 17:43

flyer XL pants so they don't rub csection scar

Flip flops for bath

I went with nightie and dressing gown in hospital cos then you didn't have a waist band to rub on scar

When home yoga pants good. Even maternity yoga pants good

Magazines for hospital if waiting or in middle of the night

Canada stay was 48 hrs for elcs

In London had emcs and was in from fri night went home tues I think

Fruit as snacks

chickieno1 · 14/10/2013 17:44

Shower not bath

Try and get up and about early. And ask for painkillers if you need more!! Esp in first 24/36 hrs

roofio87 · 14/10/2013 17:45

Hope all goes well tomorrow flyer. and good luck whistling can't believe how fast the babies are coming now.
my best friends been here all afternoon having baby cuddles cos its her birthday. good job we're so close as I had to text to ask her to pick me up some thrush cream on her way over. only a true friend would do that for you on her bday!!Smile

pinkbuttons · 14/10/2013 17:50

Sorry to hear about sudden change of plan flyer but so glad you caught the signs and how exciting to be meeting yiur baby tomorrow! Grin Hope DP snaps out of it soon, sure hes just shocked but so are you x

Good luck to all SWIL and being induced! babies babies everywhere Grin

legally thankyou for reassurance re:feeding. My DS was an awful feeder and think am worrying alot. Midwife commented that she might not be having enough in that time and I need to try keep her awake. Her poo has changed this afternoon though and only on day 2 so think thats a good sign and feeling a bit less stressed about timings.

tarlia and pseudo so sorry to hear about BP still being a problem. really hope it all gets sorted soon. xx

Any tips on easing after pains?? ouch!!

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 18:04

flyer big knickers. I still wore pj bottoms but ones with really soft waist band that I could have high. 2-4 day stay here.

chickie what do you wear outside the house? I even find maternity jeans rub.

p-buttons I'm sorry, I read your breast feeding post as she fed so fast you didn't have time to post, god knows how!? My guy is a snacker and feeds for a max of 15 min, if I feel he needs more I change his nappy in between to wake him up and put him back to the same breast for more of the fatty milk. DS1 would feed for an hour at a time ever during the night so much prefer these short feeds!

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 18:25

*even during the night

moonblues · 14/10/2013 18:33

Good luck tomorrow flyer. I got out after 2 days, but it's sometimes 3 depending on how the baby's feeding or your blood test post-section.

Advise big soft pants that go over the scar, nightie for the first day - I had to have a catheter in for 24 hours, flip-flops or slippers (bear in mind you'll be wearing stockings so would be tricky having flip-flops with the bit that goes through your toes IYSWIM), then pjs or soft maternity trousers that go over your scar. Take regular painkillers, but remember you can ask for more painkillers if you're still sore, or something for the itch as the meds they give you can make you very itchy. You might want to ask for lactulose if your bottom is sore anyway and the painkillers might make you constipated or peppermint oil if you are getting shoulder pain, which can be a sign of trapped wind.

Cartons of juice with a straw are handy and those little pots of fruit are nice in the evening when you feel a bit more like eating.

Good luck whistling. Hope it's all going well.

whistlingdixie · 14/10/2013 18:36

Feminist - yes went from no sign to waters breaking and contractions in 2.5 hrs. Contractions now ranging between 6 - 12 mins. Trying to get one more episode of Luther in before calling MLU (plus hoping to wait until traffic dies down).

BowlFullofJelly · 14/10/2013 18:36

Sorry about the crap circumstances, but how exciting flyer, you meet your baby tomorrow! I would imagine your DP is pretty nervous as well - and its probably sinking in you will actually have a baby very soon!

Good luck to all those swil, and congrats on the new arrivals.

We are on day 8 growth spurt here and nipples hurting! Going to register her tomorrow Smile.

Oh, and my baby exploded last night! DP put her on the bed to change her nappy, and her arse literally exploded and she projectile shat - I was about 4 feet away and got hit in the face! Bloody hilarious, i have never seen anything like it.

tuckingfits · 14/10/2013 18:51

Sorry about the circumstances flyer but hooray you get to meet miniflyer very soon. I know it's dreadful of me but I am jealous Blush

So,how many 13thers will be left? Sanji & me... Sorry,I can't think off the top of my head if anyone else due on Sunday is still left... I am fed up still,I feel really sick again tonight & just hacked off. Am starting to think my 'orrible sister is right & my body is incapable of getting babies out by itself & that I'll have to have the ELCS. Next Tuesday. It seems so far away... I will have another sweep on Thursday if SFW (who am I kidding) but am now not hopeful of things happening, even after 2 sweeps & days of discomfort & show. It's crap.

xuntitledx · 14/10/2013 18:57

Good luck tomorrow flyer - just think, newborn snuggles tomorrow!! Yay!

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/10/2013 18:59

Grin my baby exploded last night Grin

Readyasilleverbe · 14/10/2013 19:10

Good luck flyer, a bit of a shock for you in terms of circumstances but you're going to have a baby tomorrow. Awesome! Hope the pain of the lesions settle soon so that its not so uncomfy post section...sitting down easily post c section births is meant to be one of the advantages surely so fingers crossed. Xxx
