Cbeebies massive massive hugs for you - so glad everything is ok!

Monstamio Welcome to the thread.. feel free to post your stats, and settle in with us girls. The feeling there may not actually be anything in there doesn't go away until you get your first scan.... I feel for you there.

So everyone has different coloured notes? Mine are darkish green. I need to whinge about this headache one more time please.... ergh argh ergh ow ow ow..... thanks xxx

loopylou52 · 02/10/2013 15:25

Sorry to hear about your scare Cbeebies - what a relief to see everything is ok. Fingers crossed for you mama - hopefully Cbeebies' story will help keep you feeling positive until tomorrow.

Welcome monstamio! Despite plenty of symptoms I found it hard to believe there was actually something in there until we had a scan last week. I still.keep watching the video of the heartbeat on my phone over and over to remind me there's a good reason for feeling so crap!

I popped into the docs earlier to see if I need to bring a sample to my booking in appointment next week and they didn't know but gave me a pot anyway. Did others need to take one for your booking appointment?

BoogiesBunny · 02/10/2013 15:27

I'm told that I need to bring a sample to every antenatal appointment - I'll be a pro at aiming by the end of this!

Bohemond · 02/10/2013 15:27

Cupcake and Monstamio - we are at the same point. Sweet peas Yay.

I haven't been to the doctor's at all yet - so none of the cogs have started turning. Have appt with my favourite GP next Tuesday so I guess it can all start then.

My parents are going to go crazy with excitement. They have two kids - me 41 and brother 37; neither of us is married (although both have LT partners) and neither of us have shown any indication that we might procreate. At no point have I mentioned to them that we were even thinking of trying so I think they have given up on me.

They have been great by the way - no questions, no mentions - EVER. But I am sure they have been disappointed as their friends' kids have all got families now.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE MY MUM'S FACE WHEN I TELL HER!

Post 12 wk scan of course - maybe I will just hand her the picture.

Bohemond · 02/10/2013 15:32

Monstamio - re symptoms up to 6 weeks. At about 1 week preg (I know now but didn't then) I had a weird catchy sticky feeling in the back of my throat. Has gone away now.
No sickness yet although do feel pretty hungry most of the time.
Some weird periody type twangs but nothing more.
Have ache in left hip but I think that is something to do with the kettlebells I was lifting yesterday Grin.
I will have to be going to the gym a lot - Deborah Meaden and Robin dance partner have taken over one of the studios for Strictly practice.

Monstamio · 02/10/2013 15:42

Thanks for the warm welcome - I've added myself to the stats page.

Ooh how exciting Bohemond! You mum is going to be beside herself.

I have that weird sicky/empty feeling which only goes when I eat. I then generally have indigestion, but that might be more to do with greed than anything else. I'm also just generally knackered but keep waking up at 4am with my head spinning. Too much to think about I guess. Other than that I'm pretty much the same as ever.

Oh yes, I had those period twangs for the first couple of weeks (would've been weeks 4&5) but they seem to have stopped now. I think it's supposed to be your uterus stretching.

dobedobedo · 02/10/2013 15:42

One spray of air freshener and that was enough for me to have my head down the loo (in work too) for about five minutes. Fun fun fun!

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 16:48

Bohemond soooo excited for you telling your mum.. Grin
dobedobedo everything smells wrong to be right now... someone down the road from me used some kind of manure on their garden the other day - or I can only guess that's what happened - because it smells rank outside now.. so damn smelly and horrible... blergh....

So my headache is abating... my DH finally took pity on me and decided to do some detective work for me... and one of the causes of migraine in pregnancy can be caffeine or lack of caffeine. I had none in the last 2 days - because I was trying to be a GOOD GIRL grrrrrrr - and he just sorted me out with some....

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 02/10/2013 17:00

glad the migraine is disappearing now ThePFJ

Dh is trying to have a conference call in the office while dd2 sits outside and has a tantrum. how long do I leave her before I face her wrath (19 months old) and try and move her. Hes talking to the partners of the firm having a very important review meeting Confused

moominleigh94 · 02/10/2013 17:06

Hope everyone's good today :) I'm excited for auditions on Friday. A few more of my friends know; my lecturers said it would be a good idea to tell them. They were all so excited and said they were happy for me; not one of them judged me in any way Grin

Off out tonight with OH and our two best friends; double date night Grin bowling and Frankie & Benny's.

bushprincess · 02/10/2013 17:09

cbeebies so happy that all was good on the scan for you today - rest and fx it all goes well from now on.

impatientlywaiting · 02/10/2013 17:10

Hurrah cbeebies so pleased you had such lovely news today.

Re the screaming child I say now. I work from home and everytime I pick up the phone the cats start to cry at me which is do annoying I end up shooing them with my feet but I'm guessing your DH shouldn't really do that to the baby so think you should go in and save the day.

I totally have the feeling that I'm making it all up sometimes due to lack if symptoms, my scan helped with that though.

Loopylou no one mentioned to me they'd need a sample of urine at booking in, so I had to go and drink about a pint of water 10 mins before the end of my appointment. Think its worthwhile just taking one just in case.

My notes are pretty swanky. They are specific to the hospital that I'm going to give birth in and include photos of the hospital as well as loads of info. I was really impressed.

PFJ - I agree with your DH re the caffeine. I am not giving up my one strong coffee first thing.

onefunkymama · 02/10/2013 17:31

Thank you cbeebies so glad to hear all went well for you. FX its the same for me tomorrow, not too optimistic but there's still a bit of hope

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 17:33

Is it normal to loose hair x

dobedobedo · 02/10/2013 17:37

Yes thistle apparently so. I remember my hair got thinner and more lank when I was pregnant with ds. And yet again it's coming out in handfuls in the shower this time too. It's a bugger.

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 17:49

My hair is normally so very thick but each time I wash it it comes out in clumps

JuniorMint · 02/10/2013 18:02

Hi everyone, well I have finally had some sickness today! At school, a fellow teacher had a flood in her classroom yesterday, when we went in this morning the musty mouldy smell just hit me and I was wretching. Felt churned up all day but it wasn't until I came home just now and was telling DH about the smell that just the THOUGHT of it got me wretching again and I was actually sick... bleurgh Confused

MasterFlea · 02/10/2013 18:34

I'm going to pm you CBeebies. I know I should not moan but I also am fed up with morning sickness and as I'm on my third, I know what is in store for me and can't wait for it to be all over and meet my baby in person.

I really enjoyed being pregnant with my first. Now where's the stork?

Choppa · 02/10/2013 18:47

On the bad side: puke, tits like rocks , stomach 5 months ahead of the rest of me (massive) and puke (did I already mention that?)

On the plus side ... We exchanged contracts on our house purchase today...complete Friday! Yay... Baby won't have to sleep in a cupboard Grin

Flixy102 · 02/10/2013 18:52

Does anyone else not really feel that pregnant? I'm 8+3 and apart from sore boobs and tiredness I don't feel pregnant at all!

Had a scan last week and saw baby and heartbeat so I know it's real, if we hadn't had that I'd really be doubting!

impatientlywaiting · 02/10/2013 18:57

Haha Flixy I'm exactly the same.

I feel so lucky not to have had any morning sickness but there are times when I totally forget I'm pregnant at all. I got a picture from the scan so whenever I think that I'm not preggo I look at that.

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 19:00
