Plus my bump is aching, a bit like trapped wind, so hoping that is what it is - glad I am not at work in case it is ;p

WhisperMen · 04/10/2013 10:08

hello all. just had a scan and baby is fine. had a rough night and I'm covered in bruises and have a strapped up ankle. I would rather it be me in pain than peanut though. I can go home when DP gets here at 11. I am going straight to bed.

going to PIL tonight for the weekend as DP is running a half marathon for charity in London on Sunday. not looking forward to having to stand around for a few hours while he runs though!

Roselau · 04/10/2013 10:43

whisper glad everything is ok!!!

frouby sometimes the movement feels different for me too. I also have placenta at the front so I think it's just when she changes positions and faces the back? I'm 29 weeks tomorrow. I do notice for me full bladder / constipation makes my bump a bit higher. I think as long as I'm feeling some movement all is ok. trying not to freak out about everything, it can't be good for baby...

So weird, this morning again, it was 415 am. That's 3 days in a row I wake up at the exact same time. I wonder if it has anything to do with her sleep cycle or something

on another note - LAST DAY IN THE OFFICE WAHOOO!!!! My team has been so lovely. I've gotten the most amazing feedback from them and they are taking me to lunch today. Hormonal preggers is going to have a hard time not crying her eyes out...

Featherbag · 04/10/2013 12:00

Hope you're tucked up in your own bed now Whisper! Was 3.30 for me, woken up by DS then baby moved in such a way that meant I had to sit on the loo for about 20 minutes before I could move again. I must have been constipated as I seem to have done noting but poo for 2 days now, feeling more comfortable for it though!

WhisperMen · 04/10/2013 12:04

Unfortunately I'm not in bed. I have a lovely bruise all up once side of me from the banister and can't lie on that side and on my other arm I have a massive bruise so can't lie that side either. I have given up and am now on the sofa with a mug of peppermint tea and my knitting.

ooh isn't it wonderful when you can finally poo feather I never knew it would be such a pressing concern in my life haha!

froubylou · 04/10/2013 12:10

Glad it's not just me that thinks that movement can change. Not amounts of times as much but the way it feels. Had a couple of hours on the bed and got lots of flutters and 1 strong kick when I put my hand on my tummy. Decided to ring M/W for a chat if nothing else.

Had a cuppa before sitting down to call her and whilst I was drinking my tea (and OK eating a bit of cake) felt 3 big strong movements. So feel better now. Think he has just moved position. Don't think even going up and being monitored will make any difference as he is definatley moving and wiggling around, just a different type of wiggling around.

Only had a scan last week and that was fine. I feel fine myself too. No signs of BP being up or anything. But obviously if I am still worried or he has another quiet time or the movements change again I'll nip up for a looksee.

Think I am going to treat myself to chip shop chip butty for lunch though lol. have a craving for salt and vinigar chips. And usually do shopping on a friday but wages going to be late in today so just sort of twiddling my thumbs with nothing much to do apart from wait for them to go in. Can't go out anywhere as once they go in our business account I have the payroll to do.

And am getting annoyed with phonecalls off the lads wanting to know where their wages are. They are all self employed subcontractors. We have just changed the company we are subcontracting to and they don't do their payroll until about 3pm on a friday. Its to keep the subbies on site longer on a friday I think and stop them pissing off at 12 o'clock to the pub (which is what they all usually do). So they were all told 2 weeks ago that payroll won't be done until after 3pm this week onwards.

But seeing as how they are all supposed to be on site and working, and aren't supposed to leave site or use their phones (except on breaks due to H & S) I'm a bit surprised that one of them has phoned me 4 times already to see where his wages are! He can't spend them until he finishes at 3pm. So why the big rush I have no idea and my DP has been saving his 'dinner money' for him all week so he doesn't blow it then have to borrow money off the others.

Have sent DP a txt to go find him and have words!

MrsShrubs · 04/10/2013 12:54

Frouby so glad you said that, I've been having the same number of movements but they're not as strong as they were even a week ago, and they're more wriggles than kicks at the moment too. I wonder if they've not got as much space now and that's whats causing the more muted movements? Also I've been thinking all week my bumps shrunk compared to last week, I suddenly look really compact and low rather than an over all bump so I'm glad you've mentioned that too!

whisper hope you're okay, you're not doing well injury wise at all are you? Glad baby seemed fine, just hope your bruises etc go down and the pain eases.

Em I had an awful baby related nightmare wednesday night, really really upset me. Must be the hormones! Other than that I've barely dreamt at all, think my bodies too tired to dream or remember them if I have been!

Rose hope you have a good last office day, not long at all now until you and DP are reunited!!

Stom91 · 04/10/2013 13:50

Those getting less strong moments I've had the same over the last couple days.... And then all day yesterday and all of last night all she did was beat me lol.. So she must've gotten into a position where I couldn't feel her so much.... I rather bruised today

Glad all ok whisper....

Sorry I haven't really caught up.. This thread moved too fast lol...

Had my hair cut today so feels better..

Still no apology from dp... But apparently I pushed him out of bed in my sleep so my unconsciousness was angry at him too lol

I keep dreaming dd is born at 30 weeks... Thats just over a week away Confused

abcdemma · 04/10/2013 14:33

Also jumping on the altered movement bandwagon. It went less to kicking 'out' and more to wriggling on the inside, but was still feeling movement so not too much of a worry. I think he's moved again though cause now he's been kicking the crap outta me for a couple of days lol.

Hope everyone is feeling ok/better (lots to read and catch up on), now to drag myself back to work for the other half of my mammoth shift :(

LadyMedea · 04/10/2013 14:47

Feeling like a sad git for looking forward to our Sainsburys shop tonight... Getting out of the house with Dh is always nice no matter what it is doing. He's studying at the momement for professional exams so its going to be a quiet couple of months. The exams are either side of my due date so we'll see what happens!

Whisper so glad you are OK even if you are a little beaten up.

lady i just lurked around your profile and hadn't seen the cake pic before (must've missed it). it looks AMAZING! you are such as star baker! i'm so impressed i would never be able to make something like that.

WhisperMen · 04/10/2013 15:39

Thanks guys. I have felt rotten all day as everywhere aches. I do have some impressive bruises though!

spent my day knitting and have completed the first row of my baby blanket. I am doing it sort of patchwork style with lots of 10x10 inch squares that I sew together.

Just realised I have half a cake to eat as we're at the PIL's for the weekend so it will go stale if I leave it. I guess I will have to eat it Grin

ooh lady I love going to the supermarket. DP thinks I am mental but I genuinely love it. It makes me sad that we have no car so have to do our shop online. You just don't get the same experience Sad

PistachioTruffle · 04/10/2013 15:50

I hope you feel better soon Whisper, it must've been really scary to fall, that feeling when you realise that you're going to is terrifying. Glad little whisper is ok too.

It was 5.30 the last time I looked at the clock this morning, goodness knows what time I actually fell asleep. I'm now so tired I'm constantly on verge of tears and quite ill. Please tell me it gets better, I've got no idea how ill look after a newborn feeling like this Sad

I've had both flu and whooping cough jabs today, so both arms are really sore and I'm feeling very sorry for myself indeed.

Roselau · 04/10/2013 16:12

i have a guilty pleasure for the supermarket too. love it

Roselau · 04/10/2013 16:17

i dont think that sentence made sense but you know what i mean

MrsShrubs · 04/10/2013 16:24

I'd completely forgotten to have a look at the cake too when you put it up, just had a look lady and it is amazing!!

WhisperMen · 04/10/2013 16:27

I don't suppose any of you guys have seen my motivation anywhere? I have so many things to do before we leave tonight but I haven't moved from the sofa all day. Someone come and pack my bag and go deliver this parcel for me?

NomDeClavier · 04/10/2013 17:04

Argh! At what point do I tell DH that 'doing his best' isn't fucking good enough?

Xenadog · 04/10/2013 18:49

Evening guys.

Whisper it's good to know you have cake to help you through this tough time; I think it's a great treatment for bruises too! As for your motivation - can't help as mine has buggered off too.

Nom what has DH done/said or is it just his efforts in general?

I had reduced movement a few weeks ago and then phoned the MW but it took her a day to get back to me! In that time LO returned to normal but I did have about 2 days of worry. There was still movement but it was significantly reduced and felt so much weaker/softer than it had previously. I did the "count the kicks" thing where I drank a cold drink, lay on my side for 2 hours and counted the movements. That did put my mind at rest as I had more than 20 in the 2 hours which was the target and so I stopped fretting so much. It's worth doing if you just aren't sure about whether you should head off to the MW/hospital.

Enjoy your Friday evenings all.

WhisperMen · 04/10/2013 19:08

I have just packed the bag. Well I went to put my toothbrush in and I discovered that I apparently have tried to pack the bag earlier. I have no memory of doing this and I clearly wasn't thinking at the time. It's for 3 nights and 2 days away and I have apparently decided we need...

an egg cup
two teatowels
one sock
an apple
pillow case
pack of rennies
a teapot

Seriously?! what the hell was I thinking?! I can understand the rennies and the teapot and the apple. Everyone needs those things. but the rest?

I've repacked it now with clothes Grin

PinkWitch803 · 04/10/2013 20:11

whisper I love your list. It makes perfect sense!

MildredH · 04/10/2013 20:40

Lol whisper- love the crazy bag packing.

Talking of bags- sorry if we've talked about this recently and I've forgotten- when has/is everyone packing the bag?

I'm 32 weeks.. Kind of had 34 weeks in mind- don't know why- but the thought of DH having to pack a bag for me if i was caught off guard fills me with dread!!

Deya · 04/10/2013 20:55

Talking about hospital bags - you can't pack it too early. Too late is a frightening possibility though! I'm 29 +5 and haven't started yet but by 32-33 weeks it will be done!

PistachioTruffle · 04/10/2013 21:31

Grin Whisper.

I've started buying a few things for the hospital bag, a nightie and slippers from primark, a pack of face wipes and a single pack of maternity towels so far. Something tells me I might need a few more things before its finished! (I'm missing egg cups too, I can see how they'd be essential Wink)

Was it this thread where someone reccomended natal hypnotherapy? Reviews for the CDs look good but it's quite a lot of money for us at the minute. Interested to hear any thoughts on it.

PinkWitch803 · 04/10/2013 21:33

I packed my bag last week following my unexpected stay in hospital and I was going to leave the baby and dp/snack bags until later, but paranoia has the best of me and I have got down my bag of newborn baby clothes and three muslin cloths to wash and put in a bag, plus coop is doing a deal on nappies and wipes, so without panicking, I may have the baby's bag packed by the end of next week! So then I may as well do the dp/snack pack too :)

I will have to redo it later as I won't remember what I have packed, but hey ho.
