Eeeek - congrats thistle and everyone else who had scans today. Pictures would be brilliant! You can add them on your profile here: www.mumsnet.com/member/manage-photos

Congrats thistlelicker! x

ThePFJ · 03/10/2013 16:16

Hi girls.......

So crazy dreams... I WAS in twilight and the vampires where testing their skills on me to see who could 'daze' the human the most until Edward came to my rescue. How lame is that?? Slighty erm.. lovely though! My dreams are so vivid still at the moment, I wake up confused, thinking I need to get back there... wherever I just was!

Twins... WOW you really are onefunkymama - can't wait to hear what happens!

loopylou52 · 03/10/2013 16:28

Yay, congrats thistle!

Dylanlovesbaez · 03/10/2013 16:43

Just checking in as tend to be a lurker! Hope you are all feeling well. Most of my colleagues know now but I'm only 7 weeks. So so exhausted. Anyone struggling g with lower back/pelvis pain?

Dylanlovesbaez · 03/10/2013 16:44

Also, I look totally pregnant! Is that normal? It's dc2.

Cybercat · 03/10/2013 16:50

Hi Dylan I look pregnant because I was a little overweight before and I am now very very bloated! Not letting it all hang out yet though! Am also exhausted and get lower back pain (if I slouch!).

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 17:00

I like your name Dylan ;) it's what we've tentatively chosen all being well and if my little kumquat (according to babycentre, it's the size of a kumquat at 10 weeks) turns out to be a boy :)

NannyPlumForPM · 03/10/2013 17:28

I'm on a tentative Dylan too Grin

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 17:43

Im fighting OH for Xander but he wants Logan Hmm hes already vetoed Rhys (I have welsh in me).

dobedobedo · 03/10/2013 17:46

Yeah dylan I've been getting lower back pain the last week, i have to keep getting up and walking about at work to alleviate it.

dobedobedo · 03/10/2013 17:48

You have names already? I can't think of any I like! I did like Rory for a boy but dh vetoed it. I just have no idea!

Cupcake1985 · 03/10/2013 18:11

There's a guy called xander on Australian masterchef at the moment! We are thinking Sebastian for a boy but can't decide on a girls name, want something a little different but not too odd. We've been talking about this for years before even thinking about getting pregnant! So hard.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 18:15

cupcake Ariella is a gorgeous girls name? I was picking up from school when a mother called out to her toddler (Ariella) she was a beautiful little thing with blonde ringlets, so now I really like the name. We're aiming for a boy as several different methods have said its a boy (including a tarot reader/clairvoyant).

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 18:19

mumof2 We've got Rhys as a middle name :) both of my brothers have it (one died when I was three, so my little brother was given the middle name Rhys in his memory, and we're going to continue it by having Rhys as a middle name too)

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 18:26

moomin that's really nice that your carrying the name on. I love Ryhs and Tristan but OH vetoed both, in fact he's vetoed every bloody name I've said! Im going to pull the 'its coming out of my hooha so its my choice!' card if we dont agree by the time baby is born.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 18:27

*Rhys

NannyPlumForPM · 03/10/2013 18:35

I liked indianna but DP said I was being a hippy Grin

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 18:47

mumof2 that sounds like a good plan Grin

NannyPlum I like Indianna. Think it's because it reminds me of the US place name, and I love them. If I wasn't named after one myself (and therefore worried it would sound a bit cliche/tacky/ew) I think I'd be going for a state/place name. Love Dakota, Albany, Savannah, Austin and Brooklyn Grin

ThePFJ · 03/10/2013 18:48

So today my family FREAKED out when they saw the bruise my MW left behind after she took blood. I told them it's no biggie - with pg 1 (with DS) my MW was always leaving behind bruises that covered my whole arm. My Dad is insisting that I complain. If I go to the hospital or anywhere else for blood tests they never leave a mark and he wants to know why MW are allowed to butcher people......

So can anyone else tell me of your experiences. Do MW generally leave massive bruises when they take your blood??

mumof2aimingfor4 · 03/10/2013 19:04

PFJ it depends if im having a good vein day! I normally give blood and certain times they do find it difficult to hit the vein right.

moominleigh94 · 03/10/2013 19:08

I have rubbish veins, it's not just midwives... I had a trainee nurse do bloods last time, I'm a bit of an expert these days Blush and was pointing out the right vein - the only one that works, the one that all the other nurses use, the one that the hospital uses, the one that it says on my notes to use - and she was adamant that she could get it out of the vein that she "gets it out of everyone else with".... five jabs, one massive bruise and not a single drop of blood later, she admitted defeat and tried the good vein; voila, four bottles of blood straight away.

She looked very Blush

bouncysmiley · 03/10/2013 19:12

Bruising isn't normal pfg. Sounds like you got an inexperienced blood taker there...any connection to the vampire dreams?

dylan I also look about 5 months pregnant with baby number two. Showing so much earlier than last time but I carried dd1 all on the front.

Can I just have a morning sickness moan? When will this end? I'm very grateful to be pregnant but omg I am so unbelievably sick. Another day off work today and just feel like I am constantly on the verge of throwing up. This is hideous!

AliOh · 03/10/2013 19:14

Aww lovely to hear of all good scan news :) moomin love the name Dylan, was always my boy baby name but unfortunately that is what DP is called (boo!) haha

randdom · 03/10/2013 19:26

As someone who had taken a lot of blood and inserted a lot of Iv lines a bruise isn't a sign of someone who is inexperienced. Sometimes it happens even I you do everything right. Personally I have dreadful veins and always end up with a bruise even when giving blood (and these people are very experienced) it is unfortunately one of those things. Wouldn't complain personally!
