Our new thread!

feather occasion dress with open suit jacket? Also ask around for any work loaners. If you have a spare £10 try purpless on amazon for their "wrap" dresses - been living in them for work and can be used after for bf. I wear the navy to all parents/open evenings.

Just catching up with the thread! And half term cannot come some enough for me!

LadyMedea · 22/10/2013 00:02

Feather where are you and what size do you wear? I have work dresses I'm happy to lend x x

PinkWitch803 · 22/10/2013 00:18

What lady said, assuming we lady and I are different sizes, plus I have some maternity clothes I wanted to sell on Ebay which are too small for me that might fit you.

LadyMedea · 22/10/2013 00:44

I'm a 14 by the way and in a Reading (but can post) but the dresses I have are very forgiving and would probably happily do sizes 12-16

Thank you so much, after I went to bed last night I had vague recollections of buying a black maternity skirt off eBay months ago but couldn't remember seeing it since. After emptying my wardrobe onto the floor at midnight I found it! I have a reasonably smart shirt I can wear with it, with black tights and shoes. So I'm going to wear this 'outfit' - as DH pointed out, I've worked closely with the entire interview panel for 6 years now, they know I'm pregnant and won't expect me in a tailored maternity suit! Thank you both so much for the offer, I really appreciate it!

kchapper5 · 22/10/2013 09:47

Wow just catching up with the thread.
Glad you've got it sorted feather and good luck :)
Welcome all new people.
Sleep is back to being practically none existent for me at the moment, but despite the occasional bouts of rage and the spd I'm actually doing ok at the moment :) (touch wood)

PinkWitch803 · 22/10/2013 10:28

My bump really hurts this morning. It feels sharper than the usual stretchy growing pains. More like I have done a hundred sit ups. I can feel the baby moving, but I can also feel my heartbeat on the bump going like a train. I hope it is the excitement of waking up and having a super growth spurt. If not, I suspect it will be another trip to the assesment unit for reassurance :(

violetbean · 22/10/2013 10:34

So great you found an outfit feather Smile Good luck with the interview!

TMI alert!

2 days of not having bran flakes for breakfast and the dreaded piles have reappeared. Argh! Confused

Woke up 5am and couldn't get back to sleep, was breathing in a weird shallow way, too hot and couldn't get comfy. Sigh. At least I could just lie there and rest rather than having to get up and do stuff. Hope tonight I sleep better! whisper, have you managed to get better sleep since the weekend?

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

NomDeClavier · 22/10/2013 10:53

pink does it feel like baby is shifting round? I get the when baby turns breech to ceph or LOA to ROA. It might be that baby has moved out of the way it was lying, which your muscles have got used to and into a new position that's forcing a stretch. If you're worried than do get checked put again.

kchapper I hear you on the rage. Poor DS doesn't understand why he has such a shouty mummy.

Glad you found something feather. I would also have offered up some clothes but they probably wouldn't have been there in time! Sounds like you have a perfectly respectable outfit anyway.

5ammy sorry you're feeling so down :( Late pregnancy is bloody tiring. I think in a way studying is worse than working. Work tends to make allowances and if you don't perform your best then it doesn't matter so much but studying everything you do counts towards a mark that stays with you forever. What course are you doing?

Stom91 · 22/10/2013 11:00

Morning all... I didnt sleep. Well either first time in a few weeks so can't complain really...
Couple questions....

My boss has emailed me asking if i want to do some Elearning from home.... 1. No not really... I'm not. Planning on returning... 2. I'm on maternity leave do I have to do it?? 3. My laptop is pants and i cant remeber my password for Elearning..

Also.. Tmi.. Our lady gardens down stairs... Lol... How is everyone keeping them trim? I can't see mine... Had anyone just shaved it all off? And hoped for the best? Lol i was thinking of doing it but then you get the itchy grow back... I would ask dp to have a lil go but he will either go Eww no or he'll mess is up lol....
And im starting to struggle with doing my. Legs too now... I would. Love. To wax but it hurts too. Much lol...Has anyone used that veet removal cream? Is it any good??

Sorry for all the questions... Xx

NomDeClavier · 22/10/2013 11:08

I would avoid veet in pregnancy unless you're used to it. Think burns on your fanjo (or so I've heard), so even for legs I'd be disinclined!

I have a razor with a bikini line trimmer thing. I wouldn't take it all off - regrowth itch, ingrown hair potential and if you end up with stitches why multiply your misery? I'm just keeping mine a reasonably length.

You're on ML, they shouldn't be asking really but I would suspect an ulterior motive unless your boss is just genuinely nice. Either downsizing is on the cards and being up to date with training will be one of the criterion for selection so you have to be offered the opportunity or their training stats for the year aren't good enough. If you don't want to do it then fair enough but if it could be useful in the future and it's free and you have time I'd take advantage of the offer personally. You can always ask for a new password. Depends what it is really.

PinkWitch803 · 22/10/2013 11:13

nom thanks for the suggestion. I will keep tabs and follow it upif I need to.

stom with my impending swim, i had a go at tidying up blind! I think it has turned out ok, but whatever it is is better than before. I tried to use a mirror when it was possible.

itsliz · 22/10/2013 11:44

Feather, so glad you've managed to get something sorted. Best of luck with the interview! Let us know how it goes, won't you?

Stom, I've just been blindly shaving it all off and hoping for the best, haha! I'm amazed I've managed to keep everything relatively tidy for the last 30 weeks... Not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up though!
I was given a voucher when I left work, so I'm thinking I'll use that to get a massage and a pedicure nearer the time to make myself feel a bit more human Smile

5ammy, so sorry to hear everything feels a bit rubbish at the moment Sad Sending big hugs! I don't know what to suggest other than trying to take things one step at a time and don't beat yourself up if you don't get everything done - there's always tomorrow! If your OH offers to help with anything then let him and use every available spare moment to stop, put your feet up, have a cuppa or take a nap Smile

I think little one has got stronger overnight as his kicks are now a lot more forceful and he decided to spend most of the night using my side as a punchbag (oww!)
I've been craving milk a lot lately though so maybe I should stop drinking so much and toughening him up before he punches a hole in my belly Hmm

He's also started clicking!!! Has anyone else heard little clicks coming from their bump? It sounds like when your joints click, but I only ever hear it when I'm sat still and he's kicking away so I know it's not me!
Did a quick Google and it seems fairly normal although there's no real explanation... I just want to know what he's up to in there!

ccsays · 22/10/2013 11:51

stom pssh, no way would I be doing an e learning course just now! Reply with something like, thank you for the offer of an e learning course but I don't think I'd have time to do this as I have a lot to organise before the baby arrives and won't really have much spare time once they do so don't feel like I'd be able to commit to a course at this time.

Re: bikini line I thing, I just used a shaving mirror on the toilet and angled correctly, which worked ok, but it's still a bit risky and you are taking your vagina life into your own hands when you do it.

Had the most HORRIFIC dream last night. The baby was pushing through my skin to the extent that she could wrap her hand round my finger. Then her hand RIPPED THROUGH MY SKIN. The hand then went back in and a leg came fully out, just dangling about. I screamed at DP to call NHS 24 (logical response Hmm) and he passed the phone to me and the NHS 24 guy was laughing at me, which set me off crying and swearing at him. Then DP turned on the hoover, which frightened the baby into pulling her leg back in. At which point I woke up in a cold sweat.

What the actual fuck?! Confused

Stom91 · 22/10/2013 11:57

Thanks for the advice... Its not majorly important.. It just the crappy multiple choice thing online for catering... Pretty common sense.. But it takes so long...
The certificates are in house so I can't take them with me anywhere...

I doubt they are down sizing as we were short staffed when I left we need more staff not less lol
As for the shaving.. I think I'll stick to. My razor and just do my best lol..

Liz the clicking thing I'm sure had been mentioned on here before or elsewhere on MN.. I'm sure it's normal! X

clare8allthepies · 22/10/2013 12:12

Sorry to hear about everyone being so uncomfortable.

Another fun day here clearing up puke, been to the docs and she's got some antibiotics for her chest and the doctor said not to give her any food until 24 hours after she's last been sick. Poor little mite is already complaining about being hungry Sad

i'm now also starving but can't bring myself to eat anything in front of her, hopefully she will have a nap.

WhisperMen · 22/10/2013 12:19

Hiya.

storm I haven't done anything for ages to mine. It probably looks like a jungle, but I can't see so I don't care. I'll probably give it a tidy before I give birth though.

Sorry you're having such a crappy time 5ammy like everyone has said, take the time to rest when you can and ask for help.

Glad you got your interview outfit sorted feather Good luck with it.

liz I read somewhere it might be airbubbles but i'm not sure anyone knows what it is really. I know daley has been clicking recently, if she is about she might have some info for you?

Hope you enjoy your swim pink

ccsays That dream sounds horrific. Pregnancy dreams are so vivid aren't they?

Hope you sleep better tonight violet

Is that everyone? I hope so, sorry if I left you out.

I slept for 11 hours last night. Obviously had the usual wee trips, but I didn't wake up properly until midday. I rolled over happily and sighed and then realised I cant bloody see properly. I am now sat here with my glasses on right close to the screen typing because everything is fuzzy. How on earth have I broken my eyes by sleeping? It's just typical. I finally get enough sleep so I'm not tired and then another thing crops up.

Molly28 · 22/10/2013 13:24

wow so much goes on here!!
feather good luck with your interview!
ccsays I keep having really vivid dreams but they aren't really baby related! maybe I'm in denial!!
violet I'm sleeping badly - I have moved into our spare bed which seems so much more comfortable than ours at the moment!
stom I only have a shower so bending into any type of position is just so difficult to do any maintenance! however my thinking is I can't see foof so what I can't see won't hurt me!! haha!!

itsliz · 22/10/2013 13:39

Ohh, I thought I'd read about it somewhere before... Couldn't remember whether it was on here or not! I'm not particularly worried about the clicking, just fascinated really Smile

mumoftwoboysS · 22/10/2013 13:50

5ammy hope you have a better day today! I sympathise (esp as I can so relate having 2 boys to look after too- and the school run/homework thing, tho new to me has just started this year!) I feel like there's always so much to do and not enough time, I feel guilty for not doing enough with DS2, for not spending time with them both after school (when frankly they're so hyper and I'm so tired I just want to hide away sometimes!) and still trying to sort out spare room to turn it into a nursery. Car boot got cancelled last weekend due to sodding rain so we're still knee high in crap.

feather good luck with your interview!

stom I have also tried the razor and mirror technique to trim down there as well as a beard trimmer! But legs still looking hairy (I shave lower half but prefer to wax top half. Whoever mentioned Veet cream I'd second NOT using it!! I did so early on in my pregnancy as I'd used it regularly before and came out in a really horrid red itchy rash! I'm going to try waxing I think.

Anyone else have lumpy boobs?? I mentioned a lump a while back and still haven't been to the docs about it Confused I was hoping it'd go away but it's still there. Last time I was pregnant I had a lump in the same place and it turned out to be nothing so I guess that's why I'm delaying it. I think it must be to do with milk ducts or something? There are a few lumpy bits so not sure if it's just normal changes/hormones. I guess I should get it checked just to be sure...

abcdemma · 22/10/2013 15:53

mum I reckon it is to do with milk ducts and/or hormones. Always safe to get it checked though.
As for the tidying up, I've always used Veet down there and have carried on doing so, obviously making sure not to shave at same time so none gets into blood stream etc. Cant stand the shaving re-growth feeling so it works for me. It's not as tidy as usual but thinking of getting a waxing done nearer to due date so it's one less worry.
Only 3 shifts till ML starts, can't bloody wait! Met a lady in antenatal class who's due a week before me and still working for 3 weeks which made me feel a bit guilty but she has an office job and I'm on my feet for the entire duration of my shift so sod it Smile
Hope everyone starts to feel better Flowers

EmB1715 · 22/10/2013 17:08

Hi ladies. Haven't posted in a while. Mat leave starts in one hour! Cannot bloody wait!

mumoftwoboysS · 22/10/2013 17:30

whisper could be dry eyes?? I have suffered from it a few times over the last few weeks and wake up with eyes killing me, dry and hard to open or blink! Everything blurry too. Seems to clear up after an hour but i did use eye drops into last pregnancy which helped. Another lovely side effect of pregnancy!

BohemianRaspberry · 22/10/2013 17:51

stom On the tmi front I use shaving mirror, trimmer and loo to keep trimmed. For legs, I'm booking a full leg wax at half term tp sprt out the fluffy legs. I really recommend a pedicure though - had one on Friday and my god it felt so very very good.

A lot of women in my classes are going past 35 weeks. I just don't think I can do it anymore after then - although I am finding the rapid loss of control at work to be upsetting and the general feeling of being a spare part.

How's the eyes whisper

MrsShrubs · 22/10/2013 17:54

very very jealous with those on a short ML count down - especially you Em you've only got minutes left now!!

5ammy I feel really swollen today, my feet and my hands especially. No clue where it's suddenly come from.

ccsays that dream is crazy!!
