mumoftwo we stayed at Taurito and tbh didn't venture far from the hotel as I felt quite sick a lot of the time! I sat in the shade by the pool mostly. Hoping to go back again though when I'm not pregnant.

I knew pfj and a couple of others had losses around the same time, have there been others since? Sad

I don't feel pregnant at all just very sick. I'm desperate to get a scan date but terrified there'll be nothing there. Is that silly? Had some spotting whilst I was away but nothing major; both times were after an 'O' so dh is not allowed nookie now (sorry tmi).

I'm wanting to have this baby in a different health authority to where I live (in same hospital as DCs 1&2) so I'm having to chase everything atm and its ridiculous.

Squiffie · 16/10/2013 22:21

thistle I have a high BMI too so no bump here either!

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 22:41

I booked a weekend away for OH and I last night... the weekend before Christmas, we'll be going to Edinburgh :) staying in a nice hotel and going to see the castle and the Christmas markets :) it's the day after I finish for the Christmas holidays so it'll be lovely Grin I can't wait :)

rebeccax2 · 17/10/2013 04:49

Can't sleep again :-(

I have a scan booked for today as I'm 9 weeks but my symptoms have eased. All. Including boobs etc. Plus some very light pink spotting. Although it doesn't look good, I'm feeling hopeful that everything is okay. Scan is at noon.

Positive thoughts from me! x

moominleigh94 · 17/10/2013 06:25

Positive thoughts and fingers crossed for you rebecca, my scan is at twenty to twelve today. I've been lucky and had a fairly 'perfect' pregnancy so far - all symptoms happening as they should, no bleeding - but I know that's no indication sometimes. I'm convinced in my head that something isn't right; that it's too good to be true.

I'll be thinking of you at noon :)

thistlelicker · 17/10/2013 06:32

All the best for your scans today ladies Thanks

thistlelicker · 17/10/2013 07:26

Just went to leave my house for work and swiftly vomited all over living room !!!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/10/2013 07:31

Good luck for your scans today moomin and Rebecca

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/10/2013 07:36

thistle do you throw up with no warning at all? I carry a nappy sack with me at all times, just in case. I've not actually been sick yet though just really bad nausea.

Green olive -9 weeks today and officially a fetus!

impatientlywaiting · 17/10/2013 07:41

Good luck Moomin and Rebecca for your scans.

Just woken up - fell asleep at 8pm last night!

Hezbean · 17/10/2013 08:28

Good luck with the scans today girls! Will be thinking of you.

Thistle you poor thing with the sudden sickness! And impatiently, that's a massive sleep! Bet you feel good today. I stupidly stayed up til 1am last night just reading. Zzzzzz this morning!

bushprincess · 17/10/2013 08:45

morning maybies!

I'm so so sad to hear McReds sad news, I know that almost to a lady we're all worried about this happening it doesn't make it any easier when we hear news like this from our little group of fellow maybies. I'm just so sad about it.

JessicaRRRabbit what a fabulous picture!! whoop!!

moomin and rebbecax2 thinking of you and your scans today - can't wait to see little pictures!

Here I'm actually feeling really quite nauseous today (for the first time)... was fine when I got up, took the horse out for a ride and then had to do some shopping... in the store suddenly felt so ill and now on the sofa trying to 'work' surrounded by the hounds... yuck - I'm 10+1 so thought I'd escaped all of this!! bugger.

Dobe hope you get a fair hearing from your directors - that sounds like really shitty behaviour from your work.. let us know what you get sorted

love to all

Vikks · 17/10/2013 09:09

Morning all x

Moomin and Rebecca good luck with your scans today.

bushprincess Its a right of passage, you've got the feel a little bit sick! Grin

impatientlywaiting impressive sleeping, I could do with some of that. Have a good day.

thistlelicker Poor you that sounds awful. ((hugs))

I finally have my booking in today at 9+6. I'm sure with DS I had it about 6 weeks. Anyway, feels good like it's official or something....
BTW I have definitely put on some inches around my waist, (not showing it on the scales yet) I have my maternity trousers and I'm sticking to them!!

NannyPlumForPM · 17/10/2013 09:14

On my way to my booking in appt :) good luck maybies with scannies!

dobedobedo · 17/10/2013 09:36

This morning I put on a pair of trousers that fit two weeks ago, and despite losing weight, they just will not close up! The top buttons don't reach.
Bugger. Might need to do maternity clothes shopping on payday.

hamncheese · 17/10/2013 09:41

Good luck for all scanees today!

For some incredibly stupid reason my morning sickness has worsened. I'm almost 12 weeks and this should be over ARGHHH. Mind you not surprised as with DS I felt sick til 14/16 weeks I think. Just sucks to be improving and then go back downhill.

bushprincess · 17/10/2013 09:53

how rubbish Hamncheese... hope it goes away soon so you can get on with your writing!!

Dobe I've lost a little too and STILL everything feels tight! Will have to do some shopping too but the choices are so limited here in Harare!

So, I've been meaning to ask this of you all since my appointment last week, but has anyone else (who is planning to breast feed) been told to start 'preparing' their nipples or is my OBGYN just seriously old-school??!

I've been told to start 'pulling' at my nipples after having a bath, OUCHY! should I REALLY have to do this yet? I don't see any of my patients (generally pigs, cows and horses) trying to play with their nipples before birth!! Smile

I'm inclined to think this is a load of BS but don't want to end up with a problem because I haven't taken his advice!!

Any ideas?

IfYouLoveSomebodyLetThemSleep · 17/10/2013 10:07

Hello everyone, can I join in?
I found out on Monday that I'm pregnant, I think about weeks along. Can't wait to get a bump, I've got such a podgy belly at the moment so it'll be lovely not to have to hold it in anymore!

IfYouLoveSomebodyLetThemSleep · 17/10/2013 10:07

Oops, meant to say 8 weeks.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/10/2013 10:07

bushprincess your post made me giggle! It makes sense to be honest! Bf hurts like a bitch for the first few days (for some people weeks) because babies suck is so strong and does really pull on your nipple. After a week or so though my nipples were like leather, so stopped hurting!

bushprincess · 17/10/2013 10:28

Hi IYLSLTS welcome to the maybies! I have to say, lucky you finding out at 8 wks! Thats 8wks less angst than the rest of us Smile have you made a booking in appointment yet? Good luck getting everything moveing

Thanks mumof2 ok, will put up with the pain and keep pulling at those nipples - DH laughed so much at me, sitting in the bath pulling at my nipples and making 'ow, ow, ow' noises!! but will be worth it if it all works at the end!

FrightFlea · 17/10/2013 10:30

I hadn't heard of the nipple twiddling and even if i had I would've declined.

My tips are have a tube of lashinol in your hospital bag for sore nipples. It's fab stuff.

Then ask, ask and ask for help if it is still hard going a few days later. People who try to help by saying use fomula aren't the ones with the right answers. A breastfeeding answer for a breastfeeding question.

My problem on dd1 was i was holding her lopsided. So she felt she was slipping and clamped on with her mouth. When i finally fixed that, (9 weeks later) we were sailing.

hobbjobb · 17/10/2013 10:33

Good luck everyone with scans and booking appt today!

And welcome ifyoulovesomebody

Speaking of nipples, has anyone else's gone a funny colour? Mine are actually a really dark purple...they're normally pink. So weird

FrightFlea · 17/10/2013 10:34

Gah, spelt it wrong. I call it my lash-it-on cream usually.
lansinoh

mumof2aimingfor4 · 17/10/2013 10:39

So true flea it is all about position and how well they latch on. I got s bf leaflet when pregnant with dd2. And with dd1 I had an amazing nurse on post natal ward that sat with me and had all the patience in the world to show me how to do it properly.
I wasn't bothered by the sore nipples for a few days it was the pain of stone like boobs that got me for a couple of weeks.
