Flowers

roofio87 · 12/10/2013 13:13

rox I'm ff but yes definitley having more at night. in the day manages 2oz out of bottles. but 4 at night so I imagine if bf he would constantly be on the breast at night. how are you coping with it? I admire you a lot!!

Shirehobbit · 12/10/2013 13:21

Roxvox - the bf counselor said yesterday that there were some pretty distinct rough patches; day 3-4 with milk coming in was my meltdown, but she then warned of growth spurts somewhere around day 8-10, then again at 3wks. Maybe you're in one now?

Smitten1981 · 12/10/2013 13:22

Good luck ladies with contractions. Still no sign here.

We just took the dog for a cross country walk. My hands swelled up like sausages and DH spent 10 minutes when we got in trying to get my wellies off as my feet had swollen up and got stuck. I wish I hadn't bothered now. Confused

Readyasilleverbe · 12/10/2013 13:55

Hi all. Hope those contractions ramp up again soon for you mrs h and good luck pink.
Legally, I will draw on your superwoman type strength when my time comes, hope the party goes well and amazing job with the twins.x
Back from another morn of monitoring. Consultant happier but not perfect so back again tomorrow. All a bit of a shock that things are suspicious since I've had such a 'normal' pregnancy. Quite uncomfy with lots of discomfort and heavy feelings down low so please god let things happen soon by themselves. Been told today that mlu is out of question for now. So trying to remind myself that type of delivery is not important, the outcome is only thing that truly matters.
Hope little Eliana is doing ok post op today.

ImpOfDarkness · 12/10/2013 14:20

Whatever mild twinges I had yesterday have completely ground to a halt. Shift up a bit there on the back seat ladies...

Natalieand · 12/10/2013 14:33

Midwife just been out to see me and attempted sweep for 3rd time still very unfavourable and she says if I wasn't being induced Monday she thinks I would go the full two weeks over. She also naughtily told me that on Monday morning when I ring for a time slot that they will ask movements are still reduced and to tell them yes or I'll be pushed the back of a very busy cue. Bit cheeky isn't it?

MotherOfNations · 12/10/2013 15:10

I phoned the hospital this morning to check on Eliana and she's doing fine. They'd done an Echo because her sats were a bit low but the shunt seemed fine. They're removing her chest drain and taking her off the ventilator today. Dp is going to hospital alone today because I don't have any childcare for Linah and could be doing with a sleep anyway. He's under strict instructions to take plenty of photos. It does feel strange not being there today.

MrsHoratioNelson · 12/10/2013 15:32

Hello again. Another 1.5 hour waddle to the local shops and round the park produced a few patchy contractions but mostly a very tired MrsNelson with a swollen ankle. Since I had so little sleep last night I decided it was more beneficial to be well rested for when it does eventually ramp up, than to knacker myself at this stage trying to force progress that might not come. So I've just had another nap and I'll do some bouncing and hope it all kicks off again later.

If all else fails I'm still booked in for that induction on Tuesday. So much for SWIL...

Thanks roofio and shire... I am desperately trying to rule out low milk supply. However, I have just called NHS Direct re me feeling like a bag of shit and they reckon I have anaemia (which I then googled and it turns out it can have affect on milk supply). So it's possible a combination of things. She's recommended I eat iron rich foods this weekend and then see the doctor on Monday. She said she can't understand why they haven't taken a blood test since the birth considering I lost 400ml of blood at the birth (not sure what is normal). I am on a breast feeding multivitamin so I thought I would get everything I need from that... Anyway, fingers crossed I'll be able to sort it out and get my milk supply back up!

Pleased to hear that Eliana is doing well MoN xx

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 12/10/2013 15:41

MoN - that all sounds very promising... I hope Eliana responds well to being off the ventilator..she's certainly a tough little cookie. Can totally understand you feeling very odd being away from her.

Nat - Shock I'm surprised your midwife said that to you given how seriously reduced movements are taken these days.

After feeling quite buoyant and patient yesterday, I feel utterly and totally pants today. Terrible night's sleep with lots of painful contractions that never amounted to anything and a bit of light bleeding. I'm rapidly losing confidence in my ability to interpret what is happening with my body Sad

Best wishes to all still waiting and hoping Soup is having smooth induction

MrsHoratioNelson · 12/10/2013 15:51

Ditto Bridget

Wickedgirl · 12/10/2013 16:01

Me too and I've done this 3 times already! You'd expect me to recognise what my body is trying to do by now

TheFalconsmistress · 12/10/2013 16:13

Roxvox don't be to worried about your blood loss I lost 1100 mls at birth and around another 400mls in clots since I have severe anemia It has affected my milk supply but it with you only losing 400mls its unlikely to affect yours unless you were severely anemic to start with usually they say if you lose over a 1000mls thats when its an issue. Dont be so hard on yourself keep going, I envy you! If I am honest i really wanted to Bf this time but As I am chronically anemic and prone to PPH I kind of expected this xxxx

roofio87 · 12/10/2013 16:20

sorry to those of you fed up with stop start labours. although it was more painful I suppose that was the good thing about my induction making me go from 0-60 so fast.
We've been to see H's great grandparents today which was lovely. feel like we've turned a corner now we're through the first week!

thethreeblondies · 12/10/2013 16:22

My tightenings yesterday evening dried up to nothing too! Dtd again with dh in the night, not the best idea as started cramping through the rest of the night but slowed again this morning! Been to the shops got haloween outfits for the girls, bday pressie for party next sat and mum bought me a cute snowsuit for bubs as the weather is decidedly cooler.

Glad to hear things are looking positive Mon

Good luck to everyone who is SC or SWIL or somewhere inbetween MrsHN!

Soupqueen · 12/10/2013 16:55

Just a quickie as signal dreadful (I'm not even sure I'm meant to be using a mobile in here). I am now IP. The pessary was inserted a couple of hours ago so I'm playing the waiting game now. Have a private room which is lovely.

roofio87 · 12/10/2013 16:59

soup hope it goes well and something starts happening for you soon! they gave me paracetamol that I had to put up my bum when my pain started. bit weird but helped!!

Natalieand · 12/10/2013 17:55

Good all seems to be well MoN xx

Hope things pick up agIn for u mrshn

Best of luck soup xxx

tuckingfits · 12/10/2013 17:58

Natalieand · 12/10/2013 18:07

Flyer747 · 12/10/2013 18:11

Mine certainly won't be coming on its due date tomorrow Hmm

Good Luck Soup.

WineBrewThanks To all those sfc or swil

Had a lovely afternoon. Decided to be naughty and had a glass of prosecco and a small sauv blanc. Thoroughly enjoyed it too.

JellyCurls · 12/10/2013 18:39

MoN I hope you managed to get a rest at home looking after your little girl and that DH followed his instructions and took lots of photos. How did Elisna get on off her ventilator?

To those in labour or being induced - good luck

I have today decided against breastfeeding. After baby J suckling for 2 solid hours last night i managed to top him up with 2oz of formula then this morning when he was next due a feed my boobs hadn't filled up. Figure with 1400ml blood loss resulting in me being anaemic, having a DD with special needs who is struggling to adjust to a new baby and a DS at nearly 3 who needs attention and a CS to recover from as well as DH to look after I have enough to contend with. Hats off to you ladies who have succeeded I admire you all so much

MrsHoratioNelson · 12/10/2013 18:48

Jelly don't look at it as succeeding or failing. It's just a decision you've made and you've got plenty to contend with.

Sod it, I'm going to have a glass of red. Probably more effective than paracetamol.
