Morning all,

Feeling dreadful today Sad

thepfj I think that's a great idea !!

Also I worked out-- I'm not a blueberry but a sweet pea Shock

If there's anyone else out there confused by what fruit/ veg they are...I found this great resource which takes you from week 3/poppyseed to week 40/jackfruit :

m.thebump.com/pregnancy/pregnancy-tools/articles/how-big-is-baby.aspx

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 09:56

A Webinar?? Agreed that does sound LAME. I guess I should stop talking on here and go do something....but my head is throbbing. Ergh. Etc.

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 10:01

Wow snoozy that's a brilliant resource... DH was just sitting here trying to stretch his fingers out for each fruit size! That has gone into my bookmarks. Thanks xxxx

BoogiesBunny · 02/10/2013 10:20

Hey squiffie, juniormint and Rushy's wife - welcome to week 9 and our little olives! We're into our third month!!!!

FacebookStoleMyLife · 02/10/2013 10:23

Excellent snoozy but... what's a jackfruit?

ergh a webinar, I feel for you dob, although throwing up on the keyboard would get you out of having to sit through it!

snoozysleeper · 02/10/2013 10:30

facebook it's a tropical fruit, I ate some when visited South India a few years back- it's like a large melon in size

Squiffie · 02/10/2013 11:04

Eek, into the 9th week!

So I did the school run in the car successfully, called at the docs to see what's happening with the midwife and bought a salad from morrisons that me and dd just shared for breakfast

Found out that the midwife was at the surgery yesterday but hasn't taken the contact details for new bookings! I get the impression she only comes once a week and I'm going on my jollies next week (10+ 0) and am away for a week (11+ 0) so could be nearly 12 weeks before I even get booked in! Angry

Cybercat · 02/10/2013 11:34

Hi all, am a bit behind with reading posts but just thought Id tell you that I didn't have to pay for my dental check this morning (NHS patient though). I haven't seen midwife yet so I had no paperwork and was prepared to pay but receptionist said it was fine. Just had to give estimated due date and sign a form - happy days!

SkipandTink · 02/10/2013 11:56

Hello everyone, sorry to hear so many of you are feeling ill, I can really sympathise as also feeling constantly sick and on the verge of puking, but never actually sick! my stomach feels empty and grumbles all the time as if I am starving, but can only seem to nibble ginger biscuits and eat toast! I had my doctors appointment yesterday and she confirmed my EDD is 25th May, by which time my other dc will be 11,10 and 7! Feel a bit sad this little one will have no little brothers and sisters to play with but I am sure the older three will be very helpful! Booking in with midwife is on 19th october. Still getting my head around doing the baby thing again!

We did end up telling the kids yesterday as they had to come with us to doctors, and I couldn't drive as feeling so close to puking,. They were getting worried about why I've been so ill and tired lately so we decided to tell them. They were all thrilled, my 9 yr old dd had tears in her eyes and keeps hugging my tummy to hug the baby. My 11 yr old dd was chuffed and I know she will act like second mummy. My little boy was fine, but he did say he wants another sister not a brother, as he wants to be the only little boy in the house! Bless him :)

NannyPlumForPM · 02/10/2013 12:47

Hello hello good morning! I will wait for you all in antenatal and we can all rock on to postnatal together!! I have a suspect feeling that im due somewhere at the beginning of may. But I will make sure I get time to post (even if it is at some ungodly hour making bottles for dbaby)

thistlelicker · 02/10/2013 12:57

This question is tmi I know .... Is it normal to poo more frequently

BoogiesBunny · 02/10/2013 13:09

It's crazy to think that, no matter how slow seems to be going now, in a flash it will be April/May and this thread will have gone through so much and the anticipation will be incredible! I'll definitely need to hear how all you guys are feeling those last few weeks and help interpreting suspicious twinges and happenings at my end! I have a feeling I'm going to be paranoid, but don't want to darken the hospital door unless I have to!

thistle I haven't come across that on anything I've read, but if it's happening to you it probably is. Unless you're eating a bit differently now and it's having an 'effect'?

onefunkymama · 02/10/2013 13:15

Slight spotting, and very worried. This is what happened last time just before it all went wrong. Doc says to 'take it easy' scan tomorrow to see what's going on, 24 hours could not seem longer. 6+1

NannyPlumForPM · 02/10/2013 13:18

An sure it will be ok mama. Fx for you x

impatientlywaiting · 02/10/2013 13:19

So sorry to hear that you are worrying. I know its natural and I'd feel the same way, but there are so many people for whom spotting is just a normal reaction.

I know tomorrow seems so far away but at least you will know what's going on tomorrow. I'm sure you'll be reassured after it.

Have you got any sure fire distraction techniques you could try? What about a few films to get you through if you are at home? Gone with the wind is like 4 hours long, if you watched that you would be 1/8th closer to the scan than you were when you started watching it!

BoogiesBunny · 02/10/2013 13:22

onefunky of course your scared - thinking of you so much and knowing that in all likelihood it will be fine, and this time tomorrow you'll be so happy! Chocolate to get you through the afternoon?

bushprincess · 02/10/2013 13:26

Hey maybies! 3 days and it's taken hours to catch up on the thread!! Welcome newbies and loving hearing everyones booking innews - thanks PFJ for the lowdown on what to expect!

cbeebies you're having a scan today yes? Let us know how everything goes!!

I'm back in Zim - so pleased to be home and with my hounds (and cats and hens and guinnea fowl!)...

Was all excited that I would ring the obstetrician I've been recommended today and start the ball rolling... but I've tried ALL DAY and still no answer... grrr... I'm a bit stuck as I only have 1 friend who has had their baby in Harare and am not really sure where to turn to next... Oh for the NHS! (despite all it's faults!)

so much work to do but shattered after such a long flight so all I can manage is keeping up with all the maybie new on here!!

bushprincess · 02/10/2013 13:28

mama hugs to you, of course you're scared but we're all thinking of you and hopefully your scan tomorrow will reassure you that everything is fine with the bean. xx

ThePFJ · 02/10/2013 14:10

awwww I am so glad my mad postings on this thread have been sometimes at least vaguely useful Smile

thistle my back end.... has been not normal for ages. Let's leave it at that, but you are not the only one!

This headache is driving me nuts.... it just won't go away and it's getting worse.... I think I may hide under a blanket for a bit longer... xxxx

Lent1l · 02/10/2013 14:35

It's great to read posts on here. I'm due with my second, first now 18 months and this one a bit of a surprise and a year sooner than we had discussed but nature knew better so now we've got over the shock we are preparing for having two in the house under 3. Currently 8+4 with midwife booking in on Monday and expecting same midwife as we had last time for all apointments.

Am finding am almost constantly queasy unless I'm eating and can't seem to stop eating. I know I was already heavier than I'd have liked (I got back down to pre-pregnancy weight a year post baby but the last six months this crept up by half a stone) and already I seem to be the size I was at 16 weeks last time. I know you show sooner the second time but just feel like a fat horrible blob and know my weight has not stopped climbing, but I have no energy to do anything about it.

I'm also currently constantly tired, in bed early or I end up asleep on the sofa. I was like it for first 12 weeks or so last time so expected it but had forgotten how little I got done and it's even harder with the LO in the house this time.

Sorry to moan on here but not told anyone but close family and also FB friends don't want to hear it anyway. Everyone thinks pregnancy is great and sparkly and magic and I just seem to have the rubbishy, not glowing stuff - even my skin currently makes me look like my 15yo self!!!

Did try that alternate date thingy - NHS says 10th May, adjusted thing says 9th. Last time dating scan added one day to the NHS one so we'll see, DD was a week late anyway.

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 02/10/2013 14:48

Hi ladies, I wasn't going too post this on here, but I see some of you have had spotting. Yesterday I started bleeding, not heavy to be soaking through pads, but quite a bit. When I phoned EPAU I was told to rest nad take some paracetamol in case the pain started, they would see me this morning but they suspected (as I did) that it was all over.

This morning I had a scan (already booked) and to my surprise they found baby with a very strong heartbeat straight away. They couldn't find a cause for any bleed and told me that during the next 2 weeks there could be more blood as this is how long it can take to leave the system.

I cant tell you how relieved I am, today I am still pregnant! SO those of you with spotting, don't panic too much, there is a chance it could be all ok. stay calm, phone the EPAU (or gp if you need to for your area) and its not over till the cramping kicks in and you're passing large clots

dobedobedo · 02/10/2013 14:53

Wow Cbeebies, how scary. I'm glad to hear everything is okay - just make sure you get plenty of rest, I've got everything crossed.
I'm constantly paranoid that I'm going to miscarry - I even carry pads around in my handbag Sad although I've had no sign to indicate I will. I think I was this nervous with ds too.

These next 7 months can't go quick enough for me!

CbeebiesIsMyLife · 02/10/2013 14:53

Lentil, I'm a blogger and later today I plan on announcing the pregnancy and will go on to blog about the pregnancy. If you want to listen someone else rant and moan about how horrible pregnancy is pm me and I'll send the link, pregnancy sucks! its horrible, a means to an end and an endurance test. also more than happy to listen to you rant if you just want to pm me to tell me how much you hate being pregnant Smile

Monstamio · 02/10/2013 15:06

Hello everyone! Please may I join?

I'm early(ish) 30s, 6+3 and expecting my first.

Had my booking in appointment this week as I'm going to be away for the next few weeks. (My notes are yellow btw!) Nearly fainted when they took my blood which is very unlike me, I've never had a problem with it before but I went all dizzy which was pretty strange. I've also got very low blood pressure so the m/w thought it was probably connected. I'm now under instructions not to get up quickly for the next 8 months!

Is anybody else having weird feelings that there's nothing actually in there? And that any symptoms you think you might have are in fact just in your head? That's where I'm at at the moment. Confused

Looking forward to getting to know you all and congratulations all!

Lent1l · 02/10/2013 15:15
