Grin thepfj

Speaking of shots... Isn't the flu shot ready to go for this year now? I'm gonna get it but I hate needles. Wibble!

rebeccax2 · 07/10/2013 07:54

Thanks everyone for your reassuring replys yesterday. It really really helped.

8 weeks tomorrow :-).
Pants getting snug
No weight gained (yet!)
Some spotting that has cleared.
Hearing the heartbeat was the best moment of my life.

Have a great day everyone! xxx

FacebookStoleMyLife · 07/10/2013 07:59

Eek Magpie hope it doesn't go too badly. Are you suffering with the MS too?

Yes Dob time for the flu jabs again, be brave! You'll be fine. It's flu jab walk-in clinic for myself and DS tomorrow morning so fingers crossed for a nice short queue!

I've been feeling bad about missing posts, it's good that someone mentioned it. I'll definitely try harder in future.

FacebookStoleMyLife · 07/10/2013 08:04

Wow Rebecca when did you get to hear the heartbeat? :)
I've got my booking in appointment this afternoon and I'm really hoping she might whip out the doppler so we can get a listen. Did anyone else get dopplered at their booking in or is this just wishful thinking?

9 weeks today!!! hurrah. I don't normally like olives but I'm quite keen on this one

rebeccax2 · 07/10/2013 08:06

facebook I paid for a private scan as I was a bag of nerves. For £150 (!) they had better use the doppler!

FacebookStoleMyLife · 07/10/2013 08:09

hahahaha, quite right too! Eek £150, but fair play to you if I'd had it I would have spent it too, money well spent it's safe to say :) I've 3 1/2 weeks before my scan and stressing my head off

moominleigh94 · 07/10/2013 08:22

dobe Around here they're not starting until November. I'm booked in for the 3rd November (I think Hmm )

Booking in twins Facebook - mine's this morning and the midwife is coming to my student house for it. My housemates are under strict instructions to stay in their rooms until she's back, because the ones who won't have lectures are nosy buggers and would want to sit and chat.

Spirael · 07/10/2013 08:23

I'm another one that finds it easier to post during the week than at the weekend. I do check in occasionally at the weekend, but rarely get chance to post much. I try and remember if I need to post a response to anyone, but I seem to be in the process of losing my short term memory so apologies if I miss anything! Feel free to PM me or repost.

Got my booking in appointment with the MW this afternoon. She has the same first name as me! That could get confusing if she's one of the MW present for my (hopefully) home birth. I wasn't given a sample pot to bring today, though apparently they're going to want one. I have a bus journey before I get there though, so I should have plenty of time to build up to produce as required. Wink

£150 for a scan! Are you based in London, rebecca? The place I'm looking at near here does scans for £70. Admittedly though I'm up North where everything is cheap.

I didn't get offered the flu jab last time around. I wonder if I'll be offered it this time. In two minds over whether to get it or not, as it tends to send me down with a cold for the week following. Colds are horrible when you can't use a nasal spray or proper cold meds! Paracetamol by itself just doesn't cut it.

I had a really vivid dream last night that I was having a boy this time around. I wonder if it's true. :) I don't mind either way, another daughter would be fantastic as well. There's been no cases of more than one daughter in any family on my side for three generations, so we'd be ground breaking to have two girls!

moominleigh94 · 07/10/2013 08:24

10+6 today, but according to midwife's calculated due date, 11+1... reckon the scan will push me back a little bit... but who knows Grin

thistlelicker · 07/10/2013 08:35

Ohhhhh I'm 9+5 today!!!!! Can't believe it !!!

dobedobedo · 07/10/2013 08:39

9+1 today for me!

Those scans sound really expensive rebecca! I only paid £39 for mine with Baby bond.

FacebookStoleMyLife · 07/10/2013 08:50

3 booking-ins today, we can compare notes Grin
that's interesting Moomin, how did the midwife come out with a different date? maybe she wasn't using her little wheel right. And you're definitely best off keeping the housemates at bay during the booking in, unless you don't mind them knowing your whole family medical history!

I'm trying not to think about the side effects Spirael, feel rubbish enough at the moment as it is! But I know if I don't go I'll kick myself so might as well get it out of the way. I do know flu can be very very dangerous for bumps though so I'll suck it up this time (if I pincushion DS I have no excuse not to do the same to myself lol).

It's funny how families show patterns like that, my family on one side are almost all boys and the other are almost all girls so we're locked in a battle. The girl side were thrilled when we had DS, the boy side were a bit disappointed I think. Whoever gives that side a little girl to fawn over will be favourites forever.

MasterFlea · 07/10/2013 09:02

Hi. Ive been off the internet for the past few days. Everything makes me feel sick so even the thoughts of surfing on here makes me nauseous. I've so many posts to catch up on.

7+4 here and my pants are getting snug too. Has anyone ventured into maternity trousers yet? I got my old stuff down from the attic but haven't started wearing them yet.

wm3010 · 07/10/2013 09:05

Morning ladies, just checking in. Had my booking appointment with the midwife at home on Saturday (I was surprised too, apparently there is always one working on Saturdays) and my dating scan will be 28 October when I will be 12+4 according to my dates. I know it's only 3 weeks but seems like aaaaages away at the moment!

Hope you are all coping ok, I have new maternity trousers on at work today, mainly because when they arrived on Friday they were so comfy I knew I wasn't going to be able to pass up the opportunity. I only have the tiny beginnings of a bump but have been bloated etc so waistbands on my normal trousers were starting to be uncomfortable. Feel a bit daft in maternity clothes so early on but would rather be comfy, and they look like normal trousers as long as I wear a long top over them.

Hezbean · 07/10/2013 09:38

Good luck with the booking appointments today! I have mine on weds afternoon.

Before that though we have to drive from London to Devon for a wedding tomorrow and back again! Poor old DH has woken up with a terribly stiff neck so looks like I will be doing all the driving. Tomorrow I will also have to pretend to be drinking so wish me luck with swapping drinks with dh / passing off water as vodka lemonade!

dobedobedo · 07/10/2013 10:15

Haha hezbean are you going to fake drunkenness too? Please do!

Today my admin help has called in sick. I'm finding it hard to be sympathetic that she's been throwing up all night when I've been throwing up for the past week and a half, but whatever! So it's just me struggling to get everything done alone. I felt like crying this morning - but I'll just get through it and look forward to six o'clock when I can go home and go straight to bed! Dh can sort out his own and ds's dinner tonight. I'd feel guilty but it's his stupid fault I feel like this. That's what you get for getting me preggo mate!

moominleigh94 · 07/10/2013 10:24

Booking in done. Blood taken, notes made, so much reading for me to do Shock

Tiny little bit of brown spotting today - barely noticable - so I'm not overly concerned, if it gets lots or goes red I know I've got to contact somebody but I've had no cramps or anything so should be fine.

Scan date should be arriving this week! Any idea how long usually from receiving the date to the actual date of the scan? Seeing as I'm approximately 11 weeks tomorrow.

FacebookStoleMyLife · 07/10/2013 10:48

Gosh dob you poor thing. Try to take it a bit easy today and take plenty of breaks to rest and have a breather. I am glad I'm not the only one blaming the OH though! I think he blames himself too. He did want 4 but all last week I've had 'I think this should be our last one, I don't like seeing you like this', he may have forgotten what I have to do in 7 months if he thinks this is bad!

Well done Moomin how was it? did the housemates keep out of the way? Good attitude on the spotting, you're doing absolutely the right things. As far as scan dates go there's no rules, every place seems different. My scan came through at 5 weeks, my booking in appointment only came through a week ago. They will make sure it's by week 13 though so if you've not heard anything by 12 give them a ring I'd say.

Hez hope the driving isn't to uncomfortable or stressful. Have fun with the fake drinking! I played that game at a couple of weddings this summer. I never realised how generous my friends are with rounds before but it was a bloomin' nightmare ;) very funny watching DH get sloshed though. At one point he strategically spilt a glass because he couldn't handle another champagne so there's a handy tip for you
