Very true mumof2, although we've all only been speaking for a short amount of time, it feels like we get to know each other on here so it's always gutting when someone receives sad news.

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 16/10/2013 17:28

dobe that's awful about your work. I've been signed off with nausea for over three weeks now. I've realised today that I can't really hold out until I feel better as it could be weeks before this passes (lasted til 21 weeks last time) so I feel I will have to go back next week. However they've been massively supportive and I have been on full pay. It is hideous trying to work whilst feeling this ill and an unsympathetic employer would finish me off right now!

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 17:37

I've asked for a meeting with one of the directors tomorrow to tell them I'm not very happy!

For about an hour or two this afternoon I didn't feel sick! Progress!

(12ish weeks)

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 18:02

time to go and make tea. managed to eat some milkybar so going to attempt chicken nuggets or whatever there is in the freezer I fancy Grin OH can sort himself out Wink

loopylou52 · 16/10/2013 18:06

dobe that really is terrible! Do you know if this is their usual practice?

Congrats on the scan Jessica! Smile

My back is getting really bad. It doesn't hurt all the time but it seems to be hurting much more than it was. I have periods each day where it's agony, though paracetamol help a bit. My dh wants me to go to docs but I feel like they'll dismiss it as just an early pregnancy thing you have to put up with.

Hezbean · 16/10/2013 18:13

Dobe that really is awful. How is it even legal?! Hope you get it sorted...

Moobaloo - tricky on the drinking! If you're not ready to tell them you'll have to think of an excuse! Could say you've decided to have a couple of weeks off the drinking, or you had loads last night and are hungover? You can't use the driving excuse in your own home unfortunately!

Such a minefield for us wine lovers!

Is it bad that I miss wine?!

snoozysleeper · 16/10/2013 18:24

moobaloo how about being on some sort of detox? Allowed one blow out meal a week, the rest are smoothies and no alcohol?

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 18:24

Hezbean not at all, I felt guilty for missing Jaegerbombs the other day... now that's bad Grin

I have missed wine, Shloer is actually a good substitute, surprisingly!

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 18:30

Loopy, I don't think it is usual practice. It's legal, but just very shitty. I'll be having words!

Does anyone kinda feel pregnant yet? My tummy feels really heavy the past couple of days. Like there's a weight in there. (except it's a baby and a placenta obvs) I can feel it more when I stand up or bend. Maybe it's just the sensation of the uterus being "popped out" now. Think I'll be needing maternity clothes ASAP!

impatientlywaiting · 16/10/2013 18:39

Jessica is your profile private? Just tried to look to see your scan pic and the wavy baby, but couldn't see anything.

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 18:50

dobe - I definitely feel pregnant. Boyfriend and friends who know keep commenting on little bump Shock I say it's cake Grin but that's a lie. Hmm

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 16/10/2013 18:53

I love Schloer. Have found water v unappetising and been drinking lots of Schloer-type drinks and lemonade...looked at the sugar content today and now feeling horrified with myself. Going to cut right down - when I'm not pregnant I hardly touch fizzy drinks but when nauseous I have whatever I can stomach. Feeling like such an idiot now though!

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 18:55

Well you're 12 weeks aren't you so it probably is bump!

It's weird cos I've lost weight so my trousers and stuff are looser on me than before but I can definitely feel a weight now. I just hope it's one baby and not two! Shock

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 18:56

Im the opposite jelly, used to love fizzy drinks and now I'm living off juice (gone off squash, oddly) and water. But I do have Shloer when I fancy wine, and pepsi when out for a drink/meal :)

moominleigh94 · 16/10/2013 18:58

Yep Dobe, its so odd to think I'm twelve weeks. Found out I'm pregnant six weeks ago now Shock so much has changed since then. But I'm in maternity jeans as my old ones don't fit around the waist anymore (thank heavens for Primark maternity skinny jeans Grin ) and it's pretty solid so I'm guessing it's bump and not cake too :)

OH keeps teasing about twins.. it was funny at first, not so much with scan tomorrow.

thistlelicker · 16/10/2013 18:59

I've had a few tears for my stranger friends in here with their bad news!! Bath and bed for me I'm back to work tomorrow after ten days off !!!

dobedobedo · 16/10/2013 19:30

Hope you feel better soon thistle. X

mumof2aimingfor4 · 16/10/2013 19:32

Good night thistle sweet dreams

BananaHammocks · 16/10/2013 20:13

mumof2aimingfor4 me and OH went to Gran Canaria on our fist holiday together, we hired a jeep and drove all round the island. I think we had a meal in Puerto Mogan, lots of pink flowers and pretty little coloured boats? Does that sound right??

When did you all start to feel pregnant? This weight you've mentioned? Because I felt like that when I woke up today! A sort of pressure like if I had a washboard stomach you might see the tiniest hint of a bump! Only 8+5 though!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 16/10/2013 20:31

banana that sounds like Puerto Mogan, stunning place. We have an appartment on the beach front there and I miss it like crazy, cant wait for December!

I feel pregnant, 9 weeks tomorrow but I noticed the other night when I sat in the armchair and pulled my knees up towards my chin, it felt way to uncomfortable like I had a huge bulg at the bottom of my belly.

BananaHammocks · 16/10/2013 20:35

Ooh mumof2aimingfor4 you're only one day ahead of me!

Have you had your booking in appointment? Do you know when you will be having your scan?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 16/10/2013 20:40

banana had my booking in appt friday gone and got my scan booked for the 15th Nov by which time I'll be 13 weeks but I couldn't do the date they gave me initially. Have you not had any letters from antenatal?
Im under a west London hospital of which I had both my dd's. I just completed a self referral form on their website.

BananaHammocks · 16/10/2013 20:59

I've got my booking in appointment on Friday so hopefully not long til I find out when my scan is! Finding it harder and harder not to tell people so I hope I can have my scan not too long after I hit 12 weeks!

loopylou52 · 16/10/2013 21:06

Just remembered I think someone here was asking about how scans get sorted out. At my booking appointment my midwife gave me a phone number to call and book it a couple of days later (I presume I had to wait so that the paperwork she sent off would have reached the hospital by then). They were great on the phone and I was able to pick a day and time. I had imagined just getting a letter from the hospital with a fixed appointment and having to sort out work etc around that. Anyway, sorry if that anecdote is now no longer of use to anyone!

I'm not sure if I feel pregnant yet. My 'bump' is definitely mostly flab and I haven't needed to switch to maternity.clothes yet. I have noticed I seem to have a small firmer bump lower down though, which I think might be my uterus. Not sure though!

10+3 today

thistlelicker · 16/10/2013 21:36

I won't have a bump I have a massive bm I!!!
