Flyer - you can drink A LOT while bf... It's a total myth that you can't drink! Tbh, the most I ever drank in a day was two large glasses of wine. I can't link (on phone) but there's a v good thread with all the science on this in the breastfeeding board at the mo....

Pinkforboys · 12/10/2013 21:30

Thanks to all those struggling with feeding- it sounds like you're all making the right decisions for yourselves. x And a big glass of Wine for those now ff Grin

Does anyone else feel winded as the BH come on?

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 21:33

Legally I officially love you for that info Grin smashing you've made my year literally. WineWine

xuntitledx · 12/10/2013 21:34

Ahh, stop talking about alcohol!

I would kill for the following:

Kir Royale
Champagne
Cosmo

I've had a small glass of bucks fizz in 9 months so very much looking forward to a drink once bubs arrives!

claphammama · 12/10/2013 21:36

legally PLEASE send us this link! Grin we want to have our drinking scientifically justified and excused [

flyer Hendricks is my favourite... how did you know?? are you psychic? and I'm also not keen on Lanson (although they give you all this crap about how your taste buds react better to it in the air, no?)

pink sorry... we are making ourselves first! what names do you have so far? or do you prefer to keep them secret?

claphammama · 12/10/2013 21:37

meant "we are making ourselves thirsty" NOT first...!

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 21:41

That's it with the Lanson. Something about Lanson being citrus tasting as your taste buds altering, rubbish it's probably because they get it cheap

Divulge the names Pink?

Untitled you are good one glass of Buck's Fizz in 9 months, hats off to you.

Readyasilleverbe · 12/10/2013 21:46

Mmmmmmm, Malbec, tattinger ( my fave), Hendricks and kir royale. I confess I have had small tipples of the above over the last 6 months ( except the gin). Thank god, whatever happens we will not be pregnant over Xmas, even if it feels like we might still be at the mo!
Pink, my braxton hicks have been horrific all day. Really stresses me as find it very hard to monitor movement while they're here and that makes me stressed due to all the monitoring etc. next appt at 9 tomorrow but would like a little more activity before then. Feeling pretty stressed and emotional about all this suspicion about baby but keep reminding myself that if they had been really concerned this am they would have done something. Talk of delightful beverages cheers me up ( very bad sign!).
Hugs to everyone. Big group hug I think! X

Pinkforboys · 12/10/2013 21:48

untitled I'm with you on that combo...

Dh has just shouted out 'Camden' (wtf?)
Given he's australian howabout Sheila Kylie Z and be done with it?

I've had a handful of glasses of wine this pg. Fizz has aggravated my reflux Sad

How about we all meet for a boozy cocktail lunch around Christmas with our little packages. Ah, I'm dreaming of a cocktail in the St Pancras bar....

xuntitledx · 12/10/2013 21:53

Sounds good pink!

roofio87 · 12/10/2013 21:55

I'm a ff mum with a bottle of fizz in the fridge, but I can't get up the energy to drink it haha. I think I'd zonk out after one sip!! think we're gonna crack it open on tuesday to celebrate baby H's birth and my 3 year cancer free anniversary! ! Grin

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 21:55

Does sound good!

Do you have christmas markets in London Town?

Untitled I love the Manchester Christmas markets. Can't wait to pay a visit there.

claphammama · 12/10/2013 21:57

omg pink if you name your madam Camden, I swear I will name my boy Clapham Grin and perhaps when they grow up they can hook up and destroy the South of the river / North of the river London divide Grin

Love the idea of meeting everyone in person one day.

I've been having one glass per week this pregnancy, after 12 weeks...

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 21:57

No better way to celebrate such great events Roofio...WineWine

I hear hangovers and children don't really go together too well...how very rude Grin

xuntitledx · 12/10/2013 22:02

I love the Manchester Christmas markets too flyer - will you brave them this year with LO? DH thinks I'm mad for contemplating it...

Would love to meet with everyone someday - feel like I know you all!

claphammama · 12/10/2013 22:06

how unfortunate for children flyer... Grin

lots of Christmas activities in London... just googled it: www.visitlondon.com/tag/christmas-markets

I've been to Manchester only once on a business trip and it was in early December - my hotel was overlooking the main square with the Christmas market. It was amazing Smile

Pinkforboys · 12/10/2013 22:12

We could all take our new-ones to see Santa!

ready sorry you're having to be monitored so much. Aren't movements supposed to slow down a bit at this stage as they're so confined?
DS shouted at my tummy earlier to get a response out of Madam and it seemed to work...

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 22:20

I will be there untitled, pushing my buggy around with a mug of mulled wine in hand Grin

It would be great to meet everyone one day.

Manchester is a lovely city Clapham. I love London though I never tire of going there. So much culture and history, best city in the world IMO.

GTbaby · 12/10/2013 22:23

Flyer. Drink during bf. basically alcohol leaves your milk in the same way it leaves your blood. So 1unit per hour.
So if you fed lo and had a drink. By your nxt feed, approximately 3hours later the drink would be out of your system.

Natalieand · 12/10/2013 22:28

Thanks clapham that's the one I was after xx

Excellent way to celebrate roofio enjoy xx

Dh is irritating me big time! If only 'he was snoring' would pass as a justifiable reason for murder in a court of law I may well feel tempted to do it!

I haven't touched a drop of alcohol at all since BFP I'm not much of a drinker anyway so no big loss to me I have a theory that what's the point in having one? Either get smashed or leave it alone and seen as I can't get smashed I'm sticking to the latter.

Anyone got any nice ideas of what I can do with dd tommorow she's almost 3 and I intend to stay in all day just wanted something nice we could do together as its the last day of 'just us' before Mondays induction which I'm absolutely shitting myself about right now

How are our two SWIL ladies doing? Sorry if I have missed announcements/updates on them xx

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 22:32

Thanks GT very helpful info.

Livened · 12/10/2013 22:36

We will be going to the Manchester Xmas markets! Love all the atmosphere and food....only about 30 minutes away so might take the train so I can have some gluwein! Although after my 9 months alcohol free, my DH has a fair few driving duties to make up for!

Loads of BH tonight but not turning into anything as yet. Due date by my dates was today - but by scans is tomorrow. A 13/10/13 birth date would be cool wouldn't it?

roxvox · 12/10/2013 23:13

falcon it didn't come across wrong at all! I am happy to hear that I didn't lose the huge amount of blood that it was made out to be at the time! They were so unsure of what to do that they had DH really worried too. Perhaps it looked like a lot at first or something...

Tarlia I am on day 8. They are still producing milk, but I am sure it's not enough and baby is getting stressed and really upset and less pooey than usual.

GT the doctor said it was definitely an infection, then took a look at my breasts and said that although there were no lumps, there is a big red patch under my right boob that looks like mastitis, and she said that from what I'd explained I may also have an infection in my stitches. She's put me on amoxicillin and recommended I top up with formula milk for the time being.

Smitten1981 · 12/10/2013 23:14

Ooh the St Pancras bar is only 20 mins by train from me!

I've been feeling really weird all afternoon. Just gone to bed early. Not sure if it's flu jab related or what? Maybe I overdid it with the walk earlier. I feel like I need to cry and feel sorry for myself. Sniffle.

Wickedgirl · 12/10/2013 23:16
